What are the odds that gross incompetence will pervade throughout the interview starting with the question:
So, we don't much about you, please explain to America who you are.

5 Pyrocles  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:12:20am

His image needs to be rehabilitated before being selected as Obama's Secretary of Education.

Yeah, he had a self-glorifying piece in liberal Toronto star. Maybe he figured he'd start off gradually by duping us gentle Canucks. I was pleased to see few commenters were fooled, even among that newspaper's readership.

They tried to get a "Winter Soldier" into office in 2004, but failed.

FreeBird Ayers must be sticky with joy.

Also at Michelle Malkin's place:

Weather Underground bomber Bill Ayers is a busy bee.

The violence-embracing Marxist is on the lecture and media circuit, hawking his repackaged memoir, promoting a new book on race, and basking in all the post-Obama victory attention.

He’ll be at Georgetown Law School on Monday and at a book-signing at Busboys & Poets at 14th and V St in Washington DC on Monday night at 6:30PM.

20 Who Watches the Watchmen?  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:16:19am

He's just an author doing a media tour for a new book. Nothing to see here.

21 Ward Cleaver  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:16:31am

There will be a special place in hell reserved for Ayers.

22 Nevergiveup  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:16:48am

Oh yes. Check out this jewel:

I am proud that the majority of america didn't fall for the lies this time. The Rove tactics are a thing of the past. The issues are what matter this time for the majority. The right wing party is dead. They are too divisive, are against diversity, against mexican immigration, support white supremacy groups and simply too extreme. Either Extremely wealthy or poor southenors who still are saying Obama is a muslim and not a citizen based on lieing blog groups.

My head is spinning and my brain is bruised. And farther down the page:

The great republican lie is that we are all going to some how become millionaires. They some how convince their base that you too can become rich and then the government will take all your money away! So vote for us. The sad fact is the top 1% of Americans own 99% of its wealth and 95% of us make under $250,000. But their lies work. Look at Joe the plumber as poof. The guy makes $40,000 a year and has a lean on his house and he’s freaking out because he will get a tax CUT under Obama. He fantasizing how he’s going to buy the company he works for and make all this money. WTF where’s the reality? That’s why were in the big F’in Financial Mess. The Greed is sickening and the lack caring for people less off then you is frightening. Do you really want to live in a society like this? I don’t.

61 Son of the Black Dog  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:23:37am

I'm certain Charles Gibson & Diane whoever will not ask Ayres about his previous life in the Weather Underground, or about his work extorting millions from tax payers to fund his left-wing indoctrination school programs in Chicago, or why he stood on our flag after 9/11.

Yes, I think America has lost it's way, and is fatally flawed. So what? Do you think everything we do is perfect?

68 DistantThunder  Thu, Nov 13, 2008 9:24:31am

I'm calling BS on this "reformed" terrorist. How is it that a terrorist, who probably has a malignant anti-social personality disorder, can change his personality to focus on , of all the professions in the world, one that chooses young children to nurture?

Warmonger to child nurturer. I'm not buying it. Ayers was a political predator then, and he's a political predator now. Ayers previously focused on government institutions, until he learned the true Marxist way - indoctrination of the young.

So which scenario is more likely considering that Ayers has obviously not had a religious conversion to explain this miraculous transformation?

Predator.

So what's the deal with Repubs. They mostly seem filled with anger and resentment...is it because they think they pay all the taxes? Is that it? They sure are pretty full of themselves. The Repubs that I know try every way they can NOT to pay taxes. They've all received disability at their jobs. They have all sued their employers. They've all cheated on their wives. They all drink too much. They all are bigots/racists. No kidding. I think they're in constant denial. And they've all taken up the habit of accusing others of what they, themselves, are guilty. What will interest me more will be the QUESTIONS. If it is, indeed a puff-piece, the credibility of the MSM (in this case GMA) will be further eroded.

Did you see him on O'Reilly last night? When O'Reilly said that Barney Franks should be in jail Miller said that Franks might like that. It was hysterical.

I am sorry i missed that. i have not watched news on TV since Nov3. I dont have a Tinfoil hat on yet, But the way the economy is going and the plans O and his people have for their "stimulus" I feel like a little kid at a scary movie with their hands over their eyes. YOu can tell me the bloods not real, you can tell me they will catch the monster at the end, BUT I STILL CANT WATCH.
Miller is one of the few bright spots left.
Too bad i'd have to watch Fox News to see him.

we will get through this But it wont be pretty. My business (luxury imported show horses) has tanked. I can barely give them away. I had to sell off my stock, and close up my business because the ramifications of the election are that bad. And it Kills me this Ayres fella was cheering on the world thats being ushered in... And perfectly happy to see folks like me destroyed, in his quest to also destroy the "Rich."

OT: Funny..

Barak will not have to make good on his promise to hold President to President talk (with no preconditions) with Iran.

Not because he wouldn't do it in a heartbeat, but because Iran won't talk to him without preconditions!

It seem that maybe NOT talking to your enemies, does punish them.

In recent interviews, advisers to Ahmadinejad said the new U.S. administration would have to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq, show respect for Iran's system of rule by a supreme religious leader, and withdraw its objections to Iran's nuclear program before it can enter into negotiations with the Iranian government.

re: #116 Buck

OBAMA'S SECOND THOUGHTS ON IRAN

The other day, in response to a cable from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulating him on his win, Obama indicated he was in no mood to accept the Iranian's invitation to dance - for several reasons.

To start with, he has realized that his offer of unconditional talks with Tehran could destroy the six-nation coalition that has managed to pass three United Nations Security Council resolutions imposing sanctions on the Islamic Republic. Some allies, including France, have issued direct warnings that Obama's campaign promise may encourage Iran to speed up its nuclear program. Israel's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, for her part, has indicated "deep reservations" about Obama's Iran gambit.

More important, perhaps, with the election over, Obama remembers that talking to the mullahs is nothing new. First launched by West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher in 1980, it has been tried by the European Union, successive US administrations and several Arab countries for a quarter of a century - producing nothing but grief. Genscher ended up describing the Khomeinist regime as a trap whose embrace is best avoided.

I can't tell you how many moonbats I've argued with who strongly contend that Ayers doesn't even qualify as a terrorist or that he's reformed, so strong is their desire to believe that their 0bamessiah could not possibly be stupid or dirty enough to associate with someone like that.

I wonder if the staff of Good Morning AmeriKKKa (as he might refer to them) will go in that direction. And I have $100 that says the interviewer will team up with him to ridicule Palin's quite accurate "palling around with terrorists" comment.

I was in Madison when that happened - August of 1970. I was just back from my travels in S.E. Asia. They identified the 4 guys who did it. Local punks: Karleton and Dwight Armstrong, David Fine and Leo Burt. The Armstrongs and Fine were caught and served prison sentences...very light prison sentences IMO. Burt has never been found. They're still looking for him. I won't be surprised if 0 invites him in from the cold. I'm sure some Hollywood types would offer him big money for the rights to his story.

Ayers probably wasn't directly involved...but you know he cheered when he heard about it.

I believe Mr. Fassnacht, the researcher who was killed, had a wife and kids. I don't suppose there's anybody at ABC who would want to talk to them though. You know...they didn't do anything heroic.

The media wouldn't be so quick to interview (spin) these Friends of Obama (FOO) after the election if we had the ability to hold a recall election on the national level.

Now, every time one of these violent nutjobs opens their mouths to spew their vitriol, a few more centrist Obama voters are going to have second thoughts. Granted, the loony left actually likes the anti-American venom these people spew and will never turn against Obama. But the vast middle that helped Obama win the Election will be swayed against him over the next 4 years thanks to people like these. But there will be nothing they can do. The Democrats in Congress won't impeach him. But a national Recall Election would have the potential to send Obama packing. This would also serve as a warning to any future Republican President - do the right thing, or the citizens will do Congress' job and kick you out of office.

re: #246 Charles

Actually, that's not quite what the article says. This "Eisenstadt" character is claiming credit for leaking that information - but the only one who's saying he was the source is ... him.

MSNBC retracts false Palin story; others duped

Eisenstadt identifies himself on a blog as a senior fellow at the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy. Yet neither he nor the institute exist; each is part of a hoax dreamed up by a filmmaker named Eitan Gorlin and his partner, Dan Mirvish, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

And they think the whole thing is funny.

Stein later realized he'd been had.

"Kudos to the inventor of this whole thing," Stein wrote. "My only consolation is that if I had as much time on my hands as he clearly does, I probably would have figured this out and saved myself a fair amount of embarrassment."

Had the shoe been on the other foot the MSM would be looking for blood.

I was just in the doctor's office and they had one of those local talk shows on the TV. The fluffy lady talker announced suddenly to the fluffy male talker that 'It seems some have been reporting rumor as fact. Sarah Palin stories, some we reported right here ... not true!' and she was shocked. The fluffy male recognized the confession in the naivete of his fluffy co-host so he starts saying they 'qualified it and a called it unconfirmed - blah blah blah' and then segued into joking about being skeptical about everything, including weather reports.

They were laughing fluffily while I was clenching my hand on the clipboard to keep from throwing it at the television. The media absolutely disgusts me.

It's still unclear but that article claims that Eisenstadt was indeed the leaker.

Right, except there is no Eisenstadt.

I mean it is possible that FOX spoke to a fake guy and ran with that story, and then the fake guy confessed to being the staffer, and only then was exposed as a fake. BUT it seems more likely that "Eisenstadt" saw the opportunity to punk MSNBC and Huff.

Now if it had been FOX who came out (instead of David Shuster, an MSNBC anchor) and said "Turns out it was Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, who has come forward today to identify himself as the source of the leaks," then I would believe that FOX got punked. However they didn't.

re: #281 jorline

It confirms what Charles just said...

The hoax was limited to the identity of the source in the story about Palin—not the Fox News story itself. While Palin has denied that she mistook Africa for a country, the veracity of that report was not put in question by the revelation that Eisenstadt is a phony.

So the hoax appears to be his claim that he was the leaker. The real leak is still anonymous.

King James II was packed off to France, and his daughter, who had married William of Orange, reigned with him together - with the support and agreement of Parliament.

Any who didn't like it, skedaddled, but the majority was very happy with this outcome.
Don't forget that this was on the back of some really heavy religious fervour - people did not want to be made to go back to Catholicism by a King who tried to institute Absolutism like in France at that time.
Thats what cost his grandfather, Charles I, his head.
Brits refused to be ruled by someone who claimed his throne was 'by God's Grace'.

Predator.

"Nurturing" children has nothing to with Ayers' agenda for education. His agenda goes hand-in-hand with the One's plan for government day care/preschool from birth to age 5. It's a cousin to Hillary's "Village" agenda.

Who are we to question? Works for Red-star China. /sarc

Check out Ayers' web site with uts red star logo; google their names and check out the "images" feature - notice how often he's wearing a red star T-shirt; that Dohrn almost always has a small red star pin on the upper-right breast area of her clothing.

Google SDS Reunion and take a gander at how Ayers and Dorhn spend their free time. These people the One 'doesn't know' are deep, hard-core Marxists/Communists.

Ah geez Kilgore come on, Hot Air says that:

"What isn’t true: Speculation that “Eisenstadt” was indeed Cameron’s source and that CC got duped the same way MSNBC did. Tain’t so, per HuffPo: Fox News won’t be retracting Carl Cameron’s original report about the Palin/Africa flap, because it did not come from Eisenstadt — which the Huffington Post was told on background earlier this week and which the filmmakers confirmed to TVNewser Thursday…"

Ok, so now we have Hot Air basing it's report on something in HuffPoo which was told something "on background".
And further, from Hot Air regarding Carl Cameron's reportng:

the issue is why he ran with scandalous allegations that are not only preposterous on their face, but which have since been challenged publicly by people in a position to know (as well as competing networks)

[emphasis added realwest]

As I said above, if SO many people didn't dislike Palin SO MUCH - for whatever reasons, real or imagined, the MSM would never have run this story without some checking of the veracity of the sources.
And no, sorry, I don't think that Huffington Post, basing it on something they were told on background is anything remotely resembling a reliable source.

I guess the odds that this interview is just a set-up to kick him in the nuts are pretty low, huh?
/I'd watch that.

Aide to Babs Boxer arrested on kiddie porn charges.

The charges were first reported Thursday by The (Washington) Examiner newspaper.

Hmm, The Washington Post couldn't be bothered eh?

I think he will play the "So what?" card"

Ya I said that... So what? Freedom of speech... I can write and say whatever I want.

Yes, I know Obama, and I like and support him. So what? 60 million other American voters do too.

Yes, I think America has lost it's way, and is fatally flawed. So what? Do you think everything we do is perfect?

Hear that sound? It is my booking agents phone ringing off the hook!

The left loves the false dichotomy of "Is this a perfect country, or should we burn it down and start over?"

And that's all the more troubling with WP fish wrap.

And we're still discussing the invitation/disinvitation of Ayers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I'm sick to death of hearing about this man. I'm also disappointed that he never got to grace the inside of a jail cell (for life).

Vietnam veteran denied right to visit grave of sailor son who was killed in U.S.S. Cole bombing for displaying bumper stickers deemed "offensive" to Islam

To which one of his lawyers observes: “Our troops are being killed by Islamic terrorists, 9/11 was caused by Islamic terrorists, these terrorists want to destroy America, the Islamic countries persecute Christians, and now the military is victimizing a father whose son was killed by Islamic terrorists while serving our nation.”

"Lawsuit filed in defence of Marine vet’s anti-Islam decals," from the Catholic News Agency, November 13 (thanks to Kyros):

Ann Arbor, Nov 13, 2008 / 06:56 am (CNA).- A Marine veteran whose anti-terrorist and anti-Islam vehicle decals hindered him in visiting the grave of his fallen son at Arlington National Cemetery has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the military order which rebuked his display of the decals.

Jesse Nieto, a 25-year Marine veteran, served two combat tours in Vietnam. His youngest son, Marc, was one of the seventeen sailors killed in the terrorist bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in October of 2000.

Since 1994 Nieto has been a civilian employee at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. In 2001 he began displaying various decals on his vehicle expressing sentiments such as “Remember the Cole, 12 Oct 2000,” “Islam=Terrorism” and “We Died, They Rejoiced.”

On July 31, 2008, two military police officers ticketed Nieto for displaying “offensive material.”

After Nieto refused to remove all allegedly offending decals from his vehicle, the Base Magistrate issued a written order ordering Nieto to remove his vehicle from the base until all decals were removed. The order banned his vehicle from all other federal installations, and reportedly prevented him from driving onto the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.

The Ann Arbor-based Thomas More Law Center filed a federal civil rights lawsuit this week on Nieto’s behalf against the Camp Lejeune Commanding Officer and the Base Magistrate in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The lawsuit claims that the military’s ban on Nieto’s vehicle decals violates his constitutional rights to freedom of speech and the equal protection of the law.

“The banning of these decals is political correctness run amuck in the military,” charged Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center. “Our troops are being killed by Islamic terrorists, 9/11 was caused by Islamic terrorists, these terrorists want to destroy America, the Islamic countries persecute Christians, and now the military is victimizing a father whose son was killed by Islamic terrorists while serving our nation.”

Thompson speculated that the Marine command would have to eliminate the Marine’s Hymn because “the phrase ‘to the shores of Tripoli’ celebrates the Marine victory over Islamic forces in the Barbary Coast War and the Battle of Derne.”...

re: #358 Dustyvet

I work on a Major Military Base in a Joint Command. I am amazed at how emasculated the officers have become. Even the Chiefs, the E-9s, are more like pretty boys than warriors, concerned with how things look and are perceived and failing to take care of their troops or making sure the young LTs are assigned a good NCO to guide and mold them.

Our work gets Triple S'ed to death (Staff Summary Sheet) and every O-6 and above thinks they have to provide input and insist on changing what the Action Officer has done. Sometimes the lawyers drive the bus to the detriment of all.

I came back here after 17 years on the outside. The officers and senior enlisted are a shell of what they used to be.

OT: I'm probably a little late to this party, but the "Palin didn't know Africa" tape was a hoax.

If not prior posted: Iowahawk, where are you? This is just too juicy not to receive your "special" treatment. In fact, the entire matter seems as if it had just jumped right out of your keyboard! And Palin gets the last laugh?

The left loves the false dichotomy of "Is this a perfect country, or should we burn it down and start over?"

Shades of former radical, Jerry Rubin (co-founder w/ A. Hoffman of the Yippies), who, when asked in the early '70s what would happen if the "Revolution" succeeded and the country was torn down, said something to the effect of - "see what happens ... and.. groove on the rubble!"

Last I heard, he then went on to cut his hair, grow up, and became a stock broker in Denver, I believe. Some eventually get it, others never will.

Lately, I hear/read the defense of "Change" without definition as - "you got to break some eggs to make an omelet!" Indeed.

Ayers describes Obama in his new afterword in his book as a "family friend"? Not a guy in the neighborhood? Interesting if this blurb is accurate.

This group of photos showing the execution of a spy/assassin are pretty famous. The gentleman pulling the trigger had several members of his family butchered by VC in civilian clothing.

Pretty hard to tell who the enemy is when the enemy looks like civilians and that the VC did, often hide in civilian populations.

Are you defending the fact that Ayers bombed people? Any civilian casualties, war time, peace time, overseas, or next door is a tragedy. Ayers is a terrible man because he was a terrorist and advocated policies and values that should make most people sick.

Do you think, Justiceforall, that it's ok for someone to bomb civilians if another entity bombs more?

On a serious note. At least those of us here can hold our heads high. We knew. We tried to warn America.

And the MSM deliberately suppressed the warnings. How sad, infuriating and frightening it is to witness the intentional erosion of freedom of the press by the Left. Thank God for LGF and a few other reliable news sources.

Who planned to exterminate 25 million Americans (to begin with) - the rough estimate of Americans who would resist the Communist revolution brought to you by Bill Ayers/Weatherman? You asinine little twerp. How dare you misuse the words "justice for all".
