Video: Ahmadinejad's Christmas Hate

Video | Thu, Dec 25, 2008 at 11:07:38 am PST

This is from Iran’s PressTV English-language channel, a preview of Mahmoud Ahmadinehad’s “alternative” Christmas message for Britain’s Channel 4 (who really ought to be shamed out of business for even considering a travesty like this).

The segment on the mini-Hitler’s speech is followed by some incredibly lame attempts at Christmas-related propaganda, which you can just shut off.

Government rebukes Channel 4 for Ahmadinejad broadcast

From that link:
'The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said that handing a platform to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has called the Holocaust “a myth”, would cause widespread offence, despite the President striking a conciliatory tone.

A spokeswoman for the FCO said: “President Ahmadinejad has, during his time in office, made a series of appalling anti-Semitic statements. The British media are rightly free to make their own editorial choices, but this invitation will cause offence and bemusement not just at home but amongst friendly countries abroad.”

9 lifeofthemind  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:12:48am

Since he persists in being arrogant enough to act as God's spokesman, or as a Prophet's prophet, perhaps the Boss needs to call him in for consultations?

Channel 4 is starting to catch some flak for this.

Outrage over Channel 4 broadcast of Iranian president's 'dangerous' alternative Christmas message

Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor said: 'In Iran, converts to Christianity face the death penalty. It is perverse that this despot is allowed to speculate on the views of Jesus, while his government leads Christ's followers to the gallows.'

and

Human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell joined the attack, and called on the broadcaster to 'pull the plug on this criminal despot, who ranks with Robert Mugabe, Omar al-Bashir of Sudan and the Burmese military junta as one of the world's most bloody tyrants'.

Some people do understand him.

19 solomonpanting  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:13am
"January First marks the beginning of the new Christian year, 2009."

As opposed to what, the same islamic year, 666?

I wonder what reference date she uses?

20 yma o hyd  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:23am

Amidst the usual waffle, the BeeB has the following quotes:
"Labour MP Louise Ellman, chairwoman of the Labour Jewish Movement, said: "I condemn Channel 4's decision to give an unchallenged platform to a dangerous fanatic who denies the holocaust while preparing for another, and claims homosexuality does not exist while his regime hangs gay young men from cranes in the street.
"Who will deliver next year's alternative Christmas message? Will it be David Irving or Robert Mugabe?"

And:
"Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor said: "In Iran, converts to Christianity face the death penalty. It is perverse that this despot is allowed to speculate on the views of Jesus, while his government leads Christ's followers to the gallows."
He said Channel 4's decision to broadcast the message was a "scandal and a national embarrassment" and in "its search for ratings and shock factor, Channel 4 has lost its ethical way".

21 notutopia  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:28am

Channel 4 deserves Ahmadinejad. Let him move to the UK. All of this propaganda is just an attempt to disrupt
Christmas.
IT DIDN'T WORK Channel 4 ! Intellectuals in Britain, enjoy your programming...

22 Killgore Trout  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:36am

I realize that Chanel 4 does this every year for sensationalism and shock value but this does go too far. There's little doubt in my mind that they would allow Stalin or Hitler the same platform.

23 David IV of Georgia  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:43am

Christ lived in an occupied territory, ruled by a bullying, war loving empire. Jesus lived in one of the most militant, expansionist, colonizing, tyrannical societies the world has ever known. The closest he came to politics or commenting about this despotic power was, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's."

He forgave the woman caught in adultery and about to be stoned, sending her on her way. When did Mohammad do that?

He said to love your enemies and to do good to those who mistreat you. When did Mohammad do that?

Peter took up a sword to defend Jesus. Jesus rebuked Peter and told him to throw down his sword. When did Mohammad tell anyone that?

24 3 wood  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:16:50am

Meanwhile, the US media continues to get all hot and bothered by Obama working out - and gets breathless over his shirtless romps for the cameras. They're more interested in his workout regime than whether Obama and his cronies were busy cutting deals with Blagojevich.

Yeah, how about that Blagojevich eh? They're going to take the campaign at its word that they didn't do anything wrong? No wonder the NYT and everyone else in the industry is looking at lower revenues, closures, consolidations, and bankruptcy. They're already morally bankrupt, but the bottom line isn't quite there yet. It will be soon.

From the comment by Ruth Gledhill in The Times (London):

"Although a cursory reading of the message might at first indicate so, a devout Muslim can surely not be embracing the millenarian philosophy that some read into the last book of the Bible, Revelation, and that prophesies the return of Christ and his Church to rule for a thousand years at the end of the world.

It sounds more like an invitation to embrace "umma", the Islamic worldwide family, with an offer of a place for all the Abrahamic faiths, incuding the Children of Israel, although they are not named.

All well and good, peaceful and loving. Very Christmassy in fact.

Islam demands its enemies be given the option to convert before they are attacked.

Can this be why I am suddenly so terrified?"

Something is seriously rotten in the UK for such a major TV channel to broadcast this travesty.

On the other hand, the US also has a serious moral problem in that it gave this Hitler wannabe a visa into the country 3 times to address the UN - one of the world's premier organizations of bigotry and hate. Columbia University and Obama "bag lady" Penny Pritzker stooped to the basest moral denominator by giving this genocidal monster the opportunity to address otherwise respectible venues.

I think Islam can be reasoned with in the same manner that Hitler was reasoned with: On the beaches, in the air, at sea, in the towns and villages, in the farms and forests...

Hitler was not reasoned with... he was resisted, fought and thwarted by righteous and heroic men who would not allow a despotic ruler to achieve his vision. Chief among the heroes was Sir Winston Churchill.
Here are somethings that Sir Winston had to say that should ring loudly in London today:
"... the Mahommedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance. It was originally propagated by the sword, and ever since, its votaries have been subject, above the people of all other creeds, to this form of madness."
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

I blame the US, well the immigration authority, for giving him a visa to enter the US 3 times in order for him to enter the US. (In order to get to the UN, you have to enter the US.) You can be sure that the highest echelons of our government and security organizations were well aware of this.

In the past, other US enemies were granted a visa to enter the US to get to the UN and sleep at some NYC hotel: Kruschev, Castro, Arafat, (T)hugo Chavez. But none have been so amoral and vicious as Ahmadinejad. (Although I would put the pistol-packing Arafat in the same category, but he wasn't developing nukes.) A-jad is also a direct threat to the US, as well as to Israel. His terrorists are behind many of the attacks against US forces in Iraq, and he has been funneling weapons to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

But the question remains, as always with moonbats: Are they stupid ... or evil? Stupid ... or evil? Because how can those educated twits at Channel 4 NOT know Dinnerjacket's intent, how can they NOT know what this is really about? They MUST know! And is it a game to them, is it fun to them to play this game because ... why? Because its effects have not yet become real? Because only some of their tube trains were blown up, and a bus, but London or Leeds haven't yet been poison-gassed? What will it take? To give this monster airtime on Christmas Day of all days raises the evil-or-stupid question to the max. Channel 4 needs indeed to be taken down a peg or two - at the moment they feel like a naughty little boy, leaving a mess on the carpet just before the guests arrive.

Looks like their top manager won't be getting his 'Sir' any time soon, after that - if at all.

72 lifeofthemind  Thu, Dec 25, 2008 11:46:50am

Look at Ahmedinjihad and his Islamist creed in contrast to the surviving Christians we talked about on the last thread. Islam is a foreign faith, imposed by force and insecure in its pretensions. Iran had a native and sophisticated religion, it also had a long history of interaction, violent to be sure, with the christian west. In 621 the Sassanid Empire had conquered Mesopotamia, Syria and Egypt. In the next 6 years the Byzantines literally scrapped the bottom of the barrel to get the resources to counterattack and they won. In 629 the Persians surrendered. For what came next I quote the wiki

Neither empire was given any chance to recover, as within a few years they were struck by the onslaught of the Arabs (newly united by Islam), which, according to Howard-Johnston, "can only be likened to a human tsunami".[96] According to George Liska, the "unnecessarily prolonged Byzantine–Persian conflict opened the way for Islam".[97] The Sassanid Empire rapidly succumbed to these attacks and was completely destroyed. During the Byzantine–Arab Wars, the exhausted Roman Empire's recently regained eastern and southern provinces of Syria, Armenia, Egypt and North Africa were also lost, reducing the empire to a territorial rump consisting of Anatolia and a scatter of islands and footholds in the Balkans and Italy.

As always the tragedy of history is what might have been.

Channel 4 is not a major UK TV Channel - its a comemrcial playground for Guardian readers and such, and gets at most 4 million viewers, tops - thats for something really gripping, like cricket ...

I knew that Channel 4 is a commercial station. I didn't know that it is not considered a "major" station. That still doesn't make it right - even for ratings. Looks like may have screwed themselves. The flak they're getting for this nasty stunt is pretty substantial.

The UN has become a thorn in the US foot for the last(forever). This institution should relocate to Europe. My only aside is that by the UN being in the US is that hopefully the diplomats live in the US and they should know what a free world is like to live in.

Its possible that Gord himself might wade in.
Its fairly probable that some top Tories will have some pretty harsh words in their columns in the Sunday papers.
Its also quite probable that the Director General of channel 4 will be on the carpet in front of a couple of Ministers (Home, Culture, definitely Foreogn Office).
Behind the scenes, the top grandees of the various TV empires are probably already sharpening heir knives gleefully - they don't like him at all.

On this day celebrating the birth of Jesus, I would like to say that all acts of violence be halted. The world truly is a beautiful place and there is no room for hatred. All people of any religion, or no religion at all, should be free do practice their beliefs and allow others the same courtesy.
Also, I call for a halt to activities in all nations and territories where people are either held hostage to a government's oppressive policies or else subjected to indisciminate violence by roving bands of rouge terrorists, pirates or other opportunists.
A world void of destructive wars and prejudicies would be a harmonious world allowing for a more systematic process of economic and social progress benefitting all of mankind.

A really good call to have the alternative Christmas message from the President of Iran. It is only the whining Israelis who are so up in arms, and they should look to themselves for the baby killers that they are.

And this one....

Ahmadinejad should be nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
BTW -- he actually never said that he will destroy Israel.
His (and Khomeini's) exact words were "translated" by eager Israel and its lobby in the US.
These malicious "translations" became "the Truth" by endlessly repeating them.

And is it a game to them, is it fun to them to play this game because ... why? Because its effects have not yet become real? Because only some of their tube trains were blown up, and a bus, but London or Leeds haven't yet been poison-gassed? What will it take? Here is Sky News' coverage of what Channel 4 did. It is not sarky, but actually good, IMHO.

There is a series of photos on the site, and this is what really struck me:

A viewer watches a transmission of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivering, on Britain's Channel 4, an alternative ”Christmas message” to British audiences, on December 25, 2008. The speech, in Farsi with English subtitles, is the channels 16th alternative message following previous speeches from others including French actress Brigitte Bardot, British TV chef Jamie Oliver and Major Andrew Stockton, a British soldier who lost an arm fighting in Afghanistan.

/Some comparison, eh?

There is also a complete translation of Ahmadinejad's spewings.

At a risk of sounding bad, why the hell is the West paying any attention to anything the Iranians have to say? I have Iranian students in my classes and most of them are the most modern thinking people I know. Why? Because they have grown up in that sort of "civilization" (if you can call it that). As long as there are extermist countries like this we have "this too can happen to you " examples. We also have examples of what sorts of "legacies" jackasses in office like the dunderhead Jimmy"peanutfarmer" Carter can leave behind.
In a really open discussion over a few beers with two of my Iranian students (mid 20s multilingual, very open minded to say the least) it wasbrought to my attention that "only true government people believe that shit and even they still drink beer and watch porn at home". and that nobody their generation takes things so seriously. As strange as it is one of the Armenian girls in my class is dating an Iranian guy. I love the discussions I've had with the Iranians about the rumors that Khatemei secretly enjoys watching western tv etc etc.
This should be intresting (and scary) to see how the O-face deals with dinnerjacket. I am waiting to see Putin play with Obama like a cat playing with a mouse.

Merry Christmas Writermom. Believe it or not our school is closed for Christmas. Turkey still has kept a bit of its multiculturalness. I really have high hopes for this new generation.
About headscarves.. those mean nothing here. I know some women who wear them but are absolute wenches like my neighbor who also drink alcohol and probably engages in the naughty sin of premarital sex. Still she wears a headscarf so I guess allah can't see who it is who is doing it.
Here one of the political/religious parties pays women to wear the scarf and the penguin suit. I have yet to figure out if they get paid more for the scarf or for the penguinsuit. hehehe. re: #223 NelsFree

You know, considering today is Christmas, there have been several biting posts here. I, too, am guilty of prompt judgement. Perhaps we should remind ourselves of the Reason for the Season. Peace on Earth, goodwill toward Men (and Women). Well, the guests are arriving for dinner, gotta go. Merry Christmas and, to paraphrase Joe Biden, "God Love Ya, LGF!"

Crankiness due to not getting a shiny, shiny unicorn or some such.

re#yma o hyd
Ch4 don't show cricket any more that's the province of "sky" now.(excellent coverage).the only sad thing is that impecunious old cricket fans either have to go to the pub or listen on radio4(long wave)
Anyway, channel 4 are loosing a lot of ad revenue because by and large their
programs are piss poor;and they are attempting to win back viewers with controversial programs(I thought undercover mosque was terrific).
But giving air time to a mendacious POS like "dinnerjacket" was I suppose what they would call balanced.
However looking on the bright side there's a strong rumour that the most controversial humourist in the UK is putting the finishing touches to a spoof documentary on Islam(he considers it a subject ripe for exploitatation); and if this is screened(on ch4) ,and is in the same vein as his infamous documentary on paedophilia(spoof);then I predict much discussion here on LGF when the shit hits the fan.
Christmas greetings and good will to all LGF fans.
Cheers.

C4 is such a strange beast. I puts out cr^p like this yet also puts out Undercover Mosque and Jail to Jihad.

A previous commenter mentioned that this can be interpreted as the Muslim custom of invitation of conversion before attack. I just hope it is and the mussies lift the heads out of their mire. Despite what the loony lefty media would have you believe, to use the immortal words of Maggie, We Brits ain't for turning.

why is everyone so angry? let him talk, int he clip shown he has already condemned himself and his government for their support of terrorist organisations, there is nothing to fear from his moronic words, i congratulate C4.

I've not read this whole thread, so if this has been mentioned before, sorry 'bout the repeat: The statement "If Jesus were alive, today" comes from a seriously theologically challenged viewpoint. The fact of Yeshua's resurrection is the crux of Christianity.
Without a risen, eternally alive Savior - Christianity is just another in a long series of belief systems.
So here ya go Dinnerjacket: Jesus is, was and will always be alive. Ya stumpy tool, ya!

c) I forget.

Unveil the beauty that "Allah" created, and control yourselves, you swinish batards. Allah gave you self-control, yes? Or are you no better than animals?

But the question remains, as always with moonbats: Are they stupid ... or evil?

From my conversations with moonbats on leftist websites, well the ones that don't descend to the level of hysterical personal attacks, I have always detected a sheer bloody stubbornness of not wanting to accept the truth. Their mindset is so rigid that they can't accept alternative viewpoints.

This makes them stupid. I don't know about evil but certainly dangerous.

Like watching Hitler.

I wonder what Channel 4 will say after he unleashes a nuclear holocaust, (or if they will say anything at all).

The problem for me is the dishonesty. Ch4, i.e. the media, should never be a tool for a corrupt government.

There are Christians and Jews still living in Iran, although many left after Ahmadinejad came to power. The Wiki, if it's accurate indicates the Christian population has gone down to about .4% from 1.5% in 1975. Persian Jews, something I know a bit more about, are one of the oldest Jewish populations in the Diaspora dating back to the first Temple days (800 BCE). In 1948, there were 100,000 Jews in Iran. Today it's about 25-30K (reports vary).

At any rate, Jews and Christians are not granted the same rights as Muslims in Iran and though allowed to practice their religions, are often persecuted for them. THIS is what Ch 4 should have been reporting. You look at this tape and you come away with a sympathic Ahmadinejad which is certainly not true. The fact is these two communities are quite alienated from their brethren in the rest of the world.

If you watch the whole tape, the Christian men being interviewed look entirely uncomforatble. Terrified even, to the point of what they're saying is rehearsed. And I wouldn't doubt it.

I would think that the first occupation he would decry was that closest to his heart. The occupation of Israel by anyone other than the Jewish people.

re: #232 moomintroll

Aside from giving a legitimising platform to an evil monster?

I'm angry because C4 are only doing this to be controversial and look radical.

It's left wing egotism, built upon the blood of young women stoned to death, gay people hung by their next, women who are beaten up and humiliated by morality police, the genocide of marsh Arabs and rampant antisemitism.

If Combat 18 & Aryan Nations weren't so white, they'd give them a platform too - just for the controversy.

It's insult. The basic fact is, they'd rather look cool to lefties than avoid offending gays and Jews (and anyone else who believes in womens rights and basic democracy).

WHAT I WANT FOR XMAS NEXT YEAR!

It's only an editorial decision and a bit of coding away.

245 So What  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 3:45:50am

Just a simple thought folks: If the dinner-jacket has to apply for a visa to enter our country, we are always asking other countries to join us in seeking sanctions against this elf correct? Why not just deny the application and show the world that we will not give him the platform he seeks to spread his b.s. and tell the UN that they are in our country and the door is open for them to pack up and leave anytime they want.Obama said that he could look any dictator in the eye. Will he have on knee pads when he looks him in the eye, or will the elf be looking at the back of the Messiahs head?
Does Soros have enough money to support the UN if they do leave? Maybe they could have telethons over in Britain on channel 4.

Do Britons Boycott ?

Yes, We do. Well, I do , at least.
I shall make it a point not to purchase any goods or services from any advertisers featured on C4 unless and until there is a full and unreserved apology for this crass act of dhimmitude. I already boycott Sainsbury's
(A major supermarket chain which advertises on C4) because of two words ... Jamie Oliver. (All British Lizards know who this is ...)

247 Paul  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 6:49:50am

I'm glad I waited until the day after Christmas to view this wretched crap.
It's like Christmas 1938 and Hitler is on the BBC advising the British public that Jesus was the first National Socialist.

The whole thing is snide, stupid and self-loathing.

248 Cheese Eater  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 6:56:06am

If Jesus were alive today?

He'd still be the ZIONIST JEW he always was...

I'd love to remind the world that Jesus was a JEW, living in OCCUPIED ISRAEL

Ten's of thousands of JEWS were murdered on crucifixes by the OCCUPYING Romans JUST like Jesus for BEING JEWS in their historic HOMELAND

Maybe during this time of year the world needs to remember Jesus was born, raised and died a Jew...

In the Christian mind he ONLY became CHRIST AFTER the resurrection.

And even then, he would have supported Israel to BE over a palestinian death cult anyday

Happy Boxing Day to all the British Lizards, but could you give the rest of us a hint on why Jamie Oliver drives you to boycott? (I suspect that a lot of Americans will recognize Oliver's name, but only as a "celebrity chef.")

251 Pass The Moonbaticide  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 10:07:43am

re: #250 Throbert McGee
Jamie Oliver is one of the most fanatical health Nazi types posing as a celebrity chef that Great Britain has. The UK Government enroled him as an 'advisor' on Schools nutrition, with the result that items like chips
(French Fries to our American cousins) are now off the menu, and 'sugary' soft drinks were all removed from vending machines (even diet varieties)
in favour of flavoured waters. Kids' lunch boxes are even searched for contraband like candy bars on entry to schools. Most parents hate him. There are many cases reported of parents passing 'forbidden' foodstuffs through school railings. He also managed to offend an entire Midlands town
- I think it was Pontefract but it was a few months ago so my memory may be suspect - by suggesting that theirs was the nation's unhealthiest diet.

This self-righteous prat is the reason I will not shop in any supermarket he endorses.

252 brahma77  Fri, Dec 26, 2008 2:16:12pm

Modern Islam would issue a Fatwa on Jesus Christ today, and denounce Him as a heretic. Islam would not give a whits worth of consideration as to Christ's opinion of the US, and we should give the same amount of credence to what I'm-a-dinner-jacket says about Christ's opinion of how we, the most charitable nation on earth, go about our Christianity.

253 gone2sanibel  Tue, Dec 30, 2008 4:04:21pm

Pretty interesting that Ahmadinejad basically said if Christ were to visit us today, he would denounce the Iranian leader (at least that is what I inferred, considering his role as a warmonger with Hezbollah and Hamas). I wonder if that will shame him toward working for peace. He could begin by recognizing the right of Israel to exist and diverting his funding for violence toward peace. Merry Christmas, Mahmoud.
