This is from Keith Jarrett’s masterpiece DVD, Tokyo Solo. A beautiful recording in every sense of the word; I believe all the music for this performance was improvised.

Can we donate Karma points to those who are in the red?
How about if they buy them?
Sort of like Cap and Trade.

Utopia!

Sage I am an old Utopia fan, I saw a string of concerts in the 70's including one that he made into part of an album. Good times and good friends, mate!
Charles, very mellow music!

Hey! How do you get to Tokyo Solo?

8 Sharmuta  Thu, Nov 20, 2008 5:13:23pm

Beautiful, but difficult to dance to. Still- it was exceptionally beautiful, so I give it a 9.5.

Charles...what a beautiful and soothing alternative for the LGF faithful that brings a bit of respite from the dreary drone by the MSM about the state of the world...

Thanks Charles, is this on Itunes?

I don't think a CD version is released. I only have it on DVD. It sounds incredible in 5.1 surround.

He's really feeling it. Beautiful.

17 Jay777  Thu, Nov 20, 2008 5:30:17pm

Thank you for this music Charles. I really enjoyed it. I would love to hear your suggestions in the jazzy rock area like Bela Fleck and the Flecktones kind of stuff.

yes, it subdivides as 5,5,5,3
or maybe 2,2,1,2,2,1,2,2,1,2,1
Would not want to conduct that one.

LOL
the only person to pull off 18/8 time would have been Zappa..
Even then..It would have been kind of weird.

What a perfect way to close out a tense evening when things are so uncertain, a true reminder of simple beauty and joy to be found, regardless of what is going on elsewhere. You have blessed us time and again, Charles. Thank you. (I'm glad I can post to tell you that, finally : ^)

And another thread has appeared...

Thank you Charles. That was beautiful. I need to own this music. I've listened to a number of recordings on LGF but this one really touched me.

37 Wyatt Earp  Thu, Nov 20, 2008 9:06:19pm

Terrific. Truly terrific.

38 Grandma  Thu, Nov 20, 2008 9:17:28pm

I loved that! I wish I had the ability, much less the talent to play a piano and make it sing like that. I’ll just have to be happy I can hear and be content with the listening.

39 DLDoan  Thu, Nov 20, 2008 9:43:33pm

Very relaxing, but, ummm, he looks constipated through quite a bit of it.
