You try to play cool
Like you just don’t care
But soon I’ll be playin’ in your
Underwear
I’m like the mage
With the magic spell
You come like a dog
When I ring yo’ bell
I got the money
And I got the fame
You got the hots
To ride on my plane
You givin’ me all
That I desire
’Cos down with me
I’m taking you higher
I’m the baddest of the bad
I’m the best that you’ve ever had
I’m the tops, I’m the king
All the girls get up when I sing, yeah
I’m the meanest in the place
Step up, I’ll mess with your face
I don’t care where you are
Look up and follow the star.
I, I’m gonna tear down the wall
I may not be here when you call
So best be givin’ me your all.(ooo)
After the havoc that I’m gonna wreak
No more words will critics have to speak
I’ve got the answers to the tangled knot
Sleep tight in your cot.
Oh baby,
I’ve been told I’m goin’ crazy.
Oh baby,
But I can’t be held down.
Oh baby,
Somehow I'm keeping it steady.
Oh baby,
I’m tearin up this town.
Hey, this is what I like,
Cut my heart with a modern spike.
Hey, this is nothing new,
I’ve got more than enough for you.
I can take on anybody
I can do my thing
I don’t wanna hurt nobody
But a bee has got'ta sting
I’ma fix it if you mix it up (Hoo, hoo)
Talk smack, and I’ma gonna shut you up. (Hoo, hoo)
I am the greatest man that ever lived
I was born to give. (I was born to give.)
I am the greatest man that ever lived, oh
Radioactive (Radioactive)
Somebody said all the worlds is stage,
And each of us is a player.
That’s what I’ve been tryin to tell you.
In Act 1 I was struggling to survive.
Nobody wanted my action dead or alive.
Act 2, I hit the big time.
And bodies be all up on my behind.
And I can’t help myself because I was born to shine.
And if you don’t like it, you can shove it.
But you don’t like it, you love it.
So I’ll be up here in a rage,
’Til they bring the curtain down on the stage.
I’m the greatest man that ever lived...
I’m the greatest man that ever lived...
I’m the greatest man that ever lived...
I am the greatest man that ever lived
I was born to give and give and give.
I am the greatest man that ever lived
Radioact... (Dioact...) Dioact.. (Dioactive)
I am the greatest man that ever lived.
I was born to give.
That stumped me for a second. I was listening to the clip thinking, 'Well, sounds like Weezer. But...it doesn't look like Weezer. Where's Rivers?' LoL!
Love this one...Say It Ain't So
As the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, anti-totalitarian and climate change sceptic, prepares to take up the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, climate alarmists are doing their best to traduce him.
The New York Times opened a profile of Klaus, 67, this week with a quote from a 1980s communist secret agent's report, claiming he behaves like a "rejected genius", and asserts there is "palpable fear" he will "embarrass" the EU.
Me too. Look at it this way - both of us helped prevent or delay a recession in the memory chip business in order to run the 1958 Chevy of Operating systems. That is all.

I'm using Vista now, but I guarantee you that my next computer will be a Mac.
The salient thing about most pop music for the last 20 years or so, is that often the Studio itself, (and possibly the Engineer) are part of the overall musical composition. Which is all well and good, but seeing as how most bands make their money selling tickets at gigs, and not so much by record sales, how do they pull the song off live?
Do they sing with recorded tracks? Or is it all lip synch? Both are possible.
Nobody check out Rodrigo y Gabriela? Latin style rockish acoustic guitar. Gabriela bangs her guitar like a drum and plays at the same time, she's brilliant.

Haven't you seen the engineer at the mixer during concerts? There is ALWAYS someone at the mixer going for the best sound, making sure it still sounds good live (compare a tight studio to a big expansive arena). In this Korn/Papa Roach/Powerman 5000 concert I went to there was this big mixer booth in the very center and a man behind the controls.
I love all music that I believe is well intentioned and well performed. I am trying the get the laundry done. See y'all tomorrow. Or in twenty minutes.

I heard the Stones life in 1969, they did not sound at all like their records, as a matter of fact I had a hard time to recognize the songs,...but, so had Keith...
(they were better in 73 and 82 when I saw them life again)
Wow do I feel old (51, way more in dog years). The last CD I bought was the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden." It's the newest thing in my collection- after that the newest is ten years old. I must be getting calcified. Just because it's old doesn't make it good (Google Tiny Tim sometime-) but the new stuff just doesn't do it for me.
Yes, of course, they usually have one or two guys for mains and likewise for the monitor mixes.
But the effects on this particular composition are studio dubs of entirely different sounding ensembles, blended in with the acoustic stuff.
I am guessing they pull it off with tracks. Guy in the booth pushes a button, and a whole new event happens.
I know they do a lot things that way on Broadway now.

I saw them in 94 and they were good. I trust that memory since I was really young and not yet going deaf from all the loud music I was listening too, lol.

They're already working on Windows 7. It makes me feel kind of stupid for spending money on Vista.
"Clag" -
Don't worry about it. The "Big 7" will be to Vista as XP was to ME - an OS that IS what the preceding one Should Have Been and an easy upgrade for +/- $99.95. Don't believe that "Big 7" will require more memory than Vista. If it does, I pass.
I guess it has been a while since I went to a live rock concert, I mean in the audience.
Last one was Prince, the "Purple Rain" tour, at the Cow Palace.
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, maybe, but certainly not the greatest music video ever made.
I hope that's not the official video; just a guy with a steady cam walking around the band? Boooring.

yep, they're now actually able to play their songs the way they were recording them in the studio during the 60ies and early 70ies.
Way to go! I love them and it thrills me to see that Charlie Watts is closing in on 70,
still working with those sticks

Heh.
My last one was Marilyn Manson, last January at the Ram's Head - WITH TWIGGY on base. It was awesome, if you are a Manson fan, and probably excruciating if you're not.
The Mumbai attacks reminded me of a Private Sector, a novel written in the late 70s by Jeff Millar, a Houston Chronicle columnist. Terrorists (all wearing Halloween masks) take over a crowded movie theater on Super Bowl Sunday and demand the President cancel the game. Once the teams walk off the field, the theater erupts with the sounds of gunfire and the hostages all flee the building. One child is trampled in the melee. Police find the Halloween masks left behind.

Its a complicated pretentious almost Spinal Tap kind of rock song. I think the el cheapo video is part of the schtick.
This is big news. Rice beat Houston 56-42 for a 9-3 season. Rumor is they will play Notre Dame in the Houston Bowl.
Woohoo! Back in my day the Owls were the basement of the SWC.
Well, the last concert I went to was Head East. 1987, 1988? Something like that. Wow- amazing that it's been that long, or that I haven't been interested enough to go to a concert since. At least not interested enough to pay the prices they want for tickets now.
It is really tough to find good versions of that hymn. People try to jazz it up and add lots of stuff. Simple works best.
Jazzing it up would certainly nonpluss the Shakers. Believe it or not, there are a handful left. When they pass away, there won't be any more, since they no longer accept new members.
I do like the version that is combined with Lord of the Dance. Those two melodies mix nicely.

Used to live on the campus ... that's way cool news! Fun fun!

As Foghorn Leghorn would say about you: " YER BUILT TOO LOW SON - THAT ONE WENT RIGHT OVER YER HEAD ! " or " I SAY THERE'S A HOLE IN YER GLOVE SON - THAT ONE GOT RIGHT PAST YA"
Imma do the things that i wanna do
I ain't got a thing to prove to you
I'll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if i make a scene
I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like
I'm fine and dandy with the me inside
one look in the mirror and i'm tickled pink
I don't give a hoot about what you think
Amazingly, I was able to tolerate a full 1:38 of that shite before I had to turn it off. Some people really and truly do have absolutely no excuse for being allowed to continue breathing.
If you see him
Please remind him, unhappy boyfriend
Well he's the genius of love
He's got a greater depth of feeling
Well he's the genius of love
He's so deep.
What you gonna do when you get out of jail?
I'm gonna have some fun
What do you consider fun?
Fun, natural fun . . .
I'm in heaven
With the maven of funk mutation
Clinton's musicians such as Bootsy Collins
Raise expectations to a new intention
No one can sing
Quite like Smokey, Smokey Robinson
Wailin' and shakin' to Bob Marley
Reggae's expanding with Sly and Robbie
Has anyone besides me loaded Shazam into their Iphone? Yowsa, just hold the phone up the speaker of any radio playing any song that you want to know and it pegs it everytime. Even links to Youtube in case the band did a video. Nailed this cut in twenty seconds. Kudos to Apple!
