Here’s an open thread to post nominations for LGF’s Idiotarian of the Year Award! This year, in the spirit of the stock market downturn and the economic belt-tightening, we’re cutting out the “Anti-Idiotarian” award and focusing on the red meat — the award for the person or group that most personifies the spirit of the “useful idiot.”

The Fiskie Award is a lifetime award, and previous winners are not eligible; so here are the past winners for reference:

*Representative Nancy Pelosi, for her trips to Syria and her mismanagement of the House.
*President-elect Barack Obama, his comments on Israel and Islam earlier this year, as well as his associations with Bill Ayres.
*Representative Barney Frank, for his role in the Freddie and Fannie collaspe.
*Senator Chris Dodd, ditto.
*Governor Rod Blagojevich, for his usefulness in getting Obama into the spotlight, and then being dropped like a dead fish when arrested. Useful and then useless in the same year.
