Hamas: Israel Made Us Attack Them

Middle East | Wed, Dec 24, 2008 at 11:14:51 am PST

Hamas displays that unpleasant mix of jihadi warrior and whining crybaby that’s so distinctive of militant Islamic fanatics, complaining, “Israel is forcing us to fire these rockets.”

With Kassam rockets raining down on cities in the western Negev, including Ashkelon, the Hamas military wing lashed out at Israel late Wednesday, saying that it was Israel, and not the Islamic group, which was responsible for the escalation.

“The increasing stupidity of Israel is forcing us to intensify the rocket fire, and put thousands more Zionists in the line of fire in order to protect the Palestinian people,” a spokesperson for group’s military wing said.

Increasing stupidity of Israel

This is hard to argue with.

The stupidity of Israel isn't "forcing" them to launch rockets though... but it certainly is allowing them to.

Israel is forcing Hamas to continue holding Gilad Shalit too? They captured Shalit in order to force Israel to release hundreds of Palestinian terrorists, and when Israel refused to kowtow to the demands, the terrorists continue to hold him for more than 2.5 years.

The media continues to play useful idiots for Hamas, and Hamas knows that the media will not question Hamas propagandists who willingly portray Hamas as fighting a heroic struggle against the Israelis, even as Hamas fires kassams and mortars against Israeli civilians, plots terror attacks and invasions of its neighbors to further its own nihilistic agenda (all while the media focuses on Israel's measured and limited self-defense).

Hamas yet again question's Israel's existence - noting simply that Israel wouldn't come under rocket fire if it didn't exist. "Putting Zionists in the line of fire" would happen if the Zionists weren't there in the first place.

Thing is, Hamas will repeat that line ad nauseum regardless of the range of their rockets and missiles. If they had rockets that could hit the Golan from Gaza, they'd complain that the Zionists were in range and it was Israel's fault for being in the way.

It's Hamas' genocidal intent that shines through, and yet the media refuses to question this, but plays mouthpiece and regurgitates Hamas' genocidal intent.

This stance by Hamas will of coures be swalloed whole by the FMSM, because if 'Israel makes them do it', its quite obvious that they, Hamas are the true victims, because they can't help themselves - just like any other criminal today couldn't help himself or ehrself.

The true victim, the one who is really blleding and kicked to death - no pity, no mercy for him or her!
FMSM have taught us by now that the real victim is always the guilty one - he or she 'made the agressor do it'.

The Physics of Santa Claus

No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not COMPLETELY rule out flying reindeer which only Santa has ever seen.

There are 2 billion children (persons under 18) in the world. BUT since Santa doesn't (appear) to handle the Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist children, that reduces the workload to 15% of the total - 378 million according to the Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes there's at least one good child in each.

Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, and assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with good children, Santa has 1/1000th of a second to park, hop out of his sleigh, jump down the chimnye, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 91.8 million stops are evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course we know to be false but for the purpose of our calculations we will accept), we are now talking aabout .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us must do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding and etc. This means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second, 3000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second - a conventional reindeer can run, tops, 15 miles per hour.

The payload on the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium-sized lego set (2 pounds), the sleigh is carrying 321,300 tons, not counting Santa, who is invariably described as overweight. On land, conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 punds. Even granting that "flying reindeer" (refer to point #1) could pull TEN TIMES the normal load, we cannot do the job with eight, or even nine. We need 214,200 reindeer. This increases the payload - not even counting the weight of the sleigh - 353,430 tons. Again, for comparison - this is four times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth.

353,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecrafts re-entereing the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer will absorb 14.3 QUINTILLION joules of energy per SECOND, EACH! In short, hey will burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and create a deafening sonic boom in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousanths of a second. Santa, meanwhile, will be subjected to centrifugal* forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250 pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of his sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force.

Israel decides that are not going to do anything effective:

It came after the Security Cabinet approved the security establishment's recommendation that Israel respond to rocket attacks at the time and scale of its choosing. A media blackout was placed on the other details of the Security Cabinet discussion.

Nevertheless, Channel 1 reported that while the cabinet decided that there would be response, it ruled out retaking the Strip.

Its a good answer to my rhetorical question.

I think apart from the obvious insanity of doing the same thing again and again, but expecting a different outcome, the REAL reason why Israel keeps agreeing to these idiotic truces with HAMAS is because its politically expedient to do so.

For one thing, Israel is full of unrepentant liberals, who (despite all evidence to the contrary) still think that the Palestinians would "play nice" if only Israel would do the same.

And Israel simply doesn't want to be perceived as being the obstacle to peace among the rest of the world's liberals who have the same belief (again despite considerable evidence to the contrary).

So even though HAMAS invariably attacks Israel during these "truces" and Israel generally retaliates, the fig leaf of the "truce" is mutually beneficial.

That's a nice generalization, and its hard to disagree with it.

But SPECIFICALLY, what would you have Israel do that it isn't already doing?

Short of annexing Gaza by force of arms, and driving all the Gazans into Egypt, personally I can't think of anything. And although that sort of action has a certain appeal, its a non-starter for any number of reasons.

That's out of self-interest too.

Having the place run by a corrupt kleptocracy leads to a certain ease of income. Embezzlement, legal monopolies, and nepotism are easy. Having to actually earn your money in a free marketplace? That's just work. . .work. . .work all the time.

But SPECIFICALLY, what would you have Israel do that it isn't already doing?

The PM must give a speech in which he clearly and specifically tells the World- not Hamas or the other barbarians but the World- that the NY Times can start writing condemning editorials and the State Dept can start issuing threats and Obama requests for restraint while the EU can call Israel all sorts of names, but they and China and Russia and anyone else have exactly 48 hours to do what they can do to force an end to attacks on Israel.

And that if those attacks don't stop Israel will launch a WAR, not a raid, but a war leading to the destruction of all Hamas forces. Any loss of life is the responsibility of the World who were impotent to prevent continuous attacks on innocent Israelis.

And if Israel has to launch that war, then it should be like 1967, no half measures and result in reversing the catastrophic Gaza withdrawal.

As radical as this sounds, the only thing worse and will result in Israel's position and security continuing to deteriorate over time is to allow the status quo to continue with half measure responses.

84 Kailen  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 12:22:24pm

Of course it's Israel's fault. They (Israel) aren't dead yet, thus provoking Hamas to continue attacking. If Israel would just have the good sense to surrender all their land and kill their entire population, Hamas could stop firing the rockets. Simple, really.

85 gwillie  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 12:29:39pm

Every time I ask a lefty about the missiles from Gaza they say the same thing, mostly in the form of "Well they as just kids with rocks, what else can they do?" The part where I ask "What about the fact that what Hamas is doing is a war crime", they never answer.

86 Spare O'Lake  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 12:32:56pm
The increasing stupidity of Israel

Correct - they should be killing Hamas instead of supporting it with food, supplies and ceasefires

is forcing us to intensify the rocket fire,

Correct - it's been working well so far

and put thousands more Zionists in the line of fire

Correct - share the terror!

in order to protect the Palestinian people

Correct - Hamas is the duly elected representative of the Palestinian people, and peace with Israel would be a disaster for Hamas

87 davinvalkri  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 12:57:04pm

"WHY DID YOU MAKE ME HIT YOU?!"

Is Hamas that pathetic? To justify its rockets by blaming Israel, again!

Thank you Charles, for being such a friend of Israel.

I wish more Lizardoids would participate in threads like this. Usually, news Charles posts supporting Israel or condemning its satanic enemies doesn't seem to always sprout lengthy feedback and comments.

Charles, you're a Hassid Umot Olam, but you already know that.

Well put! Very well put.. There WILL come a day of reckoning and when that day arrives, the MSM and ALL the useful idiots like them, will have a LOT of 'splaining to do.

The blood of innocent civilians on BOTH sides drips from their spineless, politically correct, leftist/marxist pens.

re: #83 Opinionated

That ALWAYS sounds like a good idea on paper and lord knows I've espoused it myself at LEAST a 1/2 million times but the reality of the situation means that no matter what Israel does, it will be condemn world-wide.

Full blown military engagement would be yet another talking point that the arabs and their enablers can use in order to paint Israel as a war mongering, imperialistic.. (Pick a word from the lefty lexicon) nation hell bent on the destruction of those poor poor, innocent palis.

Is there any doubt that Israel could crush Hamas in no time? NO!

Would it be a propaganda defeat of epic proportions? YES!

Israel has allowed itself to be put between a rock and a hard place. Not by it's own choosing I might add, they've been maneuvered there.

The pali 'story' is all that people hear, remember or care about these days and we ALL know it's nothing but one big lie. Unfortunately, it plays very well in the arab street as well as the universities around the world and in the OP-ED pages of rags like the NYT and the Guardian. The MSM has made sure of that, along with all MANNER of leftists/marxists who are hell bent on not ONLY the destruction of Israel but that of most of western civilization to boot.

As I said before, there will be a day of reckoning where the useful idiots like the MSM and politicos like Carter will have a HUGE amount of explaining to do. I just hope it's NOT preceded by the death of Eretz Israel!

We Need Another Maccabee
by Sammy Benoit

Our leaders greatly please their Hellenist kings.

Sunday night was the first night of Chanukah, the holiday with as many meanings as it has spellings. Why do we celebrate? Pick one or pick all:
Instead of remembering what Judah the Maccabee did in Modi'in, they look toward Medina.

1. A successful Jewish revolt against a Syrian empire ruled by the Seleucid dynasty of Greek kings some 2,200 years ago.

2. A revolt against assimilation and the attempt to impose Hellenistic culture on ancient Judea.

3. A celebration of the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

4. Recognition of a miracle in which one day's worth of oil burnt in the menorah for eight days.

It is the last point that relates so much to today's world. Israel is led by politicians who have no faith in the God who gave them the Land. They allow the Temple Mount - which used the be the "home" of God's Shekhinah ("Presence") and hopefully will be again soon - to be mutilated; in fact, they are willing to give it away. They do not protect Joseph's Tomb in Shechem or Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem. They have fallen in love with Western culture and have forgotten how easily Judaism can get assimilated into it.

Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni and Ehud Barak have worked hard to please their Hellenist kings, George Bush and Condoleezza Rice. Instead of remembering what Judah the Maccabee did in Modi'in, they look toward Medina. Even the Shas party, which entered the government to protect Jerusalem as Jewish, sold themselves for political power.

Israel has leaders who sneak into the side entrance to so they can negotiate with people who want to destroy them, forgetting what others have learned before:

"It is incredible what political simpletons Jews are. They shut their eyes to one of the most elementary rules of life, that you must not 'meet halfway' those who do not want to meet you." -- Ze'ev Jabotinsky, "The Iron Wall", November 4, 1923

And once again, just like all of the other times, Israel has been dumped for political expediency by the Jewish
Israel has been dumped for political expediency.
People. The American Jewish Community proved their assimilation by helping to elect a new president with anti-Israel advisers. Our American Jewish Community has fallen in love with their political connections and lost their connection with their Jewish roots.

When push comes to shove, those Jews who believe in God must stand up and fight. Just like they did over two thousand years ago. After all, Maccabee stands for, "Who is like you O Lord".

As we celebrate this Chanukah holiday, we must redouble our efforts to rally for the cause of right. And we must pray to God that he sends us a Maccabee, instead of the leaders we have now both in Israel and in the American Jewish Community.

"Not by might, not by power, but by My spirit alone...." It doesn't mean don't fight; it means don't fight without God in your heart.

A POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS STRUGGLE TO RETURN TO THE JEWISH WAY.

If restraint and proportional response hasn't worked - then there are only two other choices:

- pacifist; waiting for the inevitable
- disproportionate; just win baby - the hell with the MSM

Which would you choose?

102 gwillie  Wed, Dec 24, 2008 5:58:50pm

re: #101 soniq95

Proportional response would be to send unguided missiles into Gaza (1 for 1). Now just how do you think the MSN will report that.
"Israel's War Crimes Continue"
Yea something like that.

It’s disquieting to see the left wing media as the mouthpiece of our country.

“Israel is forcing us to fire these rockets.”

That quote now seems to be gone from wherever it was. Is there a new link?

105 duketheinfidel  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 9:24:35am

Saying "Israel made us do it" is no excuse for murdering innocent civilians.
