Shocka: CAIR Speaks Up for Hamas

To no one’s surprise, the Council on American Islamic Relations, one of the main unindicted co-conspirators in the recent Hamas funding trial of the Holy Land Foundation, is working the “massacre” angle and blaming the citizens of the US for supplying Israel with weapons: CAIR Condemns Israeli ‘Massacre’ in Gaza.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today condemned Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that left more than 200 people dead and called the death toll a “massacre carried out using U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons.” More than 700 people, including women and children, were injured in the attacks.

Note: CAIR is reduced to using press releases to issue these statements. The mainstream media seem much less ready to parrot CAIR’s propaganda lately.

Well, they only today issued the press releases. Wait until tomorrow until they get worked into the overall analysis and reaction to Israel's national defense against the Islamic terrorist group Hamas that has been repeatedly calling for Israel's destruction since its creation.

CAIR never fails to find common cause with the Islamists and terrorists. It's in their blood.

Why doesn't America shun this organization. It's akin to receiving a press release from O.J. Simpson. Except O.J. has less blood on his hands.

12 Sharmuta  Sun, Dec 28, 2008 10:34:38am

Wow- that whole release is pretty nauseating.

We therefore call on President-elect Obama to demonstrate his commitment to change our nation's current one-sided Mideast policy by speaking out now in favor of peace and justice for all parties to this decades-long conflict.

If only 0bama would wave his magic wand, this would all be solved.

Another PRNewswire article.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today expressed support for Israel's response in the Gaza Strip to Hamas' continued assault against Israeli civilians. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

"The most recent onslaught of rockets against Israel from Hamas represents a serious escalation in their war against Israel. The latest barrage of attacks by these Iranian-sponsored Islamist militants continue a pattern of indiscriminate targeting of innocent men, women and children in Israel that could not go unanswered. Israel had no choice but to defend itself.

"The response of our democratic ally, Israel, has been carefully calibrated to halt the rocket fire, aimed at surgically eliminating Hamas militants and the teams that are operating the rockets, while at the same time making every effort to limit civilian casualties in the face of Hamas' callous use of innocent Palestinians as human shields.

"We stand with the Jewish State of Israel in its ongoing efforts to protect its citizens from those who seek its destruction."

Memo to CAIR:

But for Hamas not firing all those rockets and mortars at Israel, Israel would not have attacked with such force.

For Hamas, but for Israel's existence, Hamas would not have fired all those kassams and mortars and plotted all those terrorist attacks, infiltrations, and ongoing calls for Israel's destruction.

CAIR, you side with Hamas because you too seek Israel's destruction. By failing to speak out against the ongoing terror campaign perpetrated by Hamas against Israel, including the ongoing and repeated breaches of the hudna with mortar and rocket and missile fire, you expose yourself as nothing but a bunch of terrorist sympathizers in suits. Today on Face the Nation David Axelrod dances around the question when he's asked if The One will be equally supportive of Israel at GWB has been.

REID: Let’s go with the headlines today. We’ve got to. The news is just really difficult in Gaza, right now, nearly 300 killed in Israeli air strikes.

The Bush administration response, so far, has been to blame Hamas and to urge Israel to be very careful about civilian casualties.

Now, I suspect, if I ask you specifically what Barack Obama would do here, you’ll tell me that there’s only one president at a time.

So let me ask you a slightly different question, which is, do you anticipate that the Obama administration will be just as supportive of Israel as the Bush administration has been?

AXELROD: Well, certainly, the president-elect recognizes the special relationship between United States and Israel. It’s an important bond, an important relationship. He’s going to honor it.

And he wants to be a constructive force in helping to bring about the peace and security that both the Israelis and the Palestinians want and deserve.

And obviously, this situation has become even more complicated in the last couple of days and weeks. As Hamas began its shelling, Israel responded. But it’s something that he’s committed to.

REID: But do you think he will be equally as supportive of Israel as the Bush administration?

AXELROD: I think he -- I think, as I said, I think he recognizes that special relationship. He’s going to work closely with the Israelis. They’re a great ally of ours, the most important ally in the region. And -- and that that is a fundamental principle from which he’ll work.

But he will do so in a way that will promote the cause of peace, and work closely with the Israelis and the Palestinians on that -- toward that objective.

The time for "talk and communication" is well past.

It seems that every President (even Bush) puts the onus of reponsibility on the Israelis...they are the ones that have to give up land, money, power, security. Why is this process upside down? The Arab world, Europe, etc, etc never seem to demand HAMAS stop with the blowing up stuff and rocket attacks...it's always Israel that has to give up something. And, the more they give up, the more rockets fly into their lands.

Obama will come into this process full of confidence. But, it is my guess he will soon see there is no solution to this problem as long as one side continues to want the first and only condition to be the destruction of the other side.

Hamas 'bars injured leaving Gaza'

Egypt says the Hamas militant group, which controls Gaza, is preventing hundreds of wounded Palestinians from leaving for treatment in Egypt.

Cairo says dozens of empty ambulances are at the Rafah crossing - the only one to Gaza which avoids Israel.
...
Egypt has helicopters and doctors on standby at the Rafah crossing.

There are also up to 40 ambulances waiting to go into Gaza to bring out the most seriously wounded. Tonnes of medical supplies have arrived at the nearby airport of El-Arish.

But the Egyptian authorities say that, at the moment, they have no-one to treat.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the wounded were "barred from crossing" and he blamed "those in control of Gaza" for putting the lives of the injured at risk.

It's very important for Hamas to keep the Palestinian death toll as high as possible.

To me, CAIR is kinda like Muslim equivalent of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. If anything happens that involves a Muslim, they put a microphone in front of one of their spokesmen or print their news releases. The MSM has given CAIR way more respect and influence than it actually deserves. It's membership has dwindled since 2001, yet, it is propped up like they speak for all Muslims in the USA.

There's almost 3 million people living in El Paso and Juarez. It is a large metropolitan area. And, the Mexican side is basically having a civil war between the Drug Cartels and the officials on their payroll versus what's left of the "honest" Federales. The same thing is happening on all major border towns along the US-Mexican Border. Tijuana, Nogales, Juarez...it is safer in Baghdad than it is any of those cities. It is the Wild, Wild West down there...a perfect place to exploit.

And, now that the economy up here is slowing down, many of the illegals up here are going back and not as many are coming up...so, they will have higher unemployment and less of the all crucial remittances coming from the Mexican nationals up here sending back home to Mexico. And, since the price of oil started falling, the other source of hard currency is drying up. We have a tinder box down on the border. I wonder why nobody up here is noticing it?

Obama bristles as the bubble closes in

The media glare, the constant security appendage and the sheer production that has become a morning jog or a hankering for an ice cream cone – it’s been closing in on Barack Obama for some time.

Now the president-elect appears increasingly conscious of the confines of his new position, bristling at the routine demands of press coverage and beginning to chafe at boundaries that are only going to get smaller.

Obama even took the unusual step Friday morning of leaving behind the pool of reporters assigned to follow him, taking his daughters to a nearby water park without them. It was a breach of longstanding protocol between presidents (or presidents-elect) and the media, that a gaggle of reporters representing television, print and wire services is with his motorcade at all times.

Then when reporters finally caught up with Obama at Koko Marina Paradise Deli and he acknowledged them for one of few times since arriving in Hawaii last Saturday, he sounded resigned.

After ordering a tuna melt on 12-grain bread, Obama approached reporters and placed his hand on the shoulder of pool reporter Philip Rucker of The Washington Post, who was scribbling away in his notebook.

“You don't really need to write all that down,” Obama said.

Ooh, the pressure is already starting to get to him and he hasn't even been sworn in yet!

/maybe we''ll get lucky and he'll just quit, for the good of Michelle's children

The answer is... Both ways... Plots take time to hatch, they require, people and materials, both which have to be smuggled in. What the Texas authorities need to do is squeeze ole Momo until he tells them where he is stockpiling his shit and who he's getting it from down in Mexico.

The Texas authorities are either insanely incompetent for releasing any information regarding his arrest, or have already obtained that information. I'll leave speculating on which they are to lizards better acquainted with the Texas law enforcement community.

If this were here in InSane Diego Ca. my money would be on incompetent and corrupt.

i've just about given up on British media now, so anti-israel is its slant.

its come down to this - about the ONLY friend of israel is America right now.

and as a European, and a British citizen, i find that situation to be an UTTER disgrace - considering that we Europeans tried our damn best to exterminate the Jews. we (as in Europe) have learned nothing from history - instead we cosy up to Islamists and assorted left wing moonbat bigots...

THAT is the difference.

The Israeli's have always been too compassionate.

Constantly looking for a way to live side-by-side.

It's about time they realized that is not what the Pali's want.

True. I was referring to the establishment of the country and its defense of its borders. Israel needs to settle this point once and for all.

your move

People from the West, with the history and heritage of this type of thought, embrace this as a natural law. That God gave people freedoms governments cannot take away. However, in the rest of the world, they use other guides to shape their vision of the world. The Koran does not mention freedoms much and certainly not the natural rights listed in the Dec. of Ind. or our Constitution...that is the book these Hamas asswads are looking at. You know, the one that says women are property, kill the infidels, chop off heads, marry a 9 year old, etc, etc

Put my name on one of those "AMERICAN FUNDED" bombs, and a missile, and anything else my name will fit on! Can I ride along when the stuff is delivered?

{French President Nicolas Sarkozy condemned Israel's "disproportionate use of force."}
If someone attacks you it is OK for you to have a "DISPROPORTIONATE USE OF FORCE." The Palestinians have awakened a sleeping tiger. If they are too dumb to realize that you don't attack something that can eat you at any time, they shouldn't complain.

{EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said the Israeli attacks were "inflicting an unacceptable toll on Palestinian civilians and will only worsen the humanitarian crisis as well as complicate the search for a peaceful solution."}
Ways to keep innocent civilians from being hurt in a battle: (1) Don't start one. (2) Stay away from civilians like the Americans do. We fight in the open, not hiding behind others. (3) Wear a uniform, like the Americans do. We make it plain who we are. We don't wear civilian clothes so we can hide among the women. (4) After you start a battle, and you find out you shouldn't have, give up!

{as well as complicate the search for a peaceful solution}
Exactly where is this search team that is looking for a PEACEFUL SOLUTION? Should we send a search team to search for the search team? The PEACEFUL SOLUTION is simple: (1) Admit Israel has a right to survive, just like Palestine does. (2) Quit launching rockets at Israel. (3) Throw a Thanksgiving party!

Stray cat saves man who fell into toilet

A stray cat has saved the life of a man who fell into an open toilet and was stuck there for two days, a newspaper reported Sunday.

The Merit Times said Liu Young-hui, 68, a scavenger living on government welfare in a village in Tainan County, south Taiwan, is recovering following the incident early this week.

Liu, who lives alone, slipped and fell into a hole in the ground that he used as a toilet and was stuck there for two days.

He was saved after one of a dozen stray cats he fed regularly with leftovers showed up at the door of a neighbour and kept meowing until he followed him to the back of Liu's house.

The military wing affiliated to Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades released a statement on Thursday morning briefing the group's military activities over the first twenty four hours of an operation they called “Oil Stain” which started Wednesday morning.

According to the statement, a total of 87 shells have been fired at Israeli targets bordering the Gaza Strip including 54 mortar shells, 31 homemade projectiles which Hamas calls “Qassam”, and two Soviet-made Grad missiles.

Al-Qassam Brigades threatened to enlarge the “Oil Stain” to get more thousands of Israelis “under fire”. The group asserted that its fighters are “far greater than surrendering to Israeli threats and that they became much more prepared to counter Israeli aggression and to defend themselves than in the past.”

As for Cair's Amina Rubin, she is probably a convert to Islam. There's a website containing the testimonies of Jews who have
converted to Islam.

Late again to the discussion ... and I've not read the previous comments but I JUST have to say this ...
Let us all keep an eye on the incoming administration and their selections for Dept of Justice. First off, ObamUH's selection for AG is VERY suspecious to say the least. AND I bet the farm that any and all actions of the part of DOJ with respect to CAIR will slowly wind down and evaporate before anyone in the MSM will take notice. Once it is done it will be done. You know, yesterdays news, water over the damn. Move along, nothing to see here. Keep an eye on that fellow Ellison from Michigan. I suspect he'll direct or demand any throttling down of any DOJ work regarding CAIR and their fellow travelers. Especially if DOJ 'find ANY thing' and pass it on to the Obamanators who will infest the DOJ like good little Chitown Mobbers that they are.

With UAW barking at the gates ... and the 100 day 'Honeymoon' with Congress and the 1000 day Honeymoon with the MSM there is a lot of room for mischief.

log/dog -

I just MIGHT consider it, with regard to Ba'Haullah - Prophet of the Ba'Hai religion. Ba'Haullah spoke of brotherhood of all humans - Muhammed - like WAY Not So Much. Muslims executed Ba'Haullah as a heretic. Take it from there as his demise was NOT 2000+ years ago, it was at a date within US History - like the 1840's, 'bout the time MORMONS/LDS became a faith.

re: #333 Clubsec

"Club" -

The choice of Pres. Elect Obama for "AG" is the ULTIMATE Flexible Lawyer - I think we all understand that. My advice is to confirm him - AND - let him DIG his own RUTS. When too much "Road Repair" is needed, He will go under the "OBAMABUS" very quickly.

As for the UAW - As a former UAW Committeeman - Seems to me that we were NOT given the entire story on Black Lake, MI. It was sold to us as being more or less a a Union Financed "University Campus" - NOT A GOLF COURSE.

I suspect Walter Reuther and Doug Brown would be spinning at 6000 or more RPM in their graves if they knew today's reality.

Dr. S
I was just priming the issue about the upcoming behavior of DOJ as it will most certainly act far differently than the Bush DOJ ... which as we know is still heavily manned by Klintonites. Oh and any guesses as to how many Fed AG's will get the ax? Will it be more than the Klintonites demanded? Will the MSM give a sh*t? Place your bets.
Correction ... this Ellison fellow is from MN not MI.
Guess that image of flying over that huge Mosque in Dearborn on final into Detroit threw me off. Wow what a structure. I understand the one proposed for London will dwarf it.

Oh, and Desert Dog is correct in his accessment of the violence in Ole' Mexico. In Tucson we get a few stories of some significant shoot-outs in Nogales. I think a Federale General was greased a week or so back. Now, a few years ago that was unheard of if not unthinkable. Today ... it is a distinct possibility and the Mexicans are showing the early signs of a spiral into anarchy. Good friends will no longer hunt down below Arivaca due to the dangers in the mountains from (as Gen. R.E. Lee would say) 'Those people'. A fellow down Lakeside way found an AK on his property ... with a full stick still in it. Scary that.

re: #14 Cattt

Actually, CAIR DC is no longer a corporation so whether they're "around" requires interpretation. Wonder how much a judge will fine them for each non-dissolution press release.
