Some new IAF videos; the first shows attacks on armed Grad rocket launchers in Gaza, and the second shows the destruction of at least 40 smuggling tunnels in the Rafah area on the border with Egypt—with numerous secondary explosions indicating the presence of weapons stockpiles.

Btw, i linked to Dershowitz's new column on the fight. On Isreal, Dershowitz is a true anti-idiotarian.

Also, one other thing. Why is it that everyone pretends that gaza is merely being blockaded by isreal? Are we forgetting that egypt is, too? just sayin'.

(mind you, i don't mean anti-idiotarians like LGF when i say that, but just about every msm outlet.)

On the second video, at the end look at the alignment of the strikes.
A perfect line.

As I said last thread. The secondaries are causing more damage than the IAF strike.

We should remember that next time the media parades civilian collateral casualties in front of us.

Which harmed them? The Strike, or the Hamas weapons cooking off afterwards.

13 Joo-LiZ  Wed, Dec 31, 2008 9:49:44am

That second video is actually very impressive... you can see how the targets are getting demolished, one by one, in a row.

Signs Israel getting ready to invade Gaza

There are growing signs Israel is preparing for a possible ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.

A long column of tanks and other army vehicles was strung out along an access road to Gaza. Dozens of tanks are parked in a rain-soaked field on the frontier.

Heavy cloud cover that could hinder ground forces is expected to lift tomorrow.

It's the Road Map, stupid.

For all the idiots who are busy complaining about Israel's action, Israel is simply pursuing the Road Map that everyone supposedly agreed upon.

What does the road map say?

...sustained, targeted and effective operations aimed at confronting all those engaged in terror and dismantlement of terrorist capabilities and infrastructure.

From the look of it, Israel is doing precisely that.

74 Killgore Trout  Wed, Dec 31, 2008 10:04:08am

If you're in Gaza and your phone rings you better answer...
Israelis detail combat sorties over Gaza

A senior Israeli military officer says jetfighters have carried out some 500 sorties against Hamas targets in Gaza. He says helicopters have flown hundreds more combat missions.

The officer claimed 95 percent of the intended targets were hit.

He said the targets included Hamas command posts, some 130 missile launch sites and anyone who could be carrying a weapon. Also hit was Hamas Islamic University, which he described as a weapons research facility.

He said all efforts were made to avoid civilian casualties, including calling residents on their phones to warn them their buildings were about to be hit. However, dozens of civilians have been killed in the offensive, along with some 200 Hamas policemen.

The Palis could either build infrastructure to improve the lives of their families and for a more prosperous future or they can build terror tunnels with the explicit use of killing Jews. It's seems clear what their choice has been thus far.

Take it to them IAF. This far no further. They crossed the line months ago the time for waiting and negotiations has gone and was never taken seriously by these barbarians. The time has come to crush this enemy until the will to fight has been crushed out of the and they are willing to see sense.

Too bad that one rocket got away.

I think that was for PR purposes in order to demonstrate that the grads were actually being fired and were not simply mock-ups created by Hamas to make it look like they had grads when they didn't. I hate that they had to let the one go, but it may have been neccessary for the war of words -- which the Israelis seem to be on top of this time.

They seem to be using a lot of missiles, as opposed to guided gravity bombs.

In the missile category, look at what can be carried by F-15s and -16s.
Then look at the CEP (Circular Error Probability) that's the average of how far off the bullseye they are. Missiles have none listed, bombs do.

Israel is using up more expensive stuff, guided missiles as opposed to bombs. To insure accuracy. This ensures mission success and limits collateral damage.

The BM-21 "Grad" (БМ-21 "Град" meaning hail) is a launch vehicle of the Soviet 122 mm multiple-launch rocket system developed in the early 1960s. BM stands for 'combat vehicle' (Russian: Боевая Машина); grad means 'hail'. In the West, the system was initially known as M1964.

Used by over 50 countries, Grad is the world’s most widely used rocket artillery system.[citation needed] Its success in combat has led other countries to copy it or to develop similar systems.

Replace Hamas with 'Nazi party/Hitler', and 'Palis' with 'Germans'.
Think the Allies ought to have been more proportionate in the bombings?
wasn't there a book,r ecently, called 'Hitlers willing helpers'?

Majority has voted for either of them - supported them over the years, I don't think the brush is too broad.
Yes, life is difficult under a dictatorship - yes, there were 'good' Germans, as there certainly are good Palis.

Confirmed ...well per FOX ...2 Israelis shot in Denmark ...

Proportionate response

Eurabia Alert. By striking at Jews in Denmark, Islamic jihadists hit two of their prime enemies at once: the wicked and ubiquitous Zionists, and the country that published the dreaded Motoons. "Two Israelis attacked in Denmark mall," from the Jerusalem Post, December 31 (thanks to Kathy Shaidle and Kevin):

Two Israelis were lightly wounded when they were shot by a group of men in a mall in Copenhagen, Denmark on Wednesday afternoon.

The Israelis were selling Dead Sea cosmetics at a stand in the mall - a job many young Israelis pursue, usually following military service, in order to save money for their future, and to continue their travels.

A group of men with Middle Eastern-looking features approached them and an altercation developed. A man in the group then brandished a weapon and fired at the Israelis.

The public's assistance was requested in capturing the shooter, who was probably a Palestinian, police said. His getaway car was already found but he had fled on foot...

No, those were underground day care centers and places where food and medicine is distributed to the elderly.

Gosh, I hope this doesn't affect the aid coming to the locals. Just look at all those nearby homes, with residents in need.

Unfortunately, this only proves what people already know: they build tunnels and stockpile weapons. If Israel continues for more than a week before some bogus chickenshit ceasefire is called, I'll be pleasantly surprised. As far as I'm concerned, it could rain all kinds of bad shit on Hamas and the rest of them 24/7, like the weather channel. They have it coming in spades.

After an anti-Israel demonstration organised by the Arab European League which went out of control, Jews do not dare to get out of their houses. In Antwerp there is a Jewish neighbourhood where many orthodox Jews are living. During the demonstration of today violent youths (arabs mainly I believe) wanted to enter the Jewish neighbourhood. Fortunately the Belgian police stood in their way.
Please, send your support towards the Jewish community through this blog:

Gaza is a smaller area, with flatter terrain, and the IDF has had plenty of time to scan the entire battlespace in multiple spectrums, so most prepared positions should have been detected and be under observation. once they are manned, in anticipation of, or reaction to a ground attack, you hit them with PGM's and kill the occupants.

Just look above at the first IAF film -- and one can see that these are NOT homemade, shoulder-fired, amateur "rockets" -- the HAMAS are using GRAD rockets -- which the IAF destroyed. These are obviously NOT "shoulder-fired" "rockets" but sophisticated rockets (probabaly supplied from Iran) complete with LAUNCH PADS. Qassam rockets are fueled by mixture of sugar and potassium nitrate, which is a widely available fertilizer. The warhead is filled with TNT and urea nitrate.

In other words, Hamas can steal the sugar and fertilizer from humanitarian aid and use it to build its rockets for use against Israeli civilians. Gazans go hungry as Hamas literally steals food from the mouths of babies to fire rockets.

Have to agree. Think about the US Marines' grand tour of the Pacific during WWII. About the only advantage over the Marines the IDF would have is that Arabs are not nearly as ready to die for their cause as the Japanese were.

See this regarding that. #227 redc1c4

The vehicle finally stops at a dirt track. The Islamic Jihad rocket factory is housed in a kind of garden shed. The hut measures five meters by five meters, metal pipes with small wings lean against the wall in the corner: Half finished Qassams. There are several tightly packed garbage bags on a shelf. "TNT," says Abdul and produces a chunk. The explosive looks like lumpy sugar. A large cauldron is sitting ready on a gas cooker while bags with Hebrew writing are piled up high up against the wall. "Fertilizer for the rocket fuel," Abdul says and grins. "We get it in Israel."

Abdul is 22 but, tall and lanky as he is, he could still pass for 16. He has been making rockets for three and a half years and says he has finished hundreds of Qassams. A veteran with a double life: He studies geography during the day and makes his contribution to the Jihad at night.

Qassams are primitive missiles lacking any guidance system. Building one is "child's play," Abdul says: One of the team welds the rocket casings together from metal pipes, while another fills the warhead with up to three kilograms of TNT. Abdul's specialty is the last step: the rocket propulsion. He and his mates brew up the fuel out of a mixture of glucose, fertilizer and a few other chemicals, which is used to fire the rockets at distances of up to nine kilometers. Right at the end, he inserts the detonator cap, which makes the missile explode on impact. They hide the finished rockets in depots, which the launch commandos can then freely avail themselves of. Abdul only fires them himself when he has made some tiny improvements to a proven model. "Then I want to see how it flies."

re: #292 Peacekeeper

What the IAF (Israeli Air Force) is taking out (evidence in first video LiveLeak posted above) are not shoulder-held "qassam" rockets, but Grad rockets and their launch sites. Obviously, if a rocket is hitting Beersheba, 28 miles from the Gaza Strip, then the rockets aren't being "shoulder launched", as you're no doubt aware (but seemingly the LIARS at CNN are broadcasting ancient "news" reels circa 2000? showing Qassam, "homemade" rockets -- as if this were the sole concern of the Israeli military, when such a suggestion belies the actual videos currently released by the IAF).

If one marries one's cousin, the risks aren't that high, no - that's quite correct, if I remember my genetic lottery scores. But, if one marries one's cousin, and it's been going on for several generations, the risks rise sharply.

That is, if one's mother and father, and grandmothers and grandfathers and so one, were all cousins, you're asking for trouble.

re: #308 J.S.

The press corps is generally completely ignorant about weapons. I remember talking to a rather bright young reporter, who, despite having been covering national security for a few years, couldn't tell what sort of weapon the SWAT guys were carrying.

She referred to them as, "big, scary guns."

Consanguity after the third generation is okay, anything "earlier" than third-generation and the risk of recessives combining (in a bad way) rises asymptotically. So sayeth the genetecists.

IDF needs to stop nit picking real estates and target the breathing scums that hide in their coward holes or Mosques (reports say they disguise themselves as doctors / nurses in hospitals to avoid being targeted) and free Shalit.

If the Islamic Nazis executed him or won't return him, Israel must raze Gaza into a sandbox. Enough is enough, this is the time these fascists need to be defeated and kneel to Israel 5 times a day. If that opens up other fronts, Israel has the power to go Sparta.

So Israel, take the first step from bombing unmanned real estates and offices and enjoy the ride.

If, after this latest battle of good vs evil, the world keeps spinning, we should keep on the front burner the inevitable truth that mankind will never vanquish evil. We just have to be steadfast in discerning it and courageous enough to force it into retreat until the next skirmish. The Cold War was never won, Hitler never remains dead, North Korea, North Vietnam, and Cuba still exist. Good can never become complacent.

Has IDF released the video (they've got to have made one) of them hitting the mosque and the secondary explosions going off?

[Link: www.jpost.com...]

The IAF continued its assault on Gaza terrorist targets on Wednesday afternoon, bombing a Gaza City mosque and destroying a large number of rockets hidden inside.

Channel 10 reported that the IAF had received high-level orders to hit the mosque after Hamas terror operatives had run there with several rockets and Grad-type missiles. ...
