Also note this section at the bottom of my post:

Meanwhile, at an earlier San Francisco Gaza protest on December 30, the Palestinian protesters (according to this post at the "At the Back of the Hill" blog) chanted the following slogans in Arabic:

"Itbach al Yahud" (slaughter the Jews)
"Falastin balad'na w'al Yahud qalab'na" (Palestine is our land and the Jews are our dogs)
"ba ruh, ba dam, nafdeek ya Falastin" (with our soul, with our blood, we will cleanse you oh Palestine),
"al mawt al Yahud" (death to the Jews),
"Khaybar Khaybar ya Yahud, jaish-Muhammad saya'ud" (Khaybar Khaybar oh Jews, the army of Muhammad will return).

At the Back of the Hill noted,

While the Arabs screamed their desire to exterminate Jews, the English-monolingualists simply stood there happily smiling their approbation.

42 Silhouette  Sat, Jan 3, 2009 5:32:28pm

They are getting more and more open in their attacks.

From Nov 2007, in Toronto

The Betar-supported Campus Coalition of Zionists (CCZ), together with Hasbarah, manned a table in Vari Hall, with permission from the university, with pamphlets and brochures about the danger emanating from Iran.

However, the situation became very difficult for the students who participated. They were vastly outnumbered by pro-Arab students who surrounded them, and eventually the pro-Israel activists fled. As they left, there was cheering by the pro-Arab mob.

According to Feferman, “I’ve never seen anything like this at York. We weren’t even discussing the issues anymore. It was pure Jew hatred. That’s what it’s come to.”
In fact, Feferman noticed an acquaintance there and said hello, but received no acknowledgement. She emailed him later that day to apologize, explaining that she didn’t want everyone to know she was Jewish. To Feferman, this episode is a red light. “We know there’s a crisis when a student on campus is afraid to reveal she’s Jewish and feels unsafe,” he said.

And at San Francisco State in 2002

And all the Jews stood still, listening as the shouted hate of the counter-demonstrators filled the air with abuse.

As soon as the community supporters left, the 50 students who remained praying in a minyan for the traditional afternoon prayers, or chatting, or cleaning up after the rally, talking -- were surrounded by a large, angry crowd of Palestinians and their supporters. But they were not calling for peace. They screamed at us to "go back to Russia" and they screamed that they would kill us all, and other terrible things.

In NY

At the conclusion of the film, Binyamin Rister, a Jewish student at CUNY, raised his hand to ask the question, "Do you support terrorism?" The Arab presenters refused to answer. Rister politely repeated the same question only to find himself set upon by five CUNY security cops who dragged him from his seat and removed him from the room. One officer continued holding him by the neck on the outside escalator and repeatedly banged Rister's head against the wall as the escalator descended. Then, before they reached the bottom, the guard threw Rister head first down the remaining steps, injuring him severely enough to be taken to the hospital in a neck brace.

Binyamin Rister, 19, was taken by ambulance to a hospital in a neck brace by paramedics.

This is the second time a Jewish man was beaten up at an ISM event in this country. One year ago, Georgetown University guards severely beat a 67-year-old retired police officer for also

asking if the speakers supported terrorism.

re: #15 zombie

It's interesting how much some Arabic words are almost identical to Hebrew -- Arabic is the degraded and debased version of Hebrew, apparently. It's the Ebonics of the Holy Tongue.

I watched it again. Very interesting.

That woman was the aggressor, and attacked the person holding the Israeli flag. She then started shouting "stop, stop" while being dragged away. As the person holding the Israeli flagged was walking away she pleads with the police officer "stop them! You have to stop them! what are you doing?"

Very strange behavior indeed.

As Z and others noted above: she's a provocateur. She starts the fight, and then when the cops show up, she assumes the attacked/victim role. Very common tactic with these creeps.

I passed by the Palestine rally near the UN earlier today in a bus. A pathetic site, replete with large posters with fauxtography (teens with anguished expressions on their faces hurling rocks, with a fire blazing too perfectly behind them as a backdrop). Many of the signs were printed by that moronic organization, Answer Coalition. I hope most of the world is as sick and tired of the sad spectacle of a people whose leaders use them and their children as expendable pieces of trash.

It's interesting how much some Arabic words are almost identical to Hebrew -- Arabic is the degraded and debased version of Hebrew, apparently. It's the Ebonics of the Holy Tongue.

Arabic and Hebrew words are similar for the same reasons Spanish, Italian and French words are similar. The language evolved from the same root. In the latter case, Latin. In the former case, something that's called Proto-Semitic but that's long been lost, apparently.

In my experience, it's because they want affirmation. They want families, friends, and ultimately the entire world to second their delusions and bugaboos, and act as their support group. It's the application of the group-therapy model to all human relations -- a common phenomenon in the West, especially among educated neurotics.

re: #76 Gang of One

It's interesting how much some Arabic words are almost identical to Hebrew -- Arabic is the degraded and debased version of Hebrew, apparently. It's the Ebonics of the Holy Tongue.

That comment was as insulting as it is ignorant. Arabic maintains numerous rules of old West Semitic that are lost in Hebrew. As one obvious instance, Arabic bint versus Hebrew bat: it is easier to explain bint to bat than the reverse. By your logic Hebrew speakers "debased" the names of their own daughters. So let's not put value judgements on linguistic changes, please.

The Arabic of the Qur'an, now, is fascinating (and I'm fine with insulting the Qur'an...). Muslims say it's the purest form of Arabic because, a priori, the Qur'an is perfect so shaddap I KEEL YOU! But in actual fact many suras, including the longest and most important ones, are stuffed with lootings from the Aramaic language, particularly religious vocabulary. (Ibn Warraq's "What the Koran Really Says" has some good articles on this.) Why is that? Well, pagan Arabs wouldn't come up with these concepts by themselves and had to ask Syriac-speaking Christians and Aramaic-speaking Jews what all this stuff meant.

These types of leftist/muslim/anarchist demonstrations will continue to grow both in size and violence until they are forcefully stopped. As long as people are allowed to get away with thuggery they will push harder in the future.

Like bullies and degenerates everywhere; until someone stops them we will continue to be victims. Look at Europe as the current example. No one of significance is stepping in to stop the hatred therefore it will continue.

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing. Unfortunately we are going to allow it to break before we fix it.

I find that when I do speak up and say, "Let's not discuss politics." they then either 1) want to know why not or 2) say I "take things too seriously."

There may indeed be race riots. It only takes one side to riot. A lot of the so-called peace movement display a willingness to use force to get what they want. I think that was one of yours, as a matter of fact.

I think you're right.
I find that when I do speak up and say, "Let's not discuss politics." they then either 1) want to know why not or 2) say I "take things too seriously."

I was in an Arabic class in which the teacher wondered why the Jews who dealt with the Holocaust would subject the Palestinians to "the wall". I piped up and suggested that we move on to the actual lesson. Next day a nice elderly Englishwoman came up to me and asked, "why did you speak up, are you Jewish?"

I guess the moral of the story is, be glad your peers aren't European.

That's the problem with the blogosphere. re: #266 ArmyWife

You know, I expect that. When you are young and carefree you are liberal. Then you go to work for a bit, then you finally get a "real" job. Then you see your paycheck, zero in on the taxes and TADAAAA conservatism starts to take a hold of you.

This only works if you don't join the peace corp, though.

Seems to be the case mostly with women I think? I'm not completely generalizing but my sister was the same way, at UCLA she went liberal, until she saw Gray Davis thumping for Al Gore and she was like...That's what the Democrats are? ugh!

Not only that she actually READ what the parties were about, she's now a hardcore conservative.

However from my own experience, I never really became liberal at all, just a bit conservative, and now as I earn more and more money I'm starting to get almost libertarian, mainly because Conservatives don't seem to be worried about less spending/less taxes anymore.

Obama keeps silent on explosive Gaza conflict

WASHINGTON (AFP) — As the clock ticks down to Barack Obama's inauguration, the US president-elect has kept silent on the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its latest deadly turn in the Gaza Strip.

Obama transition officials have ventured little more than saying their boss is "monitoring" the situation in Gaza, where at least 460 people have been killed in eight days of air raids before a ground offensive began Saturday.

In the same period, Gaza militant rockets have killed four Israelis and wounded several dozen people.

"The president-elect is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza," his national security spokeswoman Brooke Anderson said in a statement after the ground assault got underway.

But she offered no further comment on the violence in Gaza and used a phrase repeated often by Obama and his aides: "There is one president at a time and we intend to respect that."

Senior advisor David Axelrod said Sunday that Obama is "committed" to achieving peace in the Middle East, in the only extended comments from the president-elect's team so far.

If Barry agreed with GWB on support for Israel he would say so.

Good thing Israel is taking care of this before the Messiah occupies the WH.

Bad craziness is pretty much all you get from some people: Hamas moves on Fatah 'collaborators'.

The Hamas government has placed dozens of Fatah members under house arrest out of fear that they might exploit the current IDF operation to regain control of the Gaza Strip.

The move came amid reports that the Fatah leadership in the West Bank has instructed its followers to be ready to assume power over the Gaza Strip when and if Israel's military operation results in the removal of Hamas rule.

Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken.

Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets.

"Hamas is very nervous, because they feel that their end is nearing," a senior Fatah official said. "They have been waging a brutal campaign against Fatah members in the Gaza Strip."

Meanwhile, sources close to Hamas revealed over the weekend that the movement had "executed" more than 35 Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with Israel and were being held in various Hamas security installations.

Which is why it is my moral obligation to speak up and set the record straight. Even if the moonbat isn't swayed , the audience will know the opinion isn't universal and quite frequently others will also agree with you and speak up. Many moonbats have been forced to retreat under such conditions.

Noor: "both sides broke the truce...Israelis went into Gaza and killed some Palestinians...Hamas fired rockets...didn't kill any Israelis."

Doesn't tell you that the Palestinians were killed because they were in the process of tunneling under the border to attack Israelis, and the fact that Israelis weren't killed during the truce was not for lack of trying on the Palestinians' part.

Frikkin' moral equivalency.

IMHO, the safest place to be in the world is on the wrong side of a U.N. Security Council "Resolution".

I agree there's nothing the UN can do. The only drawback is the propaganda effect that those who have faith in the UN can point to as another example of Israeli intransigence vis-a-vis "world opinion." The same world opinion that has allowed the Pali cancer to grow for six decades.

Yeah, that's something that has been bothering me since 9-11. Why are we still letting people from the Mohammedan bloc to get visas to come to America in the first place? We may not be able to deport American citizens for their religion, but no foreigner has the right to visit the United States. We don't have to let Saudi citizens come here and take flying lessons.

Not even if they do want to learn how to land the plane.

You're here on a visa and take part in an un-peaceful demonstration and get taken to jail? YOU GO HOME. You assault someone? YOU GO HOME.

While we're talking about nutty parents, my mother convinced herself that the fact things are more calm in Iraq had nothing to do with the surge--that the two were merely a coincidence. I asked her how she had come to that conclusion, and she had, of course, no reasons or facts or data to back it up--she just made it up out of her own head.

I told her that she could read the reports of people like Michael Yon online and get some actual information from people who were there in Iraq and who had seen and reported on the difference the surge had made, but she wasn't interested.

Then, of course, there's my brother, who works in mortgages, and who had experienced firsthand the efforts of ACORN to game the system, recognized the problem that subprime mortgages were for the financial system, understood that Obama was connected to ACORN for years--and voted for him anyway.

At least he was an informed voter!

Well, to be fair, the U.S. only sought that for "legitimacy". I promise you, had there been no Sec Council resolution (1440, I believe), Iraq, Afghanistan and all that followed would have still happened. The U.N. resolution merely gave Bush some leverage.

Had the U.N. actually taken part in the actions resulting from their resolution, you would have a point. However, as is their Modus Operandi, they simply resolve and resolve, but never act on their resolutions. They are like that person you know that makes New Years resolutions every year, but never actually follows through.

Eventually, you stop caring about their promise that THIS year it will be different.

Somehow they think that if the person is American, they can't be enemies of America, but can only be "dissenters."

It's how they protectively cope with dissent behavior.
Most are just comfortably removed and complacent and some are "spooked". To some It's too surreal. Others, it's just too much hatred to accept yet. Be patient. Remember what 911 did to wake up so many who were asleep to reality. I'm afraid it will take another shock of that magnitude to move them out of complacency mode to accept that we indeed have enemies living here amongst us.
