Fine print at the top of each thread, under the thread topic before the comments.

Upper left side bar, tools and info. Lot of good stuff in the LGF dictionary.

Hey, why do these newbies get such a meaty thread when all we earlier ones got was stinky cheese? Oh wait, not necessarily stinky, there are many cheeses that have fine odor...and toasted cheese can be fine, unless it is raclette, then it is fine if you don't have to smell! Sorry for this post, I just got stuck in the twirling circle of death and I am dizzy.

61 lostlakehiker  Mon, Nov 17, 2008 6:30:56pm

The thing to watch out for is being insulting. Flashpoint topics such as global warming, evolution/creationism, Islam, and generally third-rail topics can set a fellow off. Why, I've been disagreed with time and again, and that's insulting. Those idjits should realize that they know nothing and that I'm right all the time on everything. I never even make a speling misteak. Not a wun.

Murdoch to media: You dug yourself a huge hole

To make his point, Murdoch criticized the media reaction after bloggers debunked a "60 Minutes" report by former CBS anchor, Dan Rather, that President Bush had evaded service during his days in the National Guard.

"Far from celebrating this citizen journalism, the establishment media reacted defensively. During an appearance on Fox News, a CBS executive attacked the bloggers in a statement that will go down in the annals of arrogance. '60 Minutes,' he said, was a professional organization with 'multiple layers of checks and balances.' By contrast, he dismissed the blogger as 'a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.' But eventually it was the guys sitting in their pajamas who forced Mr. Rather and his producer to resign.

"Mr. Rather and his defenders are not alone," he continued. "A recent American study reported that many editors and reporters simply do not trust their readers to make good decisions. Let's be clear about what this means. This is a polite way of saying that these editors and reporters think their readers are too stupid to think for themselves."

Any lizards out therehave anything funny to share? I've had a pretty lousy day... :(

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for SocialSecurity. The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver’s license toverify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.
I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later. The woman said, ‘Unbutton your shirt’. So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair..
She said, ‘That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me’ and she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.

She said, ‘you should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too.’

And then the fight started…

I can't believe this is in NewsWeek.....
Is Obama the Antichrist?

Before Christ comes again, those who are saved will ascend to heaven, according to this end-times theology, in a huge, upward whoosh called the Rapture. Strandberg is so certain that the Rapture is coming, he's bought a number of Internet addresses in addition to RaptureReady: AntiAntichrist, Tribulationus and RaptureMe. In the event that RaptureReady crashes during the apocalypse, anyone who needs an update will, with a simple Google search, be able to get one. Strandberg says Obama probably isn't the Antichrist, but he's watching the president-elect carefully. On his Web site, he has something called the Rapture Index, a calculation based on signs and prophecy of the proximity of the end. According to Strandberg, any number over 160 means "fasten your seat belts." Obama's win pushed the index to 161.

Looks like Obama's going to have a $350 billion to play with for Christmas:

Source: Paulson Tells Congress Obama Will Control Half of Bailout Funds

WASHINGTON — The outgoing Bush administration has told top lawmakers it does not plan to use at least half of the $700 billion bailout fund that Congress approved this fall to aid the financial industry, congressional officials said Monday.

The Treasury Department denied the claim, but stopped short of saying the funds would be tapped.

The congressional officials said Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson passed the word over the weekend that he intends to leave $350 billion untouched when the administration leaves office on Jan. 20. That would mean the incoming Obama administration would decide whether and how the funds should be spent.

Ho boy, hand outs for every left wing loon group known to the moonbat world.

Our two year old earned a nic name last night. Beans, as in full of beans. Wasn't fussy or cranky or acted sleepy, just wanted to have mom to herself without the other kids.

I don't remember all the details, but a Hell's Angel and couple of other guys (don't remember which MC) wrote out their wills before going into a convention and starting shooting. I guess you could call writing out your will in tandem with other people counts as a war council, too.

Pagans ...bad boys ...

[Link: www.jcs-group.com...]

The Pagans nodded and shook each other’s hands. Anticipating the worst, two had recently completed their wills. Others were wearing bulletproof vests. When Katona gave the word at roughly 3 p.m., they filed out into 10 vans, armed with baseball bats, ax handles, and knives. They had a bone to pick.

Today was a good day for me. There is a mountain that I climb once a week. I drive my car a short distance to a place where the State Park begins, then do my hike up the mountain. From that peak I can see 3 other mountains (Hamilton, Diablo and Tamalpais), and with almost unlimited visibility out to the Pacific Ocean like today, I can see the Farallon Islands.

Today I dispensed with the car. Walked from my house to the top of the mountain. That added 4 miles of city streets and about 5 thousand additional feet change in elevation, carrying a 12 lb rucksack.

I am pooped.

Hey, I've been to So Cal, does that count?

Looks like you both are in the smoking section... : )

Something burning, I thought it was a bit smoggy.

I thought one of the Angels had an Uzi. I don't know whether it's my faulty memory or if that's the way the MSM reported the guy with a semi-automatic pistol.

I also remember the thing in Copenhagen with the RPG. Those dudes are all kind of serious.

You not losing it ...

As the Pagans fled, 100 police cruisers and two helicopters swarmed the scene. When they stopped and searched all 10 vans as well as the Vanderbilt, they found nearly 500 weapons, including a loaded Uzi, handguns and knives, a lipstick container with a hidden blade, plus “a large amount of cocaine.”

OMG!

I didn't give the hatchlings the BOOK CATEGORY OF THE SPIN-OFF LINKS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.

/I guess, they'll just have to catch it on the next book thread.

re: #759 JacksonTn

Serious people. I saw someone once around here that had Angels colors on their car, but I don't think we have a chapter around here. Outlaws, yes. Quite a few. And I used to work with a guy who was Southern Sons, I generally take a live and let live approach to them all.

Wow, 760 deep and I missed the mayhem. Guess I shouldn't have walked the dogs after Dexter.

Maybe Charles can go back in time and make a thread out of that.

Dang. he just did!

Oh yea, so he did. The Lizard King knows all...

I remember Thom.

One of my least favorites was Robert Brandtjen(sp?).
I think he bit the dust here...

Right Wing Conspirator, IIRC.

Yep, EvolutionsEve was RWC's long-term alter ego. He's a good guy and definitely one of the Discarded Lies regulars that I'm going to miss now that I'm banned there.
