Meanwhile, at an earlier San Francisco Gaza protest on December 30, the Palestinian protesters (according to this post at the "At the Back of the Hill" blog) chanted the following slogans in Arabic:
"Itbach al Yahud" (slaughter the Jews)
"Falastin balad'na w'al Yahud qalab'na" (Palestine is our land and the Jews are our dogs)
"ba ruh, ba dam, nafdeek ya Falastin" (with our soul, with our blood, we will cleanse you oh Palestine),
"al mawt al Yahud" (death to the Jews),
"Khaybar Khaybar ya Yahud, jaish-Muhammad saya'ud" (Khaybar Khaybar oh Jews, the army of Muhammad will return).
At the Back of the Hill noted,
While the Arabs screamed their desire to exterminate Jews, the English-monolingualists simply stood there happily smiling their approbation.
Don't they need permits to stage these marches? Why not deny them permits if they engage in violence? Or am I being too much of a New Yorker here talking about permits?
im going to the demonstration at the holocaust museum in miami beach tomorrow at noon. Im gonna ride my bike down there. the one in ft. lauderdale was so crazy i have to see this one in person.
They are getting more and more open in their attacks.
From Nov 2007, in Toronto
The Betar-supported Campus Coalition of Zionists (CCZ), together with Hasbarah, manned a table in Vari Hall, with permission from the university, with pamphlets and brochures about the danger emanating from Iran.
However, the situation became very difficult for the students who participated. They were vastly outnumbered by pro-Arab students who surrounded them, and eventually the pro-Israel activists fled. As they left, there was cheering by the pro-Arab mob.
According to Feferman, “I’ve never seen anything like this at York. We weren’t even discussing the issues anymore. It was pure Jew hatred. That’s what it’s come to.”
In fact, Feferman noticed an acquaintance there and said hello, but received no acknowledgement. She emailed him later that day to apologize, explaining that she didn’t want everyone to know she was Jewish. To Feferman, this episode is a red light. “We know there’s a crisis when a student on campus is afraid to reveal she’s Jewish and feels unsafe,” he said.
And at San Francisco State in 2002
And all the Jews stood still, listening as the shouted hate of the counter-demonstrators filled the air with abuse.
As soon as the community supporters left, the 50 students who remained praying in a minyan for the traditional afternoon prayers, or chatting, or cleaning up after the rally, talking -- were surrounded by a large, angry crowd of Palestinians and their supporters. But they were not calling for peace. They screamed at us to "go back to Russia" and they screamed that they would kill us all, and other terrible things.
In NY
At the conclusion of the film, Binyamin Rister, a Jewish student at CUNY, raised his hand to ask the question, "Do you support terrorism?" The Arab presenters refused to answer. Rister politely repeated the same question only to find himself set upon by five CUNY security cops who dragged him from his seat and removed him from the room. One officer continued holding him by the neck on the outside escalator and repeatedly banged Rister's head against the wall as the escalator descended. Then, before they reached the bottom, the guard threw Rister head first down the remaining steps, injuring him severely enough to be taken to the hospital in a neck brace.
Binyamin Rister, 19, was taken by ambulance to a hospital in a neck brace by paramedics.

Familiar tactic.
Yup. Especially popular among female moonbats. They know that they're far less likely to catch nightstick or taser treatment than a man, and are also far more likely to be an object of sympathy in the rare cases when they do. So they tend to be the nuttiest of the provocateurs.
I'm personally way to violent to go to something like that. I would sharpen the bottom of my flag pole and...I would be in prison. That or the /spit would be real spit and a fight would break out.
Thanks for doing the great photo and video essays you do zombie.
He'd also be up on child abuse and child porn charges , too.
Anyone attempting to charge the Big Mo' with any crime, including sexual abuse of children, would be denounced as a irght wing zionist fascist stooge by the MSM and the Intelligencia. And that would be on a good day.
And of course our marxist commie press won't show how wacky and violent the pro-pali's are. San Fran must go into the ocean and take this weirdos with it SOON!
As I mentioned earlier this week, my wife's aunt from SF was in town for the holidays and as always, tossed a few 'grenades'- like why would our son (deployed in Afghanistan) decide to join the military...my response, to keep you safe you stupid hag (well, a bit more nuanced) and why the US keeps 'propping up' Israel (because the UN created the state 60 or so years ago and are an ally).
I truly suspect they put something in the water out there...
I didn't take this video myself! A rare instance of me having to rely on someone else's video -- because I didn't have time to attend the protest myself.

Why any guest would choose to be insulting to her hosts is beyond me.
Wife tells me that the news is reporting that most countries are supporting Israel, but that the people of most countries object.
I replied that it is spin, and that the "news" has become an opinion generating machine, and that the days of it being an information source, are long gone.
I just got home so if this was mentioned: Geraldo Rivera is an asshole and he has Hanan Ashrawi on FOX. Now I'm disgusted. I have been defending Fox all day, but this is unconscionable. Geraldo is an ignorant pig.
As an SF Bay Area resident (along with Zombie and various other prominent lizards), I'm just wondering if and when one of these hatefests will trigger a full-scale urban insurrection a la Los Angeles in 1992. I lived through that one, and really don't want to endure another week with a major city in flames and armed troops on the streets.

Be more harsh on her. These jerks around here need a bigger dose of reality.
Watch the woman in the video charge the barrier and try to attack the pro-Israel folks not once, but several times
I watched it again. Very interesting.
That woman was the aggressor, and attacked the person holding the Israeli flag. She then started shouting "stop, stop" while being dragged away. As the person holding the Israeli flagged was walking away she pleads with the police officer "stop them! You have to stop them! what are you doing?"
Yeah, she's a real 'pip'. That's PC for stupid bitch...and slightly to the left of Fidel Castro, but hey, it's family and it's Christmas-we had our own version of Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
LOL
There were a few people who were obviously managing (or trying to manage) the pro-Pali crowd. I wonder if they were ANSWER.
ANSWER was on hand, but the main organizers of Palestinians at this event were our good friends Hatem Bazian and Jess Ghannam, who were standing at the back inciting the crowd.

Very strange behavior indeed.
As Z and others noted above: she's a provocateur. She starts the fight, and then when the cops show up, she assumes the attacked/victim role. Very common tactic with these creeps.

Would be interesting if someone thought to perform a card check.. how many have overstayed their visit.
I passed by the Palestine rally near the UN earlier today in a bus. A pathetic site, replete with large posters with fauxtography (teens with anguished expressions on their faces hurling rocks, with a fire blazing too perfectly behind them as a backdrop). Many of the signs were printed by that moronic organization, Answer Coalition. I hope most of the world is as sick and tired of the sad spectacle of a people whose leaders use them and their children as expendable pieces of trash.

I just don't think that there are enough Muslims in the Bay Area to start such an insurrection. They're, at most, 1% of the population around here. And as for the moonbats, they've been partly mollified by the Obama win.
I think we're safe from insurrections for a while.

It's the whole "Look at me, I'm a rebel!" thing. Either that or they're afraid the trust fund might dry up if capitalist dad finds out.
Or it's done so that they can't be identified later. Paramilitary gangs from Belfast to Beirut hide behind masks so that they can terrorize urban populations with less fear of reprisal later.

My sister is from Seattle and last week, at a family celebration, could not resist provoking my son, who served in the IDF, by asking what he thought about Rachel Corrie and the theatrical production about her.
His response, "well I read about her in the news" instead of saying "St. Pancake was a not too bright fucked up nazi bitch who played 'chicken' in heavy equipment and lost" which would have sent Auntie Moonbat into a meltdown.
What would family reunions be like if we didn't have moonbat relatives to laugh at and make fun of?
In Athens and Paris the protests have already become more violent, with Greek protesters throwing molotov cocktails and French protesters burning cars.
They also had a pretty sizable demonstration in Kansas City as well...[Link: www.kctv5.com...] Click on the local tab to watch. There is almost no balance to this report whatsoever. Moonbattery is everywhere it seems.

It's basically 50-50 that at any family gathering, I'll get so disgusted with the liberals that I end up eating dinner with dog on the stoop outside. Personally I like his company better anyway.

Remember, they're just there to support refugees who live in refugee camps and wouldn't have anything to eat or wear if it weren't for the UN. And anyway it's all the fault of the Juice. And those greenhouses in Gaza had to be be destroyed because, well...umm...because they...you know, because they were built by Juice!
And the rockets, well...they're really just big firecrackers, and anyway no one got hurt except a few Juice...and...well, they...it's just self-defense and legitimate resistance against...you know, repression and stuff. And anyway what would you do?
International ANSWER (an acronym for "Act Now to Stop War and End Racism") is run by Ramsey Clark's International Action Center, which is staffed by members of the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party (WWP).

Arabic and Hebrew words are similar for the same reasons Spanish, Italian and French words are similar. The language evolved from the same root. In the latter case, Latin. In the former case, something that's called Proto-Semitic but that's long been lost, apparently.
Naw, we tolerate her. She just doesn't understand why we in CO still believe in defense and service to our country and support of our allies. It's OK, I made sure Fox news and Kudlow was on most of the time...

On the other hand, there's the phenomenon of "the revolution of rising expectations." Often things get craziest when there are signs of Hope and Change on the horizon. Remember that the urban upheavals of the 1960s took place during the administration of a Democratic president who had just signed into law the biggest and most wide-reaching civil-rights and "anti-poverty" bills in American history.

So SF hasn't escalated to that level yet.
YET.
January 2009 may end up being like May '68 -- but uglier and with much less sex.

50-50?!?! I should be so lucky. At my family gatherings, it's 100% moonbat, 0% sanity. (Even I have to stay in stealth mode.)
When your own father says that the United States is worse than North Korea, you know there's no point in continuing to speak.

In my experience, it's because they want affirmation. They want families, friends, and ultimately the entire world to second their delusions and bugaboos, and act as their support group. It's the application of the group-therapy model to all human relations -- a common phenomenon in the West, especially among educated neurotics.
It's interesting how much some Arabic words are almost identical to Hebrew -- Arabic is the degraded and debased version of Hebrew, apparently. It's the Ebonics of the Holy Tongue.
That comment was as insulting as it is ignorant. Arabic maintains numerous rules of old West Semitic that are lost in Hebrew. As one obvious instance, Arabic bint versus Hebrew bat: it is easier to explain bint to bat than the reverse. By your logic Hebrew speakers "debased" the names of their own daughters. So let's not put value judgements on linguistic changes, please.
The Arabic of the Qur'an, now, is fascinating (and I'm fine with insulting the Qur'an...). Muslims say it's the purest form of Arabic because, a priori, the Qur'an is perfect so shaddap I KEEL YOU! But in actual fact many suras, including the longest and most important ones, are stuffed with lootings from the Aramaic language, particularly religious vocabulary. (Ibn Warraq's "What the Koran Really Says" has some good articles on this.) Why is that? Well, pagan Arabs wouldn't come up with these concepts by themselves and had to ask Syriac-speaking Christians and Aramaic-speaking Jews what all this stuff meant.
Everyone in my house, at my parents' house, all our siblings (husband's and mine), sibling's spouses, nieces, and nephews, are all 100% sane. Not an Obama voter in sight.

I have a completely sane friend who thinks the Obama era will indeed bring race riots.

These types of leftist/muslim/anarchist demonstrations will continue to grow both in size and violence until they are forcefully stopped. As long as people are allowed to get away with thuggery they will push harder in the future.
Like bullies and degenerates everywhere; until someone stops them we will continue to be victims. Look at Europe as the current example. No one of significance is stepping in to stop the hatred therefore it will continue.
All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing. Unfortunately we are going to allow it to break before we fix it.
As I refrained from talking politics (or sex for that matter) with my out there leftist in-laws while in Vermont, I couldn't get an inside feel for this. But wow was it tempting. The MIL lost her Senate run. (snicker). Oh sorry, didn't mean for that to be out loud.

I was at a church meeting a few weeks ago when a moonbat said, "It would be boring if we all thought alike."
I said, "That's nonsense. Life would be so much easier if we all thought alike; it's just not possible."
It actually shut her up for a minute.
Sadly, the moonbats have taken over the direction of that church, so I left to join a more traditional Anglican parish.
Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken.

I suppose I should also mention that I can't ever see my Dad saying such a thing...probably because he fought against real North Koreans in '51-53, and got a first-hand look at true totalitarianism in action.

Same here. The old lefties in my family are all dead and buried and I "trained" the rest.
This is reaching past verbal protest. This group is physically aggressive. I fear that the Israel embassy

This is getting out of accepted bounds for the peaceful legal range of protesting.
For the Jews living in this country, I'm glad you have the right to arm yourselves. Please consider the option. Reading about some of these 'protests', it has me spooked too.
Most people on the Right have jobs and families, so they don't have the time and money it takes to be a professional protestor. These kind of things take some organization and funds to pull off a meaningful protest. I'd be really interested in seeing where the funding for this came from. Where does the Stalinist front group International ANSWER get their funding?
And then there is the possibility of violent confrontations like this. In places like San Francisco, you can pretty well trust the police to ignore what the Leftists do, and to drop the hammer on people from the Right for any infraction. Outside of the Left Cost, that wouldn't be the case, but how much media attention can you get even if you get a thousand protestors is, say, Nashville?
If the media don't support your cause, the best you can hope for is a condecending blurb in the middle of the Local section of the local paper. You won't get any National coverage unless you fuck up and make your side look very bad.
Right or left, there are supporters of Israel with jobs and there are supporters of Israel without jobs. (I do realize that more supporters of Israel tend to lean right but not all by any means.) In Philadelphia, pro-Israel demonstrations attract a fair number of people, many of whom have jobs. They, you know, take an hour off and then go back to work.
What they don't do is go roaming the streets looking for anti-Israel nutjobs to pick a fight with. It appears that's what this "peace scarf" crowd was doing here. Sick. Very very sick.
No -- there are comments and they are all extremely supportive. People are saying stuff like, "Mr. Ayers, you are my idol" and "You should be Secretary of Education," in all seriousness.
In his post, he also says his wife (and fellow terrorist) Bernardine Dohrn should be appointed Attorney General.
That's sad. My Pops still adheres to the HST/JFK Cold-War Liberal politics of his younger years, and we get into arguments sometimes, but he'd never disown me over something as ultimately petty as ideological disagreements.
So true, my wife's aunt was aghast that no one else at the table could agree to her moonbat points of view-it was a fun evening-really.
A friend of mine is working on a thesis about the phenomenon that people on the "left" feel free to opine openly about their politics with the assumption that everyone around them is in total agreement, while people who are not "left" tend to keep quiet.
LOL-my sister-in-law's daughter (Univ student) confessed during the Christmas dinner political debacle that she voted for Obama...her mom and dad were a bit disappointed, but gracious about it...
I half expected to see him standing in the streets of Gaza with a dead child in his arms crying.
With his luck, the baby would turn out to be only sleeping, awaken, ruin his clothes, mother would hit him with a bottle or a rock, police arrest him for kidnapping...
He is fun to watch. I like him. He can be a moron, but he is an honest moron. He is not spewing lies to support an agenda. He is merely...Geraldo!
This ex-hamas guy who converted to Christianity, where does he live---CA? I can't believe he is showing his face on TV. I hope he has body guards and good health insurance?
You know, I expect that. When you are young and carefree you are liberal. Then you go to work for a bit, then you finally get a "real" job. Then you see your paycheck, zero in on the taxes and TADAAA conservatism starts to take a hold of you.
This only works if you don't join the peace corp, though.
Worse, actually. Even I am shocked at what he believes. What makes it especially bizarre is that he is a long-time veteran and once used to be quite savvy about the world. He has no "internal Web nonsense filter," being too old to have developed one. By chance, he fell into the moobatopshere online, and he been plummeting into the spiraling madness ever since.

He's the son of a Hamas founder. God bless him and keep him safe.
They can a have a cease fire anytime they want.
Put down their weapons, raise a white flag, and show the IDF every single rocket, AK and round in their possession.
I think you're right.

I was in an Arabic class in which the teacher wondered why the Jews who dealt with the Holocaust would subject the Palestinians to "the wall". I piped up and suggested that we move on to the actual lesson. Next day a nice elderly Englishwoman came up to me and asked, "why did you speak up, are you Jewish?"
I guess the moral of the story is, be glad your peers aren't European.

I'm sorry to hear that.
That's the problem with the blogosphere. As much as I hail the dawn of "new media" and responsible "citizen-journalism", unless I point people to the right sites -- the one's with proper citations and references and reliable sources -- they can inevitably find evidence of every conspiracy they can imagine.
You know, I expect that. When you are young and carefree you are liberal. Then you go to work for a bit, then you finally get a "real" job. Then you see your paycheck, zero in on the taxes and TADAAA conservatism starts to take a hold of you.
This only works if you don't join the peace corp, though.
Seems to be the case mostly with women I think? I'm not completely generalizing but my sister was the same way, at UCLA she went liberal, until she saw Gray Davis thumping for Al Gore and she was like...That's what the Democrats are? ugh!
Not only that she actually READ what the parties were about, she's now a hardcore conservative.
However from my own experience, I never really became liberal at all, just a bit conservative, and now as I earn more and more money I'm starting to get almost libertarian, mainly because Conservatives don't seem to be worried about less spending/less taxes anymore.
Of course not-it's like I told my wife's aunt-if I have my way, she'll always have the right to express her views...I also said I hope she'll fight just as hard to protect MY right to express my views...she just looked at me blankly. They just don't get it...
It IS Zombie's father, here. We shouldn't call him a moron. My mother is also a lefty taken in by each and every talking point and can't articulate WHY she is a liberal beyond those specific points. But she is my mom and I love her despite this affliction.
I the other countries are realizing that Israel is playing by their own rules now, and they don't like it one bit--especially because Israel is so superior.
They also had a pretty sizable demonstration in Kansas City as well...[Link: www.kctv5.com...] Click on the local tab to watch. There is almost no balance to this report whatsoever. Moonbattery is everywhere it seems.
Just watched the video you linked to-- of course the reporter said at the very end these folks were asking Mr. Hopey Changey to intervene.
In the United States every servant of the people, military or civilian, takes an oath to preserve protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
For the Jews living in this country, I'm glad you have the right to arm yourselves. Please consider the option. Reading about some of these 'protests', it has me spooked too.
This really doesn't spook me. I have always known this
dissent of Israeli's by Arabs would reach the blood boiling, hatred over the top of the protest meter here in the USA. They live to hate. They die to live eternally.
I say expose their hate...and wake up the ignorant sympathizing moonbats and the silent moderate Islamists, so they can see this protesting with their own eyes, ...the "peaceful religion" frothing in hatred for themselves.
I the other countries are realizing that Israel is playing by their own rules now, and they don't like it one bit--especially because Israel is so superior.
It's almost a little pathetic to see how much more superior they are.
I have to actually give Obama some credit when he said that if someone was lobbing mortar rounds across the border at his kids, he'd probably respond as well- or words to that effect...
I never swayed from being a conservative - I want to attribute that to being raised by my Army officer father, but both my brother and sister went through a liberal stage. My brother recovered quickly. My sister has evolved over the last few years (when her husband opened a private practice and the taxes really hit!). I think I didn't sway because I have always been obsessive about politics, I love the history of politics in our country and how its really shaped where we are today.
My parents (now gone) were nice, sane right of center old-line Democrats until they retired and started watching crap like Phil Donahue. Then they got all squishy. My family had a long tradition of vehemently arguing politics, so it wasn't really wasn't too far over the line that when I had enough I would just start screaming at them. I don't feel bad at all about it.
I wouldn't tell anyone else to do the same but sometimes you just have to tell them how it is in no uncertain terms and too bad if they don't like. Even if it is your parents.

It was during the summer, immediately after visiting Sderot, he said something along the lines of "Israel has the right to defend itself. If someone were launching rockets at my two daughters, I would do everything within my power to see that it was stopped"

good for you, as to those who would scream at me for saying libertarian, I'm not that crazy. Hell I am a federal department of defense employee lol.
Just think theres a lot of wasteful spending, borrowing and taxing that doesn't need to exist.
True to form, CNN interviews Israeli spokesperson before turning to Arab/Palestinian for propaganda that cannot be challenged.
Blitzer now interviewing Queen Noor of Jordan who claims Israel is still occupying Gaza.
Israel still controls electricity, gas, etc.
Great...let the Palestinians build their own systems.
Blitzer points out that Egypt also treats them badly. Noor refuses to address that.
There may indeed be race riots. It only takes one side to riot. A lot of the so-called peace movement display a willingness to use force to get what they want. It was very early in the Afghan war that moonbats were photographed with a banner that said they'd support the troops when they shoot their officers. I think that was one of yours, as a matter of fact.
In any event, these people weren't in any way advocating "peace". They were advocating mutiney.
Funny how that works...IMHO, there'd be a hell of a more conservatives if American wage earners had to write a big check each quarter instead of the mandatory withholding of taxes...
03:44 UN General Assembly president: IDF Gaza ground operation is a `monstrosity` (Reuters)
Another anti-Semite is heard from!
They expect the IDF to adhere to the high professional standards of UN Peacekeeping missions by standing by while people are murdered and then concentrating their energies on rape and pederasty.
WASHINGTON (AFP) — As the clock ticks down to Barack Obama's inauguration, the US president-elect has kept silent on the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its latest deadly turn in the Gaza Strip.
Obama transition officials have ventured little more than saying their boss is "monitoring" the situation in Gaza, where at least 460 people have been killed in eight days of air raids before a ground offensive began Saturday.
In the same period, Gaza militant rockets have killed four Israelis and wounded several dozen people.
"The president-elect is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza," his national security spokeswoman Brooke Anderson said in a statement after the ground assault got underway.
But she offered no further comment on the violence in Gaza and used a phrase repeated often by Obama and his aides: "There is one president at a time and we intend to respect that."
Senior advisor David Axelrod said Sunday that Obama is "committed" to achieving peace in the Middle East, in the only extended comments from the president-elect's team so far.
If Barry agreed with GWB on support for Israel he would say so.
Good thing Israel is taking care of this before the Messiah occupies the WH.
This is how we separate the wheat from the chaff. The leftists and the Islamists can't help themselves from lapsing into violence. They'll do it over cartoons, or books, military operations. The result is the same. The more this scenario plays out the better for the good guys.
Actually, my Dad is indeed a Korean War vet. He fought in North Korea.
And despite that, half a century later, he has basically defected to the other side.
My dad was in North Korea also...spent 6 of 9 months doing K.P. for being such a P.O.S., then he finally got his shtuff together and spent 3 months above the 38th parallel... took 3 months to get 150 miles in...3 days to get kicked out when China came knocking.
Seriously, people can get nightmares from merely watching these videos.
It's like the 3rd Reich is back in Maximum Jihad, only this time it's everywhere in the West, wrapped up in ugly Kaffiyahs and repulsive colored flags inscribed with language that resembles a sandbox of scrambled poisonous snakes from the depths of hell. Don't get me started with the actual sound of it.
The Hamas government has placed dozens of Fatah members under house arrest out of fear that they might exploit the current IDF operation to regain control of the Gaza Strip.
The move came amid reports that the Fatah leadership in the West Bank has instructed its followers to be ready to assume power over the Gaza Strip when and if Israel's military operation results in the removal of Hamas rule.
Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken.
Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets.
"Hamas is very nervous, because they feel that their end is nearing," a senior Fatah official said. "They have been waging a brutal campaign against Fatah members in the Gaza Strip."
Meanwhile, sources close to Hamas revealed over the weekend that the movement had "executed" more than 35 Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with Israel and were being held in various Hamas security installations.
Funny how that works...IMHO, there'd be a hell of a more conservatives if American wage earners had to write a big check each quarter instead of the mandatory withholding of taxes...
I agree, withholding tends to make people forget just how much money Uncle Sam takes away, because they technically never see it in the first place (oh Earnings statements and such are just numbers on a page).
A friend of mine is working on a thesis about the phenomenon that people on the "left" feel free to opine openly about their politics with the assumption that everyone around them is in total agreement, while people who are not "left" tend to keep quiet.
Which is why it is my moral obligation to speak up and set the record straight. Even if the moonbat isn't swayed , the audience will know the opinion isn't universal and quite frequently others will also agree with you and speak up. Many moonbats have been forced to retreat under such conditions.
Noor: "both sides broke the truce...Israelis went into Gaza and killed some Palestinians...Hamas fired rockets...didn't kill any Israelis."
Doesn't tell you that the Palestinians were killed because they were in the process of tunneling under the border to attack Israelis, and the fact that Israelis weren't killed during the truce was not for lack of trying on the Palestinians' part.
Frikkin' moral equivalency.
I am thinking bannable thoughts.
The UN can call for whatever they want. What are they going to do? Actually BACK UP one of their resolutions with action or force?
IMHO, the safest place to be in the world is on the wrong side of a U.N. Security Council "Resolution".
I agree there's nothing the UN can do. The only drawback is the propaganda effect that those who have faith in the UN can point to as another example of Israeli intransigence vis-a-vis "world opinion." The same world opinion that has allowed the Pali cancer to grow for six decades.
I the other countries are realizing that Israel is playing by their own rules now, and they don't like it one bit--especially because Israel is so superior.
Don't you just luv and respect the moxy that Israel has shown to stand on it's principles of what is best for themselves.
I feel such great pride for their strength and modeling to all of a strong and free democracy.
Yeah, that's something that has been bothering me since 9-11. Why are we still letting people from the Mohammedan bloc to get visas to come to America in the first place? We may not be able to deport American citizens for their religion, but no foreigner has the right to visit the United States. We don't have to let Saudi citizens come here and take flying lessons.
Not even if they do want to learn how to land the plane.
You're here on a visa and take part in an un-peaceful demonstration and get taken to jail? YOU GO HOME. You assault someone? YOU GO HOME.
While we're talking about nutty parents, my mother convinced herself that the fact things are more calm in Iraq had nothing to do with the surge--that the two were merely a coincidence. I asked her how she had come to that conclusion, and she had, of course, no reasons or facts or data to back it up--she just made it up out of her own head.
I told her that she could read the reports of people like Michael Yon online and get some actual information from people who were there in Iraq and who had seen and reported on the difference the surge had made, but she wasn't interested.
Then, of course, there's my brother, who works in mortgages, and who had experienced firsthand the efforts of ACORN to game the system, recognized the problem that subprime mortgages were for the financial system, understood that Obama was connected to ACORN for years--and voted for him anyway.
Queen Noor is spewing the Hamas line on CNN. Stupid asshole.
I met her once, not a pleasure, nothing is original equipment, when she tried to make my staff act like servants we told her security before her face where they could go and buy a soda for her.
You should have been there when my Uncle (also a frequent traveler on the Crazytown Express) asked my husband if he was happy to hear Obama would be bringing all the troops home from Iraq post haste.
yeah, family of Moonbats (ditto up here in Canada -- along with relatives in the U.S -- I won't say where they live, but i haven't spoken to them in decades on any serious matters -- just "how's the weather?" and hope it doesn't lead to some Global Warming hysteria)...those in Canada I sort of "understand", since their anti-Americanism is mixed up with their confused idea of what it means to be a patriotic Canadian...(about 2 in our family are somewhat "sensible" -- rest, forgot it.)
Funny how that works...IMHO, there'd be a hell of a more conservatives if American wage earners had to write a big check each quarter instead of the mandatory withholding of taxes...

Too bad he didn't ask if he also meant all the troops in Germany, Bahrain, Djibouti, Japan, etc...
Yeah, fine, dandy. It would be nice if Bloomberg ever went to Israel and actually spent more than one day there? Until he ran for Mayor he had NEVER been to Israel. Phony bastard.
Saddam Hussein would still be funding 'Splodeydopes and happily running people through wood chippers if the Left had had their way. Objectively, the anti-war people were pro-saddam. Some of them, like the French, were that way because they were on Saddam's payroll, but others really considered Saddam to have been the "good" guy.
At least he was the anti-American guy. That makes him good enough, to the Left.
But...but...but... It's their CULTURE to fund splodeydopes and using wood chippers and gassing kurds and honour killings, rape rooms, ad infinitum. And the Jooouice were occupying some land!
///
Wish someone would have the stones to propose this-but neither party wants the taxpayers to figure out how much they are truly paying these days...
No, people have the right information to know how much they've truly paid, but the problem is if they actually do it, half of America won't pay any taxes at all, and will end up owing back taxes. Remember how many people live from paycheck to paycheck in this country (sad).

I think the SC would NEVER have voted to enforce that resolution if that had thought President Bush was serious.
It was during the summer, immediately after visiting Sderot, he said something along the lines of "Israel has the right to defend itself. If someone were launching rockets at my two daughters, I would do everything within my power to see that it was stopped"
This is the same Uncle who said the country was more stable under Saddam. My husband (who had just gotten home after being embedded with the Iraqi Army for a year) said "wow, the Iraqis will be surprised to learn that" and walked away. He is a better man than me.
I am waiting for the anti-American intelligentsia to rediscover the socialist aspects of National Socialism and try to rehabilitate them as a German reform movement that was misunderstood by America, they'll probably make then seem like accommodationists to the Soviets to play the fantasy out.
For so many people, going out with a banner and marching and chanting is THE political process. The idea of being truly informed, voting, writing your congress critter, monitoring what is going on at the state house . . . is beyond their imagination. It just doesn't have the same feeling.
This is the same Uncle who said the country was more stable under Saddam. My husband (who had just gotten home after being embedded with the Iraqi Army for a year) said "wow, the Iraqis will be surprised to learn that" and walked away. He is a better man than me.
Heh, one could have called it a more stable place under Saddam. That is, its surprising how stable a country can be when they give anybody who doesn't agree with the dictator a really short haircut.
Actually, my Dad is indeed a Korean War vet. He fought in North Korea.
And despite that, half a century later, he has basically defected to the other side.
My dad is a WW2 Navy vet. He basically allowed my mother (who was a CPUSA member during the 40's) to do his thinking for him, but has recently "come out of the closet" as a conservative. He even voted for McCain.
He cried to see my kids come from all over to be with him on his 90th birthday.
couple of years back the moonbat kid across the street had been lecturing/debating me for some time. I made sure I was present when he got his first real paycheck and learned just where the government got its money. It made an impact.
I am waiting for the anti-American intelligentsia to rediscover the socialist aspects of National Socialism and try to rehabilitate them as a German reform movement that was misunderstood by America, they'll probably make then seem like accommodationists to the Soviets to play the fantasy out.
The Anti-American intelligentsia that denies the Holocaust probably certainly does.
Well, to be fair, the U.S. only sought that for "legitimacy". I promise you, had there been no Sec Council resolution (1440, I believe), Iraq, Afghanistan and all that followed would have still happened. The U.N. resolution merely gave Bush some leverage.
Had the U.N. actually taken part in the actions resulting from their resolution, you would have a point. However, as is their Modus Operandi, they simply resolve and resolve, but never act on their resolutions. They are like that person you know that makes New Years resolutions every year, but never actually follows through.
Eventually, you stop caring about their promise that THIS year it will be different.
My husband is learning Arabic the old fashioned way--using Rosetta Stone.
So many people can't wrap their minds around the fact that there ARE domestic enemies.
Somehow they think that if the person is American, they can't be enemies of America, but can only be "dissenters."
It's how they protectively cope with dissent behavior.
Most are just comfortably removed and complacent and some are "spooked". To some It's too surreal. Others, it's just too much hatred to accept yet. Be patient. Remember what 911 did to wake up so many who were asleep to reality. I'm afraid it will take another shock of that magnitude to move them out of complacency mode to accept that we indeed have enemies living here amongst us.
Which is why it is my moral obligation to speak up and set the record straight. Even if the moonbat isn't swayed , the audience will know the opinion isn't universal and quite frequently others will also agree with you and speak up. Many moonbats have been forced to retreat under such conditions.
Oh I agree. I do so more and more. It's very freeing. But there are times when talking about politics is unwelcome and inappropriate. Folks on the left tend to not see that line. (something to do with the fact that their leftism is their all-encompassing religion)
Heh, one could have called it a more stable place under Saddam. That is, its surprising how stable a country can be when they give anybody who doesn't agree with the dictator a really short haircut.
Kinda like the way Iran doesn't have any homosexuals?
I just got home so if this was mentioned: Geraldo Rivera is an asshole and he has Hanan Ashrawi on FOX. Now I'm disgusted. I have been defending Fox all day, but this is unconscionable. Geraldo is an ignorant pig.
Geraldo lies to get news. Watch how he treats regular people around him. He's rude, calculating, and obnoxious.

It also helped President Bush build a sort of coalition. This is the number one reason why I almost SCREAM when a moonbat claims we invaded Iraq for oil.
And of course our marxist commie press won't show how wacky and violent the pro-pali's are. San Fran must go into the ocean and take this weirdos with it SOON!
Oh, please, I just got done painting my living room.
Worse, actually. Even I am shocked at what he believes. What makes it especially bizarre is that he is a long-time veteran and once used to be quite savvy about the world. A few years ago he got a computer for the first time in his life, and now he believes every crazed lie and conspiracy theory on the Internet. He has no "internal Web nonsense filter," being too old to have developed one. By chance, he fell into the moobatopshere online, and he been plummeting into the spiraling madness ever since.
Not too long ago you would see older folks fall for every UFO and Elvis sighting printed in the National Enquirer. It's just a different venue for craziness to be disbursed. I used to dread going to my in-laws because they would have that paper highlighted and dog-eared and discuss in detail and loudly all that garbage.
I believe people THOUGHT that is what would happen with our Unicorn Jockey In Chief. I think they shall be very, very disappointed to learn that yes, Virginia, there is still a mortgage payment due each and every month.
I am waiting for the anti-American intelligentsia to rediscover the socialist aspects of National Socialism and try to rehabilitate them as a German reform movement that was misunderstood by America, they'll probably make then seem like accommodationists to the Soviets to play the fantasy out.
That already happened, between the signing of the Molotov-Von Ribbentropp pact and the invasion of Russia. The CPUSA was active in opposing American aid to the UK during that time, hoping that Hitler would cause the West to collapse and leave the path open for Soviet expansion. Only when Hitler turned his armies against Stalin did the CPUSA rediscover anti-Naziism.

The mechanism by which the UN Security Council was supposed to enforce its resolutions, dedicated armed forces assigned by treaty and a functioning military command council with a professional staff, has been a dead letter from the start. Korea was handled by a General Assembly authorized force, which is not in the Charter. Every UN action since has been an ad hoc action outside of the Charter procedure.
Norm Coleman's term as a U.S. senator ended at noon Washington time on Saturday, and by evening his hopes of winning a second term had been dealt an expected but serious setback as state officials counted previously rejected absentee ballots in St. Paul.
DFLer Al Franken held an unofficial lead of 225 votes over Coleman, according to a newspaper tally of the officials' count of the absentee ballots. Franken had led unofficially by 49 votes going into the day and gained a net 176 votes from the new ballots.
Keep counting 'til the Bonkey wins.
/I hope you weren't napping when they slipped in those extra 176 votes this morning
A good friend in Phoenix has been buying 'distressed properties'. He advises that homeowners behind in their mortgages (and not making payments) are now getting access to several programs that are allowing them to stay in their homes, at reduced payment schedules, etc...as an alternative to foreclosure. As a guy who always makes his mortgage payments, it angers him (and me) to see the arrogance of the homeowners who are 'gaming the system'.
Anecdotal to be sure, but I've no reason to doubt what he's telling me.

Yes I am predicting a new wave of anti-American revisionist scholarship that will cast Nazi Germany in a more "nuanced" and balanced light.

I just drank more more wine and tuned them out.
folks like that I like to egg on occasionally. Keep bringing up new conspiracies. Hell, make some up. Tie them together into one large conspiracy bringing Bigfoot (who was a Mason) and the Loch Ness Monster, and the Ilumunatii (who are actually space aliens bent on one world government) all meeting with Jimmy Hoffa, Jim Morrison, Elvis and Barny the Dinosaur at Area 51 to discuss methods of concealing the truth about the space programs and WTC bombings.
Might as well get some entertainment out of the evening. ;-)>

You are, of course, precisely right. The U.N. is effectively worthless. I doubt anyone that is an enemy of the U.S. or any of our allies that gives a damn about the U.N. They will hear about a resolution condemning their actions (or whatever), and probably pee themselves laughing.
Anybody got a home remedy for cleaning a laptop screen?
Damp cloth only, something low in lint, gentle little pressure to avoid scratches. Any cleaners may fog the the screen face.
Screen cleaners are available at computer places.
Wasn't she bum rushed out? Thought I read that her relationship with the son in power was quite strained. . .
From Wiki:
In the final months of King Hussein's life, Noor reportedly wanted her son Prince Hamzah to be named heir to the throne, although she disputes this in her memoir. Prince Hamzah was King Hussein's seventh child and fourth son. Abdullah, King Hussein's first son, became king and Hamzah became the heir presumptive. In 2004, however, Noor was dealt a further blow when, in a surprise move, Prince Hamzah was stripped of his title as Jordan's next in line and it is expected that King Abdullah will eventually name his own son as heir instead.[4]
Noor currently splits her time between Jordan; Washington, D.C.; and London. She continues to work on behalf of numerous international organizations and makes 70 to 100 speaking appearances annually.[5]
Ding me down all you want, but I would have kicked that stupid bitch in her fucking teeth. What was with her asking the cops "why are you letting them do that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Hell, all I saw was the human beings walking away from the assholes. Now, they can't even walk away without it being a slight to someone?

The Hamas official said that his security forces had launched a massive "preemptive" campaign aimed at thwarting Fatah's attempts to "spread anarchy and chaos." He confirmed that many Fatah operatives had been shot in the legs over the past few days by Hamas "to make sure that they don't help Israel."
If Hamas kills their own people, imagine how much these Hamas supporters hate Jews. Hamas has also killed their own people for "collaborating" with the Israelis. They shot at least 75 people in the legs and broke their hands to prevent them from "collaborating."

Ahh the poison pen. . .where she accused Israel of using posion gas. . .against "her people". . .ummm yeah
I know Maryland has a refinance program with a lower interest rate available for people in that situation BUT you have to meet income requirements and there is a cap on the amount the mortgage can be (in my county its $98k for a family of 4, I don't know what the cap is, however.) and if you sell or refinance this mortgage, you have to pay a percentage of the profit back to the state. I'd rather be the one who pays on time and therefore is able to refi right now at an equally low rate PLUS keep all the equity for me.
Today in London, thousands of demonstrators marched to protest Israel's attacks on Hamas. The demonstration was led and organized, at least in part, by a group of celebrities and fringe politicians. The celebrities included Annie Lennox, formerly of the Eurhythmics, a Jewish comedian named Alexei Sayle (wild guess--he isn't funny), and "human rights activist" Bianca Jagger, whom P. J. O'Rourke described a couple of decades ago as inhabiting the "lonely Hell of the formerly cute." That was when she was enthusing over the Communists in Nicaragua.
The celebrity press conference was yesterday. Lennox, in particular, exemplified the eternal cluelessness of those who know nothing about history:
A few days after Christmas I came downstairs, put the television on and saw smoke pyres emanating from buildings and it shook me to the core. [Ed.: Thankfully, her psyche was strong enough to withstand, without any apparent trauma, years of bombardment of Israel by rockets and mortars.] I was thinking, as a mother and as a human being, how was this going to be a solution to peace? It's a question of human rights, human values that goes beyond Jewish, Muslim, nothing to do with any of that. There has to be a place ultimately where people come to the table.
I the other countries are realizing that Israel is playing by their own rules now, and they don't like it one bit--especially because Israel is so superior.
No, Israel is playing by the usual rules, that a country has the right to defend itself. Other countries were denying that right to Israel, to allow the "Palestinians" the "right" to "defend" their "homeland".
Ali Gore's tv is heavily promoted up here...(some of it is extremely antisemitic, pro Arab, etc.)
One day, far from now though, people will realize what's going on. All that "Free Maximum Fuck Palestine thing" isn't going to cut anymore. The dots will connect. "Free Maximum Fuck Palestine" is another way to say "Death to all Juice".
Unfortunately, SF is soaked with Jihadis and leftist fascists that it will take generations (now with Berry laying the path of now and forever) until people will realize what Israel has been facing since before its existence, and really what they were shilling for and letting grow in their home.
King Abdullah is a stud! He went through our Infantry, Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces schools (among others) and was commander of Jordans Special Operations prior to assuming the mantle.
He drives his security staff nuts because of his fondness for high speed motorcycles and cars, skydiving, mountain climbing, hang gliding, rappelling, as well as piloting the militaries jets.
An awesome individual in that regard.
Their primary motivation for sending in the F-16s a week ago was to try to deal with the menace of rocket attacks fired by militants inside Hamas-controlled Gaza.
Over a hundred thousand Israeli civilians lived a Russian-roulette existence in towns and villages near Gaza knowing they faced being killed by a rocket or mortar if they left the safety of bomb-proof rooms.
But behind that simple mission statement lie a number of key questions about the timing of the attack and reliance on military force when it had been used unsuccessfully many times in the past.
When historians come to analyse the current round of Israeli-Palestinian fighting the Israeli leaders will argue they had no choice.
They will say rocket barrages from militants in Hamas-controlled Gaza were intolerable and something had to be done.
But they will have to explain why they chose the end of 2008 to attackwhen Israel has been under rocket fire on and off from Gaza since 2000 and the late 2008 rocket barrages were no more heavy or menacing than earlier barrages
yeah, family of Moonbats (ditto up here in Canada -- along with relatives in the U.S -- I won't say where they live, but i haven't spoken to them in decades on any serious matters -- just "how's the weather?" and hope it doesn't lead to some Global Warming hysteria)...those in Canada I sort of "understand", since their anti-Americanism is mixed up with their confused idea of what it means to be a patriotic Canadian...(about 2 in our family are somewhat "sensible" -- rest, forgot it.)
I have a friend in Jersey that thinks I am the anti-Christ because I told her that the science behind global warming was flawed unless it took into account solar activity.
She screamed at me calling me " A polar bear killer".
I don't know about that! I was in the sunnyvale Ford store and EVERY salesperson is Middleeastern..mostly afgannies who did not take kindly to my statement that Hamas were the criminals.

That is for the best, the polar bear population has increased to the point that they are a danger to humans far further south than ever before. There are just so many more of them than there were 30 years ago.

Thank G-d for the San Francisco cops. They are the ONLY thing keeping these screaming hate-filled freaks from beating the Israel supporters black and blue.

3rd time... my screen is icky and I don't want to go to the store. Better, idea though. Turn off computer. Go upstairs and snuggle up to the object of my affection!
Better do it quick too... before my wife gets home.

Ok here is what I don't quite understand: Israel has had other incursions, ie, Lebanon war..and i certainly do not remember this kind of vicious behavior during demonstrations...Did I just miss it?
Watching the Philistine/International ANSWER rally in NY today made me think I knew what it felt like to be in Germany in 1931 watching the Nazis rally with the police standing around. This was far more threatening than the German American Bund was.

When the RNC was in St Paul earlier this year, someone watching the anti-Republican/American protests said that they reminded him of Germany in the 1920s when the communists and fascists used to march and see who could be the most loud and violent. Now it is black shirts instead of brown shirts.

The problem is the in the US, we coddle criminals. The violent types have nothing to fear. And if the police try to maintain order, the violent ones sue.
Geraldo lies to get news. Watch how he treats regular people around him. He's rude, calculating, and obnoxious.
We were in Vegas in November and saw him in a casino - a little short guy. Wore all black, didn't smile and was too busy to acknowledge folks who said hello to him.
I would like to see the scientific evidence that the earth has definitely left behind its recurring ice ages ( Pleistocene ) otherwise I think that what we are really doing is not global warming but preventing the next Laurentide Ice Sheet.

Better than the old days, when the Sultans would have all their brothers and pregnant step-mothers put to death when they gained the throne.

Am not sure at all, but it is DIFFERENT.
heh. They don't know what to say or how to think without their robot meme to repeat.
It's pretty simple.
Did Saddam have WMD... Yes. (They'll admit that)
Okay, I'll admit we didn't find stockpiles... Were are they?
I've never had one want to answer the question they always go back to Bush lied.
The other is, the use of force resolution, how many listed reasons for the War?
They never know. (23)
How many concerned WMD ? (2)
He's a life long democrat. Other than that, he is pretty much an unknown. Gov. Bill Ritter, who campaigned as a centrist -- then moved sharply to the pro-union left after the election, is not to be trusted. I suspect this guy is a big government nanny state pro-union bureaucrat. but who knows.
folks like that I like to egg on occasionally.
Might as well get some entertainment out of the evening. ;-)>
I'm still trying to figure it out. I met him and King Hussein back in '85 and talked quite a bit with Abdullah. He seemed thoroughly westernized and hell bent on Westernizing Jordan totally. He ~may~ have been blowing smoke, but why BS an Army SFC that has no national input? He may have other realities by this time.
Zombie, be careful you don't give any more personal information about yourself so that you can be identified.
I know you're careful, but the North Korea thing is too specific.
Not to worry. Very few people actually know my war is a Korean War vet. He doesn't advertise it. And as for himself, he doesn't even know the right side of the blogosphere even exists.

I agree with you. My observation says that this show of
aggression is becoming more threatening and has pushed beyond the limits of verbal protesting. The Israeli consulate is the site of the protest tonight in SF.
I hope they have more police present at this protest.
LOL.
I hear mostly "There were no WMD" - over and over and over...
We should have left nice uncle Saddam alone.
(even though these same people were pissed we didn't finish the job when Colin Powell was in change)
At the same time I know plenty that don't. Maybe we see just see different people.
Could be. I've met far too many hard workers in federal employment over the decades. Could be you are associating with the different crowd and that is what you notice the most.

Damn, how did the word get out? Now we have to move the meeting again.
I watching Mike Tobin doing a live report on the Gaza border and you can hear the booming explosions in the background. It sounds like a sever thunderstorm.

I work in one of those big buildings. I see both. Interesting personal observation: with few exceptions going both ways, most of the lazy ones voted for the O, the hard working ones voted for McCain.

Considering that the ones I'm referring to are the federal workers who are supposed to be helping us CIVMARS out, the Civilian Mariners like myself who sail for Military Sealift Command on the US Navy Fleet Support Auxiliary ships...
Granted they may think they be hard workers, but we sure as hell can't tell. Hell when the Engine Department Licensed "Marine Placement Specialist" was this one gal, I could NEVER get her on the phone, and was told by older Mariners that they have caller ID.
She is saying that there were no weapons in the mosque that the IDF blew up. She called the charge that there were weapons there libel. She is an idiot and Geraldo is a bigger idiot for interviewing her.

He went to boarding school in New Hampshire IIRC, I think the pro-American ism is true but I think the anti-Semitism is also true, more so than with his father. Hussein was not an ideologue he was a survivor who had seen the King assassinated before his eyes when he was 16 in Jerusalem. Hussein had the same enemies Israel had.
He surely doesn't want the Jordyptians back in his land.
Ha. Nobody does apparently. Small wonder. They whacked the first King Abdullah. And tried to get his daddy twice (at least). I suspect his sympathies for them are contingent on their being a distance away.
They always like to ignore the fact that Saddam had WMD programs that were essentially mothballed waiting for sanctions to end so they could spin up and start cranking out the ordanance. And if Bush had backed down, sanctions would have rapidly collapsed. The whole foundation of the sanctions would have collapsed.
And places like France and Russia were waiting to ramp up their military and dual-use equipment to Iraq. They figured that Saddam would have money burning a hole in his pocket and a deep thirst for weapons. For conversational reasons, of course.
The Norko's where and are hard up for cash. The NorKo's have played with Syria, how much was for sale with the right price. Saddam could have made an attractive offer.
I would like to see the scientific evidence that the earth has definitely left behind its recurring ice ages ( Pleistocene ) otherwise I think that what we are really doing is not global warming but preventing the next Laurentide Ice Sheet.

They are stuffed in the "refugee" camps because their Arab brothers want nothing to do with them, other than as a foil against Israel.
Well my concern, after watching the above vid, is that the COPS aren't scared...and yet I think they are.
If they are, they wouldn't outwardly show it.
This is what they do. I know it pisses me off to see these
Pali ANSWER asshats play the victim stance though when they were clearly the perps of the pushing and aggression. Thank goodness for video coverage.
Thank the person who had the moxy to take this footage so all can see the hatred.
except for the employees who are a day short of pay. Not all of them are lazy bastards stealing tax dollars engaging in useless tasks.
You could still pay them and the government would still save money. A lot of business has also shifted to the internet for government. No need to keep those long hours anymore. And Governments want to be green but are afraid of letting staff telecommute. The employees that just answer and route phone calls could do that from home easily.
It IS Zombie's father, here. We shouldn't call him a moron. My mother is also a lefty taken in by each and every talking point and can't articulate WHY she is a liberal beyond those specific points. But she is my mom and I love her despite this affliction.
I don't care who it is. If you honestly believe it's better in North Korea, where millions have and are starving to death and eating the bark off of trees, than it is here, you're a MORON! I'd say the same thing if it was my Dad.
I am watching live cnn tv [Link: www.cnn.com...] a few commentators mention Israel should go back to 1967 borders. I asked why we need to give up more. No more land for peace non sense, it’s a myth. Israel keeps what it has and that’s the end of it. They want peace, they keep what they have.

Never dealt with them. Hell, never even heard of that agency. Sorry, no offense.
Not trying to imply there are no lazy ones. Government employees run to form like all employees-good ones, bad ones.
I don't like generalizations when folks say all government employees are lazy. I hate when people want the budget balanced by whacking government employees and agencies as a blanket statement without considering who those employees are and what jobs they do or what the mission of the agency is.

That's the problem with the blogosphere. As much as I hail the dawn of "new media" and responsible "citizen-journalism", unless I point people to the right sites -- the one's with proper citations and references and reliable sources -- they can inevitably find evidence of every conspiracy they can imagine.
I've tried to steer liberal Jews to Instapundit, hoping they'd get a tiny first-step introduction to the alternate media (i.e. non-MSM). So far, not one person has indicated they would do this or have done this. Several have told me that they already read stuff on the internet (so they don't have to learn anything else), and when I asked them what they looked at, they said "Huffington."
Really, I no respect for 99.9% of the so-called educated people I know. Not one of them have given me any slack re my finding new sources of information on the web. I often get a lecture, however, about how I can't trust information on the web and how I should be sure and read "both sides."

I work for USTRANSCOM. I wish I could say we make your life easier, but don't want to lie to you.
My wife, not at TRANSCOM has some young AF LTs that work for her. At Thanksgiving half of them refused to answer their phone when there was a phone check in anticipation of a potential recall (India bombing.) They said they were on leave and should not have to.
My wife and I got out of the military in 1990. It has changed a lot, not for the better.
Geraldo is an idiot who badly needs an education before he spreads the idiocy even farther.
It’s also worth looking at the doctrine of distinction, which Israel follows while Hamas does not.
Distinction, according to the Law of Armed Conflict, “means discriminating between lawful combatant targets and noncombatant targets such as civilians, civilian property, POWs, and wounded personnel who are out of combat. The central idea of distinction is to only engage valid military targets. An indiscriminate attack is one that strikes military objectives and civilians or civilian objects without distinction. Distinction requires defenders to separate military objects from civilian objects to the maximum extent feasible. Therefore, it would be inappropriate to locate a hospital or POW camp next to an ammunition factory.”
Hamas violates this doctrine in two ways at once. Its fighters launch Qassam, Katyusha, and Grad rockets into Israeli civilian areas, and they fire those rockets from inside Palestinian civilian areas. Both are prohibited by the Law of Armed Conflict.
The law does not, however, prohibit Israel from striking legitimate military targets in civilian areas. “Although civilians may not be made the object of a direct attack, the LOAC recognizes that a military target need not be spared because its destruction may cause collateral damage that results in the unintended death or injury to civilians or damage to their property.”
...My personal, and I know the group's, thanks must go to Al Jazeera, that allowed three of their reporters to be onboard with us on our voyage. As a result, Al Jazeera carried the story of the Dignity live, from castoff in Cyprus when our spirits were high, right up through the manacing maneuvers of the huge, super fast Israeli ships before they rammed us, the Israeli calls on the ship phone after the ramming calling us terrorists and subversives and telling us to return to Cyprus (even though the Israelis later claimed that they didn't know who we were, they knew enough about us to tell us where we had come from), and the fact that we didn't have enough fuel to follow their instructions, right up to their threat to fire at us if we didn't turn around, ending with our beaten-up boat limping into Sour harbor in Lebanon. Al Jazeera carried our story as "breaking news" and performed a real service to its audience and to us. Al Jazeera called the Israelis to inquire about the incident right as it was happening and I am sure the Israelis were prepared to leave none to tell the story. Al Jazeera told the story and documented it as it was happening.
One of those Al Jazeera reporters with us was Sami El-Haj, who was detained in Guantanamo by the United States for six incredibly long years. What an honor to even exchange glances with such a humble man who had endured so much pain at the hands of the U.S. government. I apologized to him that my tax dollars were being used in such a despicable way. And Sami's crime according to the U.S.? Born in Sudan, and reporting for Al Jazeera in Afghanistan, Sami was the wrong color, the wrong nationality, the wrong religion, reporting for the wrong news outfit, telling us the truth about a wrong war. And for that he survived incarceration for six long years. Sami El-Haj, Guantanamo prisoner number 345.
Another incredibly committed journalist who was with us was CNN's Karl Penhaul. Karl reported the truth even when his own station was repeating Israeli disinformation. The fact that we were traveling with these alert journalists added to the flat-footedness and obvious crudeness of the Israeli response. Sadly, Israel has changed its story too many times to count, and that's because they are not telling the truth.

Yeah. My wife has to do that Internet thing using a program that uses Oracle as a platform. It can take up to SIX FREAKING hours to run one update to the figures. She has to do this at home because of cutbacks that reduced staff by a couple of people but NOT the workload. Great idea.
If anyone ever wonders why I spend so much time on LGF and why I upding so much, it's because I'm starved for adult conversation with people who actually think about things and have some practical experience in various fields.

On the subject of your post, I remember how the very next morning after McCain picked Palin, the locals here who get their news - their whole sum total of thought really - from NPR and Pacifica Radio, were tut-tutting to each other in hushed, outraged and shocked tones, about what an idiot Palin was, about whom they had known little or nothing the day or at most week before.
These people are the deepest idiots, out of laziness willing to let others fill their brain with whatever.
Mindboggling. Had she been born in any other country the most she could achieve would be side show circus work. In this country she got all the way to Congress, yet she spits on our faces.
Ms. McKinney, on behalf of many of us, stay your butt in Lebanon with your new terrorist buddy Sami. Perhaps Al Jazeera will give you a Show: Circus Time with Cynthia McKinney.
Its not like the people in those big federal buildings do any work on Fridays anyway...
I worked in government a long time. A large percentage of the workload is fluff work. Actual work for the people can be done in four days or less, especially with the internet. Emergency services excepted. Look at the hours Judges keep. Anyone sneezes they will call it a day and go home early. Modern Government is essentially an over complication of society that provides employment and over regulation of the rest of the country. Example would be any Federal government institutions and it's volumes of manuals and it's inability to react to an individual.
ANSWER signs are uniform at every protest. The creeps in scarves may be from the group Al-Awda or they could just be Berkeley or SF State University students with time to kill.

Fluff work is used in maintaining the bureaucracy.
The Obama's got a special diversity scholarship. Not enough children of Presidents attending, so they have to do some affirmative action. Remember Michelle's interview of how they were financially strapped with all those student loans they were paying. Well the "friends" must have heard about it and made some accommodations for the poor stressed out family.

A lot of government workload is middle managers holding onto reports they think they need but don't. And Oracle... don't let them in the door. Easy entry fees, then huge licensing costs and they have their hooks in you and there is no way you can get away from them anymore.
American Muslims are finding it more difficult to donate money to help Palestinian refugees and other Middle Eastern causes because of court decisions showing that some charities were using the money for terrorism.
Yeah, there's really no predicting how the Norks are going to jump. It is pretty much the most insane government on the planet (edging out Robert Mugabe), and the only thing they have to export is military hardware. Fortunately, their nuke program pretty much went tits up even though L'il Kim suckered Jimmy Carter and the Clinton Administration on it for years.
And with several thousand artillery tubes pointed at Seoul, doing anything at becomes problematic.
No why we should go back to 1975 borders. Enough is enough of this non sense.
It would go forward... West Bank back entirely, about half of Sinai, and the Golan as a buffer (going off memory here, if not, go to the 1972 borders, all of all of them.

Have just checked the JPost, Ha'aretz, YNet, IsreallyCool, Mugata, etc.
Is there anything that I probably don't know regarding the ground ops?

Tell government IT folks that despise MS. They really HAD to buy Oracle. Remember the government was too busy suing MS.
For anyones personal edification? Oracle sucks and if it wasn't for the government? They would be gone.
A few years ago, my boys attended a SF Convention where actually one of the "guests of honor" sole claim to fame was an episode where he wore the infamous 'red shirt' and was BEM food before the first commercial break.

Remember Michelle's interview of how they were financially strapped with all those student loans they were paying. Well the "friends" must have heard about it and made some accommodations for the poor stressed out family.
WAB also said the only thing she could buy with the $600.00 stimulus check was a pair of earrings.

Oh, if you found out someone was a dead red shirt, you'd just HAVE to buy them a beer.
My husband will only talk about movies and his colleagues
I pretty much made my own bed. I won't talk politics in real life. Very few people I know can talk books, movies, music, guns. That is why I am on forums. I don't really mind that much but at times it does seem sad.
Yep on CNN the reporter made a reference to this *turning into a Lebanon-like situation*.
I think Hamas would LIKE to see that, but I think Israel has learned a few lessons and are letting the IDF do its job.
Charlie X, the kid who could alter reality with his mind, erased the face off a femal crew member and left her to die
There's also Tasha Yar from TNG season 1. I'd understand if you avoided watching any season 1 eps (the show was best seasons 3-6) but Yar's heroic death was referred back to on several occasions.
(Female crew, and captains, of other ships got toasted quite regularly but they don't count.)
Yeah, I think you're right; in the future, even "progressive" captains try not to put their female crew in harm's way.
Must be a regional thing, most all the 9-11 year old girls around here in Maryland have grown up party dresses like that, some even with heels and makeup for a big dress up event.
I know a guy who hs been to North Korea a few times in the last few years (with US State Dept. approval). I would prefer living on any US garbage heap to that. I'd sure eat better...
As I have been sitting here playing on the internet, my husband has been tearing my kitchen apart. It has now reached maximum disaster status with floors ripped out and other stuff all over the place. I have a dishwasher in my livingroom, as well as cartons of flooring, a hutch and the new kitchen cabinets. He just announced he has done as much damage as is possible for the day, so I am going to head to bed!

yeah, family of Moonbats (ditto up here in Canada -- along with relatives in the U.S -- I won't say where they live, but i haven't spoken to them in decades on any serious matters -- just "how's the weather?" and hope it doesn't lead to some Global Warming hysteria)...those in Canada I sort of "understand", since their anti-Americanism is mixed up with their confused idea of what it means to be a patriotic Canadian...(about 2 in our family are somewhat "sensible" -- rest, forgot it.)
Interesting what you said about Canadians' nationalism being intertwined with their anti-Americanism. I think a lot of Jews' religion is mixed up with their support of FDR in the depression and WW2, which carried over into their current nutty support of the Democrat party.
Imagine the horror when they order prosciutto and all the restaurant has is "ham"!
This sort of forced-foodie-ism also deprives the students of the basic pleasure of growing up as American Kids. I mean, don't we all have fond memories of chowing down on burgers, pizza, mac-n-cheese, etc at the cafeteria?

That reminds me of Galaxy Quest. Great movie.
I won a trip from a DS9 contest. We didn't get on the set; they were filming, but we had lunch with Armin Shimmerman (Quark) and Rene Aberjonois (sp? Odo). And we got to see Terry Farrell (Jadziya Dax). She looks even skinnier in person.
Anyway, they were filming the episode in which the Jem Hadar gave some rebel planet a disease where they had spots; when the spots turned red, they died. One extra, waiting outside, said "I died two days ago, but they had me back in case they needed me again.)

Galaxy Quest is indeed great and great fun. Too bad they left no real opening for a sequel.

Well, your theory would not apply to Jews who are younger than 80. Those of us who were raised as "red diaper babies" have either become so assimilated that they don't give a shit about being Jewish, or (like myself) backlashed into conservative Republicans.
Also: religious Jews, who also tend to be politically conservative, have a much higher birthrate than our leftist, secular brethren.
Then it must be "The Lights of Zetar", in which we learn of Memory Alpha, whose name was take by the Star Trek Wiki.
And I'm not going there to verify.
Beam me up Scotty, there's not enough intelligent life here.
Didn't FDR refuse to let a ship load of Jewish refugees dock in the United States? It's kind of like the black vote going to the Democrats. The Republicans freed the slaves, ended seggrigation and passed the Civil Rights bills, while the Donks were the party of the Ku Klux Klan and Orville Faubus and Bull Conner. So naturally 90+% of blacks vote for the Democrats.
I don't get it, don't think I ever will get it. I've pretty much stopped trying.

The guy who made the decision to turn them away was a State dept under secretary by the name of Beckenridge Long. (may his name be blotted out). He was also the recipient of the Wansee Protocol documents and buried them as forgeries.
Put it in a warm to hottish bath of water for a few minutes and see if it doesn't softened it up enough to use.
Nah, I can see it in the bottle. Its got a funnel tip and the glue has hardened in the tip. Get to try digging it out. If I break too much of the tip, it becomes worthless since the glue goes everywhere then. Its a type of modeling superglue, bonds in seconds deal, so I'll be getting to scrape it off my fingers for the rest of the night eiter way.
It could be worse. I've seen teenage girls out and about in outfits that'd make a stripper blush.
I'm about as socially liberal is you can get, but I've been left behind on some issues. Girls are getting there legs waxed to keep up with her friends as preteens and the fashion industry is pushing teen clothing for 8-12 year olds.
I'm sure they wouldn't have. Most of the UN didn't really see Saddam as a problem, and he was a good source of bribe money. If Bush had backed down, Iraq would be fielding terrorists armed with poison gas by now. Or maybe biologicals. Iraq had a bioweapons program that was looking into, among other lovely things, Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever. Coincidentally, there was an outbreak of that shit in Afghanistan shortly after we started bombing them.
It is an interesting coincidence.
Interesting. I hadn't read about the Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever before.
Re my earlier posts, I have not yet been able to convince a single liberal that Saddam was working on WMD. They only know what they learn from the NYTimes and NPR. To them, there is NO OTHER reality.
Good thing Bush is still in office. I think Israel chose now to attack before the 0 replaced him.
I was thinking that a while back, they have limited time to do what must be done. I wonder with O in Office and his islamic support, if Israel will even recognize the US as anything worthy to work with.
Police in Illinois say actor and playwright Sam Shepard has been arrested on preliminary charges of speeding and drunken driving.
This sleazebag used to live around here. Back in 1990 or 1991 he was drunk in a bar and was groping all the women in the bar including a friend of mine. We saw him a week later in another bar. He apologized to my friend for the other night then invited her to spend a week in NYC with him while he did a Broadway play.
Most of that happened before I was born. I don't think that I've overly dwelt on African-American issues in my studies, but those are just the high points that I've noticed. The Democrat Solid South was also the Jim Crow segregationist South. When one ended, so did the other.
I'm not saying that every democrat is a closet Klansman. After all, the Democrats boast Robert Byrd as their "Conscience of the Senate". He's never been closeted about his involvement with the KKK.
They STILL have Jews and African-Americans snowed.
I saw something in the headlines the other day. Something to do with ash. It hasn't effected me in any way, so I've kind of ignored it. If it were the reactor at Y-12 I'd have noticed it by now :-)

A 50 ft pile of ash fell over onto several houses. Right now, arsenic tests at the pile have been "above standards", which most background samples in America are. But all samples in local wells and such are acceptable.
But there is a lot of nasty ash to dig up and move.
The sun is going to rise in Israel soon and I have got to close my eyes and get some rest. May the IDF soldiers stay fierce, strong, and courageous.
Good Nite Lizards.

He's an actor, an artist, so he's entitled, doncha know.
btw - don't you think he'd have made enough money by now to get those teeth fixed?
I don't have kids, so its not been that big a deal to me, but some things just jump out at you. A ten year old little girl has no business wearing a pair of short-shorts with "Juicy" written across the ass. I really don't know what some of these parents are thinking. If they are thinking at all.
Kids have been known to change into clothes their parents don't know they own.
They're not thinking. And they'll expect the taxpayer to pay for either the abortion or to keep their little darling well supplied with everything she needs to raise her 5 illegitimate kids.
I'm going to try and articulate my feelings on the current Gaza situation without being called a Nazi and being banned. When Israel considered pulling out of Gaza there was much debate here. My position was:
My feelings were to pull out, give the Palestinians their state and then hold them accountable for the actions of their citizens. When attacks on Israel continue, and they will, bomb the hell out of them and repeat as necessary. I also believed that bringing Israelis inside the wall was just common sense. After reading articles like Professor Arieh Eldad's I changed my mind. Israel is being pressured to do this by the US and the EU. It is a capitulation of the principle that terrorism not be rewarded. Hamas will gain control of Gaza and it will become a major terrorist base with access to the sea.
Well predictably it did become a major terrorist platform with thousands of rocket bombs launched toward Israeli civilians, twice sometimes three times a day. The fact that few of these rockets actually kill anybody seems to be the basis for leftists acceptance that these attacks are no big deal. Let me shoot pot shots at your familly you dumb fucks and we'll see how dedicated you are to this position.

My daughter is 17 and I still will not allow her to wear short-shorts with "juicy" written across the ass. Or anything with anything written across the ass. It's trashy and distasteful . . . and I hope and pray when she turns 18, she'll be past wanting anything written across her ass. Yech.
"The ground offensive is likely to increase casualties on both sides, with Israel running the risk of finding itself in a quagmire with no easy exit strategy..."
Actually I've been more worried about Hamas' exit strategy.
I'm thinking mass grave would do nicely (if they can find the parts) ...but I'd be satisfied with Tunisia.

I'm glad I have a son and don't have to deal with the issue, but he tells me some girls change into their slutty outfits away from home. Even my son was ticked off that I would not let him "hang" at the mall with his friends when he was a 12-14 years old.
I always liked the tactics of the Roman Empire in such situations...
The whole "We're being raided by tribes in that region. Kill them all and see if the raids stop" approach certainly has its merits.
I remember a story about a Roman ambassador who was meeting with the King of Crete discussing pirates. Rumors were that the pirates were paying bribes to the Cretins for safe passage thru their waters. The Romans came to ask the Cretins to help them take out the pirates. The King hemmed and hawed, saying he would need to talk to his advisors and look into it. The Roman Ambassador said take all the time they needed, but if they left the room without agreeing, to consider themselves at war with Rome.
LOL guy calling Israel *occupier*: um Mr, there is not ONE Jew in Gaza.
It's not just Gaza. Never was just Gaza.
Geraldo replayed earlier tonight an interview he had with some Pali somebody in 2002, and the guy was saying that there should be no Israel, all the Jews were from "somewhere else", and they did not belong there, the land did not "belong" to anything like a state of Israel.

Cease fire is being called for by arab nations. lolol yeah, when Israel finally has enough and strikes back they cry to put a stop to it. For such blood thirsty warriors its just so undignified to act like cry babies.

Yeh yeh y7eh, we have heard it all before and the guy interviewed was probably from Egypt or Syria. The BS never ends.
re: #934 jaunte
Hey juante! ROFL! But I meant, how deep into Gaza has the IDF penetrated? They running into those @#%*$ anti-tank mines that Iran supposedly supplied Hamas with, after seeing how well they worked for Hezbollah in'06?
Palestinian ambassador babbling about how the UN has to stop the Israeli onslaught, return to negotiations, establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
This is why there is no peace. They are not willing to compromise on anything. They have spent 100 years killing Jews, starting wars, committing terrorism, and periodically getting their a$$es handed to them, but they think they still have a right to everything they want without giving anything in return.
Tomorrow, the hamas supports plan on protesting at the Holocaust memorial in Miami Beach tomorrow. I plan on being there with several hundred other Jews, Christians and anyone else who knows that the pals in Gaza have no one to blame but themselves.

speakin of football, our 'bet" still on?
Michael Vick gets sent from Levenworth to a half way house on January 20th (geee ,,, thats odd,,, what else happens that day !?!?!?) 6 months there (Jume 20th) and he is a FREE MAN. just in time for someones training camp !
CNN has the most biased coverage on Israel right now. I don't watch CNN but I was changing the channels and the anchor, Don Lemon, is absolutely biased against Israel. He has the most pro-Hamas guests on and he's groveling and nodding his head in agreement with what they're saying. It's like I'm watching Al-Jizeera. I've called CNN and left a message and e-mailed them. It won't help but at least they'll know that some of us are pissed off at their coverage.
The pro-"Palestinian" demonstrators are scary indeed. It's not surprising since they support terrorism and are filled with hate. I find it ironic that the Muslim woman with an accent screamed to pro-Isarel demonstrators about "stealing land." Excuse me? What is she doing in this country then? The Arabs (wrongly) accuse the Jews of stealing land but then immigrate and occupy other's people's land all over the world. As someone with Native American heritage I find it amusing.
Not successfully, that I know of, I should add.
(Jenin was in 2003, when the IDF went in to clean out a major center of terrorism. The Palestinians claimed it was a "massacre" to the international media--but only 50 or so Palestinians were killed, almost all combatants. And by the way--no quagmire. Jenin got a lot quieter after that.)

Yes, our bet is still on - I don't care when Vick is released (although I think he should do 5 year min. hard time) no NFL team will touch him. No matter how hard up they are for a QB.
Oh, I often went down the main road where hookers plied their trade when I was 16-17. It's kind of hard not to notice the girls in the short skirts and thigh-high boots standing around just kind of hanging out. The cops would go through about twice a year and arrest everybody, but they were back at work after a few days of rest.
I was just kidding with you.
But yes, those ladies are hard to miss.
re: #960 Haiku
"CNN has the most biased coverage on Israel right now"
What do you mean "right now" - they and the Beeb, and AFP have been practically cheerleading for the "Palestinians" forever.
Yes, our bet is still on - I don't care when Vick is released (although I think he should do 5 year min. hard time) no NFL team will touch him. No matter how hard up they are for a QB.
UNITED NATIONS - THE UN Security Council ended its meeting late on Saturday without reaching an agreement on a statement on the situation in the Gaza Strip, the French ambassador said.
The ambassador, Mr Jean-Maurice Ripert who presides in the council this month, said members of the body could not agree on a statement that would call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Heh. The UN is good at getting nothing accomplished.
I look for all the Far Lefty/Indymedia/Anarchists/Workers Party Radicals to all take up the cause for the Palis 24-7 now. Heck, even Code Pinko will be marching for them soon.
I never listen to MSM news, but allowed myself to listen to some of the Gaza coverage on CNN...So far we have had the Libyan ambassador to the UN, the US deputy ambassador to the UN, the palestinian ambassador(?) to the UN, one IDF spokeswoman, some [bigoted word] in NC and her daddy in Gaza. Totally slanted against Israel. How does ANY lizard listen to this crap and not go insane?
re: #964 Noam Sayin'
TWO? Uh, Noam, did ya ever meet either of 'em before and do you know their names and phone numbers (I keep hearing this refrain of "hair of the dog" over and over!)?!
A few minutes ago the CNN anchor, talking with that Palestinian immigrant in a hijab, says, but you can't just stop the fighting now, you have to address the whole situation (and I'm expecting him to say, you have to get Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel). But no, he says, you have to end the occupation.
WHAT OCCUPATION?
MEMO TO CNN: Occupation of Gaza ended 2005. Report accurately.
Embargo and blockade are not occupation. They are response to Hamas rejectionism and state of war.
re: #965 sattv4u2
Israel's been on double secret probation since 1948.
Seriously, I don't give a rat's ass what the effin' UN says, Israel should do what's best for Israel in Israel's sole judgment here.
There is ABSOLUTELY no justification for Hamas to keep chucking rockets and mortars into Israel. Period.
GO IDF!
Damn! And they aren't cheap, either. What in the hell would possess someone that they would buy these for a little kid? That's just wrong on so many levels.
If it makes you feel any better, I regularly talk to a guy who sells children shoes nationwide, and he says Knoxville is his most conservative customer base. His words: "You guys still want little girls to be little girls." I've seen the "Juicy" shorts too, but overall, we're not that bad.
re: #970 jaunte
Well I hope not! Still and all I'd expect CNN or AFP to have announced that the IDF has "barely made it to the Egyptian border" or somesuch.
I've met them before. They're in a social networking group with which I'm loosely affiliated.
And by social networking group, I mean a group dedicated to hanging out together and getting ripped on a regular basis. Most in the group are under 30. For some reason, they hold your ol' pal, Noam in high regard.
I'm pretty sure it's because I don't hang out with them that much.
Many of these idiots simply want something, anything, to protest - it gives their miserable lives purpose. The rest are truly insane.
A long time ago I knew a young guy, American born, with an Americanized last name. He was ex-army, married, attending college--the husband half of a couple.
As I got to know them, slowly, this young man's ferocious hatred of Israel became apparent. Once manifest, it was never far from the surface and no conversation continued longer than 20 minutes without some denunciation.
He was apparently of Middle Eastern extraction. He read and believed the worst.
The friendship lapsed and was never resumed, but before that time his wife told me privately that his father was a violent, abusive guy. Hate, hate, hate and dehumanizing violence are a terrible heritage, and now it is deforming the lives of all now living.

Hey Hoops - I really feel for you my friend. As I mentioned, the Colts at 12-4 shoulda whipped the ass over the 8-8 Chargers. Didn't see the game, though - were the Chargers THAT good or did the Colts screw up?
I think I must've seen the same thing you did. I watched one female anchor hand off to a male anchor, and the way they were smiling at each other, it looked like they were hooking up later. They used terms like "exit strategy" and "humanitarian crisis" like it was Brittney Spears and Madonna. It was very obvious they had little understanding of what they were covering.
And there was "Palestinian Legislator" complaining about how evil Israel was. I am no longer surprised. Can you imagine how tough it was in the 7th centruy when this kind of stuff started?

Nope, he's been suspended indefinitely (and still under suspension) by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who, if you didn't already know, is married to Fox New Channel's Jane Skinner. She is the daughter of Bush 41's Transportation Secretary and Chief of Staff Sam Skinner.

Hell the UN Security Council has a hard time on whether or not to even send a strongly worded letter!
As I said, screw the UN and let Israel do whatever Israel has to do to keep it's citizens and residents safe from Rocket/Mortar attacks or any other kind of attacks by the "Palestinians".

CNN is a horror today. I stopped paying attention the second time they broadcast Hamas' propaganda threats to turn Gaza into a "graveyard" for Israel (Note to Hamas: As if. That's all I'm saying: As if). Repeated airing of terrorist propaganda like that makes you dog crap in my judgment.
I don't know that that is comforting. You really have to wonder where the adult supervision is. A kid's too young to buy a pistol or drink a beer, but it's OK if they have an abortion or a kid?
In many states, you don't need parental permission or notification to get an abortion. Oregon is one of them, of course.
Of course, they still can't get a tattoo without permission. /They might, you know, regret it later.

Thats all well and good, but after he serves his time at both Levenworth and the half way house, and after he has his meeting with Goodell where he shows contrition (which he already has) he will be re-instated. The only reason why he hasn;'t already is that he is still incarcerated.

You're right. I haven't watched CNN in years and knew it was biased but was surprised that they were so blatant about it. I could just imagine what the coverage on MSNBC is like. Even Fox is getting biased toward Israel.
I just heard that 30 Israeli soldiers were hurt, two critically. I pray for them and the people of Israel. There's a lot of support for Israel around the world but we aren't a bunch of loud violent thugs so we get ignored by the media.
Thats all well and good, but after he serves his time at both Levenworth and the half way house, and after he has his meeting with Goodell where he shows contrition (which he already has) he will be re-instated. The only reason why he hasn;'t already is that he is still incarcerated.
Wanna bet? NO WAY the NFL will take that kind of bad publicity hit.
re: #991 jaunte Well 30 Hamas dead vs 28 Israeli wounded isn't terrible, though it's a higher ratio than I originally expected.
But I did find this somewhat disturbing in your link:
Six rockets were fired on open areas in the Sederot and Eshkol regions since the ground troops crossed into Gaza around 7 p.m. Saturday, and an uncertain quiet permeated highly populated southern city.
One of the bass players I worked with when I was playing guitar had his crazy wife pull a carpet-cutting knife on him out of the blue right in front of all of us. He took it in stride, just disarmed her and calmed her down. I'd have been looking for a divorce lawyer if I'd been him.
Well, but he was a bass player, so he didn't need all those fingers.

that ,,, and they were right in the middle of re-doing their rugs!
We were talking earlier about how Syria destroyed the city of Hama and killed off tens of thousands of people to squash a rebellion from the Muslim Brotherhood in 1982. CNN would have yawned at that. Arabs killing Arabs is not newsworthy.

In fact, I would bet that CNN has not covered the story of Hamas shooting out the kneecaps of other Muslims in Gaza, have they?

And what team would take that chance on signing that scumbag and all the negative PR that would follow him wherever he goes? It's not worth it. Vick is radioactive here. His only chance is Canada.
Some of those ignorant anti Israel blah blah blahs reminded me of Rachel Corrie. Can someone please pass the maple syrup, I'm hoping for some pancakes.
If it makes you feel any better, I regularly talk to a guy who sells children shoes nationwide, and he says Knoxville is his most conservative customer base. His words: "You guys still want little girls to be little girls." I've seen the "Juicy" shorts too, but overall, we're not that bad.
I was in line at a store the other day, behind a young woman who was wearing sweatpants with "Sexy" written across her tuchis. She was with her son, who was about four. I was thinking, hon, when you have a child with you who's nearly old enough to read your butt, it is time to retire those...
Under 18 here can't get a tattoo unless it is a coverup job, and even then only with permission from their parents. Of course, the parents could be nuts. Where I go for my tattoos we had a couple bring in their 12 year old daughter to get her navel pierced. The kid didn't want it, and was clearly terrified. The shop owner refused to do it, but they probably found someone to do it for them.
That is so sad. That poor child. I wouldn't let my daughter get her ears pierced until she was twelve because I wanted to be certain it was her choice.

I'm not advocating it, I'm just stating facts. Here's why
The Falcons still own his rights. Arthur Blank (their owner) still has a soft spot for Vick (google the Atlanta Journal Constitution) Blank has Goodells ear and will lobby for Vick to be re0instated. The Falcons will take a minimal offer (late round draft pick) for his rights.
I remember quoting Buffy during the break-up with the crazy dude: "If you finish that sentence, I'm going to have to break your arm."
I've talked guys out of shooting me. I've done a lot of things. Knives always worry me, on the Lord Peter principle: A bullet can go anywhere, but steel has to go somewhere.
re: #1031 HoosierHoops
LOL! Well look at it this way Hoops - it's a good reason to get bombed again - and so quickly after New Years Eve, to boot!
But I still wonder if the Chargers are that good or were the Colts just overconfident? Or did the ref's help out the Chargers?

Last year I was working at a school where all the kids were getting tattooed like crazy. Worse, they kept falling in love, and getting each others' names tattooed on them, and then...you can see where this is going.
I asked one of them where he was getting his work done, and he told me that his cousin Jose had a set of equipment and worked out of his garage.
re: #1033 jcm
Yep, maybe the best idea McCain put forth, albeit too briefly, was the formation of a League of Democracies in lieu of the effin' UN.
I'd like to see that. Course I'd like to see the US out of the UN (which will bankrupt the UN) and the UN out of the US.
But I'm afeared Obama doesn't share my sentiments on that issue.
I would have loved to have heard a response from these Hamas lovin protestors the answer to the following question:
What do you think of the fact that Hamass stores weapons in holy Mosques throughout Gaza?
They'd say Hams is justified in doing whatever it needs to do to "resist occupation". In their lack of thinking (I can't call it way of thinking) the underdog (aka the resistors) can do no wrong while the big dog can do no right.
I didn't have a horse in that race. But the Chargers shouldn't have needed OT. Two turnovers in the end zone in 2nd half and an Indy TD when the Chargers D completely went to sleep. You usually don't win a close game when all that happens. Indy can't complain about the officiating. They had enough breaks to win.

No, the 0 wants to kiss the UN's ass. Of course, the UN is all asshole, except for a few people from the US and Israel.
I read your comment three times. I'm having trouble processing this. Parents forcing a child to mutilate herself?!
I'm having a problem with this.
My mom tried for years to get me to pierce an ear. She actually took me to a place as a graduation suprise. I had to tell her time and again, thanks but no thanks.
I said Vick will be on an NFL roster opening day, Real says he won't even be in a camp
and barring a dibilitating injury during training camp, he WILL. It's just a matter of formalities now.

6 months at a hal way house
while there, meet with Goodell, who re-instates him

Two anti-Jewish acts in Paris have been linked to Israel’s operation in Gaza. The crimes were reported by the Bureau of Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism, as pro-Palestinian rallies were held across France.
The bureau said in a statement that a rabbi’s car was vandalized, and anti-Jewish graffiti was drawn on the wall of a shopping center, in response to the Israeli raid in Gaza.
“Through their gesture, the anti-Semitic authors wanted to avenge the Palestinians,” said the statement.

Thank God I'm back in Catholic education.
I'm bluing my nic; please email me and let me know where you're working, if it's in San Francisco.
You should be having a problem with it. It's child abuse.
One of mine and my children's happiest memories was last summer when I took them into the doctor for a checkup. Two middle boys. I assured them, multiple times, that they would not get a shot.
At the end of the appointment, the doctor said, "by the way, we're screening for tetanus boosters." Turns to me. "When was the last time you had a tetanus booster?"
Oh, they thought it was funny. So did I. We all laughed for the rest of the day, except the little winces I gave because my arm was sore.
Point of the story? They want something pierced? They have two whole bodies of their own.

After the Colts loss..Football is dead to me this year :)

Crap, I'll take that bet. And I'll tell you why it will not happen the way you think it will. If, and this is a big IF, if he is paroled, and Vick has to go to a half-way house, he'll be treated and have to abide by the same rules as all the other people there. He has to be, since if they make an exception for him, all the others there will say "why not me?".
My family lost their shit when I got a pierced ear. They tend to show disapproval at anything I do. Who knows what they'd think if they found out I got my navel pierced.
Same with the tatts.
Now, half the family has tattoos, memorializing my brother.
My mom tried for years to get me to pierce an ear. She actually took me to a place as a graduation suprise. I had to tell her time and again, thanks but no thanks.
I shared a birthday with a guy in college, and we each got one ear pierced for "our" birthday.
To say that I don't react well to piercings is putting it mildly, so, though at one point I had a pierced ear, I don't any more. And when a certain boyfriend (ages and ages ago) wanted me to get certain bits of my anatomy pierced, I returned an emphatic "No!".
All a gun does (pistol, at least) is give you range. If they are close enough, I'd rather have to face a gun than a knife. With a knife, you are going to get cut unless you are very, very good and a little lucky.

He's been doing that since he's been in Leavenworth, which has a lot more stringent rules than a halfway house has. he's ALREADY done the hard part. he gets out January 20th!

Pretty much my philosophy of knives, as well.
Though my personal favorite story was the idjit who bounced out of the bushes at me and put a knife to my ribs. He said, "Give me your money or I'll cut you."
I looked at him, noted that he had the knife at the wrong angle (downwards), shook my head at him and said, "No, you won't." And kept walking. He stood there gibbering for a moment, then ran.

I'm telling you, the timing is NOT accidental
Out of prison January 20th.
He needs 6 months at the half way house (that brings us to June 20)
Let me ask you,,, when do NFL camps start !?!?!?!?!

Back in the day, when I was in shape and well trained I could take a gun away from just about anyone. Why? Because if he is close enough to touch and he hasn't shot you yet, he isn't ready to.
A knife? Not so easy to do without getting hurt. Even the guy that trained us said, "Now I don't think I'd ever want to really do this..."

Back when my daughter was 13 or 14, I took her and a (female) friend to a shopping mall. On the way, they asked about getting nose rings. I said no.
They went off, and met me at the appropriate time, when we took the planned few minutes to do final errands. When we re-joined, they had nose rings. I was wondering what to do the entire 45 minute trip back. They both ran off into the friend's house. Only afterwards, when I was wondering what her mother would say, did I find out they were clip-ons, and they had planned it.
Good thing I didn't have a heart attack the whole time!

Still in time for next season, but I think he might have to wait a year for memories to fade.
Although there is no parole in the federal system, with time off for good behavior Vick could be released in the summer of 2009.

In college, one of my friends took me aside and asked if she had done anything to offend my father. I didn't think so.
"He doesn't look me in the face anymore," she said.
I had to explain it was the nose ring--he couldn't look at her head-on anymore, because it grossed him out. Nothing personal.
Vick is scheduled for release on July 20, 2009, and will serve three years of probation. His latest plea is important because it resolves the remaining charges against him, which is required under federal law if he is to move into a halfway house.
The deal during his Virginia case stated that he moves to the halfway house for the last 6 months of his sentence

Well for sure that guy looks like a candidate for position of AC! Dead eyes or what!
It looks like the Car-B-Qs are in full swing in France. Which seems to be well synchronized with Sarkozy visit to Ramallah to negotiate a seize fire agreement with Israel (Maximum Jihad and maximum negotiation pressure on France and the Israel).

I know someone who was "selected" to have some backyard work finished in a couple of days for some TV show. One of the projects was a builtin BBQ with stucco walls and tile top. After a few months the stucco was cracking and the grout was falling out.
But it sure looked pretty the day it was finished!
ANNE FRANK is to be portrayed as a stroppy teenager undergoing her sexual awakening in a new television adaptation of her wartime diary.
In the drama to be shown this week, Anne, a Jewish victim of the Nazis, is shown having her first experience of love, kissing a boy with whom she is hiding from the Nazis.
The portrayal is a deliberate attempt to make Anne a more rounded character than in previous versions that have shown her more as a child martyr and symbol of Jewish suffering.
“I’ve not made her the sanctified Anne as she has been portrayed before,” said Deborah Moggach, the screenwriter and novelist. “Nor is she the voice of 6m Jews who died in the Holocaust. Again she’s been portrayed as that before.”

What are the boundaries of the Gaza strip? If you go far enough West you eventually get to an area where there are green areas. I figure that must be outside Gaza.
Hamas = Increasing Entropy, as in grass won't grow there.
On November 16, 2008, news agencies reported that Michael Vick's attorney stated that Vick could possibly be released from prison and moved to a halfway house as early as January 20, 2009. Vick is in the process of serving a 23 month prison sentence at Leavenworth, Kansas. He is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2008.

Btw, who pays for all these BBQ’d cars? Do the French get a free car after the old one is burned?
It is the French car company bailout. Everyone gets a free Renault or Citroen.
A few months later, they'll trade them in for something that actually runs.

There, thought I'd fix that for ya! BTW, could y'all send me an e-mail - yours is currently somewhere on my new computer, but only the computer gods know where!
I believe this to be more than just about Israel, it is
about humanity, civilization as a whole. Are we to be
barbarians, or civilized people, what are we to
accept as a people of the world.
I just can't quite wrap my head around tattoos. I've tried. But, honestly? It's always bothered me. I held a friend's hand through being tattooed, and I can't imagine doing that.
I know some people call it body art, and I've known people who were all but the illustrated man, but I just don't see it.

Why the hell do you think Obama got a majority of the Jewish vote? And the Dems have been getting close to 66% of the Jewish vote for years and years.

I'd going to print this article and give it to my mother. She's always going on about Carter's Habitat for Humanity work. This ought to keep her from bugging me about that for awhile.
OK, I'm babbling like crazy today on every thread I find, so I may as well admit it. This anti-Israel *** freaks me out. Goodell can't re-instate him till he's out of prison
His Attorney took care of the Virginia case ENSURING he would spend the last 6 months of his sentence (wait for it ) OUT OF PRISON. (in a halfway house) This clears the path fopr Goodell, which clears the path for the Falcons (whose owner is lobbying for his re-instatement) to trade his rights.
Its a done deal!
There's a real funny story about the late Grandmaster Remey Presas and a guy trying to rob him at knife point. He took the knife away from the guy, and then took his money. He let the guy go, and went into the hotel bar and bought a round of drinks for the house with dude's cash.
That is a real tough guy. I unfortunately never got to train with him.
Personally, if I'm going to make something a permanent part of my body, I want the best money can buy, not the lowest bid.
One of my SMART students told me that she wanted a dragon on her back, but she wanted to perfect the design first, and what she wanted would cost about $3000 from a good artist, so she figured she would wait until she was out of college, and could pay for it.

Well fwiw, I do think Israel needs some sort of end-game here, other than the occupation of Gaza and I frankly don't know what that is that would prevent Hamas from emerging from the rubble of Gaza, getting more rockets and (God forbid the Iranian Missilew with the range to hit Dimona).

The case could challenge the bedrock philosophy behind Habitat for Humanity, claiming that using volunteers, rather than professional builders, is causing as many problems as it solves.
April Charney, a lawyer representing many of the 85 homeowners in Fairway Oaks, said she had no problems taking on Habitat for Humanity, despite its status as a “darling of liberal social activists”. She said the charity should have told people that part of the estate had been built on a rubbish dump.

I am a huge NFL fan, but don't really care much about the home team. They have been so bad for so long I don't get upset anymore just because they are teh suck. I cashed out years ago. Whats sad is my 14 yo has about 10 NFL jerseys hanging in his closet and none of them are Lions. The last couple from this X-mas were a Brandon Jacobs Giants jersey and a Chad Henne Dolphins jersey.
If a franchise can't build a loyalty with the kids in town, it doesn't make for a strong future.

You know, unless we all start getting really mad and really loud and start pushing back against this shit this country is doomed. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Huffington and these pieces of shit are not going to leave a whole lot that would be recognizable as the society that my fathers generation worked like dogs to pass on.
People of good will seem to just roll over and take it. I am pretty sick seeing this country hijacked by scumbags like this and getting pissed off and complaining to no one in particular on the internet doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot to roll back the wave of crap that these creeps represent so well.
Most of the government employees I know have too much work to do and not enough time to do it in -- in the age of Continuing Resolutions, overtime is strictly controlled. In the incoming administration, my bet is that the safest jobs will be with SSA -- especially in the face-to-face jobs like service representative.
I'm especially happy that I don't work for the state of CA. There is no single elected official in the state who deserves to be reelected.
If Mohammed were alive today, he would be facing trial for War Crimes in the Hague.
Khaybar, yet another place where Jews dwelt before Islam (Just like the land of Israel, North Africa and the rest of the world for any matter). You are right Mo' should be tried for war crimes!
and the Jews should demand the "right of return to Saudi Arabia" and or compensation/ permanent refugee status from the UN.
Like this will ever happen...
When the crazed [bigoted word]s scream "Khaybar Khaybar ya Yahud, jaish-Muhammad saya'ud" they are admitting that the Jews were in Khaybar before Islam and they ethnically cleansed them.
Here’s more video images of the demonstration in which that Dutch parliament member shouted intifada. Gives you an idea of his fellow protesters who openly support terrorist organisations: “Hamas, Jihad, Hezbollah”
Around a minute, you’ll hear in the background: “Hamas, hamas, joden aan het gas”, which means:
“Hamas, hamas, Jews to the gas”
Wonder why these protesters dont schedule a protest during the Folsom Street Festival? Could they be scared of the leather folks and getting their ass whipped?
re tattoos.
An Army friend of mine was so proud of his tattoo
that he got when he was in Singapore. He had his name
written in Chinese characters on his chest. He was so
proud that he showed a chinese friend back home...
who promptly burst out laughing and said
"Hey ...big time spelling mistake!"
Another friend said chicks dig scars not tattoos...
if that's true then how come they never liked my collection?
In Germany there were dozens of Anti-Israel-demonstrations, often with more than 10,000 people. Small groups (~20 people) of pro-Israeli were beaten up by an islamic mob.
Next week there is the first big pro-Israel-rally in Berlin.
Seems to me that we're only steps away from the next Mumbai-like assault on a Jewish institution here in America, G-d forbid. Will the MSM still call them peace protesters?
This may be the last comment down on the floor, but I have to say that watching the video one thought came to mind over and over. Why do they have to cover their faces and be so agressive? And then it dawned on me, they are idiots.
I feel it's better to sing about these things ourselves and perform them with the people who it happened to than to have some journalist one day say 'then in 1971, one time when they were at the mudshark hotel...' But people have problems with things of a glandular nature in connection with things of a musical nature. They say why, music is way up here, and glands are way down there and they can't get 'em together, but then they are hypocritical because they take a band that doesn't sing about such things directly and couches their language a little and does it with a little choreography and say that that's great and that's real rock and roll. I maintain that there's no difference, we're just honest enough to get up and say 'this is this and that's that and here you are and respond to it' and the response is 'why... I'm hip, but of course I am offended'.
