Fine print at the top of each thread, under the thread topic before the comments.

Upper left side bar, tools and info. Lot of good stuff in the LGF dictionary.

Hey, why do these newbies get such a meaty thread when all we earlier ones got was stinky cheese? Oh wait, not necessarily stinky, there are many cheeses that have fine odor...and toasted cheese can be fine, unless it is raclette, then it is fine if you don't have to smell! Sorry for this post, I just got stuck in the twirling circle of death and I am dizzy.

61 lostlakehiker  Mon, Nov 17, 2008 6:30:56pm

The thing to watch out for is being insulting. Flashpoint topics such as global warming, evolution/creationism, Islam, and generally third-rail topics can set a fellow off. Why, I've been disagreed with time and again, and that's insulting. Those idjits should realize that they know nothing and that I'm right all the time on everything. I never even make a speling misteak. Not a wun.

Murdoch to media: You dug yourself a huge hole

To make his point, Murdoch criticized the media reaction after bloggers debunked a "60 Minutes" report by former CBS anchor, Dan Rather, that President Bush had evaded service during his days in the National Guard.

"Far from celebrating this citizen journalism, the establishment media reacted defensively. During an appearance on Fox News, a CBS executive attacked the bloggers in a statement that will go down in the annals of arrogance. '60 Minutes,' he said, was a professional organization with 'multiple layers of checks and balances.' By contrast, he dismissed the blogger as 'a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.' But eventually it was the guys sitting in their pajamas who forced Mr. Rather and his producer to resign.

"Mr. Rather and his defenders are not alone," he continued. "A recent American study reported that many editors and reporters simply do not trust their readers to make good decisions. Let's be clear about what this means. This is a polite way of saying that these editors and reporters think their readers are too stupid to think for themselves."

Any lizards out therehave anything funny to share? I've had a pretty lousy day... :(

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for SocialSecurity. The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver’s license toverify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.
I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later. The woman said, ‘Unbutton your shirt’. So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair..
She said, ‘That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me’ and she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.

She said, ‘you should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too.’

And then the fight started…

I myself must confess that I derive pleasure from clicking "Ignore" when the spell-checker prompts for "Obama".

LOL!

Don't look now but you just outed yourself as a sockie.

As a newly hatched sock puppet, I am surprised to learn Cognito was banned. When did this happen?

I saw the name and couldn't help myself - I damn near outed myself immediately!

A couple of nights ago.
If you go to the search feature upper right corner, select "more options", select "comments" and do a a search for "user:Cognito", if you really want to find where and how it happened.

Thanks for the user:xxxxxxxx tidbit. Researching the whacking now.

re: #409 Guglielmo Priapo

I thought Cogs was coming around a bit lately. I have gotten into it a couple of times with him, but I guess he could stand just being a voice of discension. Why do so many of them have to be idiots too?

He isn't an idiot. He was acting stupid. Not trying to be hard on you, but the difference matters. Its both sad and lame when someone who aught to no better runs themselves into the ground.

Most of us are in our underwear.

Noam is usually naked, but that's a whole other topic.

If somebody absolutely must be naked, it's probably best that they're usually naked.

If they were unusually naked, then Guglielmo Priapo, (Ex-Presidente) may get excited.

I totally agree, I don't think Cogs was stupid at all. He certainly was spirited in his defenses and made us all work a little when debating him. That's why i think he was behaving like an idiot....
