CNN’s Staged Video Updates

Media • Views: 5,389

Here’s an interesting update to the story of the obviously staged video from Gaza promoted and vouched for by CNN.

The company that provided this video story to CNN and several other news outlets is World News & Features, as we pointed out yesterday after CNN published their defense of the piece.

At the lower right of the World News & Features front page, we find a link to Nepras.net as the designer of the site.

A WHOIS lookup for worldnf.tv reveals that the domain is hosted by nepras.net:

Domain Name: worldnf.tv

Domain servers in listed order:
ns1.nepras.net
ns2.nepras.net

And the primary contact and general manager for nepras.net is none other than the “freelance photographer” who filmed that hospital scene, Ashraf Mashharawi.

Overnight, I received several more emails from doctors and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), all expressing the opinion that the video is staged and that the “CPR” shown is an obvious fraud, for many reasons. So far, not one doctor has written to say the technique shown in the video might be genuine.

UPDATE at 1/10/09 11:21:43 am:

And more connections to Hamas; the official website of the Hamas television station (Aqsa TV) was registered by Mashharawi’s company:

"So far, not one doctor has written to say the technique shown in the video might be genuine."

Have you asked any "palistinian doctors" their opinion?

I *Still* think that if anyone has a doctor's appointment coming up, you might want to work this into the conversation. Especially the part about how doctors "fake" treatment for the benefit of victim's families.

So, CNN is thoroughly punked by some third-rate pretenders, and CNN is incapable of hiring its own medical personnel to even review the film for production values that wouldn't make it onto a network medical show.

A terrible thought: looking forward to havdallah in Israel so Aussie Dave, Carl, and the Muqata guys will get back on line. Muqata has put up a "shavuah tov" so they're gearing up to get going.

Captain Kangaroo used to read the story "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel." The steam shovel dug a basement it couldn't get out of, so it was turned into the boiler to heat the new building. If only there was something useful CNN could do for us down in its hole....

I LOVED that book! I remember it from elementary school.

23 Sunlight  Sat, Jan 10, 2009 9:26:00am

CNN was not punked. Their staff has a very bad case of wanting "to make a difference." It has made them into a sociopath group, thinking they are doing good. Accurate narrative, according to them. Supporting a group that they consider oppressed victims and saying anything to carry forward the noble narrative. How can they stand themselves?

24 the_flying_pig  Sat, Jan 10, 2009 9:26:06am

This is what happens when an industry is run by individuals who have spent their life-times insulated by their profession. No, real-world experience, no frame of reference to help them think "gee, could this be real?"

31 lawhawk  Sat, Jan 10, 2009 9:27:23am

Doctors v. propagandists, which one is CNN going to side with? Like there was any doubt?

No doctor worth their salt is going to come out and say that Gilbert and his associate were properly engaging in a code, because they know that it simply isn't the case. But, the leftists - like Comments from Left Field (where apparently reading comprehension is from left field as well) think that we're nutters or that we don't think that there are civilian casualties in Gaza.

Here's the thing; there are civilian casualties in Gaza. There are plenty of them. And all those victims are the fault of no one but Hamas. But for Hamas rocket attacks on Israel, Israel would not be fighting Hamas in Gaza. But for Israel's existence, Hamas would not be firing those rockets at Israel. Hamas wanted this war, wanted the civilian casualties, and is repeatedly engaging in rampant violations of international law and all norms associated with the rules and conduct of war, including the Geneva Conventions, Genocide Conventions, etc.

The doctors in that video engaged in propagandizing the situation to the benefit of spreading lies and propaganda against Israel. If they were truly concerned about the wellbeing of Gazans, they would be speaking out against Hamas, but to do so would sign their own death warrants. Hamas is watching those hospitals carefully - and has repeatedly executed those they consider collaborators. A doctor saying that Hamas is to blame for the violence would surely get a harsh lesson in objective reality - courtesy of a defenestration or execution, or perhaps a kneecapping.

As for the scene of where the victims were injured, where is the blood from the so called missile strike? We have been treated to hundreds of photos from various incidents throughout Gaza showing blood stained streets and areas where Gazans have been hit by missiles, gunfire, etc., and yet this rooftop is oddly absent all evidence of such an incident. There are pockmarks to be sure, but they are rusted out and predate the current conflict - things do not rust overnight.

So, CNN is deciding that they'll take the word of the propagandists who made the video, their employers, and not the word of doctors who consider the treatment to be bunk.

Nice.

Stay classy CNN. You've sided with the enemy again.

I'm glad it can be seen as entertaining. Because CNN's "make a difference" lying is resulting in people on the streets shouting for Jews to be put in ovens. And people just cluck and tsk tsk in empathy. I've raised my kids Jewish and am somewhat alarmed (as opposed to entertained) by what in happening - in America.

CNN is hoping that when it develops that this is indeed fake, everyone will be so tired of it they won't be paying attention, but the video and the story will have made the impact in people's minds that CNN thinks should be made (oh, those poor people in Gaza, bad Israel!).

There is a similar phenomenon one sees in the world, in which the ignorant parade their ignorance as a badge of honor. Saw it again just the other day, the head of some UN school in Gaza who was 99% positive that his school had NOT been used as a missile launch site, no matter what the Israelis claim. He had researched it throughly. Had he been there? Er, no, apparently not, but he was happy to go on camera and parade his ignorance and high dudgeon, for his very own fifteen minutes of fame. Drech.

CNN will stand by the video to the bitter end because to admit that the video may be staged is to admit that Palestinians stage news events, and that's an admission that they will never make.

60 jcm  Sat, Jan 10, 2009 9:34:25am

Most CNN view saw the video and nodded their vacuous little heads, filling the empty space with this tripe. Then the next day at the water cooler they tip their heads and share the "facts" as presented by the unimpeachable CNN. All their friends at the water cooler lap it up and spread it around.

They are completely unaware of the what's going on re: the story they've so gullibly swallowed hook, line and sinker.

Then they bump into someone who's been paying attention and their world view according to CNN is challenged. Their reaction is not curiosity, or a desire to seek out and find the truth. They react with anger at their comfortable little CNN world view being upset. They lash out against the messenger, and call them names, and label them bitter and clingy.

The fraud was aimed at the family, not the press.
The doctors did only as good a job of fake medical care to fool Gazan country boobs.
They were never expecting to have it aired internationally.
Is there any way to get it aired IN Gaza along with proofs by doctors of how real medical care would have looked.
Hamas could be taken down internally if the people of Gaza learn just how pitifully they are being played by Hamas.

No one will notice this, but isn't it a huge credit to the IDF that CNN has to use a staged video from a Hamas webmeister to make their case because there aren't a plethora of "real" situations that can be reported? I mean, given the number of "on the street" videos that are getting out, if there were lots of scenes, they would be on liveleak or youtube (or CNN).

1. CNN is most likely a victim of the fakery, not the author. But they should own up to it.

2. I can imagine a doctor faking a futile treatment so the anguished family can feel better. Or so that the doctor won't be hurt by the relatives. This would be medical fakery.

3. The kid in the video may not be so ill the treatment is futile, he may be so healthy that treatment is not needed. This would be political fakery.

4. CNN won't check any of this unless somebody holds their feet to the fire. They just fill airtime with something sensational, it's the nature of 24-hour video news.

5. Actual children are hurt in war, regardless of the video.

But he and his fellow moonbats are all worked up in some weird fantasy world, and we will all suffer the consequences. CNN is a major part of the libtard world, and we see this same fantasy mechanism at work in these execrable videos, as long as they jerk the tears, their provenance and believability, by those who insist on fact or thinking, are simply not relevant. And this on a network whose very name uses the word "news", that used to relate to facts, and not (just) newness.

The only problem is ... whereas acceptance of facts and shame in being caught in a lie used to be near-universal hallmarks of Western civilization, nowadays far too many people ... including people you would never think of as "evil" ... are far too willing to accept lies, and get angry when you try to lead them to truth.

re: #79 Doctor Bulldog

Sunlight,

That was in reference to watching CNN digging its hole deeper and deeper as the bloggers expose the lies.

It wasn't in reference to the actual video itself.

Yes, I agree. It is terrible that CNN and other media outlets fatuously continue to vomit this propaganda upon the masses, fomenting hatred of Israel and her citizens - who just want to be left alone to live their lives in peace.

Exposing the lies and propaganda of the MSM is paramount in the war.

Cheers

The current situation with Israel is historical because:

1) Israel is calling the enemy ahead of time to warn them that they are going to bomb specific buildings. So, get out. Israel is also doing what they can to protect Israelis.

2) The Palestinians are trying to kill Israelis AND are willing to kill their own people (martyrs, suicide bombers, human shields, taking children along with them).

Charles is quoted extensively.

My favorite line from John:

JOHN adds: As others have noted, CNN on-air personnel openly ridiculed the idea of sending Joe the Plumber to Israel as a "reporter." They think he's unqualified for the job. I'm not sure what qualifies a person to be a reporter, but unwillingness to make s*** up would seem to be at the top of the list.

re: #84 Sunlight

No one will notice this, but isn't it a huge credit to the IDF that CNN has to use a staged video from a Hamas webmeister to make their case because there aren't a plethora of "real" situations that can be reported? I mean, given the number of "on the street" videos that are getting out, if there were lots of scenes, they would be on liveleak or youtube (or CNN).

Good point, except, like, lots and lots of people are noticing.

I tend to agree. A zillion dollar enterprise like CNN doesn't just throw whatever material shows up in their in-box onto the air. It gets looked at, vetted, etc. by "professionals" who are supposed to be able to recognize such an obvious (according to the Docs I've seen post here) fake.
Pretending that they were duped might be the easiest way out for them, but it I have serious doubts that that is the truth.

1) The video has been debunked six ways from sunday. The medical treatment, the weapon that would fit the evidence in the video does not exist etc... CNN has all the evidence it needs to be responsible and retract the story until it can be independently confirmed.

2) For the family, why for the camera?

3) Does Mohammed Al-Dura ring a bell?

4) That's they duty as journalists, confirm the story.

5) Yes, and the responsible party is Hamas.

Barack Obama 'kidnaps' 24 hero Jack Bauer

As the hero of the television action series, Bauer became a modern icon of rugged American values and a fictional flag waver for the Bush administration's determination to defeat terrorists.

The intelligence agent, played by Keifer Sutherland, has never been afraid to torture or shoot to kill while tackling villainous foreigners intent on waging war on the American homeland.

But now US conservatives are up in arms that the election of President-Elect Barack Obama has led the show's producers to pander to the liberal consensus in Hollywood, which they claim has led to the blacklisting of those who disagree with their anti-war views.

When the series returns for its seventh season on Sunday night, Bauer will mouth the views of Mr Obama, who has vowed to end "enhanced interrogation", also known as torture, and close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

And in an apparent bid to get in tune with the new president, the new season opens with Bauer facing a congressional investigation probing his use of torture and summary executions in previous series. "It's better that everything comes out in the open," Bauer says, echoing Democrat demands for greater transparency over US counter-terrorist tactics.

"We've done so many things in the name of protecting this country, we've created two worlds. Ours and the people's we've promised to protect. They deserve to hear the truth and decide how far they want to let us go."

You've hit at the essence of what's wrong with the media. Wanting to do good....to make a difference, is on the surface a wonderful thing. But when your job is reporting the facts, this motivation becomes an excuse for slanting those facts.
It's ironic that liberalism preaches non-judgementalism, yet liberal reporters make judgements regularly and apply them to their subjects.
My advice to reporters who want to make a difference.......run for office, get elected and then make a difference. If you're not willing to do that then STFU and just report the facts.

Captain Kangaroo used to read the story "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel." The steam shovel dug a basement it couldn't get out of, so it was turned into the boiler to heat the new building. If only there was something useful CNN could do for us down in its hole....

That book is still in my kids' school library (it was originally published in 1939), and we got to read it recently. The steam shovel went to do the job at the small-town bank because their were no more jobs in the big city. This was because steam shovels had been made obsolete by gasoline-powered shovels. The deal that Mike Mulligan made with the bank owner was that his steam shovel ("Mary Anne") could dig the basement in one day, or the dig would be free. When they got done, the steam shovel was stuck in the basement, unable to get out. So, the steam shovel was converted to serve as the bank's heating system boiler, and Mike Mulligan was given the job of running the boiler, so they didn't have to part. Good story.

re: #153 LGoPs

You've hit at the essence of what's wrong with the media. Wanting to do good....to make a difference, is on the surface a wonderful thing. But when your job is reporting the facts, this motivation becomes an excuse for slanting those facts.
It's ironic that liberalism preaches non-judgementalism, yet liberal reporters make judgements regularly and apply them to their subjects.
My advice to reporters who want to make a difference.......run for office, get elected and then make a difference. If you're not willing to do that then STFU and just report the facts.

Not just the media. The NE university trained financial people are into it also. So they think they are "making a difference" when they set up programs giving home loans to people who don't meet the normal lending standards. And then sprinkling the high risk/ultimately defaulted debt all through the foundation of the economy with their derivatives packages. And now people will starve and these brainwashed do-gooders (with no good sense) will never realize that their "making a difference" will result in people starving in the world because they undermined the commerce that was allowing the world to feed the hungry.

NBC’s Gregory Describes Hamas as ‘Terrorist Group Bent on Destruction of Israel,’ Ceasefires for Regrouping
By Brad Wilmouth (Bio %P% Archive)
January 9, 2009 - 18:39 ET

Among the anchors and correspondents on the broadcast networks, NBC’s David Gregory has been unique in conveying to viewers the nature of Hamas as, on two occasions during the opening weekend of the airstrikes by Israel in Gaza, Gregory referred to Hamas as a "terrorist organization that is bent on the destruction of Israel." He also recently gave attention to the Hamas doctrine that the purpose of a ceasefire is to regroup and resume fighting later with greater strength.

Exposing the fake videos and all the other propaganda- mostly the fact that the Western media, with CNN leading the pack when it's not the BBC- is important work. These lies eat away at Israel's support even from good people who try to be objective if not pro Israel.

But there is something much more serious. And these immediate lies change the course of the war. They help the enemy win. They move Nations to do acts which harm Israel. It was exactly thus in Lebanon.

Yesterday, it was headline news that Israel killed a UN driver delivering food. The condemnation was immediate. Such damaging lies can result in how the US votes in the Security Council.

It was a headline at CNN. And everywhere else.

Israel investigated.

The IDF was not responsible for the death of a Palestinian aid worker contracted to the UN and the wounding of two others last Thursday, the IDF Spokesperson said Saturday.

"An IDF investigation has found that it was not the army who fired on a UN truck at the Erez Crossing," the Spokesperson's office said. The IDF is not sure who fired on the truck, and is still investigating. "The army further wishes to point out that the Palestinian wounded were evacuated by the Red Cross to the Israeli border, where they were taken by Israeli medical personnel for treatment at Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital," the IDF told The Jerusalem Post.

[Link: www.jpost.com...]

So of course, CNN will report the the truth?

Maybe you can find the headline on their Gaza news page, I can't.

HAMAS ALLIES PREPARE FOR RENEWED CONFLICT

With the Israel-Hamas cease-fire in Gaza looking increasingly shaky, we have exclusive footage of the armed wing of the Hamas-aligned Popular Resistance Committee, drilling, preparing weaponry and making the explosives for rocketry ... in defiance of the Israelis just a couple of miles away. I e-mailed him back and implied he was "behind" in coverage, and pointed him to MEMRI, the IDF, and several links from here (LGF), including the current topic. I made sure he knew where most of my news (links) were coming from.
(hint: not KOS).

Where else on the planet do medical doctors perform fake medicine for the cameras and expect to be paid for practicing real medicine?

No where else but in liberalism can you screw things up so badly and not be held accountable.

They don't think there is anything to be held accountable for. They figure that even if it can't be fixed, it was the right thing to do to spread the wealth around. And as people start starving in the world economy reduced by their actions, they will make no connection to their choices and advocacy. Just like they still feel a golden glow about their riotous protests forcing the U.S. armed forces out of southeast asia. The idea that 2.5 million people were left to be slaughtered in Cambodia (our presence delayed this rottenness for a decade) has no connection in their minds to their advocacy and choices.

I think it was a great movie revolving around the time leading up to a marriage..And all his buddies and the real life interaction between Him and all his buddies and family issues.. Has complex script dialog..fun moments, deep shit..Fights and relationships..real life stuff..
And ends really well leaving you feel you just got to see part of your own life and feeling good...
For a lousy movie year...and lots of movie stars doing a great down to earth script..I give the movie 4 out of 5 stars

Legal Ramifications of Designation

1. It is unlawful for a person in the United States or subject to the jurisdiction of the United States to knowingly provide "material support or resources" to a designated FTO. (The term "material support or resources" is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(1) as " any property, tangible or intangible, or service, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities, financial services, lodging, training, expert advice or assistance, safehouses, false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel (1 or more individuals who maybe or include oneself), and transportation, except medicine or religious materials.”

I've been wondering why CNN hasn't simply asked a medical expert for an opinion on the video. This is where the objections all lie, after all. Yet I haven't found any mention of CNN having sought such an opinion, which would put the matter to rest immediately.

Can't they just put Surgeon General Nominee Sanjay Gupta on the case? He's still on their payroll, after all, and is extremely familiar with emergency procedures.

A pointer in determining the actual number is by angle of the photos/videos. If it's taken from ground-level, it's probably the smaller number. If it's shot from above, it's likely closer to the larger number - generally speaking.

The thing to do is to publicly shame them, they count on an ability to restrict the flow of information. Ideally we could buy a large billboard over times square and put up a simple message:

 CNN LIES, Fraud & Fakery
see littlegreenfootballs.com

The idea is to so publicly humiliate them that they have to sue you. That makes it a public story and gets the facts out. Obviously this can be very risky and expensive. They count on that to protect themselves.

Hi Real! I contacted a local Fox affiliate because they interviewed a woman in headscarf at an anti Israel rally in DC--who just happens to be a producer for Al Jazeera in DC, and is also the daughter who keeps at home (on "house arrest") her father, convicted enabler of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Dr. Sami Al Arian. Yes, the innocent-looking Ms. Arian supports terrorist organizations--which is against US law, not that that stops CNN or other leftist pro Caliphate News Nebbishes!

Charles, please note that Mads Gilbert knows or is part of a group of moonbats in his home town Tromsoe in Norway who long have planned to make a film together with Ashraf Mashharawi (the famous "freelance camaeraman" in the video).

See

[Link: www.tromso-gaza.no...]
and
[Link: www.tromso-gaza.no...]

This group, which promotes friendship between Tromsoe and Gaza, also met Ahmed Mashharawi, a film maker with whom Ashraf Mashharawi has worked together, at a film festival.

This means Gilbert and Mahharawi probably knew each other before this incident.

I wrote this in the previous thread but most were busy discussing Palin.

I think this is an exceptional idea...shame is a powerful club to get smacked with

How hard can this be?

They've responded to the non-existent allegation of image manipulation and the non existent allegation that cpr would not be attempted in such a case, but so far I haven't seen them respond to the actual allegation that the cpr procedure was faked.

Debka has a report that Hamas has sent a negotiating team to sue for peace. Allegedly unconditional surrender are the terms!

It's Debka so let's wait to see confirmation but it is looking like Hamas has crumpled- in true and when taken in conjunction with the reports of entire battalions of their forces ceasing to exist, Israel may have won and won on the cheap!

Think of all the troops who don't get killed or injured because the enemy surrenders. Israel has no reason to accept anything less than Hamas complete disarmament, Shalit's return (unharmed or the fighting continues!), the complete disarmament of anyone other than the PA militia/police and vigorous inspections to prevent rocket factories.

That loud crack you heard last night was Hamas' spine.

The two problems are 1) Legal, which is to say money, in pulling this off and 2) Access to a billboard, which is also money but even more so censorship. The billboards are owned by Viacom and in that incestuous little world I for some reason doubt that non-PC political messages are going to find a venue.

You've hit on a good point. I often see parallels in the behavior of the media, and liberals in general, to the cliques and the 'in' crowd dynamics from back in high school. It accounts for their groupthink and the snide way they deride anyone not in agreement with them. It truly is adolescent thinking......camouflaged by the appearance of sophistication.

If all you movie-loving lizards want to try something a little different, let me recommend the movie "Kontroll." It's in Hungarian, but the subtitles help all of us non-Magyar to follow it.

The cinematography is simply breath-taking - all of it filmed in the Budapest underground. The cast of characters (the "Kontrollers") are a blast; the dialogue, even in Magyar, is at least as good as anything Tarantino ever tried, albeit it's not self-consciously hip. Think of it as a bleak comedy, and a little bit of a mystery too.

By the way, it has the best foot-chase scene EVER:

Good stuff, see if when you've got about 3 1/2 hours to spare. Well worth it.

debka report

As Hamas showed first signs of cracking under Israel's massive 14-day assault, three Gaza leaders were allowed by Israel and Egypt to make their way secretly to Cairo for a second round of ceasefire talks – this time without conditions.

DEBKAfile's military sources report Jemal Abu Hashem, who rarely appears on public, Salah Bardaweel, leader of Hamas parliament faction, and Heiman Ta'a, member of the military wing's command were allowed to exit Gaza, Friday, Jan 9 and make their way to the northern Sinai town of El Arish. From there, an Egyptian military flight flew them to Cairo. They were permitted to leave after consenting to an unconditional ceasefire, dropping their demand for open Gaza crossings and accepting that Israeli forces would hold their present lines.

More details about this developing story later.

Yes. The opening sequence with the gathering of the bad men behind the credits was originally silent. The songlyrics by Ned Washington, music by the famous old cowboy Dmitri Tiomkin and delivery by Tex Ritter (father of John) was added after audience testing. One of the few ties a studio doing that improved a movie.

The Times of London: "Peaceful Protest" against Israel turns violent in London

One officer was knocked unconscious and two others received facial injuries as the mood at the peaceful protest turned sour.

A small group of protestors turned on mounted police and riot officers on foot, throwing missiles and smashing windows in Kensington, close to the Israeli Embassy.

[Link: www.timesonline.co.uk...]

Throwing missles? Why imagine that :-)

"Palestinian" supporters are sociopaths. Anyway, these aren't really protests against Israel, that's just the excuse wilfully parroted by the MSM. The reality is that the riots are leftist/Islamic tributes to Kristallnacht.

Charles,

Count me as one of the medical professionals that agree that the CPR episode in the hospital was staged...as one that has done CPR in the ER and ICU and a former CPR instructor, you push down on the sternum area hard enough to break ribs in order to get blood circulating...the event staged in the video was a joke. Plus the Norwegian Doctor - why wasn't he putting a foot up the Pali doctors butt about his technique...if he's running the "code" on the kid, then he's supposed to be the one directing people on what to do, and getting the "observers" out of the room...personally, the Norwegian is placing his politics above his Hippocratic Oath....

As for CNN - they're showing the world why they are the bottom feeders of the MSM...hanging with the losers to show "their side of the story"

Charles, you are right, but for a different reason.

> A WHOIS lookup for worldnf.tv reveals
> that the domain is hosted by Nepras.net:
...
> Domain servers in listed order:
> NS1.NEPRAS.NET
> NS2.NEPRAS.NET

It doesn't mean that worldnf is hosted by nepras. It merely means that nepras does worldnf's dns.

However, worldnf *IS* hosted by nepras. Or at least they are on the same box:

$ host worldnf.tv
worldnf.tv has address 67.228.174.170
...
$ host (www.nepras.net)
(www.nepras.net) is an alias for nepras.net.
nepras.net has address 67.228.174.170
...
$

I had to put the (www) stuff into parentheses after pasting in order to protect them from being turned into actual links by your comment engine.

Well, that two ip addresses are the same. So they are (unless some trickery like server farm is involved) hosted on the same machine.

Now, let's see what this ip address resolves to. Are they hosted at a (possibly disinterested) third site?

$ host 67.228.174.170
170.174.228.67.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer nepras.net.

So the ip is allocated to nepras. It still doesn't mean that they are not hosted on a third site, but most probably nepras is in charge of that ip address (or better said of the machine which uses that ip address). So there is a strong chance that they know about each other's existence on the same machine.

I am glad all the doctors and medical professionals are weighing in. Even as a lay person, it not only looked fake but not even staged well!

my favorite part of the CNN clip is when Mads points to the monitor and shakes his head!

Atrocious acting on his behalf. I mean what person would do a thing like that except someone who was trying to illustrate a point or act out a scene.

Apparently Mads hasn't got mad acting skills.

Hmmm. WorldNF.tv resolves to IP 67.228.174.170. Also sharing that IP is alaqsa-online.net. What more do you need?

CNN apparently has learned NOTHING about RatherGate.

They are actually trying to defend this obvious fraud that they broadcast. They truly have doubled down on stupid.

I can guarantee you that in CNN's Standards and Practices handbook (and like CBS News they have one) there probably is a line in there which says "CNN will not broadcast any scene which appears staged, reproduced or reenacted."

So, the next step for LGF is finding that CNN handbook on standards and practices.

Secondly. Its time for Surgeon General-nominee Dr. Sanjay Gupta and to answer for this obvious fraud.

Now I doubt Dr. Gupta had anything to do with this, but President-elect Obama chose Dr. Gupta to be the nation's surgeon general for the most part based on the reputation of Dr. Gupta's work at CNN and CNN's heretofore previously unblemished reputation for broadcasting factual news, especially on the topic of public health.

Dr. Gupta should answer this question during his Senate confirmation:

"Dr. Gupta, President-elect Barack Obama has submitted your nomination the United States Senate as Surgeon General of the United States. Your credentials for such a position are primarily based upon your sterling work as Chief Medical Correspondent for the Cable News Network, and the news credibility of your network around the globe.

Now, your network has broadcast video which appears to show an obvious staged pantomine of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR as part of a story involving the alleged death of a 12 year old child in the Gaza strip. Your network is standing by this video as authentic and not staged, however it felt compelled to REMOVE that particular segment as part of the video after bloggers and others began questioning it.

In your opinion, seeing today this full segment, and as a Doctor, neurosurgeon, and as Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN, is this the proper way to perform CPR?"

"If it is not, does it appear faked? Can you tell us today as CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent WHY it withdrawn, without a correction or explanation?"

"If you believe that this is a staged event, why did it appear on your network? Can you tell us today whether you would stand behind this piece today as a journalist as being accurate?"

Can you also understand the embarrassment we would have as Senators in confirming you as Surgeon General if it later came out that this particular piece of video YOUR network showed was determined to be faked and you told us as a doctor and a journalist it was accurate?"

If CNN doesn't retract this video, Dr. Gupta should not be confirmed as Surgeon General, as he is willing to stand by an obvious fraud by his employer. CNN may unwittingly be pulling down Dr. Gupta as Surgeon General nominee, and contributing to yet another black eye for President elect Barack Obama.

Hamas just announced that there was no chance of a deal with Israel.

Like this is news to MSN? OOPS! CNN has their back. OOPS! Suspect video? Not to worry, Jimmy Carter will explain all to all as all will be all.

Well, not much more. <sarcasm>On the other hand, this alaqsa-online.net (via google's translator engine) seems to be a very balanced news source... </sarcasm>

And for all of the readers of this blog, here is an almost flying pig moment:

And why is it an almost flying pig moment? New York Times.

Starbucks didn't succeed in Israel and pulled out.

Isn't it funny about the calls to boycott of Israel. I never hear of a desire to destroy all personal computers- Intel is very active in Israel with some of its main research done there.

Come-on anti Israel scumbags, throw out your Israeli/Jew infested PC's, laptops and Intel Macs.

Imagine what a better place the Internet would be.

They wouldn't do that, because they'd lose a way to "speak truth to power" or some shit like that...

If Sanjay Gupta is good enough for the ONE, why can't CNN consult with their medical correspondent?

How sad

Charles, you need to correct this post. As a commenter to my site has noted -- posting from Amsterdam -- Mads Gilbert obviously says the CPR was legitimate.

How many people - how much of the country - know about this fakery? If the MSM doesn't cover it, how many people, really can we, as bloggers, reach, assuming we all link to this and try to spread the word? You would think the competing networks would be all over this.

Please don't forget the other boy on the roof. His name was Achmed. We know nothing about Achmed except that he also died that day. Nobody wants to talk about Achmed, we don't even have a death certificate, but he died. I know he died because the story said so.
