Gaza's True 'Disproportion'

Tel Aviv's critics -- from whom an anti-Semitic stench often rises -- do not say whether Israel should increase its quota of cadavers or if it must reduce the Arabs' quota to achieve the reasonable proportion of blood that will soothe the peculiar itch for parity that afflicts them. Nor do they specify the morally permissible number of casualties to end the rain of rockets that for years has been constantly falling on the heads of Israeli civilians.

RTWT, it's short, to the point.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh indicated Monday night that he was willing to discuss a truce.

That means they are losing and need a hudna to regain their strength, re-arm, and train some 6 year olds to fight.

Evil = firing rockets
Evil x 100* = firing at civilians
Evil x 100 x 2 = doing it during a 'cease' fire
Evil x 100 x 2 x 10 = the cease fire was because your enemy agreed to get food and medicine to you
Evil x 100* x 2 x 10 x 100* = intentionally firing from a location that endangers the lives of your own innocents.

*on a scale of 1-100

Is there a better way of saying it than really, really, really, really evil?

It's a strategy, one in which the MSM is complicit in.

Hamas sets up a offensive military unit in a protected zone, in this case the UN School, this a a WAR CRIME. They will persist in doing so until the IDF responds.

The IDF response is legal, the WAR CRIME is on the side of Hamas violating protected zones. The IDF response is moral, as self defense always is. The response is required by a legitimate government to protect it's citizens.

The MSM is complicit in a WAR CRIME by only publicizing the IDF response, never mentioning the legal, moral and required nature of the response or the WAR CRIME of Hamas in placing a military unit in a protect zone.

The MSM is guilty of aiding, abetting, encouraging, WAR CRIMES by the failure to correctly, accurately report the facts.

Until other world leaders start calling for it, you are right not to expect an "unconditional surrender." But that's what's needed to completely discredit Hamas and - perhaps - give the region a chance for a lasting reconciliation, IMO.

I'm not making a prediction on how the current hostilities will play out, but my point is that if you truly want peace, a 'ceasefire' is pointless. It just gives the savages a chance to rearm. We've been down that path too often to be fooled again. No more 'cease-fires.' Demand unconditional surrender or the military pressure should continue. A cease-fire just prolongs the misery.

85 Ayatollah Ghilmeini  Mon, Jan 12, 2009 12:12:09pm

MEMRI: Islamic Scholar Yusef Qawadari:

"The Jews have lived as dhimmis in our land for a long time, and no Muslim violated the covenant with them. They were free, and were among the richest people of the nation. It reached the point that the Muslims envied them. They were close to the sultans, the kings, and the rulers of those times. Despite this, they were not faithful to the [covenant]. When they were banished from Europe, they found no compassionate bosom, no cave to shelter them, except for the lands of Islam. It was the Ottoman Empire, the Mameluke state, and the Islamic countries that received them with open arms, [and] gave them shelter and protection – but when [the Jews] gained influence, they turned their backs on them, and we have become their victims."

"We Wait for the Revenge of Allah to Descend Upon Them [i.e. the Jews] – And, Allah Willing, It Will Be By Our Own Hands"

"This is one of the peculiarities of our times. The nation upon which abasement and humiliation was inflicted, and which drew the wrath of Allah – the people most covetous of life – we have become their victims. The cowards have grown bold in their attitude towards us, the weak and humiliated have grown strong in their dealings with us. The small birds in our land have turned into eagles, and the sheep have turned into wolves that devour us. What has befallen our nation?!

Dear Imam Qawadari,

You are the problem with the Islamic world.

You just gave a big speech on al Jazeerah and none of your facts are right. You may think the Jews were free under Islam but your idea of freedom was centuries of horrid abuse and mistreatment. Muslims would kill Jews for sport and Jews were powerless to resist. The only reason Jews attained any place in Islamic society is we always valued education, the Islamic world doesn't so when Islamic leaders needed someone smart and trustworthy, they brought in a Jew. Plus, Jews feared for their very lives every minute they worked for the tyrants- the slightest failing meant torture or death for the Jew and his whole family; there's Islamic society for you in a nutshell.

The Arab world's goodbye to us was special too, thinking their sheer numbers would collapse the newly founded state of Israel, you stole their property and booted them to Israel to die in the next war or fail.

Your next factual error, not many Jews fled from Europe to the Islamic world over the ages. You guys had done such a special job in the areas of human development, that only a few Jews came east to avoid the inquisition.

So far, your call for our destruction has not been heard on high. Perhaps you might consider that the Creator that made the Jewish people and made them the only people to be displaced form their land, survive and return, not once, but twice, might have a plan for us different than your own.

So now you call for our utter destruction and annihilation. I must assume that this planned war crime is permitted under the Koran as you are reputed to be an expert on the subject. The fact as few Palestinian civilians as possible have died in the fight means nothing. Nowhere in Koran does it absolve people of the moral responsiblity for their actions, yet you are silent about Hamas calls and efforts to murder Jews with rockets. It must be OK for Muslims to do that; well under Israeli and Jewish Law, we have a right to defend ourselves.

We are left with the choice of following our ancient laws and morals, the ones you claim your Koran "perfects," or we can kneel at your feet and live like dogs subservient to an Islamic world who revere you as intelligent, learned and moral, when, in fact, you are neither. You are a fraud and we both know it. How sad that you are regarded as one of the great modern sages of modern Islam. I think of the countless lives your ideas will ruin and thank the Creator for making me Jewish and restoring us to our ancient homeland to save the Muslim and Jewish worlds.

Regards and love to your wives,

Ghilmeini

A retreating army is still a target. It can regroup, and inflict damages.
It is a target until the white flag goes up, and arms go down.

While the video is predictable, the comments are just what we've talked about here for more than a year. The commenters aren't calling for laws to be enforced, they are calling for "Christian Europe" to stand up. Bad stuff is on the way.

It takes a certain level of obliviousness to continue loading up launchers with combat aircraft orbiting overhead. One can only assume that the Hamasholes on the launcher crew believed that (as always) their god would not allow them to fail.

I hereby nominate them for a Darwin Award. They clearly failed the test of evolution.

For those of you that have some time:

I just got an email forwarded to a friend of mine in Israel (it was in Hebrew so it is no good to copy/paste). Apparently, there is significant effort to kick out the IDF channel from YouTube. So the IDF channel has asked everyone who has an interest in seeing these kinds of IDF combat videos of strikes on weapons-infected mosques and schools as shown above, to please subscribe to the IDF YouTube channel and also to give good "recommendations" (only if you like it, of course! :-)

Thanks. Here is the link:

re: #80 jwb7605

Husband said yesterday that the IDF showed footage of a munitions dump that the air force decided NOT TO BOMB because there was collateral damage possibility (ie: "civilians") right beside it, and they thought that showed their humanity. So, Israelis on the 'talk backs' are going crazy because that means THOSE BOMBS ARE GOING TO BE USED ON ISRAELIS. So, in their non-reciprocal attempt to 'save civilian lives', the IDF is saying Israeli lives are worth less. It's maddening!

re: #94 WriterMom

NO CEASE FIRE TILL NO HAMAS.

I disagree, because "no Hamas" is not a realistic goal. They are a 'guerrila' organization in the sense that most of them cannot be identified from civilians most of the time.

I do think a public surrender -- hopefully unconditional -- would work. That prevents them from "saving face", which weakens them in the public eye, and would eventually destroy them.
Until the survivors rename themselves, of course.

The infamous "Highway of Death" consisted mostly of empty destroyed vehicles.

In Afghanistan, I read that our standard practice with Taliban supply convoys was to halt the convoy, remove all the drivers and other personnel, and only then blow up the trucks.

Clearly an action like this puts American lives more at risk than just bombing the convoys from the air.

We risk our lives to save the lives of our enemy, and still we are accused of being the 'worst' offenders for war crimes.

If the UN wasn't so determined to be "enablers" ( I hate using SocSci buzzwords, but no other definition fits) Hamas would have been out of business years ago. Not to mention Fatah, etc.

The only thing more unreal than the UN thinking that Hamas are the victims is their belief that doing more of what they've done up to now will bring "peace".

Whatever part of the General Assembly aren't either sympathizing with or intimidated by the various Palestinian groups seems to be so far removed from reality that , in Ronald Reagan's words re the Democrats, they've "left the understandable universe".

I live in the DC area too, and when I cross into Virginia from Maryland it is almost like I travel into the Middle East, especially if I go to the expensive shopping malls at Tysons Corner. I have a nice story on how I was yelled at by a Commonwealth of Virginia employee who had on a burka so that I couldn't even see her eyes (there was some kind of screen over her face so I couldn't see anything--and she was working in a public office!).

I was in line, she called out "Next please" and I went to her, and she began yelling at me that she meant the other guy. I told her I couldn't see where she was looking because something was covering her eyes.

Then she proceed to yell and scream in the office building that I was a racist, and that I shouldn't make any comments about her clothing.

I yelled back at her that I really couldn't see who she was looking at.

Go figure.

And you can bet those 'civilians' were there to prevent that munitions dump from being blown up by the Israelis. That dump SHOULD have been hit, and innocent Israelis might well be killed in the future because it wasn't hit. Since when was the life of your enemy worth more than your own life? If that is your calculus, then you've lost before you even begin.

Shouldn't they show us they are the proud fighters who shell Israeli civilians? Who made fun of Shalit by claiming he was crying for his mommy?

Where is their courage? And where is Nasrallah of Hezballah to help them who says a lot and hides like a coward?

After hundreds of such videos I wonder if it is having any noticeable effect on public opinion? I suppose that YouTube is major publishing option that has not existed in the past and it certainly has a level of exposure as great as that as network news, but do these numbers affect public opinion polls? And what about the one crying Palestinian child? Perhaps if these videos blunt the effect of Arab media efforts it will be enough to give Israel the breathing space to finish what they are starting. Will the US let the UN Security Council force an end to "Cast Lead" (stupid name IMHO) on terms that let Hamas go back to normal firing and rebuilding. In the end I want to see that the sacrifice is not wasted on a sub-par diplomatic solution. As well as the IDF is doing, even 10 causalities are way too many for the limited results so far.
