Anti-War Dems Disillusioned with Obama

Politics • Views: 3,150

Pro-surrender Democrats are beginning to worry that Barack Obama won’t capitulate in Afghanistan quickly enough.

“Before I support any more troops to Afghanistan, I want to see a strategy that includes an exit plan,” said Rep. Jim McGovern, a Massachusetts liberal who at one point wanted to cut off money for the Iraq war.

Added Wisconsin Democrat Sen. Russ Feingold, another fierce war opponent: “The idea of putting the troops in without having more clarity at least gives me pause.”

Both of these people were rabidly opposed to the Iraq surge that has brought us to victory, of course. If they’d gotten their way, Iraq would now be a suburb of Iran.

The ridiculous ideas of these cowardly, white flag waving appeasers, and in some cases, treasonous Americans are not what made this country what it is. There would be no USA as we know it today if they had their way, which is perhaps exactly what their goal is.

I just got an email for a SUPER lib friend of mine, one of the better part time actors in town, I’ve worked with him in many show, and he is also one of the biggest moonbats I know.

He is a professional in his full time business life, and his email states that he is looking for any sort of handyman type of jobs right now.

He has been out of work for three months, and the reality is starting to hit him.

I’m tempted to tell him not to worry, Obama is coming to the rescue, but I won’t do that.

(but I can have a private good laugh)

Meanwhile, in Israel, both Kadima and Likud are scared that Avidgor Lieberman’s party could pull abreast of them in the elections after those on Tuesday. He’s already becoming a major power. And he wants to establish an anti-democratic “loyalty test” for citizenship. Presumably this would extend beyond “disloyal Arabs” to include opposition groups. Netanyahu thinks this is legitimate.

Lieberman has called for the expulsion of Israeli Arab citizens and the execution of Arab Members of Knesset. The Israeli attorney general declines to indict him for incitement.

Who’s Lieberman flipping the bird at?

29 Desert Dog  Sun, Feb 8, 2009 10:39:15am

Perhaps President Obama has recently been visited by a fickle and cruel entity called REALITY, and he starting to see that his idealistic and simplistic worldview is seriously flawed and all of his posturing and rhetoric during the campaign, especially the primaries, while sounding so sweet to his ears and his supporters, is simply not a workable way to run the country.

I hope that is what is happening to our Dear Leader. However, I think reality will have to slap him in the face a little harder than it has already before he comes out of his Liberal Cocoon…..let’s hope he eventually does.

They’re much closer to seeing Afghanistan become Talibanistan because of the way that Pakistan is incapable of holding on to its own territory, let alone police its border with Afghanistan to prevent the Taliban continuing to use the frontier provinces as safe havens for their operations.

Obama is now rethinking the idea of a surge in Afghanistan because the Pakistani supply lines are no longer stable, the Russians are playing games (thanks to Obama’s own naivete and inability to stand up for US and NATO pledges in the region), and the US and NATO will have a much harder time supplying the forces that are currently in place.

On the flip side, it also means that the US will likely see far greater reliance on Raptor and Predator UAV air strikes than in the past because ground forces are that much harder to resupply. Of course, the Pakistani government has their own issues with those airstrikes publicly because so many Islamists threaten the regime, but probably tolerate them privately because of the Taliban/al Qaeda threat to Islamabad.

Obama’s successes on the road to POTUS all involved organizing like-minded groups to agitate politicians into greasing the “squeaky wheel” with government money. When he got elected I’m sure he was elated to have control of the purse strings. All of the rest of the world’s distractions are putting a serious crimp in his money flinging style. He’ll have to ask his Chicago thug enforcers to handle these problems.

McGovern was my Congressman for 5 or 6 years before I moved. He lived about a half mile away from me and his office was right down the street. He’s an absolute douchebag. He had a “storefront” style office and would use the large window area to display letters and mementos, etc. I stopped and took a look at the stuff one day and there was actually a signed letter from Fidel Castro thanking him for something that was prominently displayed in the center. The rest of the stuff was mainly letters from peaceniks begging him to stop “Bush’s illegal war”. Oh, and there was a book with a saintly portrait of Che on the cover. It was unbelievable.

This is the next thing to break on the centrist/far left schism.

PRESIDENT Barack Obama has demanded that American defence chiefs review their strategy in Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge.

There is concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.

The Pentagon was set to announce the deployment of 17,000 extra soldiers and marines last week but Robert Gates, the defence secretary, postponed the decision after questions from Obama.

The president was concerned by a lack of strategy at his first meeting with Gates and the US joint chiefs of staff last month in “the tank”, the secure conference room in the Pentagon. He asked: “What’s the endgame?” and did not receive a convincing answer.

Isn’t - ahem - Obama supposed to define the endgame. Wasn’t he saying that he’ll define the strategy and the generals will define the tactics, right?

There is no adult supervision and now the kids have run of the house….

If Netanyahu didn’t plan to keep Barak on as Defense Minister, this Lieberman guy wouldn’t have gained so much ground late in the election process. If Lieberman has any say in the governance of Isreal, the Arab extremists will have finally radicalized the Isreali government to the same extent many Arab governments are. Who knew it would only take multiple wars and incessant bombing for a few decades.

The problem is, he doesn’t even know the meaning of the word “strategy,” and neither do any of his inner circle of ivory tower advisors.

I hope you’re right about Obama waking up to reality, but I fear this is just a case of misdirection. I don’t think Obama gives a damn about anything beyond reshaping the economy to his socialist ideals. Everything else is just to keep us guessing - from Robert Gates to Al Arabiya to Hillary to Joe Biden. None of it is coherent and I think that’s the point.

But domestically and economically, we’re talking about hard left enforcer types like Holder/Emanuel and the biggest spending bill you’ve ever seen. And domestic spending is where he uses his fear-mongering and harsh rhetoric. Domestic spending is also the only issue that seems to irritate him when he doesn’t get his way.

At least that’s how I see it so far. But I hope you’re right…

Obama is not a psychologically strong individual so for us to expect normal emotional or intellectual responses is mistaken. He is not being hit by reality so that it’s clicking in his conscious mind. He has a lifetime of burying bad events and ignoring them. That cool exterior is a mask for the roiling internal emotions. In high school and college he self-medicated in order not to face facts. Do you think he’s going to face facts now? I don’t. Two weeks and he’s already tired of being in the WH. Goes to read a book to 7 year olds. (Avoidance). World’s finest chef in the kitchen, they go out to eat. (Avoidance.) There’s nothing to do, go out and see the Alvin Ailey dancers. (Avoidance.) I’m laughing thinking about what Patton or even MacArthur might answer if asked that question at any point during WW2. What is the goal? Are you kidding me?

“Sure, we want to go home. We want this war over with. The quickest way to get it over with is to go get the bastards who started it. The quicker they are whipped, the quicker we can go home. The shortest way home is through Berlin and Tokyo. And when we get to Berlin, I am personally going to shoot that paper hanging son-of-a-bitch Hitler. Just like I’d shoot a snake!”

I’ll give them credit for wanting the same from Obama as they did Bush. I think I would be more upset if they simply rolled over because it was The One who wanted to send the troops in.

There is some merit to what they want. I do think the Bush Administration didn’t plan far enough into the future. Several PR miscues only aggravated this. That being said, I don’t think any amount of planning would ever satisfy their desires. You could tell them exactly what you’re going to do, they would still get upset when you did it. i.e. the initial invasion and subsequent surge. Yes, with respect to the War on Terror, all they want to do is turn the other cheek.

Hi Maisey…:)

(I was only kidding with you, yes, I like France, a lot, but I like jokes too).

I took Maisey’s food bowl away from her this morning. She was in a funny mood. She kept taking one end of the bowl off the side of the cage, letting it hang down at an angle, and throwing the food out of it.

I would hang it back up correctly, and she would take it down again. Parrots will do anything that get attention. They don’t comprehend that you don’t like it. If they do it, you react, they will do it again.

Here is a link to the local coverage.

He’s had an outstanding warrant since 2000.

Cops said they tracked down Fairey’s signature tag - a portrait of famed wrestler Andre the Giant over the word “Obey” - at several places throughout the city, including on a Massachusetts Turnpike utility building.

After his arrest, police discovered Fairey had a default warrant dating back to September 2000 for failing to appear in court on a tagging charge in Brighton.

That makes you a pet lover. People who truly enjoy pets are different than those who just own them. Look at all the celebs who get those tiny little doggies….just to use as accessories. I LOVE animals. My sister on the other hand, doesn’t. She’s not mean to critters but she just doesn’t have that spark of “Oh how sweet”. Also, pets are good theraputically too. If you are comfortable with your own self at all times (The Os) you don’t need any unconditional love from a critter. It’s hard to explain.

The president was concerned by a lack of strategy at his first meeting with Gates and the US joint chiefs of staff last month in “the tank”, the secure conference room in the Pentagon. He asked: “What’s the endgame?” and did not receive a convincing answer.

How true, dogs know if you are a decent person or not. It is very odd , but true.

This might sound goofy to some, but dogs can sense people’s real intentions by the energy field that people naturally radiate. Just like many animals who can “smell fear” and attack, dogs are very dialed-in to feeling their owner’s emotions, and the emotions of others through the electrical energy fields we all generate. Some people are very sensitive to it as well - but conversely - have you ever noticed that certain people lift the mood of everyone around them just by being in their proximity? Just as powerfully, certain people depress others just by being in their presence, no words spoken? It’s all in that energy field, that dogs are extremely sensitive to.

I bet the Obamas just never met a dog that liked them.

That performance before the Dems retreat by Barry was just a glimce of what he is like when he doesn’t ge his own way. He seems truely shocked that the Senate Republicans just didn’t roll over in fear of him and pass the stimulus.

To me Barry seems to harbor a very dark and bitter anger for perceived insults in his life, abandoned by his Father, flakey Mother and his desire to make society pay for all this. I don’t see Barry reacting well when he doesn’t get his own way from Congress or International leaders or anyone else who challenges his decisions. He seems autocratic by nature and very insecure. IMHO I don’t think he is nearly as “smart” as he leads everyone to believe and he is well aware that he isn’t that “smart” and has used charm and gulit to make up that lack of intellect. With Rahm Emanuel to egg him on this will be a rough ride indeed.

338 Jimmah  Sun, Feb 8, 2009 1:42:51pm
WASHINGTON – After campaigning on the promise to end one war, President Barack Obama is preparing to escalate another.

Obama’s dual stance on the two wars is not lost on congressional Democrats, many of whom also ran on anti-war platforms. In coming weeks, they expect to have to consider tens of billions of dollars needed for combat, including a major buildup of troops in Afghanistan.

While increasing the military’s focus in Afghanistan was anticipated — it was a cornerstone of Obama’s campaign — many Democrats acknowledged in recent interviews that they are skittish about sending more troops, even in small numbers.

The concern, they say, is that the military could become further entrenched in an unwinnable war on their watch.

‘Words of wisdom’ from the people who tried to bring you defeat in Iraq. You’d think they might have learned something from that. Obama seems to have.

339 jantjepietje  Sun, Feb 8, 2009 1:47:45pm
