Atlas Shrugs’ Pamela Geller Suddenly Outraged About Flogging

Pat Condell’s videos always get a good response at LGF, and since the so-called “anti-jihad movement” is currently melting down into a stinky puddle of white supremacism as leading writers and bloggers—including Geert Wilders, apparently—make alliances with European fascist groups, here’s a reminder that Condell’s position on this kind of revolting nonsense is closely aligned with ours. From a video Condell posted in 2007:

And by the way, this has got nothing to do with immigration. Let me make this very clear. I welcome immigration to Britain, I think that within reason it’s a healthy thing for the economy, I think it’s a good thing for the country.

This is about religion, and only about religion. So, to any white supremacist morons out there who think that they can latch on to this video in the way they’ve attempted to with some of my previous videos, go and take a piss on a live electric rail. Because I’m not your friend, I’m your enemy, and I’m proud to be your enemy. Just as I’m proud to be the enemy of every creepy Islamofascist on this planet, because you people are two sides of the same coin. And it’s an evil, worthless, poisonous currency that I want nothing to do with.

Well said, as always.

And speaking of bloggers who are pushing the fascist agenda, Pamela Geller posted something on Saturday, outraged about a sheikh who called for Geert Wilders to be “flogged.”

Remember, this is the woman who recently called for me to be “publicly flogged,” because I won’t sign up with the fascists she’s shilling for, particularly the Belgian Vlaams Belang.

And now, she’s deleted the post about Geert Wilders, obviously realizing it made her look like an addled hypocrite.

Here’s the Google cache of the page that’s no longer on her blog: Atlas Shrugs: New York Sheikh Khalid Yasin in speech in Holland: Wilders must be flogged.

The Muslims are out of control. OUT OF CONTROL. Can we, in the West, stop sucking our thumbs and fight back. …

Khalid Yasin: “Wilders Should Be Flogged”

Khalid Yasin, the sheikh who shook down Australia a few years ago, is visiting the Netherlands. In his latest speech, he says that Geert Wilders should be flogged for his crimes.

Isn’t that hate speech? Shouldn’t he be prosecuted for his racism and kafirophobia?

Well, is it hate speech? Here’s Geller wishing the same fate upon me; should she be prosecuted?

Atlas Shrugs: SWEDEN SOCIAL DEMOCRATS’ JEW HATING RALLY UNDER HEZBALLAH FLAG VLAAMS BELANG TAKES ACTION TO HALT JEW HATING DEATH MARCHES

And to think the transatlantic counter jihad movement lost a year because the lizard asshat was on a mission to destroy and smear Europe’s only political party that has stood staunchly with Israel - Vlaams Belang (and, just for knowing, the VB have made statements condemning the anti-Jewish attacks in Belgium). Chuck should be publicly flogged.

Hypocrisy thy name is Geller.

I don't think she should be prosecuted for hate speech, this is the US after all, where you are free to hate, free to be an idiot.

On the other hand some of the anti-jihadi's who post there and moby here like to tread the line between free speech and dangerous speech. Dangerous speech is when you call for violence. Isn't that what Pam Geller is doing figuratively?

I would not assume she realizes it. I think somebody told her that they think it makes her look bad, and she took the post down while she thinks about it. She may be crazy enough to put it back.

Pam wants who she sees as her enemies flogged, whether this be those criticising Geert Wilders, or this be Charles Johnson for standing up and questioning her associations with fascists.

Pam is disgusting for having chosen sides with the fascists even though those fascists are no better than the Islamtists she claims to oppose. You cannot fight fascism with fascism and expect to end up free.

Good for you, Pat Condell!
As Cattt said below - he's my favourite atheist as well.

As for the so-called 'anti-jihadists', who in reality are white supremacists - shame on you.

Its an interesting time we're living in right now. On the one hand we have finally seen the mask drop from the faces of so mani crypto-antisemites, thanks to Israel's war on Hamas, on the other we see the crystallisation of white su[premacism, dropping their mask of anti-jihadism.

Dunno why this should happen at more or less the same time, I'm just stating the fact that it is happening.

31 mean Gene  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 11:25:03am

True purists, like Geert, who will not compromise even to save themselves from prison will find Islamist extremists, the liberal media and many of the average Joe's rally to seek them out for proper punishment...or in the USA's case...re-education.

I wish Wilders would distance himself completely from the neo-fascists. To the extent his struggle against radical Islam is the last line of defense against Europe being taken over, I am inclined to trust Wilders but distrust his allies. Typically, the good guy gets in bed with the bad until the bad can take over. Perhaps Geert will remain Geert and nothing will ever undermine his spirit. But you don't know until it happens.

The man is the living breathing fighting soul of any hope for Europe. He has no friends. No one speaks out for a man speaking truth. Oddly the Gaza war seems to have awoken something in some Europeans. From the BBC canning the Hamas fundraiser to EU Aid man Louis Michel exclusively blaming Hamas, the naked racism and ant-antisemitism evoked by Gaza War I, seems to have inspired some to come forward.

Geert Wilders is an imperfect vessel, there are no perfect vessels; I support Geert Wilders. You should too!

I could understand if some of the people who support VB, et al said that sometimes we need to ally with someone distasteful, in order to defeat a common enemy, much like the free world allied with Stalin in WWII. Then, they'd be watching their backs and be careful. I don't think we need them yet, though.

But here, they are complete apologists for these would-be Nazis, and argue that there is nothing wrong with them. And then they go nuts when someone says otherwise.

Support him - sure. Up to the point where he crawls into bed with white supremacists. It ought to be clear, especially to a Dutchman, that nothing good comes from such an association.
The Dutch, after all, still have not forgiven the Germans for occupying their country. So Geert Wilders' stance is a bit puzzling to me.

As far as I'm concerned, there simply are some lines which cannot be crossed if one wants to be able to look at oneself in the mirror in the morning.

One is antisemitism - the others are fascism, racism and communism: anything which deliberately devalues another human being.

IIRC, Pat has had some harsh things to say about all religions, and some of them have probably been harsher than reality would merit.

I refer of course, to religions other than Islam. Pat could easily get far harsher on Islam without getting anywhere near what it deserved; but I think his current level of snarkiness is probably best.

Where does she get off saying that VB stands staunchly with Israel? Is she really this deluded?

The only reason VB shows any kind of quasi-support for Israel, that I can figure, is they need a place to ship off all Teh Joooz after they round them up and deport them all from Flanders.

Got to have the right people breeding. Free contraception would go mostly to poor, inner cities and minorities, cutting down on people taking advantage of welfare and being a tax burden. People paying $10k for sperms and egss are obviously productive tax payers and should be encouraged to have more children.

Wish I was kidding, but that is their logic.

It is. And minorities - especially African Americans - are aborted way out of proportion to the population as a whole. Remember last year, when Planned Parenthood was stung on a telephone call where the guy said he wanted to donate for AA abortions only and was told that was acceptable? But are they racist? Ohhh, no - so they say. Humph.

We didn't have a choice in that one. No way we could have won if we didn't.

Technically speaking, we didn't choose to ally ourselves with Stalin.

The USSR originally agreed to sit out the conflict (the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact), with the Nazis and the Soviets splitting up Eastern Europe between them. It was only when the Nazis broke the agreement (the first and only treaty that the Soviets didn't break, and only because Hitler beat them to it) that Stalin was placed on the other team.

So it was Germany that decided that Russia would join the forces fighting against it; it wasn't something we chose.

I am sorry to read of this and to see the adversarial position which has developed between Charles and Pamela. Admittedly all people will never agree on all things. I remember when she used to post here in the early years and Charles was a mentor and somewhat of a role model for her in her getting started with her own blog. She has a lot to say that is worth listening to and is a far greater friend than enemy. It pains me to see everyone just jump on and start kicking. No, I do not agree with all her positions nor do I share all of her opinions. However, I am not always in lockstep with Charles either.

This commenter over there sums it up the best regarding her cozying up to fascists

A racially motivated fascist enemy of our enemies is still a racially motivated fascist. The VB and the BNP "are" racially motivated fascists imho. If they're successful in the battle against Islam their next target will be Judaism just like it's been in Europe for centuries. They're targeting the biggest threat to the ideology first. If they're lucky and win you'll be next..!

Where does she get off saying that VB stands staunchly with Israel? Is she really this deluded?

The only reason VB shows any kind of quasi-support for Israel, that I can figure, is they need a place to ship off all Teh Joooz after they round them up and deport them all from Flanders.

VB are opportunistic sunsabitches. Until 2000 it was their propaganda shops that printed the "don't buy Jewish" stickers that used to appear on Jewish merchant windows in Antwerp. Until then they printed posters for their youth groups stating:
"Revisionisme is geen misdaad" (Revisionism is no crime)

re: #130 JamesTKirk

Technically speaking, we didn't choose to ally ourselves with Stalin.

The USSR originally agreed to sit out the conflict (the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact), with the Nazis and the Soviets splitting up Eastern Europe between them. It was only when the Nazis broke the agreement (the first and only treaty that the Soviets didn't break, and only because Hitler beat them to it) that Stalin was placed on the other team.

So it was Germany that decided that Russia would join the forces fighting against it; it wasn't something we chose.

Yes. That is one difference in this case; VB and others never were allied with Islamists. But I have a feeling that they consider us the way the Nazis considered the Soviet Union - an ally to be turned against when it is convenient. (Well, they are wannabe Nazis, so it figures.)

Well, you guys can't conceal much anyway. You got no pockets.

Starfleet removed the pockets from all uniforms so that I could no longer use the line "So, do you think I've got a Type II Phaser in my pocket, or am I just happy to see you?"

I made the mistake of trying that line out on an Admiral's daughter.

And what pissed the Admiral off... is that the line worked.

Hamas wartime rockets missed US anti-Iranian missile radar near Beersheba

[Link: www.debka.com...]

But the American radar facility at Nevatim also kept Washington abreast of Israel's aerial, naval and missile activity in the course of the conflict. It was the first time the US knew what was going on in an Israel-Arab battle arena without recourse to outside electronic tracking devices.

Those last 2 sentences are very interesting. I know it's from Debka, but, it is food for thought?

i'd wonder if the person who wrote that had even the vaguest clue about the subject. at first glance, a radar designed to track OTH threats from one direction is not likely to be good at tracking local targets in a different one.

Oops. Sorry, my bad.

(But, gee, it really did happen ya know.)

If they had a centralized database, some where, attached to a record, an entry of information, a note whatever, attached to that would be some sort of location code, so, you could have something like this...

ID Location Data

1 A Hello world
1 B Hello world

If "person" 1 at location B some how entered the data with a location code "A," then the record would seem to be a duplicate.

I made this really simple, but I think it could explain what you saw. How "B" became "A" could be a longer dialog, but that's sort of the short version.

hmmm...The author of the text, "Anatomy of Fascism" (Robert Paxton) repeatedly mentions how everyone back in the late 20s, early 30s, was convinced that the Fascists could be co-opted. So, the German aristocracy was thinking, "heh, no sweat, the Austrian Corporal is a joke and can be easily manipulated." That was the thinking -- Fascists can be co-opted and turned from a radical fringe to the mainstream...It did not work. Shall we now have history repeat itself, once again, by having the anti-Jihad movement believing that they can co-opt neo-Fascists? (that's the first step down the road to disaster...Paxton in the text, "Anatomy of Fascism", analyzes the stages of Fascist movements...so, it's creating the movement, having it take root, gaining power, then exercising power...each stage is different as it progresses, with different goals, agendas, etc.)

It's the sign of appearing to do something. It's the appearance of looking engaged in a problem or doing something that hasn't been tried in a couple of years, as though that will somehow be the silver bullet to solve the fact that Hamas seeks nothing less than genocide of Israel, but the diplomats will continue to put shiny happy faces on that, by saying that they might buy into a short term hudna if Hamas gets what it wants. Hamas gets Israel off its back for a bit, diplomats cheer for the lack of noticable rocket attacks (only noticing when Israel fires back and hits the terrorists involved), and Israel's security gets taken down another notch.

We did actually chose them as an Ally as soon as we started sending them about 40 gazillion dollars of lend lease stuff. At that point me made a specific choice of them as our allies. After that part was done, the rest was just a matter of fluff.

The Red Army destroyed a lot of German troops and tanks on the Eastern Front that we didn't have to fight in France, Italy, etc. Had Hitler never gone to war against Stalin, or had the Germans forced an early end to Russian participation in the war because the Russians lacked the aid sent to them by Britain and the US, we might well have wound up with a negotiated peace treaty that left Germany in control of Europe.

I haven't had Hydrox in years--you don't see 'em much--but my recollection is that they are not quite as sickeningly sweet as Oreos. Hydrox, btw, was kosher for many years when Oreos were still made with lard and, hence, not kosher.

I've always thought "Hydrox" sounded like a Dr. Suess animal, but it was probably designed to sound "scientific and sanitary" back at the start of the 20th century, when names like "Oxydol" and "Listerine" really got going.

hmmm...The author of the text, "Anatomy of Fascism" (Robert Paxton) repeatedly mentions how everyone back in the late 20s, early 30s, was convinced that the Fascists could be co-opted.

No, but should we get into a bigger war, we might make use of them.
But if we think of them as real allies, instead of a third party that will turn on us, then we'll get screwed.

You've got a point, but maybe I'm just more idealistic than I thought, cause I really really wish we'd taken up Patton's offer to continue pushing into the Soviet Union after the war.

Then like now people had tired of war. Patton, McCarthur and Bush are all examples of leaders who tried to rally support for continued conflict but were too far in front of their people and failed.

No, but there are a suspicious number of people here who claim to watch no TV at all, or only reruns of Bonanza perhaps. Not everyone has one or more displays next to the PC and tuned to TV, like Charles.

It's funny. I didn't watch TV at all for about five years (except for the Superbowl). That's when I realized that people make a lot of popular references from TV shows and wonder why you look blank all of a sudden.

Then I found out there was a new Star Trek show (Voyager, in its last season). I needed cable to get reception on it. Once I got cable, I noticed there is a Sci Fi channel.

I still don't watch much at all, though if I find out about a show I'd like, I'll watch it. I watched and LOVED True Blood, for example, after a friend told me she was sure I'd like it.

re: #318 Cattt

That's a good point.

I actually had seen Manhunter years ago on TV. When I read Red Dragon, I thought - I know this story. I did some detective work and found Manhunter and bought a copy. Hence - the crush. I didn't care much for the remake (Red Dragon) - probably because William Peterson wasn't in it.

The book also gives a fairly good munitions lesson... it was the first time I ever heard of Glaser Safe-T-Slugs.

I'm not sure that would've been a good thing. It was due to the space race and cold war that many of today's conveniences were invented. RADAR the microwave oven, PC's... etc, might not exist today if not for the communist menace we were constantly staving off.

I am more concerned with the Islamists destroying western civilization than I am various bloggers' occasional stupid statements. When you speak constantly, something dumb is bound to come out from time to time simply because people are human and become tired and get distracted.

We can't fight Islamist madness with harsh language. The funny thing is, we aren't even allowed to use harsh language! We are supposed to self-censor, lest we be perceived as somehow degenerate (and therefore an unworthy person incapable of producing any valid ideas.) The truth is that many of us believe that we are losing our culture (to the illogic that anything western is white imperialist, racist, colonialist, therefore evil and ultimately deserving of being swept away.)

People like me are terribly frightened because we see the west being denigrated and slowly destroyed.

I don't know how to fight an underground army of hostile agents without even being able to describe this fear or discuss why we feel it.
We are not allowed to critically discuss the culture of Islam or the content of the Koran.

The Islamists, on the other hand, are allowed to call us every sort of disgusting, bestial name. They regularly threaten our very lives and existence.

They have freedom of speech but we do not, apparently.

It's not going to end. And I'm not on the same side as Pamela Geller.

She's supporting fascists. Very bad people. I want nothing to do with them, or her, except to point out when she goes way over the line -- which she did when she called for me to be publicly flogged.

345 skaught  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 12:56:20pm

I don't think I've read Pamel's website more than twice, so I'm not a defender of hers. But I really don't think she meant Charles should be litterally flogged. People really think that is what she meant? I've said certain people should be slapped around before and I certainly never meant anyone should be literally struck. So I don't see her condemnation of a man who we know DOES mean that Wilders should literally be flogged as hypocritical. I think some are being a bit to hypersensitive here, looking to paint those they don't like with whatever negative brush makes itself convenient.

If anything, pamela should have deleted her flogging comment towards Charles and not the one against Mr. Wilders. That she chose to keep her comments about flogging Charles on her blog, and delete the post about Mr. Wilders is very telling.

353 Summer Seale  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 1:08:35pm

Back in the day, I used to read Pamela too.

When she sided with this group of Nazis, Charles made an appeal to her (and the others who did the same) to not cross that line.

Their response, in public, was to call Charles a traitor to the cause.

That's when all hell broke loose. All Charles did was point out the things this group stood for, maybe simply in an attempt to try to stop it short. It appears to me that Pamela, and the others who joined her, have absolutely no way of saying they are ever wrong or sorry. They are incautious and totally self-centered. And now they're allies with Nazis and they are self-deluded enough to think that they aren't.

Charles didn't "start" this. Pamela (and Fjordman among others) totally started this and should seriously not be listened to again until they have shown actual, real, contrition about what they have done and what they defend. It isn't a matter of childish behavior "amongst bloggers", but a serious philosophical divide.

I would not sit down to have a cup of coffee to discuss anything with Pamela today because of what she supports simply for her own self-serving purposes. That has nothing to do with name-calling among bloggers and everything to do with principles we should hold dear.

Charles has those principles, I have those principles, and almost everyone here has them as well. Pamela and others do not. That is why Charles is right to keep pointing it out.

354 nyc redneck  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 1:09:38pm

pamela is confused.
it seems like she is such a zealot, she can not think straight.
she is dangerously naive to think that nazi's could ever change their vicious ideology and now whole heartedly embrace jewish people.
just like that, everything is fine, because they have a common enemy.
when that is all you have in common, you do not have a sound relationship.
trusting nazi's is a dangerous game. their inspiration comes from hitler.

358 Skaught  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 1:17:31pm

I didn't say that was cool with me, nor did I say it was funny or charming. Did I? I don't need to know the history of this "war" to recognize a crude comment made in jest. I just don't believe she was actually suggesting that you should be flogged. Whereas I do believe that Yasin wished such on Wilders. So I don't see it as hypocritical to condemn a real call for flogging. Does this excuse her making a crude comment? Of course not.

359 Hhar  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 1:18:11pm

Oh, Geller deserves all the lampooning she gets, butthe most punishing thing you can do to someonme like her is give them a sense of how trivial they are. There is no way that anyone could demonstrate to her that she's wrong or in error: a person whose arguments can be summarised as as "I have nice tits and I'm smart: therefore you are wrong." just isn't worth spending too much time on.

When I see Islamo-nazis marching in the streets of Ft. REMEMBER...WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE!...FOR CRIPE'S SAKE!
None of us agree on everything...but we most probably do agree for the most part that radical Islam is a scourge that MUST be defeated...one way or the other.

375 madmama  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 1:39:44pm

Summer...
I've been traveling to Europe on a regular basis for the past 16 or so years...and have seen it literally disintigrate in front of my eyes.
There are entire swaths of cities which are now "Muslim no go zones"...never used to be.
Women are completely wrapped up in Burkas (the black, eye covering ones). You would have never seen that even just a few years ago.
It's downright scary and intimidating to go on public transportation or to walk in supposedly 'tourist' areas.
When an altercation breaks out between police and anyone resembling a Muslim...the cell phones are whipped out, and little by little throngs of young, aggressive, Muslim males descend upon the area (it's quite frightening) to start harassing the police.
I've personally met MANY cab drivers who for some reason seem to all come from Iran (they had escaped)...who have denounced Islam...say it's an evil cult.
One had photos under his visor of women and young men being hanged, his wife before and after the 'revolution' in Iran (she had to start wearing the hijab)...I talked to him for quite awhile...all of his family had been shot and killed ...he escaped over the mountains and luckily made it into Europe.
The Europeans are scared shitless...they cannot DO ANYTHING!
They don't want to say anything...there is NO ONE who is willing to stand up against these Muslim invaders.
There will be no peaceful solution to this problem in Europe.
I think these far right parties are gaining strength in Europe because there is no else willing to fight for them...right or wrong...the average European is literally grasping onto anything or anyone who will confront the Islamists.
It's easy to sit here on your computer...and criticize...I doubt you would say that if it was YOU being assaulted by Muslims.

And I have traveled to Europe as well, many times. I have seen it as well. And I still wouldn't touch Nazi trash if I saw it.

The fact is, I'm not Jewish, I'm an atheist who happens to support Israel and the Jewish people for entirely moral and historical reasons. I also happen to defend Western civilization more than anything else. And by never siding with Nazis in Europe, I am defending it, and Jews, more than Pamela is right now.

Siding with these people is not your only choice as a response to Islamization, but it is one of the worst choices you could make. I don't need them to use me as a face for their public relations, the way they use Pamela as their own useful idiot to do their dirty work for them. This is an anti-idiotarian blog. Pamela is as much of a tool of fascism as left-wingers supporting Hamas. I won't tolerate either of those stances because they are the same.

You need to look around you and ask if these people are the ones you want in power when all is said and done. Muslims aren't necessarily my enemy. My enemy is Fascism. Anti-Jewish Fascism from White Supremacists or from Muslims is exactly the same: Evil.

They are both the enemy of all decent people.

392 nyc redneck  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 2:14:47pm

i sometimes cringe when i think abt. how pamela conducts herself.
it's like she thinks the whole thing is some kind of big happy go lucky party.
she likes the hoopla and attention.
and lets that over ride her principles.
the seriousness of the issues here, tho makes her behavior seem childish and self-centered.
and very reckless.

It's more important for pamela to carry on with her vendetta against Charles than it is to support Mr. Wilders.

That speaks volumes about her priorities and principles.

re: #413 hyperion

Perhaps reading this interview with filip dewinter will help you understand the nature of VB's "support" for Israel.

418 mcmeador  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 7:01:06pm
Well said, as always.

I wouldn't go that far. I like the things that Pat Condell has to say in the videos you've posted on here (at least the ones I've seen about Islam), but I'm not that big of a fan of him in general now that I've seen some of his other videos. For instance, in one, he refers to Islam, Christianity, and Judaism as insults to humanity. He's very anti-religion, and I don't appreciate that.

As I've said on here before, I don't really have any firm religious views if any...I guess you could call me an agnostic. But I do take offense when people feel the need to demean people for having religious views. In many of his videos about Islam, he's on the money. His criticisms are rightly targeted at the intolerance and violence it teaches. However, there's no need to go out of your way to insult religion just because it is religion. If someone wants to believe in God and go about their daily lives not harming anyone else, then that's their business and it should be respected.

419 hyperion  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 10:27:48pm

re: #417 Sharmuta

I read the interview, there's nothing about Israel there. I believe Vlaams Belang's public position is that they support the state of Israel and not the Palestinians, or am I wrong?

My second sarcastic point was that if Israel should be a Jewish state, which LGF seems to accept, then why shouldn't the various European peoples have the same right? Is this guy wrong to say that he wants to live in a Flemish state?

420 Sharmuta  Mon, Jan 26, 2009 11:37:20pm

re: #419 hyperion

I'm not sure how much more clear it can be. filip dewinter seems to think people born in Belgium of non-Belgian decent are "guests" and not citizens of the country in which they were born. Just what do you think that means for the Jews of Belgium? Indeed- they "support" Israel because they think of Israel as a place to send their Jews! In their warped, fascists thinking Israel justifies their ethnic nationalism- their support is self-serving.

Indeed, LGF supports the State of Israel, but tell me- what is the ethnicity of an Israeli? You cannot compare Israel with vlaams belang's vision for Flanders. It is just the opposite, and Israel mirrors the United States in this regard. It is a nation of immigrants. I highly doubt you'd hear an Israeli politician saying the grandchild of immigrants is a guest and not a citizen of Israel. In short- Israel is inclusive, while ethnic nationalism, like what the VB promotes, is exclusionary.

And no one at LGF has ever said the europeans don't have the right to self-determination in governing their affairs. But when they want to use ethnicity as the measurement, then we're on a familiar road that leads to ugliness. We have seen this before in europe, and only misery will come of it.

re: #420 Sharmuta

Israel is not modeled on the US, and Israeli citizenship laws are totally different from those of the US. You seem to be confused about the meaning of the word "ethnic." Jewish is not just a religion, but an ethnic group. Israel is a nation intended not for any immigrants, but only for Jewish immigrants. Israel will indeed include you as an immigrant, but only if you are of Jewish background--it's a one-quarter rule, I believe. They will not naturalize you generally without this ethnic background. So I'm sorry to say, you are either very confused about Israeli politics or about ethnic identity, or you are lying. Israel is a nation founded for the Jewish ethnic group, and Vlaams Belang wishes for a state for the Flemish ethnic group. You cannot in one breath support ethno-nationalism for Jews and also deny it to European peoples.

Second, the US is not what you imagine it to be either: while US citizenship laws are inclusive in a sense, it was long assumed (see Federalist #2) that it would be a refuge for European peoples of a similar cultural background.

The argument you *could* have made is that 20% of Israeli citizens are Arabs, for example. However, no one that I know in Israel thinks this is a good thing, especially given demographic trends; it is not something they see as a "strength" or positive aspect of their nation, nor should they. Furthermore, the Arab citizens (both Muslim and Christian), though enjoying full civil and political rights, are distinguished according to a standard (e.g., no service in military) that I don't think either you or LGF would approve of if applied in a European nation to either Muslims or Jews.

Besides, it matters little *why* people support Israel. Evangelical Christians support it for reasons that may be offensive to believing Jews, yet who cares? But also, Vlaams Belang seems to have no anti-Jewish agenda; do they say anywhere they want Jews living in Belgium to leave for Israel? In the article you linked to, the guy accepts the presence of an assimilated immigrant community of Muslims as well.

I don't think either you or LGF have some deliberate agenda, but you clearly haven't thought things through. You can't justify your support for a Jewish state while calling "fascist" European attempts to achieve something similar.

you assume, "believe" and claim many things. However, short of you actually providing outside, verifiable cites to support this sophistry, we, fact checking lizards that we are, will have to conclude that you are just another long winded racist twit.

Judaism is a religion: anyone, of any ethnic/genetic background that converts to is *is* Jewish. as such, all your stereotypes are for naught. to claim there is a "Jewish" ethnic group is to proclaim your antisemitism for the world to see loud and clear.

it has been noted as such, and you have been consigned to the outfall pipe of history where such worthless pieces of shit as yourself deserve to fall.

C'mon, guys. There is not a blogger, commentator, talk show host, or basically any human out there which whom I agree all of the time. But there are plenty whom I respect and from whom I can gleam some useful insight, even if I occassionally disagree with them. LGF and Atlas Shrugs are two blogs I read most every day, and whom I consider to be right most of the time. Can you two stop with the digs and knifes? You're both pushing generally the same direction. Stop trying to be the lastest one with the pointiest stick. Charles, the difference in the flogging comments is that one was meant to be an instruction, the other a figure of speech, and you know that. Pam would be appalled at the idea of you actually being flogged. Quit equating the two. C'mon guys, there is too much serious work to be done (and you're on the same team, geesh) for this "hurt feelings" stuff. Extend an olive branch. Lunch at a good Houston BBQ joint says she'll take it.

429 Charles Johnson  Tue, Jan 27, 2009 8:17:26am

No.

There will be no "olive branch," and those suggesting it are ignorant in the extreme about the true issue here. This is not just some petty squabble.

Geller and her friends are in bed with FASCIST groups. I am NOT on "the same team," and I'm not going to be. Why is this so hard for some people to grasp?

430 Charles Johnson  Tue, Jan 27, 2009 8:19:23am
