'Snowzilla' Wreaks Havoc in Alaska
A giant snowman named Snowzilla has mysteriously appeared again this year, despite a cease-and-desist order. Someone built the giant snowman in a man's front yard in Anchorage, Alaska.

I was JUST pondering this very thing... Everyone at the Christmas gathering had a cell phone in their pocket and a laptop for every couple. When I am 102, I will be saying to my 32 great grand kids, "I remember when I was little and had a military-issued cellular phone package that we only had for emergencies (and we didn't even have a land line) and to call your great great grandparents on Christmas day, sunny! Kids these days!"

Other plants may be inhabited -- is that for real?

Actually, glue traps are pretty cruel. The mouse is unable to get the glue off his paws, which makes him incapable of surviving. I'd rather just give the li'l bugger a swift, time-honored demise.

Haven't seen much activity, so perhaps the poison baits have done their work. I'm going to reset traps this weekend with a mix of peanut butter and bread crumbs. I've discovered the peanut butter I buy is far too creamy to offer any sort of resistance, and the dude can lick the trap plate clean without tripping it.

He's also known to move the traps out of his way.

I found Decon worked best when field mice invaded my house one Winter. The glue traps were to slow for the sheer numbers that showed up. The Decon desiccated them so there was no odor or rotting carcasses either.

The only qualifier I would add...if you have pets/kids, put the bait where they do not go. In my case, the garage and attic. They were gone, literally overnight.

Wonder if you could adapt the Squirrel Melts recipe and make Mouse Melts.

As a catch and release type-take a jar of alcohol with you-and let it slowly run thru the trap, once you are where you wanna be. Once the mouse/rat gets loose from the cardboard trap-they will book. Just my $.02 worth...

Another good mouse trap is to take a coffee can cut out the bottom spread peanut butter on outter edge and run a bit of clothes line thru it and sit in a tup of water. Mouse will run accross rope for the peanut butter the can spins dumping him in water and resets leaving mouse to drown. Non humane version.

I agree that no sane person WANTS war, and yet we have turned away from constructive, unifying peace for so long (150+ years now) that IF India-Pakistan triggers it, the conflagration could very well spread to other seriously dysfunctional regimes for a final cleanout, allowing world-wide healing...

I think you're probably right. There are many options, with the grotesque consequences of failure justifying the most extreme measures.
Patriotic and sane Pakistanis may be in a position to sabotage any orders for nuclear deployment, we might be feeding the necessary intel for a pre-emptive strike to the Indians, or we might be prepared to use our own forces in such a strike.

i'm guessing you're referring to subtle wording/phrasing changes on individual copies of document "x" so that if the subject is broached, the list of potential leakers can be narrowed by examining the text released...

(unless, of course, the leakers reword the document themselves, prior to release. %-)

The first round of air strikes came just before noon and several more waves followed.

Hamas security compounds are often located in civilian areas. The first air strikes took place as children were leaving school. Plumes of black smoke rose over Gaza City, sirens wailed through the streets and women frantically looked for their children.

One man sat in the middle of a Gaza City street, close to a security compound, alternately slapping his face and covering his head with dust from the bombed-out building. "My son is gone, my son is gone," wailed Sadi Masri, 57. The shopkeeper said he sent his son out to purchase cigarettes minutes before the airstrikes began and now could not find him.
