Hey, the war's over, isn't it? We don't have any more enemies, now that we've seen the LIGHT (bringer).

Give 'em a suit and $5 and turn 'em loose.

5 FightingBack  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:25:09pm

Build another camp, in, say, far Northern Alaska, and house them there.

6 IslandLibertarian  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:25:32pm

Load em up with "Bling" and drop em in South Central, one at a time............

/I was born in the 'Hood..........

If they come to the Bureau of Prisons, Prislam will be more violent and supremacist than ever. Don your riot gear...sorry, protective equipment.

8 Ozark Mountain Daredevil  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:26:49pm

Has LGF all of a sudden slowed to a crawl for anyone else?

9 Racer X  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:26:51pm

LMAO!

I thought I would be the only one voting for the tent on the white house lawn.

10 Sol Roth  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:27:37pm

Has LGF all of a sudden slowed to a crawl for anyone else?

Me too - I reloaded seems fine.

17 Empire1  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:28:51pm

I really like the tent city idea, but it's not going to happen, and I'm afraid trying them will get them acquitted by moonbat juries and turned loose here. That leaves the send 'em home option, which isn't good, but might get them killed by political or personal opponents.

18 Sommerfeld  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:28:58pm

re: #5 FightingBack

Build another camp, in, say, far Northern Alaska, and house them there.

I'd put the camp on an island in the aleutians so they can't get very far if they escape.

Pelosi, Reid, Murtha all have guest rooms I'm sure, make them share the wealth.

21 Last Mohican  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:29:47pm

President Bush should release all of the detainees, with no restrictions whatsoever, within the United States. Specifically, one should be released each morning in each New York City firehouse.

re: #16 Racer X

Me too - I reloaded seems fine.

Arrgh!

Not fine.

Hamsters!

23 Killian Bundy  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:30:29pm

Well, since, for the most part, their home countries won't accept them back and, because of national security concerns, most of them can never be charged, let alone tried in civilian courts . . .

/White House lawn seems to be the only other option

24 anti-looter  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:31:30pm

How about sending them to our friends in the Northern Alliance, I am sure that they would be treated well in their hands.

25 FightingBack  Fri, Nov 21, 2008 5:31:33pm

Really, can't we think of anyplace worse than the Caribbean?
Or DC? (Ok, maybe not.)

Tent city was a clear winner, for the record.

The options were:

Release them to their home countries

Try them in the US criminal justice system

House them in a tent city on the White House lawn

We all know exactly what is going to happen. You don't need to be a legal scholar to predict that a) they will be introduced to the same legal system that we citizens enjoy b) some of them will be acquitted, due to process or technical reasons c) their home countries of origin will not want them back d) they will be moving in to Section 8 Housing somewhere near you and I and finally e) they will be driving a cab with your mother in law in it.

I see the Obama kids are going to a fundamentalist school in DC. Interesting.

Maybe they'll learn the fundamentals of education, like reading, writing and arithmetic, rather than learning how to put a condom on a banana so they won't be "punished" with a baby when they're older.

First Military Execution Since 1961...

A U.S. soldier convicted of rape and murder two decades ago will be executed December 10 in the nation's first military execution since 1961, the Army said Thursday.
Pvt. Ronald Grey has been held in Fort Leavenworth's death row since 1988.

Pvt. Ronald Gray has been on the military's death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, since 1988. A court-martial panel sitting at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, unanimously convicted him of committing two murders and other crimes in the Fayetteville, North Carolina, area, and sentenced him to death.

Charles, as has been said this will become a horrible media and judicial mess if we try these bilge-rats in American courts. Send them back to their country of origin with lots of plastered to the merchandise proclaiming "toxic material", handle accordingly!

Their home countries won't accept them, for the most part, or they'd already be there.

/and you can forget about trying most of them in civilian courts, the potential revelation of classified material will prohibit it

We took a road trip from NJ when I was a high school junior to play them in football. We stayed in the homes of the players. They broke us up so I was not with my friends but with one of the Senior co-captains. A great player but mean as hell. He broke the nose of the kid we stayed with the next day. I see the Quakers as left wing versions of the most right wing conservative fundy.

Sidwell Friends is theoretically a Quaker school. In reality, it is, as Nevergiveup says, a rich kids preppy school, with no particular religious orientation. I have known many of its graduates. It has excellent academic standards, and the kids maintain a great quality of life, with plenty of excellent, well-funded parties, hanging out, drinking beer, smoking pot, and hooking up with one another.

Children of the rich and powerful in DC either go to Sidwell Friends, or to St. Albans/National Cathedral School (St. Albans is the boys' school, and NCS is the girls' school). St. Albans/NCS also has excellent academic standards, but it's more formal. I believe they wear uniforms. Still plenty of great parties and hooking up.

The chance of Obama's kids going anywhere but Sidwell Friends was absolutely zero.

Since this is now an open thread, I just have to relate that my husband went to a gun show this afternoon, looking for magazines for his new rifle. In years past he walked right in--on Saturday. Today was a Friday, during the day, and it was twenty minutes to park and another forty to buy his ticket. Obama is enlivening one segment of the economy.

I agree. There is absolutely no reason not to send all these prisoners back to their county of origin--or shoot them, if one actually follows the Geneve Conventions. The Uighurs, who were supposed to be let go into American society, should be returned to their country of origin, China. Why not? It would be a good lesson to all who think that the Geneva Conventions means peace, love, rainbows, and unicorns.

Most people who want to protect inhabitants of Guantanamo have never actually bothered to study the tiniest bit of international law.

I was listening to some weepy interview on NPR yesterday about the poor Algerians picked up in Bosnia. My question was: why weren't they sent back to Algeria? If they were such nice people, they could buy another ticket for Bosnia. Why not? This question was never asked on weepy NPR. Boohoo.

re: #18 Sommerfeld

I'd put the camp on an island in the aleutians so they can't get very far if they escape.

I can just see them pleading to go back to the warm and comfortable climate
in Guantanamo Bay. If they were placed on Atka Island (World War II air force base and current civilian population ~100) with an appropriate military contingent it would be almost as difficult as it is currently for the moonbat population to gain access and given structures necessary for local climate there would be little to see or photograph. Depending on how one interprets the law, internment on another military base might not put them in immediate legal reach of the civilian court system. I'm beginning to.. uh...warm to this idea.

-Gallatin
