Stupid YouTube Tricks, Pro-Hamas Version

Video | Fri, Jan 2, 2009 at 11:39:52 am PST

Here’s a mind-numbingly schtoopid new trick from a Hamas supporter at YouTube, who created a channel in which he’s posting anti-Israel (and antisemitic) videos with the same titles and descriptions as the IDF’s official YouTube videos, under the charming name terroristisrail.

Those IDF videos are a big problem for the Islamists.

8 lawhawk  Fri, Jan 2, 2009 11:43:56am

So, let me get this straight - YouTube will let those videos persist, all while YouTube goes forward with TOS violations against the authentic IDF videos.

Youtube? or the channel?

People will go to youtube, do a search for an IDF video, click one of these by accident, and get stuck watching anti-semitic/israeli propaganda.

They aren't going to the sites/channels per se, but are searching for them. If you're using the same keywords, both will come up. It's a disinformation campaign taking advantage of the search engine process.

40 Outrider  Fri, Jan 2, 2009 11:52:58am

These clowns go in to You Tube and systematically flag any and all videos they do not approve of in the attempt to get them yanked.

Then they hack in to various Israeli news sites replacing it their own propaganda and follow that with threats to go after American web sites.

Now this new twist of putting up propaganda and labeling it with legitimate IDF labels.

All of this is done, not by Hamas, but by Western sympathizers and supporters. I would suggest it is time for us to reciprocate by searching out and having these Jihad snuff flicks removed by flagging them as offensive. Search out and flag as offensive these duplicitous videos. They certainly meet the YouTube criteria for offensive videos and need to be removed. Track down these hackers and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

Why should Internet Terrorism be allowed to flourish?

Plenty left, I'm sure. Have to figure some kind of statistical logistic curve to estimate how many. Question is how many major weapons they had, and still have. Smaller numbers both, one hopes.

If Israel *ever* responded appropriately, their desire for such small and nearly useless arms, would fall to zero, indeed would be negative.

I hope Israel does no ground incursion. What is there for it to do, just parade around and get shot at?

Artillery barrages were also being fired into the strip while aircraft dropped bombs on open ground that the army will need to cross, and where Hamas has placed mines and dug tunnels to allow its guerrillas to outflank the invaders.

The only reason I can think of for them to do it, is to prove that they can, try out new tactics.

There is nothing for a ground force to do, in Gaza.

... unless Israel wanted to reoccupy it with a thought to administering it for a while and turning it over to Fatah. I mean the PA, does anyone think that is a good idea?

101 SpiritOf1683  Fri, Jan 2, 2009 12:25:45pm

Time for my say on the Gaza strip and the mindset of those who inhabit it:

Why should the Israelis be so scrupulous at avoiding civilian deaths? The terrorists and the so-called civilians are in it together. They are as much the enemy of Israel and the West in the here and now of 2009 as what the German Armed Forces and civilian population were enemies of Britain in 1940. German civilians sought victory over Britain every bit as much as what their troops and airmen did, and likewise, Gazan 'civilians' seek the destruction of Israel every bit as much as what the terrorists do. The only way for Israel to win is to wage total war without scruples, and get these facts through to the Western population. Could the Allies have won World War II without targeting German civilians as well as their military? Certainly not. In the Gaza Strip, every adult civilian is a potential terrorist. Every child is a potential future terrorist. And that must be realised by all. Better that a five year old Gazan dies under bombs today than allow it to murder 20 or 30 in an Israeli shopping mall 15 years from now. That is the horrible calculus we are faced with in Israel and the West today, because of them and the way they are. We, in our politically-correct multiculturalist Western minds, still think these fanatical Gazans are just like us, that their five year olds are no different from our five year olds. But they're as different from us as what sugar is from potassium cyanide.

Sir Arthur Harris probably didn't lose sleep if five year old Germans died under Allied bombs, because his focus was victory, and he believed a massive bombing campaign would eventually contribute to defeat Germany, and that if you start wars, five year olds will inevitably get killed in them, and to do anything less would cause us to lose the war. If anything was to make him lose sleep, it would be over whether those bomber crews came back alive. And we already know that those who carry out homicide bombings in Israel have been filled with the sort of hatred and antisemitism that gave them their ambition to carry out their heinous act from being three years old or less.

We have so much to learn about the type of enemy we are up against, and we haven't got very long to learn it, and clinging to politically correct multiculturalist dogmas will only put back the day when we finally learn. And by then, it might well be too late.

re: #92 itellu3times

That's not entirely true. The only way to completely wrap up the Hamas terror infrastructure is to engage in a ground operation to destroy ammo dumps, capture terrorists, and seize key areas so that Hamas has no choice but to surrender. Air campaigns might result in damage to the infrstructure, but Hamas will be able to maintain some semblance of control over Gaza. A ground operation would destabilize Hamas' operational control on the ground (such as it is - they are a terrorist group first and foremost, but destroy their C3I and you destroy the entity).

Pat Robertson predicts socialism, rebound under Obama

Citing information he says is from God, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said today that America is headed for veritable socialism as well as an economic rebound under President Barack Obama in 2009.

“What the Lord was saying, the people are willing to accept socialism to alleviate their pain,” Robertson said on a broadcast of "The 700 Club."
....
Robertson said the economy, particularly the stock market, could start bouncing back by the second quarter.

“Cast off the gloom and the doom because things are getting ready to turn around,” he said. “I’m flying in the face of all of the experts or most of the experts who say, ‘Oh no, no, no, it’s going to get worse,’ but I don’t think so.”

I think they might be doing it largely because nothing else has a chance to permanently effect change in the situation. I can't imagine that they want to do it, but what else is there? Eventually, air power has it's limits against small groups of individuals hiding in a sprawling urban mess. So-called "carpet bombing" is not a realistic option in this battle.
I don't know if they intend to retake control, but if they can kill or physically drive the bulk of Hamas out of the area ( maybe into Egypt, maybe into wherever they can smuggle themselves), then that will be an improvement that was worth the effort.

There is plenty for a ground force to do in Gaza; further destroy that portion of the tunnel infrastructure which survived the aerial attacks, find the Hamas leaders and facilities which survived the attacks thus far and take them out, and enable all those people who had so much fun jumping through flaming truck tires to get their raisins quickly.

So, if the Hamas leaders are disguised as nurse and hiding in hospitals, IDF is going to search the hospital?

If their info is that good, and that is their intention, more power to them. But I doubt both parts of that. Actually, on second thought, I doubt the wisdom of such a move, even given the info, intention, and capability.

If there is someone Israel wants, they should publicly demand they be turned over. If they get them that way, that has 100x the impact of grabbing them. It gives the Palis some way of responding positively. Of course it won't happen easily, but it gives some POINT to the entire exercise, which right now it lacks.

From the Fox homepage:

"There is no chance. Is there any chance for fire to co-exist with the water?" said Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of one of the group's founding members.

Yousef added: "It's not about Israel, it's not about Hamas: it's about both ideologies."

[...]

"Islam is not the word of God," said Yousef. "If you want to be offended it's your problem. But you know something? Go study. Think for a second that I might be right. So wake up, look at your path, see where you're going. Are you really going to heaven with 72 virgins after you kill yourself and kill another 20 people?"

[...]

"The Hamas leadership, including my father, they're responsible; they're responsible for all the violence that happened from the organization. I know they describe it as reaction to Israeli aggression, but still, they are part of it and they had to make decisions in those operations against Israel (for) which there was the killing of many civilians."

In my viewpoint, yes, since that group actually made and advertised a clip stating that their purpose was the violent overthrow of the government.

The REAL question is should groups like SDS be banned?

The analogy is whether a "minority" of Muslims, which we do in fact ban, arrest, and persecute should be equated with the 'parent' group.

My military knowledge is "informal" but it includes the suggestion that one doesn't go head to head with any force if you don't have a darned good reason. Better to go around, or over, or fool them into going somewhere else. Israel had a bad time with prepared defenses in Lebanon. I don't believe Gaza is as well prepared, but again, this could be a test or demonstration or something. If so, I sure hope it's worth the cost.

The question is how many Iranian anti-tank weapons the Hamas still has available to field.

The Hamas "army" may be sizable, but its certainly not particularly experienced, and it lacks air support. In any "normal" military action, Israel would quickly wipe the floor with them.

IDF's handicap on the ground in Gaza isn't the skill of the Hamas soldiers, its their ability to blend in with non-combatants coupled with the IDF's reluctance to create collateral damage.

Answer?

The lifelong Republican ___________, who either is not voting for a Republican, is opposing a Republican President's policies, or pens a Republican bashing book or article.

And this individual does not need to espouse MSM acceptable beliefs on all issues. No, this individual is a useful idiot for the issue at hand. Buchanan is a perfect example. His beliefs regarding abortion, the border, gun control, etc. in no way match the ideals held by the MSM. However, he hates Jews and Israel, a stance which most the of MSM share, and therefore, can speak for "Republicans" on this issue.

You have to be able to code-switch to run an operation like Gaza. The activisty crowd in the West and some of the donors elsewhere in the Middle East want "we are starving, we are sobbing in the streets, we are overwhelmingly outnumbered, we are going to die right NOW if you don't help". The crowd at home, plus the rest of the donors need to hear "We will crush them, we will drive them out, they are SO sc***d."

That was kind of my point. "Moderate" Muslims appear to be as fanciful as Obama's purple Unicorns. Truly "moderate" people wind up rejecting Mohammedanism.

I disagree. What I do see, though, is that Muslims who are not political crazies tend to not be wildly political, at least not in the area of Islam. They work jobs, send the kids to school, raise money for a school library, go to the mosque social, and keep their distance from the nutjobs. What people like me (for example), keep wanting to see is the rise of, I dunno, the Muslim version of Reform and Conservative Judaism, highly politically active, aggressively denouncing violent jihadniks, and organizing to support those who fight them. Largely, that doesn't happen. People who do get into that kind of thing tend to be people who have either left the community, or are marginal to it in some way, and some of them, honestly, although I think they are earnest, are a little too happy with all the attention the non-Muslims give them. They're not rebuilding Islam, they're getting pats from other political activists for bashing it. The major exception I can think of is Irshad Manji, whose 'ijtihad' concept, I think, could go a long way--but one woman doesn't a movement make.

It reminds me, in an indirect way, of the attempts of non-Orthodox Anglo Jews to get Israelis involved in building Reform and Conservative movements in Israel. There just hasn't been that much interest, although most Israelis are religiously observant in a way that resembles the Reform/Conservative pattern. But still, your third-generation Israeli Mizrahi type doesn't want to agitate in the street for Conservative rabbis to be recognized, he's OK watching TV on Shabbat afternoon, and occasionally dropping into an Orthodox synagogue.

We may need to figure out ways to approach this, rather than waiting endlessly for a moderate Muslim uprising, and getting disillusioned when it doesn't arrive.

No, that's just reporting a copyright violation on his "avatar" image.

I've been flagging his vids as "hateful or inciting violence". YouTube makes you explain why now (to prevent "abuse"), so I noted that he "was copying the titles and descriptions of the IDF videos in order to redirect viewers searching for the IDF videos to his anti-Semitic propaganda".

We'll wait and see if he gets a TOS block, or if I do.

That's great.
I noticed though that if you mark it as spam you get an option "Misleading text" regarding the title of the video. I marked most of his spam that way. That's his real intent, is to mislead viewers into antisemitic propaganda.

That's a better (and probably more effective) way of doing it.

re: #259 loggiedog

LGF2: "Charles Free Footballs", what a joke. It looks like such a silly site too. This copythug even takes pictures of California and posts them to make the site look like LGF, except with inverted colors.

Somebody's really bitter about gettin' banned.

I'm just watching some videos on youtube such as this one:

and the antisemitism in the comment section is just dripping of my screen.

Youtube is odd. It allows such hate speech, but does not allow very blurry black and white images of terrorists being bombed.

264 DavidSweden  Fri, Jan 2, 2009 4:53:28pm

I flagged them all for "misleading text".

"Account Suspended" - well done!

One man's "odd" is another man's "anti-semitic."

Kudos to those who reported this propaganda to YouTube. As PloniAlmoni mentioned, the account of the person who is posting this trash has been suspended. I am happy to see that YouTube decided to remove the account and not be the typical pro-pali "freedom of speech" spin artist that we see in the MSM.

Here was another trick. Some yoyos got the passwords to change the IP in the DNS server for [Link: www.ynetnews.com...] and pointed it to another server. Here is part of the traceroute:
