It has often and confidently been asserted, that man’s origin can never be known: Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.

The National Prayer Service and the Wahhabi Lobby

Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), will deliver a prayer at the National Cathedral during the National Prayer Service on January 21st. The event is part of the festivities for the inauguration of Barack Obama, which occurs January 20. A convert to Islam, Mattson directs the Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary.

ISNA has close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, a radical Islamist group, and was named an un-indicted co-conspirator in U.S. v Holy Land Foundation, a case that uncovered covert financing of the terrorist group Hamas. Since her election as ISNA president in 2006, Mattson's apologias for the radical Wahhabi sect of Islam have gained a much wider audience.

Prayer speaker from group feds link to Hamas

One of the religious leaders invited to address Barack Obama’s inaugural prayer service Wednesday heads an Islamic group named by federal prosecutors as a co-conspirator in a terrorism-fundraising trial in Texas.

Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America, is scheduled to join Christian ministers and Jewish rabbis offering prayers for the new president and his family during a service at the National Cathedral in Washington, organizers announced Friday.

Mattson’s group calls itself “the largest Muslim umbrella organization” in North America. However, in May 2007, federal prosecutors included ISNA on a list of nearly 300 co-conspirators filed in a criminal case charging that the Holy Land Foundation of Richardson, Texas, funneled more than $12 million to Hamas.

The U.S. government designated Hamas as a terrorist group in 1995.

Where's the outrage?

/and Rick Warren is a problem?

I'd like to get folks take on this. Remember the woman interviewed who said that when Obama is elected, she won't have to worry about paying her mortgage, buying gas, etc.

Why didn't Obama call her personally and ask her, "What in the fuck are you talking about?!"

I would have had so much more respect for him if he would have knocked some of this bullshit off of the radar.

We have 4 years to fight ignorance with facts and a smarter, better alternative.

Let's hope we stick together and keep up morale amongst ourselves and the loyal opposition in Congress, which will need to be like the IDF.

No on this thread officially, but in the news...

Israel's unilateral cease fire, on their terms, maintaining the troops on their positions and after cutting a deal with the United States to get cooperation and share info, leaves Hamas in a very bad spot.

If they continue attacking Israel the whole world will see that they are the ones provoking war and Israel will resume kickiing the hell out of them.

So they don't leave and Hamas will have to get used to live together with the boys from the IDF, and if Hamas moves, the IDF kicks their assess again.

And Israel is ready to sit at any negotiating table with any party and has lots to negotiate, a withdrawal from Gaza to begin with...

Very smart fellows!

Repost from an earlier thread: (I always seem to post at the very end of the thread)

If you truly want to boycott the MSM it is very easy to do right from your home. Just activate the Parental Control on your TV or Cable Box! Select the MSM channels you don't want to watch and you won't be seeing them even when you're surfing.

But, if you keep yourself completely in the dark by never watching the MSM, you will not ever "Know Thy Enemy". I believe it is very important to be aware of what the MSM is saying so that we can refute all the lies.

Also, if you do elect to cast out the MSM with the parental controls, ask a neighbor or moonbat friend to put in the 4 digit code. Then you won't be tempted to go back!

The unilateral Israeli ceasefire will start at 2:00am i.e. in 30 minutes.

At that point, we will see whether or not Hamas fires any more missiles.

If Hamas holds its fire then there will be a ceasefire. If not, then Israel will resume killing Hamas.

Either way, Israel will continue to be vilified by MSM/EU/UN for anything that benefits Israel or harms Hamas.

OK, got to vent. Been planning my kids birthday party for 2 weeks. We did Chuck E Cheese because she's 7 and thats a big deal for her. It was fine and she had a great time. What pisses me off are the parents. Invites went out 2 weeks ago and not one of them RSVPd or called. The first parent arrived with the daughter who we invited, plus her 5 brothers whom dont even go to the same school and their present still had the Christmas labels on it from the clothes they were regifting from their daughter. 2 other parents showed up in the last 20 minutes wondering where the pizza and gift bags were and disappeared as soon as I told them they missed them. 2 others were complete no shows, no impact, no idea. What the hell happened to common courtesy and at least a simple voice or email saying "Sorry, cant make it". Luckily, the party place lets you reserve at a minimum and can add folks as the show up, but still pisses me off.

Tacky doesn't begin to describe it. Sadly, hosts have to resort to calling non-repliers for an RSVP.

Why does evolutionary theory continually need to be propped up? Is it be because the majority of evidence is soft and has inadequately answered the questions about major changes (novel parts and functionality) and minor changes (color, etc.)? The convenient answer is that given enough time minor changes magically transform to major. That's not science, it's wishful thinking.

Is it be because the majority of evidence is soft and has inadequately answered the questions about major changes (novel parts and functionality) and minor changes (color, etc.)? The convenient answer is that given enough time minor changes magically transform to major. That's not science, it's wishful thinking.

Just keep telling yourself that. Is the kool-aid good?

The fact that your daughter is happy makes up for everything. I completely sympathize with you, but the freeloaders were a blessing in disguise.

I'd rather she was happy because her friends decided to show up and wish her a happy birthday instead to a bunch of freeloaders showing up to mooch at the price of a song and recycled presents. I'm happy she had a nice day and glad she is too young to realize what happened.

Anyone got the link or know the title of this video. I'd sure like a copy on file. It sums up much of his campaign.

Eh, but to those who hold it, it's not demonstrably false, because their criteria for demonstration differ from our own. Consequently, counter-examples and demonstrations don't work, because their validity is not recognized.

Imagine, if you will, that you are confronted with a person who says that the white pages is the sole source of information on who lives where. If the name ain't in the phonebook, the person don't exist. You can drag the person right up in front of 'em, but if their name ain't in the book, then something's fishy.

heres a classic worthy of down dings

A guy walks in and sits down at the end of the bar. Just a few
seats down from him, there is a very buxom blonde with huge

size 44DD breasts.

The guy orders a beer. The bartender fills the mug and slides it

down the bar. It hits the lady's boobs and splashes all over them.

The bartender goes over, retrieves the mug and licks the beer off

the blonde..

Each time he calls for a beer, this happens. So after his third beer,
he decides to help the bartender out. The next time the bartender

hits her boobs, the man jumps up and starts to lick her breasts...

AND SHE DECKS HIM!.
He's laying on the floor moaning and groaning, 'Jeez...then why
do you let the bartender do it?'

'Because,' says the blonde, 'he has a licker license!'

Oh really? Then please explain to us Bose-Einstein Condensate implosions.

Oh.. that is an easy one.

S. Bose and A. Einstein walked into a bar one night after a hard day in front of the chalkboard. Einstein ordered a pint of fine chilled lager, Bose ordered some room temperature brandy. After a few minutes Bose noticed that Albert's pint was sweating on the outside, while his own brandy glass remained dry. Oh.. that is an easy one.

S. Upon seeing this, Bose announced to Einstein that Indians had more culture than the Germans because Indians drank more elegant liquids. Upon hearing this, Albert picked up his pint and smashed it into Bose's head, imploding his skull. Physics hasn't been the same since.

I noticed the phenomenon (not necessarily from Hot Air or Ace) at about the time McCain was nominated as Prez candidate.
Things got worse when McCain selected Palin as VP candidate. My view was a RINO had selected a true conservative who could credibly be called a "Religious Extremist" (given the choice to keep Trig alive, etc). I decided to support McCain because of the VP choice (the primary reason was not because she decided to keep Trig alive).

Got any particular examples of what you mean?

It's Obama week at Starbucks, so the moonbats will be happy:

Starting next week, Starbucks is giving a free, large cup of coffee to its customers. It’s all in honor of President-elect Barack Obama’s historic inauguration and his plea to get more people involved in community service and volunteer work.

In exchange for a hot beverage of your choice, Starbucks is asking customers to sign a pledge card promising they will volunteer for five hours this year. The goal of the effort is to raise pledges in excess of one million hours of service from all over the country.

The "I’m In" campaign starts January 21 and runs until January 25.

At about 1:15 they appear to be shooting at a helicopter and there seems to be something around the corner. Note the use of human shields (many appear to be children).

They sent the children out into the street to point out where the helicopter was, while they stayed hidden under trees.

I think it's O'Reilly's way of saying "Look! See! I am Fair and Balanced!"

If I were a conservative commentator I would be bending over backwards to be nice to Obama right now.

If you don't do that, then the leftoids will say, "You were always deranged against the man, even before he started." They will ignore the substance of O'reilly's argument and attack O'reilly instead.

Now, any criticism that is leveled against the Obama regime will be more effective. O'reilly can say, "I tried to give him a chance, but this policy on XXX is just way out of the mainstream."

The leftoids will then have to respond to the substance of O'reilly's arguments.

Make sense?

Most of the ID and creationism folks ignore it when they're points are refuted. They just repeat the same old tired stuff. They tend to whine when Charles puts up an ID thread.

When someone says "evolution is not established science" what's left?

I'm outspoken here about my faith, and my belief in a Creator and His creation. The point made by Charles isn't about beliefs. It's about a group trying to have faith taught as science, and the dishonesty of their efforts. Such thread often degenerate into some arguing that faith can be science, and take the discussion as a personal assault on their faith.

Last summer I was talking to a high school kid and he told me that it was a fact that we evolved from apes, I told him that when I went to the zoo I saw an ape that didn't evolved to anything, the ape was still an ape...his jaw hit the floor, that gave him a lot to think about.

Most posters here are polite enough to not be crass, etc... For myself, I never put the ID/creationists down for their religious beliefs. Rather, it is their insistence on disturbing the waters of the American political and intellectual pools that I resist.

Trying to convince the ID-ers that they are trying to push a particular religious viewpoint over others is a tough sell, as the true believers only see that their view is the only correct one, and thus they overlook the need for the American method of not having the gov't enforce or endorse any particular group's religious doctrine.

The problem is that the best and brightest don't always have the horse sense to recognize that their grand plans just won't work. I want smart people who have busted their knuckles and their butts learning what does work. Nothing wrong with the best and the brightest being in leadership. Just remember Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. It takes more than intellect to be a good leader. It takes some integrity and fortitude also.
I am also skeptical of the message of "Vote for me, I am smarter than you."

It may not mean you got a virus, it may mean your HD is failing. That doesn't have to happen instantaneously. The heads lose precision and have trouble reading sectors, but they try and may succeed for a time.

Backup and order a replacement for $100 or so. That can be a pain if you don't want to do a full HD backup/restore because you will have to reinstall all your systems and all the system service packs etc, but on the plus side you will lose all the dust bunnies you have accummulated the past years.

That certainly works, and relieves stress! Other than making sure the hard disks are wiped clean (digitally shredded) there's not much to worry about. Many local places take them for disposal or refurbishment. If you don't want wanton destruction, you can plug the hard drives into another PC and run shredder programs on them or write them full of junk files and delete repeatedly.

If they're older and smaller (under 40gb) I'd go the hammer route. Messy but strangely satisfying.

Some random thoughts as I "Bleach" my Brains Tonight.

1. Watched the HAMAS video - AND - can FULLY understand the impulse to defend one's neighborhood, however ill advised.

2. I FULLY understand the Second Zionism of the "Palestinians." As unwarranted as it is.

3. I look forward to THE IDEA of an "African - American" becoming "POTUS."
Of B. Hussein Obama - NOT SO MUCH. He represents the Politics which I abandoned 25 Years Ago.

Jimmah- I've been using MaxSecure. It's not free- it's about $30 American, but you do get what you pay for. After running three other scans that found no problems with my computer, MaxSecure found 95 issues with spyware and trojans.

I don't trust any of them. It is too easy to find a few "problems" and then pretend they are significant. Most ISPs offer free virus protection, and I haven't had a virus issue in 10 years, but I don't buy software from the Chinese at 1 cent on the dollar either, and then there are those alluring "check out my pics" emails, so I suggest that if one really has a virus (as opposed to hardware problem) one keeps it to oneself.

"Akhenaten is principally famous for his religious reforms, in which the polytheism of Egypt was to be supplanted by a monotheism centered on Aten, the god of the solar disc. As most of his reforms were introduced with force, and disturbed the balance of power and influence, they were met with strong resistance, and had no lasting influence"

It would help if we gave people a reason to vote for us instead of reasons to vote against the other party.

Agree something must be done about what's going on with the indoctrinating of our children by the education establishment, but until conservatives get off their butts and get actively involved, not much is going to change.

As if that would magically solve the problem anyways. No- republicans need to get involved locally with the school board and PTA. That would go a long way. Most of what happens in education takes place locally- not in Washington.

Here's the caliber of man whose untreated illness will ensure that BB gets his nice police state and praetorian guard:

[Link: www.alien-earth.org...]

[Video]And yet, why should they fight?

This is why EVERY president needs secret service protection. It's not a praetorian guard unless and until it grows side branches that run businesses or field regular ground forces, as with the Iranian Republican Guards or the Nazi SS. Or, for that matter, the Roman Imperial Praetorian Guard.

As to that whack job, if he's so sympatico with us lizards, how come he's writing stuff that fits in so well with the self-styled antifascists of today:

It is unclear if he was living in Mississippi or just visiting. No hometown was given.

He used his chat-room postings to also solicit funds for bus fare to Washington, D.C., authorities said.

"And I'll need a leak in the secret service to get a close up shot, somewhere close to the podium, since I've never fired a gun, so I need to an easy shot off," Christopher was quoted as saying. "Wattdysay fellas? Any help?"

I think there's something to be said for some uniform standards, and that's where the feds can claim they have a role. I think the problems in education have less to do with the DoE and more to do with the teacher's unions. When we can't get rid of bad teachers our kids, this country, and the future of both suffer.

If I had the ability to abolish one or the other- I'd pick the unions every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

it always bugged me when doctors tell patients - you'll never walk again - you'll never this or that.

I also lament the slow torturous death of Terri Shiavo. Drugs are being developed to bring people back from vegetative state - and who knows what else could be accomplished with stem cells.

I'm all for science, but I am also skeptical because over the course of my life...i remember when it was "common knowledge" that you never grow more brain cells after a certain age - now we know that is incorrect.
