My initial thought was 'Ah! Finally the MSM is taking this seriously' and all seemed accurate until they showed some stock footage of some wicked looking belt-fed machine guns that were seized being displayed by police at a news conference and the voiceover ominously intoned 'Many of the weapons used in these crimes are smuggled in from the United States'. They mean to say there aren't enough smugglers or crooked cops or soldiers in Mexico who could 'accidentaly' leave the armory unlocked and unattended?

They also seemed to imply that the Calderon administration has blood on its hands for arresting the head of the Arellano-Felix cartel and not anticipating the power struggle among the remaining cartels.

sign up for everything free they give away, and get one for each account you have.

all of these actions cost them $$$, and there are other things you can do. when they announce events in your neighborhood, RSVP, then don;t bother showing up... it cuts down on the attendees, since most are limited seating, at least the one's i've seen.

it's not likely to stop them, but it will make them less efficient, and increase their overhead.

Was hoping to do a replica photo of the front of my house in EL Norte Hollywood.original pic 1947, (a foot of snow no less) with a 2008 version, but alas, the weather dumped snow in Malibu and the desert but not here. Still the wind chill is down to 36 degrees so I should get out and light a smudge-pot under my 60+ year old orange tree, least the frost expected attempts to kill it off... speaking of oranges...:)

The mechanic was testing the diesel and it ran fine, before blowing blue smoke.
The factory rep, spec'ed him the wrong pistons & the wrong rings.

He's replaced them, at his own expense, and hopefully all is well.
Waiting for it to get reinstalled.

Have found what may be battery problems in the meantime.
On the other hand, checked all my chain plates & they are perfect (look to have all been replaced in the last few years).

Will notify you ahead of time, when next I go down to work on the boat.

I didn't hear and see the whole thing-but yesterday/day b4(?), FNC was showing a clip about Drug Runners backing up to the BORDERFENCE with a dump truck. They raised the bed, powered down the tailgate-and crushed the fence. Bunches of their guys then started throwing bales of pot into the US, as the authorities pulled up. At this point, the DR's opened up with automatic weapons, torched the truck, and ALL got away. The cops recovered a large load of pot-but probably 1/2 to 2/3's of it was burned up.

Feds will try to freeze Blagojevich campaign cash

Federal prosecutors will try to freeze the money in Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s campaign account, according to a letter defense attorney Edward Genson said the political fund received this week.

If prosecutors are successful, the move would severely hamper Blagojevich’s ability to pay huge legal bills as he fights corruption charges in what could be a long-running court battle. The governor has been charged with two criminal counts in federal court, but has not been indicted yet.

Blagojevich considered moving money out of the fund to try to avoid having prosecutors seize it, authorities alleged in court documents last week.

Friends of Blagojevich reported $3.6 million on hand as of June 30, but still owed the law firm of Winston & Strawn $750,000, records showed. The governor has since parted ways with the firm and hired Genson.

The flip side of this coin is that Blago will attempt to stick the taxpayer with his defense costs. Since AT Lisa Madigan made her failed attempt to get Blago tossed out of office by the State Supreme Court, she obviously is biased.

This is an absolute circus.

Reporters are running into Blago here and there around the area as he goes jogging in the snow. One reporter talked to him yesterday as Blago was jogging down Irving Park Road in the snow.

Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.

Emanuel talked with the governor in the days following the Nov. 4 election and pressed early on for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett to the post, sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun-Times. There was no indication from sources that Emanuel brokered a deal, however.

A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.

But sources with knowledge of the investigation said Blagojevich told his aides about the calls with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Sources said that early on, Emanuel pushed for the appointment of Jarrett to the governor and his staff and asked that it be done by a certain date.

At least some of the conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich were likely caught on tape, sources said.

We were talking about this yesterday on a thread and it has to do with the word "idle". If a plant is idled, per their contract, they receive a large portion of their regular pay - didn't know it was 95% though - that's ridiculous.

Fox was saying this AM that they normally shut down (probably "idle") normally two weeks every year at this time.
