Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, the Green Party’s candidate for president this year, just keeps getting crazier and crazier. Now she’s getting on a boat in Cyprus with a bunch of international moonbat activists (aka Hamas supporters), planning to run Israel’s blockade on Gaza.

Free Gaza Group spokeswoman Caoimhe Butterly said their 20-meter yacht Dignity would leave Larnaca port around 5 p.m. (1400GMT) Monday with 3.5 tons of donated supplies.

She said the yacht would carry 16 passengers, including former US Congresswoman Cynthia Mckinney, Cypriot lawmaker and doctor Eleni Theocharous and activists from Britain, Australia, Ireland and Tunisia.

Maybe that's a tad harsh -- but I certainly hope she has her eyes opened by what she sees.

Anyone know what Cynthia Mckinney does for money? Is she independently waelthy and can afford to be batshit crazy, does she get a pension from Congress and we pay for this, or do fellow moonbats subsidize her?

24 Kosh's Shadow  Mon, Dec 29, 2008 9:10:34am

Well, entering a war zone is taking ones life in one's hands.
But then, Israel could be more generous than let them get sunk on the way in; they could confiscate the boat, and intern all on board, as giving aid and comfort to an enemy.

But the Iranian ship headed there should just be boarded if they don't turn away. My guess is the "humanitarian aid" includes rockets and other weapons; Iran is an enemy state, not a neutral.
I prefer capturing the ship and showing the weapons to just sinking it.
Of course, only Fox will show the captured weapons; the rest of the world will think the boxes marked "Grad rockets" really contain flour and baby milk.

The great embarrassment (sp?) is the fact that she is an ex-congressperson from the US.  It is refreshing that Texans kicked her ass out of office as soon as her moonbattery became public knowledge. Ignorance is curable, but stupidiy is more or less (more in this case) a permanent condition.BTW what gives with the Coleman/Franken voterarama?  Who was it, Lenin or Stalin who said something along the lines of:  It matters not how people vote it is those who count the vote that matter. Then there is that scheistkoff Robert Mugabe ... One man, one vote, one time.  How he avoids cranial lead poisoning is amazing.

Looks like the IAF is skillfully applying the GBU-72's 'One Bomb, One Target' on Hamas weapon caches and other 'civilian' targets. Although it looked like those tunnel hits were lazed with a small offset. Wonder why?

207 SpiritOf1683  Mon, Dec 29, 2008 9:34:21am

It is so predictable that when anyone dares to give an enemy of civilization a good tonking, Western moonbats will crawl out of the woodwork and offer themselves as human shields. These think they're being humanitarians but they're accessories to evil - and that makes them evil. Ours must be the only civilization that has ever existed in over 5,500 years of human civilization that will openly aid and abet those barbarians whose wish is to destroy, kill and enslave us. Of course, these whackjobs have that silly belief that at heart everybody is good and have that innate inability to see the difference between good and evil. Hugh Fitzgerald summed up these so-called 'peace activists' as follows:

We all know, by now, what the phrase "peace activist" means. It does not mean someone who furthers the cause of genuine peace. It means someone who wishes to obtain a false "peace" by appeasement of the most aggressive and hostile forces opposed to everything that is worth preserving in the Western world. That is what a "peace activist" is today.

And Israel is well worth preserving, because that country is the gateway to the West. The Jihadists have been hammering on that door for the last 60 years and have been driven back time and time again - only for a gullible West to prevent the Israelis from finishing the job their enemies started. The Jihadis believe that if they overrun Israel they've got a base to take their Jihad to the heart of infidel Europe and ultimately the US. Not to mention Israel's nukes to carry out atrocities that would pale 9/11 into almost insignificance. Instead of a couple of towers, it would be the whole of London or Manhattan that goes up in a mushroom cloud.

208 nyc redneck  Mon, Dec 29, 2008 9:34:22am

imbeciles that do stuff like this, deserve what they get.

Because Israel is primarily Western in culture, and entirely Judeo-Christian. To the Left, anything Western is evil and imperialistic when compared to a "weaker" and more "primitive" adversary. Islam is "exotic", "mysterious", "oppressed", and symbolizes a strong anti-Western force to the elite Leftist mind. And Muslims are stereotypically "dark-skinned", automatically elevating them to protected class status.

Apparently, the boat "Dignity" belongs to an organization called "Free Gaza" according to this news piece. (scroll down)

The Boat "Dignity" Reaches Gaza ; Others Expected

Hamas continues its efforts to set up a maritime supply line to the Gaza Strip . On December 9 the "Dignity," a boat belonging to an organization called "Free Gaza," reached the Gaza Strip again carrying, according to the organization, medicines and baby food. It also carried a delegation of academics and pro-Palestinian activists (Free Gaza website, December 9). On December 11 the ship left the Gaza Strip on its way back to Cyprus , carrying, according to the media, 11 Palestinian students on their way to foreign universities. The pro-Palestinian activist remained in the Gaza Strip (Al-Aqsa TV, Al-Quds TV, December 11).

Somewhat OT: I heard a rebroadcast of an interview with Pali-lover Cherie Blair earlier this morning. Among other gems from this sooper-genius: 1) the suicide of David Kelly was "a very great tragedy, especially for him"; 2) during one of Tony Blair's visits to DC, he was awarded the "Congressional Medal of Honor".

Only caught the last question: Reporter asked if the Palestinians realized their government started this. The UN lady (didn't catch the name) basically refused to admit that the Palestinians started this. First she said that they had observed the truce for the 6 months, then she corrected herself and said four or the six months, then she explained why they were really only retaliating because Israel hadn't held up their end of the deal by opening the crossings.

Then, of course, she started using the word "proportionality."

I can say one word or a million on that idea. So, one word: Pfffttt.

Some donate $25,000...

Greta Berlin (*) : The Free Gaza Movement was organized two years ago by five people on two continents. Paul, Mary and I were working from California, and Eliza and Bella were working in parallel in the UK. We found each other and thought sailing a boat to Gaza would be a great idea. The original idea came from Michael Shaik in Australia who thought we should sail a boat from the US to Gaza.

"Why not sail a boat to Gaza?" Why not, exactly? And that was the beginning of this long two-year process that ended up with 44 people taking two small boats to break Israel’s draconian blockade of Gaza. I have been responsible for much of the media work, especially in the last two trips.

Israel has choices here:
1) arrest McKinney on TV and send out photos of Israelis burning the ship
2) every ship is a submarine, once
3) disable the engines and leave it adrift
4) search it and forcibly remove the crew then return it to Cypriot waters
5) give in and let the ship through in safety.

I'd opt for the middle course.

I prefer they confiscate it and all the supplies, dump the people at the Egyptian border, and sell the boat and supplies, with the proceeds going to Sderot.
Unless weapons or other military material is found, in which case they arrest everyone on board, still sell the boat, and give Hamas all the explosives on board, suitably fused to detonate upon delivery.

Israel At 'War to the Bitter End,' Strikes Key Hamas Sites

Israel's defense minister said Monday the country is engaged in a "war to the bitter end" against Hamas in the Gaza Strip and said the military operation against the terror group would continue and intensify.

Israel is trying to avoid civilian casualties, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told reporters Monday, while "Hamas is looking for children to kill."

"Hamas is targeting deliberately kindergartens and schools and citizens and civilians because this is according to their values. Our values are completely different. We are trying to target Hamas, which hides among civilians," Livni said.

Hamas, whose charter specifically calls for the destruction of the state of Israel, is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdon and the European Union and is banned in Jordan.

Cynhia McKinney supports Hamas.

Great moments of media insight.

Obama will inherit Gaza problem.

No kidding. It's been a problem inherited since 1947. Palestinians refuse to accept Israel's existence and consider nothing short of Israel's destruction a satisfactory resolution to the conflict. Israel stubbornly refuses to keel over despite domestic pressure to do just that and appease and concede security and protection of its own against the terrorists.

If Israel manages to defang and defuse Hamas, Gaza will not be a problem. If Hamas admits defeat, Gaza will not be a problem.

If Hamas continues along this path of destruction, Obama will have to decide what to do going forward. If he pressures Israel into stopping its current round of Hamas-culling, Obama will extend the conflict further until such time that Hamas decides that it has enough weapons on hand to launch another round of attacks.

From ADL,

The Free Gaza Movement, which is affiliated with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) ...
[snip]
Paul Larudee, a Free Gaza Movement cofounder, has described the effort as "an international, nonviolent resistance project to challenge Israel's blockade of Gaza and its denial of Palestinian human rights." Larudee, who is active with the ISM in Northern California, is one of several ISM-affiliated individuals planning to sail to Gaza. Three members of the European Parliament and anti-Zionist professor Norman Finkelstein are also rumored to be participating.

While organizers have indicated that they will bring medical and other supplies to Gazans, they have also stated that the transport of aid supplies "isn't a primary part of our mission." Bill Dienst, a Washington State physician who will be overseeing the trip's medical team, views the trip as a way to draw "international attention" to the "massive violation of human rights" in Gaza.

About that "Israeli blockade of Gaza"...

Hundreds of Gazans flocked into Sinai after breaching the border on Sunday, prompting Egyptian policemen to shoot into the air in a desperate attempt to stop them. An Egyptian border guard was killed as security forces and Palestinian gunmen exchanged fire.

The Egyptians, meanwhile, accused Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood of inciting against the regime of President Hosni Mubarak.

Under pressure from the Arab street, Mubarak on Sunday decided to reopen the Rafah border crossing to allow the delivery of food and medicine to the Gaza Strip.
Abbas, who held talks in Cairo on Sunday with Mubarak and Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said Hamas was responsible for the violence because it had ignored his request to renew the cease-fire, which expired 10 days ago.

Abbas said he and his aides had contacted Hamas figures numerous times, directly and indirectly, to urge them to renew the cease-fire, but to no avail.

"We begged them not to end the cease-fire so as not to give Israel an excuse to launch its aggression," Abbas told reporters. "We condemn this aggression and we want dialogue with Hamas."

Abbas added that the PA, and not Hamas, was responsible for the Palestinians. His remark was seen as an indication of his desire to regain control over the Gaza Strip after Hamas is ousted from power.

Gheit also lashed out at Hamas and accused it of preventing wounded Palestinians from crossing into Egypt for medical treatment.

Cairo, he said, offered to take scores of wounded Palestinians, but Hamas banned them from travelling through the Rafah border crossing.

Hamas is using all the people of Gaza as a vast human shield.

You know, I distinctly remember reading somewhere that Soros IS the money behind the International Solidarity Movement (ISM).
Gonna have to dig for that one.
I just know that Jew hater Soros is involved in this somehow.

There's obviously money there. Their website listed monies. But being a private organization, I don't know how much luck one would have actually getting a list of donors/donations.

Great site. I'll go in-depth on it later. The zulu Wars are one of my "favorite" wars to read about and the battle for Rorkes Drift are still taught in Military Science.

There is a great book written by a military author name of McDonough called "Defense of Hill 781" taken from the Boer War and a battle called Defense of Duffers Drift that is a great read you may be interested in.

The biggest danger that moonbat would face is if Hamas decided to "martyr" the boat and crew etc so they could try to blame it on Israel... The Israelis will most likely just arrest and deport her afterwards with mebbe/mebbe not a stay in jail etc... Unless of course the boat is on a suicide mission and fires on the IDF... We'll just have to wait and see... pass the popcorn...

re: #45 lawhawk

She's treading on dangerous waters, and that's precisely the reason that she's going. She hopes and expects Israel not to stop her - let alone possibly shoot the boat she's on trying to break the blockade.

One has to wonder what else is being transported on board the boat - weapons and ammo? I wouldn't put it past her and the other useful idiots on board to attempt such a thing.

How wonderful for the propaganda effort! Marvelous drama, radical chic, celebrity and so many perks await the "activists" when they return. Socially and professionally, the sob sector will sustain them with articles, interviews, an entire career in the stable of keynote presenters, luncheon speakers, workshop presenters and symposia panelists. Important, so easily one is important! A resume of progressive courage and compassion, activism, struggle.

What if something untoward occurs? That is a win-win for the Left. Martyrs are feelgood fodder for the idiocracy, who will name grants and scholarships and lecture series for the martyrs, write books and have careers analyzing the incident! Gramiscian genius triumphs.

Cin-dee McCrazy got them Ping-Pong ball eyeballs-buggin'-out-on-stalks thang down pat! She used to be known as "The Cutest Li'l Communist in Congress" and "Aisle Bird" due to her getting all dolled up in a VERY conspicuous, colorful outfit and taking a seat at the end of the aisle so that she ALWAYS had a photo-op with whomever was walking down the aisle, even W. She was the Congress-critter from the the next district to the west of me here in Norcross and I thanked my lucky stars that she never represented me!

We even have a Parkway named after her (horrors!), but thankfully, some folks are trying to do something about it. (This effort is a year old, so perhaps it is time to revisit it!)

McKinney should show Hamas how American entrepreneurism works, by opening an IHOP franchise in Gaza. At their opening ceremony maybe she could sit down in front of an Israeli D9 bulldozer, and thus join Gaza's long list of legendary Darwin Award hopefuls.

 Frank says:

Well Mike, I'm abnormal. -- When FZ appeared on the Mike Douglas show (solo, playing guitar with recorded backup), Mike said "Your latest album is called Zoot Allures. How do you come up with such names for your records?" (or something equally banal!) Frank's succinct reply is printed above.
