A Very Special Christmas Message, Brought to You by British Channel 4

Who better to deliver the “alternative” Christmas message on Britain’s Channel 4 than a virulently antisemitic Islamic fanatic who wants to wipe out Israel?

Iran’s Ahmadinejad to give alternative Christmas message.

Unbelievable. What the hell is wrong with Channel 4?

Channel 4’s “alternative” Christmas Day broadcast is to be delivered by President Ahmadinejad of Iran.

Mr Ahmadinejad’s speech will go out at 7.15pm, four hours after the Queen’s traditional Christmas Day message is broadcast on the main channels. His message is a spiritual one but includes some more nakedly political elements - including the implicit claim that if Jesus Christ were alive today, he would oppose US hegemony.

“If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers,” Mr Ahmadinejad will say in a speech to be shown in Farsi with English subtitles.

“If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over. If Christ was on Earth today undoubtedly he would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as He did in His lifetime.”

The same thing that's been wrong with the media for some time now. They're morally bankrupt and couldn't recognize good from evil, and somehow believe that good defending itself from evil is the same as evil attacking the good.

21 lawhawk  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 10:10:08am

As I noted in the last thread, the NYT is running a photo of the terrorists in action - preparing to fire another kassam against Israel, and doesn't bother to show photos of the damage done by the same terrorists and their ilk. Just imagine the outcry if Israel responds and kills the terror cell and the photographer doing the terror propaganda; it's still more propaganda for the terrorists since the evil Israelis killed Palestinians and the journalists covering their side of the story, even though the media refuses to show that the terrorists seek nothing less than Israel's destruction.

In full: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's 'alternative' Christmas message

Fortunately, today, as crises and despair multiply, a wave of hope is gathering momentum. Hope for a brighter future and hope for the establishment of justice, hope for real peace, hope for finding virtuous and pious rulers who love the people and want to serve them – and this is what the Almighty has promised.

We believe, Jesus Christ will return, together with one of the children of the revered Messenger of Islam and will lead the world to love, brotherhood and justice. The responsibility of all followers of Christ and Abrahamic faiths is to prepare the way for the fulfilment of this divine promise and the arrival of that joyful, shining and wonderful age. I hope that the collective will of nations will unite in the not too distant future and with the grace of the Almighty Lord, that shining age will come to rule the earth.

He has a bad case of Hopenchange.

Nobody forget that their Jesus Christ is not the same as the Christian Jesus Christ.

We (as Christians) believe in the Divinity of Jesus. They claimed him only as a human prophet of Allah. I cannot stress enough how huge that difference is.

Don't fall for the "similarities" argument. The religions are quite different.

Oops, I forgot the change quotes...

Today, the general will of nations is calling for fundamental change. This is now taking place. Demands for change, demands for transformation, demands for a return to human values are fast becoming the foremost demands of the nations of the world. The response to these demands must be real and true. The prerequisite to this change is a change in goals, intentions and directions. If tyrannical goals are repackaged in an attractive and deceptive package and imposed on nations again, the people, awakened, will stand up against them.

Change!

The communists (and their unknowing sympathizers) in Britain (and the West in general) will gobble up Ahmadinejad's message with glee. He knows exactly which Marxist buzzwords to use to give all the Western traitors that funny feeling in the pants.

Think Ahmadinejad and his advisors are stupid? Think again. He's using the West's own pathology against it. Of course, he uses this verbiage to cover up his own utterly totalitarian mindset. But hey, let's not facts spoil the atmosphere! He used our buzzwords! Swoon.

Sgt. Major Andrew Stockton gave the Christmas message last year.

Channel 4's alternative Christmas message will be delivered by a former soldier who lost his arm during fighting in Afghanistan.

Sergeant Major Andrew Stockton will tell viewers about his experiences on the frontline and urge the public to support Britain's returning troops.

It will be the broadcaster's 15th alternative Christmas message, a slot previously taken by speakers including Brigitte Bardot, Ali G, Marge Simpson and the parents of murdered teenager, Stephen Lawrence.

Sgt Maj Stockton's arm was severed by a rocket-propelled grenade as he went to the aid of fellow soldiers ambushed in Helmand Province in June 2006. The 40-year-old was medically discharged from the Royal Artillery in September.

Remember, the British soldiers fighting alongside us have served well and sacrificed also, no matter how poorly they've been served by their politicians and forgotten by some of their countrymen. Some of them (soldiers) aren't too pleased about this either.

There are any number of local commercial radio stations.

re: #119 buzzsawmonkey

'Twas the night before Christmas, and straight from Iran
Ahmedinejad rambled, as only he can;
Though not a believer in Jesus per se
He spun Jesus' message the Islamic way
And lectured the Britons on what he would do
And what he would disapprove of, and of who
Jesus would select as objects of his wrath
(I.e., everyone in Ahmedinejad's path).
Britons scratched their heads, saying, "Why should we care?
Why does the BBC Channel 4 grant him time on the air?
It's not as though he's a believer in Christ
So why give him a forum to try and make nice?
We're celebrating the birth of a redeemer,
So why listen to this hostile Persian schemer?
To put this buffoon on a par with the Queen
Is more than absurd; it's really obscene."
And I heard them all say, as they turned off their sets,
"It's the stupidest thing BBC Channel 4has done yet."

Poetic licence and all, but hey, its not the Beeb, for once, who is putting a t*rd into the punchbowl ... so i had to corect this ...

I'm disgusted. It was one thing that they decided in years past, for noble enough reasons, to subvert Christmas subtly and mock the function of the Queen's Speech such as with a message from a muslimah. It is another thing allowing a clearly propagandist message from Ahmadinejad on grounds it is merely an "alternative to the Queen's Speech". I would hope the MoD is doing its best to intervene, and I will be taking a break from the channel.

Actually I don't disagree at all with this statement per se. It's just that people who say things like "if Christ were [not 'was'!] alive today, then ..." usually are at the top of the list of those he would condemn, if he were alive today.

And then, of course, there's the not-so-picky theological point that according to the Christian Church, Christ is very much alive today and it's up to human beings to manifest his love and mercy in the world as it is, not to wait around for him to come back and set everything right. That will happen too, but then it will be too late for the waiters (er, waitstaff?).

As to Channel 4, their picking Dinnerjacket to give an "alternative" Christmas message is like giving David Duke a follow-up opportunity to a speech by Elie Wiesel.

Probably someone above has already said it, but here goes:

Christ lived in an occupied territory, ruled by a bullying, war loving empire. Jesus lived in one of the most militant, expansionist, colonizing, tyrannical societies the world has ever known. The closest he came to politics or commenting about this despotic power was, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's."

He forgave the woman caught in adultery and about to be stoned, sending her on her way. When did Mohammad do that?

He said to love your enemies and to do good to those who mistreat you. When did Mohammad do that?

Peter took up a sword to defend Jesus. Jesus rebuked Peter and told him to throw down his sword. When did Mohammad tell anyone that?

Consider this classical idea: you become what you say - and do.

The extreme irony of ImaDinnerJacket's speech is that it actuallydescribes Iranian and Caliphate politics wildest dreams - about themselves. Who else could fit their own bill as perfectly in the "bullying expansionist etc" department, lining themselves up next to be hated by JC?

You can see other examples of this reflexive ironay abounding - say in the behaviour of Californian "anti gay-hate" practitioners. When you hate hatred, in other words, you have just successfuly hoist yourself on your own IED.

Even when it comes disguised as lovin' 'n carin' - "There is only one thing I hate: racism" - with a racist's hatred.

We should take a minute to remember why these rejoinders were started.
They started in the USA. They started during the first term of Pres. Ronald W. Reagan. The lefties in the press were aghast at how Pres. Reagan connected to the people, and so, they said 'fairness dictates that when the Pres gives a SOTU speech, the democrats must be given equal time" to debate or challenge the speech. So we are twenty five years down the libnut rabbit hole, so it was only a matter of time that evil dictators get to give XMas cheer to Anglophiles. I only wonder why Mugabe wasn't booked for the show? Maybe he had ring around the cholera?

Just read through the comments.

Channel 4 is a commercial company paid for by advertising revenue but does receive a subsidy which comes out of the licence fee which funds the BBC.

As to the anti-Brit comments, time again to re-iterate, life in the very moonbat media does not mirror life for the ordinary Brit. As I said on the newer post on this, hopefully this will embolden the mad mullahs here to get too big for their boots and let people see a more real side to them rather than the 'victimised misunderstood Asian' which the leftys portray them in the media as.

The Qur'an speaks of Jesus, but not of Jesus [the] Christ. The Christ is the Messiah, the Savior. That's what the word means. The Muslim Jesus was "merely" a messenger.

Surely referring to Jesus as the Christ must be blasphemous under Iranian law. Surely it represents a rejection of monotheism. Surely Ahmedinijad must be stoned.

Let's start a petition.
