Video: Keith Ellison on JihadTV

Video • Views: 4,196

Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison gives a very pro-Palestinian interview to JihadTV, and takes a step into “Jewish lobby” conspiracy territory.

Youtube Video

“The people who have a strong sympathy for the Israeli position are … dominate the conversation. And it’s really not politically safe to say, look, there are two sides to this, and Israel has not been a angel in this, and certainly there have been people on the Palestinian side who have not contributed to a constructive solution.”

Al Jazeera’s useful idiot interviewer is also very fond of Dennis Kucinich, of course.

Qualified disagreement here.
Clinton "solved" lots of problems not unlike the current one. Most of the solutions involved painting the scene as if there were no fundamental problem, which everybody basically bought into.

Given that Obama has worldwide admiration for his eloquence and style, I think it's quite possible that a lot of problems "go away" in the minds of the electorate, and to some extent, the world.

After Obama, maybe the boil breaks again.

Keith Maurice Ellison (born August 4, 1963) is an American lawyer and politician belonging to the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. He became the first Muslim to be elected to the United States Congress when he won the open seat for Minnesota's 5th congressional district, which centers on Minneapolis, in the House of Representatives in 2006. He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota, currently serving in the the 111th United States Congress. Ellison is also active on a national level in advocacy for Muslims in the United States.

OT, but media related.

Last night I - for some unknown reason, probably that last glass of wine - sat down and watched part of the People's Choice awards program. I was surprised at how uncomfortable it made me.

There were, I guess, "regular folks" in these pits, and the "stars" would slap hands like football players running onto the field at the beginning of the game.

At least some would. Others (like Robin Williams) tended to stay on the far side of the runway, as though getting to close to the "fans" was beneath them.

The fawning over these actors was nauseating, as were many of the acceptance speeches.

So what's the point? The political activism of these actors, coupled with the mindless adoration of the "fans" made me want to puke. All this is making it harder and harder for me to enjoy movies and television programs, as it is too hard to put the b.s. aside.

And I hate it.

(Rant off.)

The following excerpt was broadcast on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV on January 7, 2009 at 3:00 am. Presumably, the Hamas technician on duty got bored with the live image of Gaza at night, and decided to view other satellite channels, focusing on the Polish erotic channel Patio TV. re: #41 subsailor68

A different way to look at it is to consider the alternatives found in history and in other societies.

There are large numbers of people in any population that need to be lemmings. They are unthinking dolts who simply want to belong to some group of like minded people who are united by adoration of some figurehead.

We (thankfully) don't have an aristocracy, a royal family, or a dictatorship / ruling family. Instead, we have Hollywood. I'd rather that population be infatuated with who is screwing who in tinseltown than supporting a Hugo Chavez or Saddam Hussein.

That, of course, brings us to Obama. We have not come as close to having a mindless acclamation of a personality to rule over us in modern times as the recent election of Obama. He has no experience and no particular competency that makes him fit for the job. Which will be his undoing.

Today he is in a panic because his advisers put him there. He has no idea what the Money Supply is or how it functions, let alone the current account or any other metric used to gauge macro economic activity. Instead he will rely on a committee of second tier academics because his understanding of economics up to this point has been "White folks greed runs a world in need."

Point is, there will be profound disillusionment with Obama, and the mindless adoration will shift focus to the non political.

Obama has few choices, yet he will make some wrong ones (by inventing "new choices") just the same.

As a Jew from Ellison's district, I worked hard (OFTEN against my fellow Jews) to prevent this nutcase from getting elected. To no avail. But this video is instructive, showing just how clearly this phony speaks out of both sides of his mouth, telling Twin Cities Jews what they want to hear while he turns around and goes on Al Jazeera and spouts Mearsheimer/Walt/Israel Lobby rhetoric.

What's scariest is towards the end, where he appears to at least tacitly endorse Dennis Kucinich's plan to halt Israel from using US-made weapons in Gaza....
[Link: www.huffingtonpost.com...]

So I say this to my fellow Jews in Ellison's district....WAKE the F*CK up, people! This guy is NOT your friend, no matter how many prominent Jews he fools into thinking so. He is a two-faced double-dealing Hamas-supporting liar, and this video proves it.

That's rich. They've been trying for decades to say "socialism instead of capitalism" but with glaring evidence that capitalism is always better, they can't fool everyone.

Ellison: Hajj was transformative

There was no fanfare, no press release when Keith Ellison made the pilgrimage to the Muslim holy city of Mecca last week.

"We weren't really trying to turn this into a political thing," said the Democratic congressman from Minneapolis. "This is just me trying to be the best person I can be."

Downplaying his role as the first member of Congress to make the Hajj, as the pilgrimage is known, Ellison called the experience "transformative."

"It really didn't have anything to do with me being a congressman," said Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress.

/Hajj, not conducive to Jew tolerance

Hey, don't feel bad. We stopped watching a number of shows (mostly on NBC) because of their inclusion of liberal propaganda in the story lines. Law and Order comes to mind. Used to watch ABC's Boston Legal, but even though it could be quite funny, there was always a moonbat speech somewhere in it.

We own three tv's: one upstairs for guests, two downstairs. None is larger than 19 inch screen, though all are color tv's. We have basic cable so we have access to weather, and news in case of national emergency, or World Cup Soccer.
We have turned them on in the last year for only weather and WCS. And that is tolerated only with extensive use of the mute button.

As we all know, it's just so damn hard for anti-Israel lunatics (like Jimmy Carter, Mearsheimer and Walt, etc.) to get any media exposure these days. Such "brave" men, going up against the evil Protocols of the Elders of Zion world-domination puppeteers, no?

The sad truth is that it's those who support Israel who have to cower and whisper in public these days, or in the workplace, or on college campuses, or you-name-it....the world is upside down. The spineless are called "brave" and the brave are spit on.

I do not understand this.

They aren't taught history - its a school subject that has been virtually eliminated for all intent and purposes. If you don't know the history of the 30's and 40's, not just from the standpoint of the Holocaust but also of the extreme leftist movements of socialism, fascism, and communism, it's easy to think/say "well that all happened a long time ago, couldn't happen again, besides, all human beings really just want to get along and since that's the case all we need to do is sit down and talk about things, understand each other, blah blah blah".

None of which is true, of course. If I've learned anything after reading a lot of history for the past 25 years is that human beings haven't changed, humans are only interested in getting along when it is beneficial for both parties to do so, and that culture trumps humaness (if that's a word).

Rep. Ellison is merely the symptom of the cancer affecting the Great American Experiment, an apathetic, aliterate electorate that responds to name-recognition and MSM propoganda rather than being active citizens aware and informed of the issues before them. That is why the Murthas (calls his own constituents "Racist"), P. Kennedys (Detox will get you on Daytime talkshows, it shouldn't get one re-elected), etc. survive in office. It will only stop when we throw all the bums out, (like in 1980, 1994) and will need to be done again, and again every decade or so.

On the subject of politicians, Obama, and the economic issues we face, thought I'd pass along a quote from the beginning of Amity Schlaes' great book "The Forgotten Man."

"As soon as A observes something which seems to him to be wrong, from which X is suffering, A talks it over with B, and A and B then propose to get a law passed to remedy the evil and help X. Their law always proposes to determine what C shall do for X, or in the better case, what A, B, and C shall do for X...What i want to do is look up C. I want to show you what manner of man he is. I call him the Forgotten Man. Perhaps the appellation is not strictly correct. He is the man who is never thought of...

He works, he votes, generally he prays...but he always pays."

William Graham Sumner
Yale University 1883

Death of Gaza aid truck driver shrouded in uncertainty

According to the foreign media, who based their information on UN sources, IDF tank shells blasted the truck. According to the Magen David Adom medic who said he evacuated the Palestinians to an Israeli hospital, the truck came under Hamas sniper fire.

Again, I'm shocked to learn Hamas murdered a fellow Palestinian delivering aid to Gaza. Shocked, I tell you.

Party loyalty goes a long way. Most people don't form their political leanings so much as they inherit them from their families. In this country in particular a lot of 'liberal', secular Jews are virulently anti-Republican regardless of which way the political winds have shifted over the years.

Not to mention ~70 years ago it was FDR, Truman and other hawkish Dems pushing for going to war with Germany while the Republicans were the isolationists. 'America First', and other anti-war groups became infested with nazi (and in the early days communist) sympathizers, and were affiliated with Republican politics.

The current meme of the GOP being the 'racist' party probably holds a lot of water because of that legacy, and people like Pat Buchanan certainly don't help matters either.

Great comment. Of course Obama's gonna make mistakes - name one president who didn't. Obama's problems aren't, however, just the product of his inexperience - they are because he promised too much to too many people who have conflicting interests.
Just look at his postions on the economy:
Taxes- don't keep up the Bush tax cuts - no, on second thought let's give people tax breaks;
Yeah bailout the unions - but which ones - the UAW?
Then he has to bail out the Big 3.
Alternate energy - what?
Bailout the unions - what about the teacher's unions and the public service unions?
Reign in overspending - but pass a "stimulus package" that ALL BY ITSELF will surpass the deficit of this past year.
And let's not even TALK about bailing out the States.
He literally has to disappoint significant groups of his supporters.

re: #41 subsailor68

(Rant off.)

I know what you mean. I just wont pay money to watch films with actors I know are completely looney left. I won't eat at Ted's Montana Grill. I go through Starbux only because Dunkin Donuts screwed me out of caffeine too many times. One of my passions is music, and I have deleted several albums from my library after finding out the artist is a complete left whackjob. It gets more and more difficult to enjoy our social culture.

I'd like to point out that if the Federal Government keeps borrowing and growing it will cut off access to capital for companies that are trying to create jobs and grow. Not completely, but enough to dampen a recovery and constrict tax receipts, thereby forcing more borrowing.

A lot of stimulus is in place between low fuel costs, a bloated money supply and more Federal spending. Leave it alone and get an expansion for a couple of quarters and then check the temperature of the patient. But that won't happen - this is an opportunity to go on a spending spree that congress will not pass up.

If the truck in question were hit by a HEAT round from a tank it would be obliterated, along with the occupants, I'm guessing. The article mentions gunshot wounds - maybe a tank did hit it with machine gun fire, but aren't those guns used mostly for anti-personnel? Point being, that if it was a tank that fired on the truck it would be far more likely to take truck-shattering HEAT round than a few bursts from the tanks machine guns.

Last year I read "The Autobiography of Malcolm X," to try and get some sense of what motivates Black Muslims. I recommend that anyone concerned about this group read it - it's well-written and EXTREMELY scary. The book was narrated to Alex Haley by Malcolm X right before he was killed in 1965.

Keith Ellison was once a serious member of the Nation of Islam, and may still be (his distancing from the group a few years ago is obviously politically motivated). The beliefs of this group are laughable in a twisted way - until you realize that its adherents are willing to act on these beliefs. Any MSM member worth his or her paycheck would be asking Ellison pointed questions about Elijah Muhammad's insane racial theories and whether he believes them in any way.

Agree. However, many of those constituents seem stuck on giving him a pass for whatever he does. Remember how NOW signed off on Clinton-Lewinsky as "sex and lies?" That should have been an existential issue for a Feminist organization. But they let it slide.

But your point sticks - he has already gone back on FISA, Iraq, the surge (he now wants on in Afghanistan even though "they don't work"), etc. Our job is to be gadflies to the true believers and point out these contradictions over and over. It will ultimately set in.

BTW - I have a neighbor who went off on me at a party 3 weeks ago about how Obama would only select competent people to work for him, and he went on and on about "Brownie" and Katrina (I have become the lone 'conservative'/punching bag in the area). I saw him yesterday and pointed out that the Panetta pick is a political one and in no way based on competence. He tried to defend it - then I pointed out it was for the CIA. This guy I was arguing with lived in NYC on 9/11 and lost friends. I reminded him of that, and how incompetent the CIA was and is. He had a look of real discomfort cross his face then he recomposed and said "Well ... we'll see".

re: #74 eschew_obfuscation

Hey, don't feel bad. We stopped watching a number of shows (mostly on NBC) because of their inclusion of liberal propaganda in the story lines. Law and Order comes to mind. Used to watch ABC's Boston Legal, but even though it could be quite funny, there was always a moonbat speech somewhere in it.

I don't mind a liberal bias. In fact, I expect it. But there's a world of difference between between pro-liberal bias and out-and-out anti-Republican HATE. The West Wing was a show that, while consistantly liberal, didn't stray into bashing, ridiculing, or just hating Republicans too often, except once really (the bad James Brolin Republican stereotype).

On the other hand, shows like Law and Order, e.r., Studio 60, Nip/Tuck and especially Boston Legal just can't/couldn't stop the hate. After the fourth episode in a row of Law and Order suggesting that the Republican National Convention of 2004 was somehow a Nazi occupation that irreversably trampled civil liberties in NYC forever, I stopped watching forever. When Candice Bergen compared Bush to a chimpanzee in Primetime on Boston Legal, I didn't watch ABC for a year.

Don't feel bad about changing the channel. When enough of us do, someone will get the message.

So then he makes Hillary the Sec of State and apparently wants Caroline Kennedy to be Senator for New York (assuming she can find out WHERE New York is) and, again, he isn't even President yet. I honestly think that "Buyer's Remorse" has already started setting in among those who would otherwise vote Republican and some - maybe most - of the Independents.
And think of what may happen if he doesn't come out and support Israel - especially after his famous line "if it were my daughters who were being subjected to Rocket attacks, I sure wouldn't stand still for it". Then he loses even more (gays are already gone) of his LEFT base.

Ellison: Hajj was transformative

/Hajj, not conducive to Jew tolerance

Interesting . . he is so devout as to make the Hajj, but refuses the "honor" of adding "Haj" to his name. Or did I miss something? He is still Kieth Ellison, not Kieth Haj Ellison?

You are right - he will disappoint plenty of people. And the result will not be pretty.
We suffered through 8 years of Bush hatred, fueled by lefty bloggers, the MSM, and others. The web has had a tremendous impact in this.
And now it is our turn to leverage this newfound power to our advantage. The coming shit storm will hit the new administration with a vengeance. It's already brewing on some of the lib sites, and B.Hussein isn't even in office yet.

You know Ellison is going to give a pro terrorist interview. It doesn't bother me.

What send my blood boiling is the comments of people who think they are being fair.

Take Nicholas Kristof in the N Y Times. He frequently criticizes Israel, but I bet when he wrote the following, he thought is a legitimate and fair expression.

But Israel’s right to do something doesn’t mean it has the right to do anything. Since the shelling from Gaza started in 2001, 20 Israeli civilians have been killed by rockets or mortars, according to a tabulation by Israeli human rights groups. That doesn’t justify an all-out ground invasion that has killed more than 660 people (it’s difficult to know how many are militants and how many are civilians).

[Link: www.nytimes.com...]

Yes. When you are being targeted for murder every day, and you were lucky that the savages did not meet their aims, it does mean you have a right to do ANYTHING to stop the trauma, the uncertainty, the fright, and the possibility that you or those you love may die at any moment.

And when you have waited for the World to do something SINCE 2001 and nothing was done, you have waited seven years and eleven months too long.

Kristof has shut down comments to his article.

I would love to see the relationship coefficient between "adoring fans" of these liberal ass-hats and how they voted. My guess is that 99.99% voted for the O. Which makes sense as the majority of this country's population is satisfied with a mediocre, meaningless life in front of the picture screen.

/brother-in-rant

LOL. I think your 99.99% estimate may be a little low. Unless, of course, there was one who was sick that day and didn't make it to the polls.

Expert Opinion

If the last ten years have done nothing in the realm of public debate, they at least should have settled one very critical matter- never believe a press report that claims western military forces will lose or fail.

Think about the track record of the media:

Afghanistan was to be another Vietnam and take years to conquer, seven weeks after 911, the US attacked and five weeks later; the Taliban was crushed and al Qaeda was on the run.

In 2002, experts warned that Israel had no choice but to negotiate with the terrorists who were escalating suicide bomb attacks. The press was wrong about Arafat's involvement and very wrong about the use of force and cycles of violence. From the moment the dust settled in Jenin, the number of suicide bomb attacks in Israel dropped.

The same experts told us the Israels fence would not work, only negotiations would bring an end to terrorism. Funny thing was terror attacks against Israelis have dropped 99% since the fence went up and most of the attacks took the form of missiles from Hamas.

Then the experts predicted Stalingrad AND Vietnam on the Tigris. We sort of got a mini-Vietnam but mostly because of obscenely poor planning for occupation and Iranian/Syrian intervention in Iraq's stability. Al Qaeda played a role to be sure but the experts doubled down against the surge saying only pullout would work and they could not have been more wrong.

So the same experts now tell us that Israel cannot win Gaza and must pull out to save civilian casualties.

We should not be just skeptical of the experts, we must reject them out of hand. When Moshe "Bogie" Ya'alon says Hamas can be defeated why shouldn't we believe the man who not only predicted that Arafat would take his people to war in September 2000 but the man who also was the military mind who oversaw the utter defeat of the second Intifada terror? You can believe a Time Magazine reporter, who has no combat experience and never led a combat unit, with questionable loyalties to western civilization and an absolute need to get quotes from Hamas (contingent on his writing stories they like) for stories or you can believe Ya'alon and the other members of the IDF General Staff, to say nothing of Ehud Barak, the most decorated former soldier in the IDF. This is not to say the IDF can't be wrong and I would never say they universally agree on all courses of action but there is no question that the IDF general staff has so far in this war gotten everything about right.

[Link: corner.nationalreview.com...]

But that won't happen - this is an opportunity to go on a spending spree that congress will not pass up.

yep.

The proportional response to an organization that has stated it wishes to exterminate a country. Then Hamas proceeds to launch rockets indiscriminately with an idea of creating a broader 3 front war against Israel with the rest of the middle east involved. The proportionate response is to eliminate Hamas completely.

What Kristoff wants to do is have a massive bureaucracy maintain an appropriate death ratio between the status quo. I think there is a Star Trek episode about this and I suspect that is where he is getting his foreign policy advice.

re: #76 Hard Right

Apparently not. Coleman ran an ad showing videotape of Franken's irrational and angry outburts. The ads questioned how fit he was for the job. Coleman had to pull them. People got mad at Coleman. Felt they were character attacks. Idioits!

The people that were mad were probably all Franken voters. And the media expanded the story to imply that the angry people were just voters.

That was a theme in the last election that the Republicans fell for. Let your opponent define you as a negative campaigner. Then be honest and tell everyone how much negative campaigner offends you and you think it offends other people. Then go back to your own negative campaigning while the media attention is focused on your opponent.

Local MSM covered his trip to MECCA heavily. Not once was he asked about the gay-lesbian-transgendered presence at the event.

It's relevant as his congressional district pretty much coincides with the city of Mpls, a very liberal, very pro-gay rights city. He is a liberal Democrat. I would love to have seen him reconcile this.

As a Minnesotan, I can say with all certainty that after a trip into Minneapolis, it becomes painfully obvious that the majority of the population has been on a steady diet of lead paint chips for the past 30 years. What was once a beautiful city has been converted into a trash heap by wave after wave of liberal democrat administrations, while St. Paul has become the star of the Twin Cities, entirely due to Norm Coleman. But as usual, we're too moronic in this state to realize it.
