Terrorists Reject Carter

Jimmy Carter has finally found some terrorists who won’t hug him—because despite his long history of anti-Israel statements and actions, he’s just not antisemitic enough for them.

BEIRUT (AFP) – Lebanon’s militant group Hezbollah has refused to meet visiting former US president Jimmy Carter to discuss legislative elections set for the spring, Carter’s spokesman said on Wednesday.

“We have sought meetings with all the main parliamentary blocs and parties in the upcoming election and Hezbollah was one of those meetings we had requested,” Rick Jasculca, a spokesman for the Carter Center, told AFP. “Hezbollah declined the request,” he added without providing further detail.

Hezbollah officials contacted by AFP would not comment on Carter’s request for a meeting.

“Hezbollah does not meet with anyone from a US administration which supports Zionist terrorism,” said Mohamed Raad, head of Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc.

So, Jimmy Carter, who's now supposedly a private citizen and not in the employ of the US government as far as I'm aware, is being considered someone from a US administration? Interesting. How exactly did Hizbullah come to that conclusion?

Carter keeps claiming he's doing these trips as part of his Carter Center and not at the behest of the US gov't or the Obama transition team, so why would Hizbullah get the idea.

It's not like Carter hasn't met with multiple terrorists before either. He's met repeatedly with Hamas thugs, and has no problem meeting with Fatah thugs either. I guess Hizbullah has higher standards than both. /

Hezbollah, etc - do not want to give any appearance of conciliation with the west. That would include the 'O' which the Imams are already laying the groundwork to remind their followers that he's the enemy because of the people he represents.

I think Obama will likely give his muslim capital address in Jakarta given the current geographic events, favorable reception he would receive and his own personal history. It will be to no avail.

re: #44 CyanSnowHawk

Carter was training to be a Nuclear Qualified Officer. I am not aware that he was ever even assigned to a vessel, let alone commanded one.

Naval career
He attended Georgia Tech and Georgia Southwestern State University before receiving an appointment to the United States Naval Academy where he received a generic Bachelor of Science degree in 1946. He is the only graduate of the Naval Academy to become President.[6] Carter finished a high 59th out of his Academy class of 820. Carter served on surface ships and on diesel-electric submarines in the Atlantic and Pacific fleets. As a junior officer, he completed qualification for command of a diesel-electric submarine.
He applied for the U.S. Navy's fledgling nuclear submarine program run by then Captain Hyman G. Rickover. Rickover's demands on his men and machines were legendary, and Carter later said that, next to his parents, Rickover had the greatest influence on him.
Carter has said that he loved the Navy, and had planned to make it his career. His ultimate goal was to become Chief of Naval Operations. Carter felt the best route for promotion was with submarine duty since he felt that nuclear power would be increasingly used in submarines. After six years of military service, Carter trained for the position of engineer officer in submarine Seawolf, then under construction.[7] During service on the diesel-electric submarine, USS Pomfret, Carter was almost washed overboard.[8] Carter completed a non-credit introductory course in nuclear reactor power at Union College starting in March 1953. This followed Carter's first-hand experience as part of a group of American and Canadian servicemen who took part in cleaning up after a nuclear meltdown at Canada's Chalk River Laboratories reactor.[9][10]
Upon the death of his father, James Earl Carter, Sr., in July 1953, however, Lieutenant Carter immediately resigned his commission, and he was discharged from the Navy on October 9, 1953.[11][12] This cut short his nuclear powerplant operator training, and he was never able to serve on a nuclear submarine, since the first boat of that fleet, the USS Nautilus, was launched on January 17, 1955, over a year after his discharge from the Navy.[13]

re: #81 CIA Reject

I can't find the site right now but somewhere out there is a collection of stories from "Rickover Interviews" about the outrageous things he used to do to young officers who applied to the nuke program.

My favorite was about when he jumped up into a candidate's face and yelled "PISS ME OFF!" Whereupon the young man obediently took his arm and forcefully swept EVERYTHING off the admiral's desk onto the floor.

Knowing Rickover I think that guy probably got in...

I went to OCS Newport at the same time as the last group of nukes who were personally interviewed by Rickover. They all had stories.

To Hezbollah:

You are being totally unfair to Jimmy. He has proved over and over again that he is just as much an Israel hating scumbag as the rest of you.

Why are you denying him the company he so cherishes, that of barbaric terrorists who want who plot to kill Jews.

Allah will not forgive you. Jimmy has earned the trust of Islamic killers everywhere.

The version I heard had the candidate smashing the Admiral's model of the Nautilus on his desk. There is likely some naval mythology in that story.

Carter was never even an officer on a nuclear sub, much less command one. He dropped out of the nuclear officers' school when his father died, so he could go home and take over the family peanut business. The Nautilus had not even been commissioned at that point in time.

re: #50 shanec99

I don't think Carter is anti-semetic, I just think he is an old Liberal whose stupidity and ignorance becomes more obvious every time he speaks.

Carter is both a theological antisemite and a political antisemitie. For his theological antisemitism, see

[Link: pajamasmedia.com...]

and

[Link: 76.12.0.56...]

and

[Link: www.israellycool.com...]

and

His political antisemitism is well documented with a double standard for the so -called alleged crimes of the Jews always portrayed in the worse possible light while contrasted to the time-immemorial victims of the Jews, the Palestinians.

134 MJ  Wed, Dec 10, 2008 10:14:36am

I think you're right. Anyone at this stage who refuses to see Carter's antisemitism, his core belief that only evil emanates from the Jews, his obsession with Jews, his belief that Jews have no right to defend themselves, simply doesn't want to see it and would rather pretend that Carter is a victim of the Jews.

Well, he wrote a book called Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid where he accuses Israel of using Apartheid to suppress palestinians, but completely ignores Palestinian anti christian, and anti jewish laws and practices.

In the book he completely ignores the facts about Palestinian civil rights in Israel and makes up his own perceptions of persecution.

ISTR somebody here putting me straight on that- apparently Jimmy was in nuke school when his father died so he resigned his commission to go home and run the family farm.

So he never made it through the program let alone to command of a boat.

At least that's what I heard...

I heard that he failed the submariner equivalent of the Kobayashi Maru scenario. It was explained to me that at some point early in his first command, a submarine commander is put into a situation where he has to fire his nukes (of course the whole thing is staged). Jimmah refused to fire and was quietly eased out of the service as being useless.

In case there is any doubt about the fanatic antisemitism of Jimmy Carter, I saw it personally. In an interview with Bill Moyers, after lambasting American Jews for not being more sympathetic to the Palestinians, he referred to Jews as the "Chosen People", his voice dripping with venom, contempt and sarcasm. There can be *absolutely* no doubt he is a fanatic, bigoted, fire-breathing antisemite on a par with Duke, Farrakhan and Buchanan if not even worse.

As for this "snub" by Hezbollah, it's entirely possible it's all a contrived setup to try and make the little Jew-hating bastard look "even-handed".
