Venezuela Arrests Synagogue Attackers

After the shocking attacks on a synagogue in Venezuela last month, thug-in-chief Hugo Chavez suggested that the attackers might have been Jews themselves. So you have to wonder what kind of pressure was brought to bear on Chavez to get him to take action: Venezuela detains 11 suspects in synagogue attacks.

CARACAS, Venezuela – Authorities arrested 11 people, including seven police officers, suspected of carrying out an attack on a Caracas synagogue that raised concerns of rising of anti-Semitism in Venezuela, officials said Sunday.

The Attorney General’s Office said an agent of the federally controlled investigative police force and one of the synagogue’s security guards were among the 11 suspects arrested during raids over the weekend. The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

It's very simple, he thinks he has room for some quid pro Quobama, he's probably gonna try to play nice awhile. On top of that elections are coming up, he doesn't want to stir up political groups against the vote on his perpetual presidency.

Hugo's petro-empire is in the early stages of collapse. If oil prices stay low, there is bound to be a coup in the country as the social services dry up and folks get angry. Maybe this was a way to appease a segment of the population?

Chavez is temporarily worried about the vote this Saturday to keep him in office forever. He is still an anti-semitic Amendinajad butt-kisser. Thugo Chavez wants power and idolizes Hitler's policies including the "Enabling Laws" Hitler and he used to take over their governments.

After next Saturday, expect more of the same-old poop to flow from Chavez mouth.

Jews had very few problems living in Venezuela until Chavez came along. In fact, Cuba was a significant refuge for Jews after WWII. Cuba welcomed Jews. Then Castro (they are both the same) decided to join Chavez in licking Iran's feet. Castro and Chavez are pro-Hezziebolah, pro-Hamas and thus, both get a thrill out of pissing on the Palestinians to make them attach Israel.

In a disappointing article today, the WaPo wrote about the travails of South America's Jews. The problems is that it framed the antisemitism as a reaction to Israel's war against Hamas. In truth, as a recent article in Commentary showed, Chavez's antisemitism has been part of his ideology since he came to power.

Also remember that Chavez lost a similar referendum a little more than a year ago. Apparently he'll keep trying until he's successful.

Hate speech breeds violence.

Stupidity breeds violence. I've read Mein Kampf. I have never harmed or wanted to harm a Jew. I've read the Qur'an. I have not submitted to Islam. Why? Because I'm not stupid enough to buy into their messages. I could listen to Nazi propaganda all day and it would not have the slightest affect on me except for increasing my loathing of Nazis.

The concept of "Hate Speech" is pernicious as is the concept of "Hate Crimes". What's next; "Hate Thought"? Who decides? You? Me?

I'll take unfettered freedom of expression warts and all over locking someone up (or worse) for opening their mouth.

There's a line from an old Steppenwolf song that's stuck with me all these years: "They got a right to say it wrong if Freedom's to survive..."

Venezuela has over 30% inflation and cannot pay its bills. Poor people will start hurting within two months from now. Democratic Congressman have proposed a new public transportation system for themselves. Its called PORK AND RIDE.

Hugo Chavez heard about it and told the press he personally would PORK it in a way no US president could.

CAIR immediately condemned it saying anything with PORK is anti-Islamic.

Amendinajad said Iran does not have PORK but would develop PORK for domestic uses only.

Obama said he wants to eliminate PORK, because chicken is healthier.

Whether the arrests are truly the work of police who care about justice, or whether they're politically motivated acts of terror, we'll probably never know in our lifetimes. That's why Chavez is such toe cheese. Even if does an occasional good deed or not, nobody would ever expect it or believe it. THAT'S how bad he is.

And once again, there is this awful confusion between being Jewish and being Israeli. Too many try too damned hard to tie the two together. And we do just the opposite: We bend over backwards and contort ourselves in to ridiculous levels of tolerance for anti-Western behavior, just so that we don't appear to be un-friendly to Islam. And they don't believe us anyway.

We might as well stop trying and get busy doing what seems inevitable: fight them.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean Philippe Jutzi said the diplomat, who headed the Swiss Embassy's section for US interests, left Teheran last month after the "regretful incident."

Jutzi declined to comment Monday on allegations by Iranian media that sexual relations with the woman led to the temporary arrest of the diplomat.

Daily Jomhuri-e-Eslami reported Saturday the Swiss diplomat was arrested in north Teheran while doing "unlawful acts in a car." But according to Mehr news agency, Iranian police denied the detention.

Beck has been increasingly maniacal lately. A couple of nights ago, I tuned him in for a few minutes and he was raving about civil war in Texas after the drug cartels take over Mexico and millions of Mexican refugees flee to Texas. The concept of "Hate Speech" is pernicious as is the concept of "Hate Crimes". What's next; "Hate Thought"? Who decides? You? Me?

I'll take unfettered freedom of expression warts and all over locking someone up (or worse) for opening their mouth.

I worked for a company with customers in Venezuela, and have many friends in that country. I traveled there frequently. Being "arrested" in Venezuela does not mean the same thing as in the USA. Unless and until those arrested are convicted AND jailed, this means nothing. The process in Venezuela can take years, if not eons, and sometimes never arrived at a conclusion. the "suspects" can go merrily on their way, doing everything except (possibly) leaving the country. Moreover, if the suspects are tries and found "not guilty", that closes the door on re-charging them if/when Chavez is no longer in power. I seriously doubt that this "arrest" means anything.

Sort of like a Palestinian arrest

Beck has been increasingly maniacal lately. A couple of nights ago, I tuned him in for a few minutes and he was raving about civil war in Texas after the drug cartels take over Mexico and millions of Mexican refugees flee to Texas. At one point, he declared that the feds would be no help and Texas would have to take action on its own.

How long do you think Texas will put up with this while Obambi runs around Camp David?

Just as government officials had feared, the drug violence raging in Mexico is spilling over into the United States.

U.S. authorities are reporting a spike in killings, kidnappings and home invasions connected to Mexico's murderous cartels. And to some policymakers' surprise, much of the violence is happening not in towns along the border, where it was assumed the bloodshed would spread, but a considerable distance away, in places such as Phoenix and Atlanta.

Organizing for America
My Name Redacted --

Americans have organized Economic Recovery House Meetings in all 50 states -- including 382 in California, 255 in Florida, 115 in Ohio, 199 in New York, 105 in Washington, and 149 in Texas.

That's more than 3,587 meetings in 1,579 cities and 429 congressional districts.

This past weekend, meeting hosts and guests watched a video of Governor Tim Kaine answering your questions about the president's recovery plan. Then they shared their own stories about how the crisis has affected them.

Watch Governor Kaine's video and share your economic crisis story.

Watch the video

The media is filled with numbers about the economic crisis. But the numbers do not tell the full story.

The story of this crisis is in homes across the country -- homes where a family member has lost a job, where parents are struggling to pay a mortgage, and where college tuition has slipped out of reach.

That's also where the story of our recovery begins -- in communities where repairing roads and bridges, manufacturing green technologies, and rehabilitating our schools and hospitals will directly impact the lives of ordinary people and their families.

President Obama's recovery plan will help struggling families right now by saving or creating up to 4 million jobs. But it will also help strengthen our economy for the future by investing in crucial infrastructure projects in health care, education, and energy.

Share your story about how this economic crisis is affecting you and your family and join your fellow Americans in supporting bold action to speed our recovery:

So with all of the good vibes coming out of Chicago, how does it show up as the third worst city on our second annual list of America's Most Miserable Cities?

Lousy weather, long commutes, rising unemployment and the highest sales tax rate in the country are to blame for the Windy City being near the top of our list. High rates of corruption by public officials didn't help either.

re: #260 Walter L. Newton

What are those clues?

well the "wars and rumours of wars" is one that is kinda vague

it also talks about the weather, and earthquakes in diverse places...We are having a spurt (geologically speaking) in both earthquakes and vocanoes in the last 150 years or so

men will become lovers of themselves (hollywood and the rise in blatant gay acceptance push)

I know there is more but can't remember them all off the top of my head Oh yeah and signs in the heavens (ozone layer?)

There's that website featuring "Obama as the Messiah" (a spoof about Obama being a would be "savior") and the MSM's constant fawning attention paid to the warm and fuzzy fluff Obama talked about during his campaign days... Maybe now that Obama's the president, there's a need for a new website featuring Obama as the doom-sayer...note how frequently Obama has invoked the language of an impending "catastrophe" (like it's "It's the end of the world! It's the end of the world, I tell you! Unless, of course, you immediately do as I tell you...") Now Obama is referring to a "permanent" economic recession...(I just wonder how many doom and gloom references he'll be making in his press conference tonight..) So much for the "hope" b.s.

Snow on the top of Mt. Wilson, San Gabriel Mountains of California. The Towercam, Pacific time zone.

And yet with all this beauty, there are still those who waste their lives in hating.

I was just looking at that myself, since the sun is out down here. You beat me on posting it. Beautiful.

I don't have a list or a Bible right now, but clues like: "There will be wars and rumors of wars". Or: "Cubs win the pennent"! "Cubs win the pennent"!

Never mind, I thought a serious discussion about biblical prophecy was ensuing.

Ya know what, you are getting carried away. We were talking about O'Reily & you tossed in American Idol. I just made a joke that I watched it, to monitor it.
You are now talking about some Rage Against the Machine Resistance Movement.
Sheesh,

yes I have rage...and I have taken it a step further...when I raised a family I paid some of my taxes and kept my head down...now I tell the feds to simply fuck off...it's not for everybody...as for TV it is a cesspool and I rarely use it...I can make a small difference by ignoring the MSM and so can you...I didnt mean to be judgemental and for that I apologise...

ciaospirit (#281),

From your link:

A Little Corruption Problem

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois, which includes Chicago, has been very busy in recent years. They convicted 385 public officials of crimes over the past decade,

A "little" corruption problem?!

That's three convictions a month for the past ten years.

Nothing new about that

The total death toll from earthquakes is a hundred times larger from 464bc through the 1700's. And record keeping and detection methods are better now, so there is NO WAY to compare that statement between then and now.

men will become lovers of themselves (hollywood and the rise in blatant gay acceptance push)

Heavens, have you ever studied anything about ancient Greece (and most of the ancient Mediterranean cultures?

I know there is more but can't remember them all off the top of my head Oh yeah and signs in the heavens (ozone layer?)

The authors of the greek scriptures we addressing a current audience about current events or near future events. Just because things didn't come about the way they thought is was, does not, in any way, mean that it can be transfered to our times.

Theologians have been doing that for years and keep moving the target. Why do you think that is?

The Late, Great Planet Earth
The Soon To Be Late, Great Planet Earth
The Something Soon Late, Great Planet Earth
The "I'm betting on it" Late, Great Planet Earth

I could go on and on... like Hal.

Never mind, I thought a serious discussion about biblical prophecy was ensuing.

I would be more than happy to, except I'd like to have a little reference material so that I can be accurate. I do know that prophesies were made in both the old and new testements. In the old testemant, I believe the book of Elijah has the most. I'm not that sure about the new testement.

How can you make comments about a subject that you have no ability to discuss? And we wonder how some people just do that their holy men tell them to do. I don't see much difference sometimes.

The assailants also stole a computer database with names and addresses.

Color me suspicious, but it's possible that this was the reason for the crime and the rest was superfluous "cover-up," to make it look like "garden-variety" antisemitism. (Personally, I prefer tomatoes in my garden.)

If my name was on that computer, I might pack a little faster.

Wow. Glenn Beck is doing a whole segment promoting the idea that we're approaching the dreaded End of Days! We're doomed!

Good grief. What an idiot.

some time ago when beck was talking about abortion he used a visual ref to the 'Nazi gas chambers' which left my wife in total emotional break down. it took a half hour for her to stop crying and shaking. You see she is a child of a Holocaust surviving family member. I am not for abortion as a birth control method but it isn't the Holocaust either.
