Video: Carter Says ‘Trust Hamas’
America’s most disgraceful thug-hugging former President is at it again, telling the Today Show’s Meredith Viera that Hamas can be trusted, and hinting around that he doesn’t consider them a terrorist group.

As for Jimmy, my personal feelings are that his state funeral, when the time comes, should be held in an outhouse. Sorry, that's how I feel.

The History Channel re-ran its "The Presidents" series during Inauguration Week. The final episode, covering Carter, Reagan, GHWB, Clinton, and GWB, was just revolting. Carter is presented as this wise, deeply religious man who was just overwhelmed by events beyond his control. He actually sits there with a straight face claiming he was ecstatic when the hostages were released moments after Reagan was sworn in, because all he wanted was to get them out. Right, like he wasn't furious at being humiliated like that. Then, of course, Reagan is presented as the guy whose wife consulted astrologers, and some talking bonehead claims Reagan really had nothing to do with the fall of the Berlin wall and the end of the Soviet Union. That's when I turned it off.

Really? The local ones around hear are well built. After Hurricane Andrew down in Homestead only the habitat houses & those built under the old southern building code made it. All the recent development stuff was flattened.
“RESIDENTS of a model housing estate bankrolled by Hollywood celebrities and hand-built by Jimmy Carter, the former US president, are complaining that it is falling apart.
hereFairway Oaks was built on northern Florida wasteland by 10,000 volunteers, including Carter, in a record 17-day “blitz” organised by the charity Habitat for Humanity.
Eight years later it is better known for cockroaches, mildew and mysterious skin rashes.
A forthcoming legal battle over Fairway Oaks threatens the reputation of a charity envied for the calibre of its celebrity supporters, who range from Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt to Colin Firth, Christian Bale and Helena Bonham Carter.
The case could challenge the bedrock philosophy behind Habitat for Humanity, claiming that using volunteers, rather than professional builders, is causing as many problems as it solves.
April Charney, a lawyer representing many of the 85 homeowners in Fairway Oaks, said she had no problems taking on Habitat for Humanity, despite its status as a “darling of liberal social activists”. She said the charity should have told people that part of the estate had been built on a rubbish dump. “

More from Carterpalooza
At their first meeting — in 1990 — Carter boasted of his toughness toward Israel, assuring Arafat at one point, “. . . you should not be concerned that I am biased. I am much more harsh with the Israelis.”
Carter volunteers to write speeches for Arafat to engender more sympathy
After Carter had that first meeting with Arafat, he went home and promptly served the PLO head as PR adviser and speechwriter. What do I mean? Listen to Brinkley: “On May 24 Carter drafted on his home computer the strategy and wording for a generic speech Arafat was to deliver soon for Western ears . . .” Said Carter, “The audience is not the Security Council, but the world community. The objective of the speech should be to secure maximum sympathy

Reasons to Vote Against Stimulus
All House Republicans on the Appropriations Committee voted against the “stimulus bill” reported out of their panel last week. This portion of the stimulus legislation will be combined with the tax provisions (reported from the Ways and Means Committee last week also on a party-line vote, with all Republicans voting “no”) and scheduled for consideration by the full House on Wednesday. Rep. Mark Kirk of Illinois – a Republican member of the Appropriations Committee – prepared an analysis (see below the fold) for his colleagues last week. Looks like the Democrats are using the demand for stimulus to satiate their pent up demand for a lot of new spending unrelated to economic growth.
Arguments like these – from well-respected Republicans like Kirk – are emboldening many in the GOP to vote against this measure, which looks more like a funding platform for Democratic projects than source of economic stimulus.

1. Both see an attitudinal problem with the United States. Carter used the term "malaise." Obama thinks America's "soul" is broken and needing of "hope."
2. Both are big government liberals. Carter started the energy and education departments. Obama wants to "close the income gap," provide mentor teachers (We need the federal government for that?), and a bunch of stuff you can read about on his web site.
3. Carter had and Obama will have failed energy policies. Carter wanted to reduce energy use through "layering." Specifically, the wearing of sweaters. Obama wants to "create [a] new forum of largest greenhouse gas emitters" and invest $150,000,000,000 in alternative energies like already discredited biofuels, and other things which make me want to stock up on sweaters and comfortable shoes.
California banned offshore drilling during the Carter years and Obama would rather invest in rickshaws than disturb a trout.
4. Carter gave away the Panama canal and allowed Communism to spread across Latin America. Carter let the North Koreans off the hook by removing our nuclear weapons from South Korea. The Iranians figuratively laughed in Carter's face. Obama doesn't mind antagonizing our best South American friend, Columbia, forgot about North Korea, and the Iranians must be preparing the whoopi cushions as I type. They may get the chance to literally laugh in Obama's face.
5. Both Obama and Carter like or at least don't mind hanging around, being mentored by, or meeting with Middle Eastern terror supporters or their American apologists like Jeremiah Wright. Hamas once endorsed Obama.
6. Taxes, etc. There's a bunch of other similarities.

Actually, Hamas can be trusted. Trusted to always return to their Allah-given role to kill Jews and destroy Israel, until they are destroyed themselves, and their evil eradicated.
They can also be trusted to use any opportunity to rearm, trusted to hide fighters and ammo with civilians, and act like a bunch of terrorists.

re: #197 summergurl
What link ?
FACT CHECK: NON-SOLICITATION
The Home Depot has attracted public attention in a few markets where day laborers typically gather near store property. The Company policy on solicitation is as follows:
Like many businesses in the community, The Home Depot maintains a policy of non-solicitation at its stores by individuals and organizations not affiliated with our Company. In the interest of safety and convenience, we maintain our non-solicitation policy to keep people from loitering or otherwise creating or causing safety risks to our associates or customers.
The Home Depot does not operate any day laborer centers. There have been a few instances in the state of California where The Home Depot was required by local governing agencies to provide space for day labor centers. In none of these cases does The Home Depot own or operate the required facilities.
[Link: corporate.homedepot.com...]
Home Depot does not officially support day laborers loitering in their parking lots, but neither do they seem very troubled to do anything about it until people make a big fuss. The reason Home Depot was required to provide space for day laborer centers was because Home Depot was allowing people to loiter all day long waiting for work. (cf. [Link: www.nytimes.com...] , et al.) Perhaps they are just caught in the middle. Perhaps the local police don't think loitering is a big enough issue.
Lowe's is not immune to these problems either.

After all, the best way to draw a crowd is to give the people what they want.

To the posters above, Hamas is part of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is actually more dangerous than Al Qaeda. They work through secret and "legitimate" or "peaceful" channels where Al Qaeda is our open enemy, but both have the same aims. The reason Erdogan from Turkey has been so critical of Israel is because he too is Brotherhood, but he put on a suit and became prime minister. Normally I think Turkey is more friendly with Israel.
Given connections to Khalidi et al, I believe Obama is in the same camp of thinking as Carter. We'll have to see, but expect Carter-on-steroids for the next 4 years.

I especially liked the part where Carter mumbled something about "(evil) Israel did not restore providing provisions (in a timely fashion) to the Palestinians in Gaza .."
Here's a thought for you Jimmah: How about the PALESTINIANS 'providing provisions' for themselves for a change?
I also liked the part where he lied about his deliberate snub of the awful Clintons.

Carter is the biggest buffoon the USA has had as a President!
He needs to start taking his meds for his delusional symptoms!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Cry. The more people who get convinced by this kind of false arguments the worse things are gonna get.

Let's send send Jimmy to Gaza.

Israel broke the cease-fire? By attacking a tunnel Hamas was digging underneath the Israeli border? What a douche bag!
Please Jimmy, just fade away. At least Billy only embarrassed himself instead of an entire nation.

Liberals consider Mormons and Boy Scouts dangerous enemies, and a threat to America, who should be treated without respect or civility. Hamas and the inmates of Gitmo are friends and should be trusted.

The frightening thing is that Carter actually believes the garbage he's spilling from his mouth! Has there ever been a man who held such high office who was so disassociated from reality?

Far be it from me to question Gods' will... but I often wonder why a brilliant reformer and great American Patriot like Ronald Reagan was stricken down with a disease like alzheimers, while a diseased individual like Jimmy Carter is allowed to live out a long and miserable life catering to our Nations' enemies and defending the acts of violent oppressors and cold-blooded killers.
How old is this terror-loving, backstabbing Jew-hater now... 84?
Here's hoping that Mr. Carter is ushered into the presence of God and the "reward" that (he thinks) awaits him. Soon.

Maybe Carter is so tired of his wife, he wants 72 virgins too.

while Jimmah's ways are well chronicled - this appearance is particularly notable for the following:
1) his dismissive use of "to some" when the airhead asks if Hamas is a terrorist organization;
2) his false claim that Hamas never broke a ceasefire
3) his blaming Israel for breaking the current ceasefire when even the Arab world has acknowledged that it was Hamas that broke it (well technically launched a barrage of rockets after the expiration of the ceasefire).
Jimmah is a scoundrel and a liar. The sole feather in his cap from his presidency is the cold-peace between Israel and Egypt, which he had little role other than as window dresser. Accounts I have read indicate that Begin and Sadat had agreed on a treaty, but thought that they could wrestle money out of the US if they let Carter preside over it. They were correct to the tune of approximately $5billion per year, and all that it cost them is that Carter now takes credit for it.

"No serious rocket fire from Gaza during the truce started in June."
The only problem is of course that over 50 rockets or mortars were fired by militants. Carter of course would argue that they were not fired by Hamas, but by Islamic Jihad or al aqsa martyrs brigade. But last I checked Hamas was throrough enough to oust Fatah and crush any Fatah support in Gaza. Pretty hard to believe that they cant get a handle on people firing rockets from the territory they control.
317 | mcmeador Mon, Jan 26, 2009 6:46:46pm |
The funny apart about the "no serious rocket fire" comment, which acknowledged that there was some type of rocket fire, is that it immediately followed him saying that Hamas obeyed the ceasefire completely. Does he even listen to what he's saying?
And to petero, something to add...yes, many people do use the excuse that the rocket fire was not on the part of Hamas. But I searched the web for a while one day and found an article that contained this quote regarding rocket fire that Fatah had claimed responsibility for:
"Following the attack, a spokesman for the Hamas government, Taher al-Nunu, called Fatah's actions "unpatriotic." He said Hamas was considering the possibility of taking action against those perpetrating the attacks against Israel."
So let's just assume for a second that absolutely none of the rockets or mortars fired into Israel during the ceasefire were fired by Hamas. This article plainly states that Hamas was considering taking action against those responsible for it. This means that at least up to that point, Hamas knew who was responsible but chose not to act on that information, thus allowing the attacks to occur. They may as well have been firing the rockets themselves.

We had Prime MinisterTrudeau, the personification of a '70's era cheese fondu eating hippie, with a mustard coloured turtleneck.
But you had James Earl Carter.
319 | gwillie Mon, Jan 26, 2009 7:55:40pm |
Carter said two different thing in one sentence about the ceasefire
“Hamas obeyed it completely there was no serious rocket fire for 5 months”
That is not completely. He later said that Hamas didn’t fire any missiles until Israel broke the cease fire on Nov. 4th completely ignoring the fact that Hamas was tunneling under Israel in preparation for their own attack, a violation of the ceasefire, a claim Hamas does not refute.
So to recap. By Caters own admission Hamas did not stop the rockets, Therefore Israel was not able to resume aid shipments, so Israel did not honor the ceasefire. Then Hamas began preparations for a direct attack against Israel and Israel stopping this was breaking the ceasefire.
Thank you president Carter, I’ll remember you when we are wondering how we let this happen again.

Jimma d'Idjit pulls another sleight of hand. He states that during the six-month ceasefire (that he claims to have single-handedly brokered) one Israeli was killed by rocket fire from Gaza while, on average, 49 Palestinians were killed in Gaza per month. What he doesn't say, is that the majority of these were killed by Hamas in a thuggish attempt to maintain power at the expense of Fatah.

In fact, I would trust Hamas before I would trust Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter should be labeled by his own country a 'terrorist organization' of one.
I am convinced Benedict Arnold was a better American and/or patriot than Jimmy Carter! Carter has a disgusting history of what I believe are treasonous acts against America and the American people, but be assured, he will have a MSM platform as well as following here and abroad as long as he lives spewing anti-American venom. Can you think of another POTUS who hated America so much? Obama, you say? Obama might just surpass the ass, eclipse the idiot...and Jimmy, as well as Gore, won a Nobel Peace prize...before its over Obama may even win Pulitzers, MTV Awards, BCS Championship, Nobel Peace prizes and a few Oscars...this putrid stuff makes me gag and want to hurl daily!
