No. It's a commission! It's only a kick-back if sites like DailyKos and HuffPo do it!

Yes! Full disclosure - there's a filter in the LGF Blog code that adds that referrer information to every Amazon link. Goes toward server fees, etc. (but rarely pays for it).

14 realwest  Thu, Nov 27, 2008 4:27:28pm

Hey all y'all - got a few minutes before we eat (again!) and thought how nice it'd be to spend 'em with all y'all!

17 Charles  Thu, Nov 27, 2008 4:31:25pm

Just happened to be messing with that code, in fact -- here are the regular expressions that catch the varying Amazon URLs and replace them with ours:

$amazonlinks = array(
'%amazon\.com/gp/product/(.+?)/(.+?)"%is',
'%amazon\.com/(.+?)/dp/(.+?)/(.+?)"%is',
'%amazon\.com/(.+?)/dp/(.+?)"%i'
);

$amazonlinkslgf = array(
'amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/\\1/littlegreenfo-2 0"',
'amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/\\2/littlegreenfo-2 0"',
'amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/\\2/littlegreenfo-2 0"'
);

You're certainly not alone in that Kilgore. From individuals to corporations, cash is king at present. Those who don't have some are in a very precarious position.

42 realwest  Thu, Nov 27, 2008 4:53:32pm

LOL!, loved this bit from the classical toys link:

Jakks Pacific Inc. has brought back several classic brands this year, including a 25th anniversary Cabbage Patch Kid doll that is the replica of the original version and a new Smurfs plush toy and DVD.

"During these times, parents want to remember something positive to share with their family now more than ever," says Tom Delaney, senior vice president of marketing for Jakks' Play Along division. Classic toys "bring parents and grandparents back to their childhood memories of a simpler time," he said.

That's why Elizabeth Peterson, 39, from Redondo Beach, Calif., bought an Easy-Bake Oven - first introduced in the 1960s - for the holidays. The mother of a 2 1/2-year-old boy and a 10-month-old boy admits she might be jumping the gun a bit but couldn't resist.

"I never got one when I was little, and all my friends had one," she said. "I'm probably going to be the one playing with it."

Maybe someone should alert Sharmuta that there are new smurf plush toy available!
And I can't believe that it's been 25 years since that annoying Cabbage Patch doll came out!

he's been at it just over 3 years now. Picked it up as an elective when he went into 6th grade (middle school ochestra) Decided in 7th and 8th to stick with it, always using the schools instrument. Now that he's in 9th (in a private school) they don't HAVE ochestra, so he wanted to keep playing. He started private lessons 2 months ago, and seeing that it looks like he's staying with it we bought him 3/4

Like car accidents aren't bad enough without the vehicles falling several thousand feet.

Judging by the current rate of car accidents, I see that people have yet to master driving in 2 dimensions, so I don't want to picture what happens when a 3rd is added!

I Googled that title ("HP mini-computer") and I don't find really any reference. Do you know the actual product name or model number. I don't think that's the actual way the product is refered to.
