Arab Pundit Praises Hitler for the Holocaust

Middle East • Views: 13,920

Another Arab pundit justifies the Holocaust; Essa bin Mohammed Al Zedjali’s take is that the Jews deserved genocide: How Israel became a terrorist state. Absolutely vile.

It is illustrative to browse through the relevant pages of history to know the real history of the Jews in Germany. You would then come to know why Hitler had taken harsh measures against them. The entire economy of Germany, including banks, publishing houses, jewellery stores, light and heavy industries and almost all economic organisations of consequence, was under the total control of the Jews.

They muddied every aspect of the economy by perpetrating fraud after fraud on common people. This unprepossessing situation annoyed the German citizens no end and impelled Hitler to punish the Jews for their bad deeds.

The United States today finds itself in the same predicament as Germany back then. Now in the US, the Jews wield enormous control over all important decisions, whether they relate to politics, economy or media. No American citizen is free today to utter a single word about international or even national issues. This is the reason the American views on various issues being relayed to the world through the media are in fact the views of the Jews.

If Jews had that much control over the media, would the media be obsessing about every hair on every Palestinian's head? I don't think so.

This totally defies logic. If the Jews were *that* powerful, how did Hitler gain the power to destroy them?

Oh, wait. I'm applying logic to the bilge from a Jew-hating bastard. My bad.

Why did European Jews enter the professions in which they were engaged? Because European law forbade them from engaging in other occupations. And of course, when they did well in them, they must be criticized for daring to do so, and by the selfsame people who wouldn't allow them to work in others.

I am getting seriously "annoyed" myself.

If, if , if.

If we had avoided getting stuck with Obama then the chance was that over the next eight years the technological revolutions and the growth of new energy sources, combined with the draw down of oil reserves under Islamist control, would have begun to reduce the threat of Islamist supremacy to to a bad memory. Eventually these unproductive parasites will be left to fester in the backwaters they create. Unfortunately they are now free to run wild and threaten all across the earth.

Good Morning Charles! Wow - you're certainly up and at 'em EARLY this morning! Hope you're getting enough sleep Charles. Betcha it was that Kindle wasn't it?!

And I gotta say these effin Anti-Semites need to come up with new material:

Same old, same old. Economy going down the crapper (or in the case of Arabs never been out of the crapper)? Blame the Jews! Doesn't matter if it isn't true, enough people don't like Jews anyway, and they'll all believe it anyway!
POS.

Sorry for the early OT:

How do you say "whoopsie" in Mandarin?

BEIJING -- National broadcaster China Central Television said a fireworks display organized by one of its own employees set off a blaze that destroyed a 44-story building adjacent to its iconic new headquarters in Beijing.

Fire authorities in Beijing said the fireworks were high-explosive devices that were set off illegally Monday evening during celebrations to mark the end of the Lunar New Year holiday. One firefighter died after inhaling toxic fumes while battling the fire and seven other people were injured.

CCTV issued a statement Tuesday saying one of its employees hired a company without authorization to let off fireworks in a compound that houses the Television Cultural Center building, which was gutted by the blaze. That building – in the shape of a silver boot -- is next door to the landmark $800 million CCTV tower, which appears to be undamaged, according to a fire department official on the scene Tuesday.

I'd say this is definitely going to come up on someone's performance review.

Anyone curious to know more about the man who wrote this? You can google his name and find more of the disgusting Jew-hating lies that he periodically spews into the world via this newspaper, the Times of Oman, which he apparently founded. It turns out he has also worked for Oman's government in various capacities:

Essa bin Mohammed Al Zedjali was born in 1939 in Muscat. He had his primary education at Al Saidiyah School in Muscat. His went for further studies to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia where he worked for Aramco from 1954 to 1956. He joined PDO as a director in Fahud (1956-1958).

From 1959 to 1968, he was head of the Manuscripts Department at the Ministry of Post, Telegraph and Phone in Kuwait. He worked as a secretary at the Oil Department in Abu Dhabi (1969-1972).

In February 1972, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman as director of Consular Affairs and was appointed the first consul general for the Sultanate in Bombay (1974- 1979).

In 1975, he founded the Al Essa Printing and Publishing House (currently Muscat Press and Publishing House). He founded the Times of Oman, the first English newspaper in the Sultanate and continues to be its editor-in-chief.

The writer was a member of the Consultancy Council for two terms (1985-1989), member of the OCCI for eight years, and member of the Commercial Disputes Settlement Authority for six years.

He was also the Sultanate’s honorary consul to the Philippines (1989-1994) and a member of the International Press Organisation and the Gulf Press Organisation.

Why'd they rape that woman? She was "uncovered meat" who deserved it. Why'd they blow up that Tube station, airport, hospital, wedding, or pizzeria? It was filled with non-Muslims were begging for a bombing by flaunting their infidel ways. Why'd they riot over cartoons about their propensity to riot? Infidels made them. Why'd they pal around with Hitler and give sanctuary to his murderous death camp doctors? Because the Jews forced them to hate Jews. We're innocent, it's the rest of the world that's guilty!

On the topic of cognitive dissonance, here are a couple of Ahmadmanonjihad's lines from the article:

"If you really want to fight terrorism, come and cooperate with the Iranian nation, which is the biggest victim of terrorism, so that terrorism is eliminated. ... If you want to confront nuclear weapons ... you need to stand beside Iran so it can introduce a correct path to you," he said.

My favorite lines:

The sheer cyclopean size of this stimulus package, which comes up to roughly 1.2 trillion dollars when you add in the interest over 10 years, is difficult for most people to comprehend. How big is it? As Mitch McConnell said,

I'm not sure how far back this can be extended; is it merely a twentieth-century phenomenon? Dennis believes it is "God's plan," presumably the downside of being the "chosen people." But as a secularist, I don't buy arguments merely from Biblical authority.

I would love to see a historian do a study of the most evil regimes in human history prior to the twentieth century, when such can be identified, and see whether they also hated Jews.

It's certainly no mystery that pathetic losers often feel the need to blame someone, anyone (other than themselves) for their lack of achievement.

What remains a perennial mystery is why it is almost always Jews who get blamed first.

Apparently, logic is as unnecessary as truth: after all, if you believe that Jews have everything and Muslims have nothing, why would you not fix your blame on Allah for failing to provide for His faithful?

From the Bloomberg article...

Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.

Personally, I would like to know who the author of the article came up with that "opinion," since it is NOT a quote from Dashle.

I'm not saying it's not true, but the way it's framed, it's a "scare" paragraph, based on the writers opinion, not actual information.

I think polls close shortly, does anyone know if Israeli "winners" and "losers" traditionally due acceptance/concession speeches on the evening of the election?

That was my original thought -- if somebody posts his or her own email address on the internet, then we should be allowed to post it too. But I have learned that Charles doesn't feel that way, and I have come to believe that his policy makes more sense than mine. For example, what if he or she really didn't mean to post the address, and someone else leaked it? Or what if he or she now wishes to remove the email address and make it private again, but now it's forever archived publicly on LGF? With Charles' policy, whatever bad that happens isn't his fault or LGF's fault. And anyway, it's easy enough to just link to the page that has the email address.

re: #136 Walter L. Newton

The proportional voting system is different than a simple parliament. There are no ridings or electoral districts. People vote for the party of their choice. The seats in parliament are divided acording to the percentage of the vote: so many seats for Party A, so many seats for Party B and so on. The politicians who get the seats are selected by their parties, not the people. Proportional electoral systems encourage a multitude of smaller factional parties to spring up and discourages finding common ground between parties. The result is a string of fragile short lived governments. The MP's are more beholding to their party bosses than to the electorate. It's a bad system all round.

re: #132 Lincolntf

Hi all. I just went to Israellycool to check on the Israeli elections. To those who think that the Electoral College makes a simple process too complicated, trying to keep track of who's winning over there seems to be beyond everyone. The proportional system makes a ton of races important, apparently.
I think polls close shortly, does anyone know if Israeli "winners" and "losers" traditionally due acceptance/concession speeches on the evening of the election?

If this election turns out as expected, NO ONE, will have enough seats in the Knesset to form a government. So the horse trading will begin. Don't expect definitive results so soon, just indications.

From the wiki:

This electoral system, inherited from the Yishuv (Jewish settlement organization during the British Mandate), makes it very difficult for any party to gain a working majority in the Knesset and thus the government is generally formed on the basis of a coalition. The prime minister is selected by the president as the party leader most able to form a government, based on the number of parliament seats her or his coalition has won. After the president's selection, the prime minister has forty-five days to form a government. The members of the cabinet must be collectively approved by the Knesset

"Some of the New Age Movement's constituent elements appeared initially in 19th century metaphysical movements: Spiritualism, Theosophy, and New Thought; also, alternative medicine movements chiropractic and naturopathy.[3][2] These movements in turn have roots in Transcendentalism, Mesmerism, Swedenborgianism, and various earlier Western esoteric or occult traditions, such as the hermetic arts of astrology, magic, alchemy, and kabbalah. Some of the popularisation behind these ideas has roots in the work of early 20th century writers such as D. H. Lawrence and William Butler Yeats. The first known use of the New Age in this context was in Madame Blavatsky's book The Secret Doctrine, which was published in 1888.[4] Although, the phrase had been used earlier to refer to a belief in a spiritual and artistic "New Age" by William Blake circa 1809 in his preface to Milton: a Poem; it was originally coined by fellow Christian mystic Emanuel Swedenborg in the 18th century."

Mark Twain brought up a good point once, when addressing European anti-Semitism.

The basis of successful business is honesty; a business cannot thrive where the parties to it cannot trust each other. In the matter of numbers of the Jew counts for little in the overwhelming population of New York; but that his honesty counts for much is guaranteed by the fact that the immense wholesale business houses of Broadway, from the Battery to Union Square, is substantially in his hands. I suppose that the most picturesque example in history of a trader's trust in his fellow-trader was one where it was not Christian trusting Christian, but Christian trusting Jew.

I don't argue that Jews did have an immense presence in the economy of every region they have been in; in fact, I even embrace and take pride in this fact. The idea that Jews are somehow dishonest and deceiving is a myth, however.

That Hessian Duke who used to sell his subjects to George III. to fight George Washington with got rich at it; and by-and-by, when the wars engendered by the French Revolution made his throne too warm for him, he was obliged to fly the country. He was in a hurry, and had to leave his earnings behind - $9,000,000. He had to risk the money with some one without security. He did not select a Christian, but a Jew - a Jew of only modest means, but of high character; a character so high that it left him lonesome - Rothschild of Frankfort. Thirty years later, when Europe had become quiet and safe again, the Duke came back from overseas, and the Jew returned the loan, with interest added.

True, although it's also the case that our currency has both literally and figuratively had better shelf life than most. You can come across U.S. banknotes in circulation that were printed in the 1960s, no problem. You don't see that in Europe.

Radical Islam dreams of killing all Jews, destroying Israel and subjugating Europe and the USA.
Hitler used anti-Semitism to divert Germans' attention away from their humiliating military, economic and political failures and to provide them with an outlet for their collective frustration and rage.
In addition to the foregoing, Islamofascists also view anti-Semitism as a very real military strategy to weaken Israel and to fracture the US - Israeli alliance.
In these trying economic times it will remain to be seen whether the American government drinks from the poisoned chalice.

Hi Walter! It probably is a good idea. I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where, or I'd link to it), that one of the odd things in our currency production costs is that it costs a dime to produce a nickel, and a nickel to produce a dime! (If that's a fact, it's pretty funny.)

Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

[snip]

Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)

[snip]

The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

Yep...... Change is in the wind.
Hope I survive.

Here's an interesting look at one of the earliest New Age movements, the founder of the Waldorf School system,

Origin of the Specious: Race, lies and stereotypes in Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophy

In addition to the wacky stuff about elves and astrology, Steiner had a nasty racialist streak.

Most people think of Steiner schools as gentle places - a creative pedagogy, where every toy is wooden, and phrases like “free to learn” and “natural” are used with abandon. Only occasionally do their more ludicrous beliefs get a mention: the supernatural, the occult, belief in karma, demons, angels, Atlantis, medieval temperaments, spirit worlds, astral forces and… gnomes!

The schools routinely champion themselves as a radical alternative to the mainstream, their websites drawing people in with vague and general terminology and gushingly self-congratulatory advertisements for Steiner and the movement. But they invariably make one huge omission: that “anthroposophy” guides their every move, and that anthroposophy’s central tenet is “racial hierarchies”.

Sounds like Boulder.

327 Ayatollah Ghilmeini  Tue, Feb 10, 2009 8:08:38am

Dear Asshat Al Zedjali ,

I read with great interest the writings of a learned man from the East. Sadly, sir, you simply don't know shit. About anything. Certainly history, let us look at what you wrote:

Some of the Jewish people used to live in Arab countries. There they lived like Arab citizens enjoying all the rights and duties. In fairness, however, we should say that the Arab Jews were far more polite, well-behaved and good-hearted than the European Jews.

Oh the duties were many, pay any tax or bribe we were commanded to pay under penalty of death, to walk in the gutter while your horses pissed on us, under penalty of death. To suffer abuse in the streets, robbery, intimidation and brutalization and often murder, under threat of ever speaking up being the last thing one ever said. You do know that Israel's most anti-Arab population are the descendants of your former citizens whom you summarily sent away after taking everything they possessed? You do know that it was not Europe's Foreign Ministries that wanted the creation of Israel, Mr. Bevin the British FM in 1948 was even a bigger anti-Jewish bigot than you are.

But it is your knowledge of Hitler and WWII that is ignorance writ large:

The entire economy of Germany, including banks, publishing houses, jewellery stores, light and heavy industries and almost all economic organisations of consequence, was under the total control of the Jews.

The German Jews were guilty of nothing. They ran Germany the way I run Oman today. We control the media, the NYT, the BBC and the Guardian haven't had a good thing to say about Israel in 25 years. I am proud of the Jewish contribution to America's economy and success. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Nor is Israel. I am justifiably proud of a new nation that has accomplished so much not just for herself but all humanity. You do use a cell phone and computer don't you? Please use them with our blessing.

We don't hate you. We hate ignorance. Have you ever looked across the waters to the east? There is a little country there called Iran. Her leaders intend to form a new Persian Empire and expect all of us to pay tribute to her for the rest of our lives. The only one who will stop them is Israel.

You don't know us and your don't understand us. The war last month was because Iran said to Hamas to fire rockets at Israel's homes; you would not stand for it, well neither will we. The population of Gaza before the war was 1.5 million and afterwards it was still 1.5 million. No massacres, war to be sure, but a war fought in a way to minimize civilian suffering and death. If Israel wanted to massacre people in Gaza, a single carpet bomb strike could easily kill 30-50,000 people in five minutes. That's one strike and five minutes. Yet you are silent when your brothers at Hamas, who work to make you an Iranian slave, fire rockets at cities with special ball bearing warheads to maximize civilian casualties.

We will save you from Iran but it won't be because you deserve it, it will be because we have learned that trusting our lives to anyone but ourselves lets the Hitlers and Omanis of the world blame us for all that is wrong in the world and murder us at will.

My British in-laws have waited months for an appointment with a specialist, and even more months for minor outpatient procedures. When faced with heath difficulties, I suppose you could say that they lacked hope. How ironic.
We, on the other hand, pay a lot of money for our insurance and expect the best health care it can buy. If any of my children are ill, I want no stone unturned in their behalf.

I recommend the book "The Ominous Parallels", by Leonard Peikoff for an in-depth study of the rise of anti-Semitism. It's useful to study how an enlightened, civilized nation can be turned down the path of Fascism and genocide.

His book derives its name because he continues the analysis to American society to see if there are the same elements lurking in the shadows. I was very surprised to encounter people after 9/11 openly expressing anti-Semitic views - I thought them to be much rarer. I also could not understand why this attack by Islamic terrorists would evoke such a response - I guess in a twisted mind this makes 'sense'. In other words, to this way of thinking it is easier to remove what is supposedly motivating the attackers than opposing the evil itself. Very shortsighted, since these fanatics consider Israel to be the 'little satan' and the U.S. to be the 'Great Satan'.

I could never understand anti-Semitism. This Al Zedjali is apparently typical - accusing the Jews of doing 'too well' in the professional classes, making vague accusations of impropriety and then calling for the pogrom to 'take care' of the problem.

I'm especially amazed that he's claiming that no American has the ability to freely comment on international or national issues. Apparently he doesn't watch MSNBC and is completely unaware of DailyKOS and Huffington Post. Also, apparently he's claiming Obama is being controlled by the Jews - kind of strange given the effort toward rapprochement with Iran.

As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “If you wait until you see the whites of their eyes, you will never know what hit you.”

True.

"Whites of their eyes" has to be taken in the military context of that day. Smoothbore muskets were inaccurate at longer ranges. Units fought in ranks using volley fire, with the sheer volume of musket balls increasing the likelyhood of getting hits on the enemy's men.

"Whites of their eyes" meant increasing the probability of hitting the oncoming British soldiers by waiting until they were so close that you almost couldn't miss. By the standards of the day, the tactic was risky, but potentially devastating.

Treasury joins with private capital to reset credit market

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Tuesday outlined the rough details of the government's new plan to rescue the financial industry and restart stalled credit markets, saying his and other agencies will partner with private capital to get the job done.
"Together with the Fed, FDIC and private sector, we will establish a Public Private Investment Fund," Geithner said in remarks prepared for delivery later Tuesday.
"This program will provide government capital and government financing to help leverage private capital to help get private markets working again for the legacy loans and assets that are now burdening the entire financial system."
While Geithner provided no exact details in the released comments, published reports say that the plan calls for a $250 to $500 billion program to encourage private investors to acquire illiquid mortgage securities from troubled financial institutions, reports say.
Early reception of the plan was negative, as financial stocks and the broader market fell when the scant details emerged.

So far, I still see no move to change the "mark to market" valuation model.

Until they change that, none of the rest of this is going to be much help, and the market is reflecting that, down about 2% at this moment.

The SEC also needs to reinstall the "uptick rule" for short sales.

Agreed. One of our employers is pushing a health savings plan which we might consider. When you have to pay cash, it makes you think twice about what you need and where you get it from.

Health Savings Accounts are a good idea. Customer pays for the little stuff, so they are wiser in using health care for theses things. But the big stuff is all covered. Customers get the balance in the HSA at the end of the year as an incentive.

No, I don't disagree, I say your are wrong. Period. I don't have any problem in taking that stand. You make some statements on a public forum, can't back them up with any information, yet you are telling me it's true because you say it's true.

Sorry, critical thinking doesn't work like that, thank goodness. Come back when you have something to show me.

Ahhhhhhhhh true and Obama has every intention of using taxpayer money.

"Look ahead:

"... I want to be candid: this comprehensive strategy will cost money, involve risk, and take time.

"We will have to adapt it as conditions change. We will have to try things we've never tried before. We will make mistakes. We will go through periods in which things get worse and progress is uneven or interrupted.

Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan

. . . One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.
. . .
He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

Yep...... Change is in the wind.
Hope I survive.

Oh, good grief!

Now the federal gubmint will be deciding what is appropriate treatment for me? This will no longer be my choice and that of my doctor? I hope I will fit their criteria for being one worth saving . . .

I am not willing to accept a "hopeless" diagnosis. I can't believe he said that. There have been too many cases of a "hopeless" diagnosis by local doctors without the proper expertise and knowledge, and the patient going to a state-of-the-art medical center and receiving treatment that results in their survival.

Two chunks of the health care cost are liability insurance for the providers, and all the hidden costs to comply with the all the regulations. I'd like to see a major overhaul in those two areas before we start tossing the baby with the bath water.

It sounds like part of your 'chunks' could be greatly helped by tort reform. My GP told me he pays in excess of $250,000/yr in liability insurance premiums.....and that was several years ago.

I understand there are bad doctors out there, but I have to believe it's a pretty small percentage. We have to realize that doctors are human and allow for some level of honest mistakes and limit some of the 'pain & suffering' awards that go into the millions of dollars. Money doesn't fix 'pain & suffering' and its loss can cause a lot for a lot of people.

That's just infuriating. Why in the world would Harry Reid block that? Especially since it's brought by Sessions and Nelson...a Republican and a Democrat. What happened to bi-partisanship Senator Reid?

Moron.

Harry's days may be numbered...

Nevadans Launch In-State 'Dump Reid' Effort

CARSON CITY, Nev., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new Nevada-based organization, Independent Nevadans for Change, officially launched today its political effort to defeat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) in 2010 with the release of its new website: DumpReid.com.

"Democrats, Republicans and independent voters don't often agree on much," said longtime political activist Chuck Muth, director of the Dump Reid project, "but a growing number from all philosophical walks of life agree that it's time to change Nevada's senior U.S. senator."

Independent Nevadans for Change is an IRS 527 organization which will use the Internet to recruit opposition and raise money for TV, radio, direct mail and other traditional campaign activities for the 2010 campaign.

The DumpReid.com website and blog was developed by Eric Odom, a web strategist and online social media expert with deep Nevada roots. Odom notes that many on the left are just as dissatisfied with Harry Reid as those on the right.

Muth said he welcomes out-of-state efforts to oust Reid next year, but added, "We Nevadans know Harry Reid. We know the players. We know the issues. We know the electorate. And while voters around the nation understandably want to dump Harry Reid, it ultimately will have to be done by Nevadans themselves. That's why I established this in-state group dedicated to 'daschling' Harry Reid next year."

That's a reference to the 2004 defeat of then-Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-South Dakota).

"Dumping Harry Reid won't be easy," concluded Muth, "but to borrow a phrase: 'Yes We Can!'"

OT Y'all - from Rasmussen Reports:

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of American adults believe that when members of Congress meet with regulators and other government officials, they do so to help their friends and hurt their political opponents. In a solid display of agreement across party lines, a majority of Democrats, Republicans and those unaffiliated with either major party share this view.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 19% disagree and believe that their elected officials try to achieve a fair result in such meetings. Twenty-two percent (22%) of adults are not sure.

Government employees are more likely than others to think that members of Congress meet with government officials to help friends and hurt opponents. Seventy-four percent (74%) of those on the public payroll hold that view, while only 10% believe the legislators meet to get a fair results.

Obama can't force any of us to fully participate in the economy. It doesn't make sense that individuals or businesses will take on more debt when we are already so steeped in debt.

This is like the patient in the ER with internal bleeding. Despite pumping pints of fresh blood into the body, it is futile until the internal bleeding is stopped. That can only happen when debt is written down or written off and right now that is not happening.

It's worse than that because the Obama plan is to subsidize folks who are not participating and increase taxes on those who do.

It makes no sense in less your goal is a redistribution of wealth.

And the people getting laid off, or loosing jobs, are white collar and home deport workers. I'm tech, I don't drive a bulldozer and neither does the guy at home depot.

This bill is going to put money right back in the same pockets that have been getting federal funds for ever.

Same bullshit, different day.

That comment of the O's was completely disrespectful of Biden. Totally.

You would think Obama would realize that making fun of HIS OWN CHOICE for running mate would cause people to question his own judgement.

He is way overboard arrogant, too sure of himself and how "right" he is.

So, how likely do you think it is that Jew-hatred will rise in the US to the point where life gets uncomfortable for Jews?
(Real question - I have been wondering about this, but I don't have an answer.)

It won't, necessarily. Peikoff's premise was that in a turbulent environment, the demagogue riles the crowd up by finding a scapegoat group to attack. He didn't specify the Jews in the hypothetical U.S. scenario - it could be any minority group. When I read the book initially, I thought that it could be blacks or Hispanics; after encountering the anti-Semitism after 9/11, I had to consider that it could well be the Jews again.

re: #241 Walter L. Newton

It didn't work because the public didn't want it. It's rally a very good idea. A coin has a much better shelf life than currency, it's actually saves the government (us) money in production costs.

High value coinage has been used in Europe for ages. It's interesting that we have just started to use the fancy security measures in our currency. They had most of this in Europe for years.

If only we had high-value coinage. Time was, a quarter and a few pennies bought a gallon of gasoline. Not that it was much cheaper in real terms; you'd need 20 minutes labor to get your quarter. We should have $2 and $5 coins, as well as dollar coins. And get rid of that stupid penny already.

Before this notion that we can inflate our way to prosperity has lost its popularity, we are going to be looking at ten-dollar coins. Who wants to carry 80 quarters for bus fare daily?

The Arab Jew haters like this ignorant turd hate them because they can not match the Israelis in any metric of twentieth century achievement or social worth. They want someone else to destroy them because they are not up to the job. Their hatred is an admission that their culture is failing. Indeed, hatred itself is an admission of weakness. Most of these people would still be herding sheep in the desert if the sand wasn't saturated with oil. And what have they done with the money? Spent huge sums of it for arms to protect themselves, not from Israel but from their neighbors, or even their own citizens. There are DEMOCRAT Congresscritters out there who don't know that that provision is in this Stimulus Bill.
Can't blame 'em, I guess, the damned bill that Nancy Pelosi (D-Stupid) wrote is well over 700 pages long, and their staffers are only looking for stuff that might hurt the Democratic Congresscritters chances for re-election.

It might slightly reduce the immediate pain as compared to a complete crash of the financial system, but I don't think at this point this plan is worth the cost.

But again, if they had just dropped the mark to market, the true problem in the financial system would have been reduced by about half.

I think a "Resolution Trust part 2" move in combination with dropping the mark to market would work fairly well.

The sad thing is that there are so many people now, some even in high places in the government (certainly here in the UK) who think its perfectly reasonable to 'relieve' people from their sufferings.
Not that they define what 'suffering' means.
And tehre simply is not enough money being spent on palliative care, or even on simple education so that people know what to expect.

Instead they use the way we deal with our pets' illnesses as an example for a 'good way forward' - totally overlooking the profound differences.

Just look up to our northern neighbors to see our future. Rationing of procedures, long waiting lists for things we take for granted here. At least our pills will be cheap. We will be needing more pills since surgery or simple outpatient stuff will be 6 months on the list.....

Netherlands takes it the next step, if the patient cost benefit for medical care and utility to society doesn't pencil out, they take "active" measures.

. . .
BTW - those healthcare provisions don't apply to congresscritters or - if they've served long enough - retired congresscritters or the POTUS or former Presidents.

So, we now have a protected political "class" that's better than the rest of us.

Interesting.

I had the job one year of reviewing proposed legislation and reporting to my boss on those pieces that might affect the "business" we were in (state employment).

I cannot tell you what an awful job that was. For one thing, those things were virtually impossible to read, the way they are written.

Secondly - it was very often impossible to divine what the intent was, what the legislation was attempting to do. Very often, the actual intent doesn't become clear to anybody (including the legislators) until the regs are written.

I had the pleasure one day of being at a legislative committee meeting where one item on the agenda was an agency representative was going to present the regs written for a particular bill the legislators had approved.

EVERY MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE just about hit the ceiling when they heard what had been written. Several actually asked this question: Is that what we intended?

They had passed a bill NOT KNOWING the effect it would have.

It was amazing.

Well how down on it was she? I've seen articles by ecnomics professors - some quite liberal or leftist - who say that of the $900 Billion or so in the bill, less than $400 Billion is going to "stimulate" the economy and less than $125 Billion will do so in 2009; the breaks are in 2010 and 2012 - gee wonder why the gubmint would want to spend all that money in those years?!

She was, first of all, into the Kenysian "stimulus" idea to begin with... which I'm skeptical about. She thought the infrastructure spending was not "stimulus" per se, but not necessarily a bad idea, either. Surprisingly, she did NOT think the tax cuts would do much of anything in terms of "stimulus".

re: #11 buzzsawmonkey

Also from the article:

Some of the Jewish people used to live in Arab countries. There they lived like Arab citizens enjoying all the rights and duties.

They had to pay the duties--i.e., the jizya.

They had, of course, no "rights." Arabs have no rights in their own countries today, and Jews, of course, had fewer protections than the Arabs.

And, let us not forget, the reason Jews "used to live" in Arab countries is that they were expelled from those countries, and their property expropriated.

Those unfortunate to still be living in Arab countries are harassed, threatened and killed with near impunity. The solution is the same, have them leave their homes for other locations, until they just leave the country.
From their own Yemeni Times

It is interesting Essa bin Mohammed Al Zedjali's narrative reads similar to that of an apologists for the old Jim Crow south. i.e. Those down south were well behaved (because we gave them no freedom and suppressed them). Those from up north are trouble makers and are not welcome down south.

Essa then takes the next step and wants them expelled as the entire Jewish lot has been tainted by outside influences. That is apparently their fear of Israel, it has brought respect and a place for unabridged freedom to the Jews worldwide. It demonstrates a dual failure of the current Arab world, a lack of respect and a lack of freedom. Interestingly, a future Iraq that provides freedom and gains international respect may be a good example of the cure to the actual source of Arab hostility toward Israel. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Something I wrote on Qaradawi, the last Muslim cleric (and "moderate") to appear on this roll of dishonor. Just substitute Essa for Qaradawi and you have the same argument.

Let me see if I can make it real simple:

1. Williamson, an obscure schismatic would-be bishop, says vile things, and by revoking his excommunication, the Pope seemed to support them.

2. The Pope has demanded a retraction from W., which he will not get; therefore W. will have no official role in the Church.

3. People justifiably despise W. and take the Pope to task. Will the Pope cut W. off from communion? No. Does that infuriate some people? Yes. Can they say anything they like about it with impunity? Certainly.

Now, follow me closely, while I compare and contrast:

1. Sheikh al-Qaradawi, a prominent so-called "moderate" Muslim cleric with a worldwide audience and powerful supporters in the West, says vile things, and by not loudly condemning them, the great and powerful in the world seem to be condoning them.

2. As far as I am aware, no one in power in the West has demanded a retraction from him, or threatened him with expulsion if he comes to their countries, or canceled speaking engagements he may have, or otherwise said a word. He can be guest speaker at any MSA affair for all I know.

3. People justifiably despise Q., but no one takes his powerful friends to task. Will the West cut him off from visiting? Apparently not. Does that infuriate some people? Yes. Can they say anything they like about it with impunity? Not likely. They would be branded "racists", "Islamophobes", "haters" or worse.

Do you see the disconnect here? The Pope demands a retraction and cuts W. off from power. The world yawns at Q. and lets him go about his business.

So the Pope gets nothing but blame for W., though he has condemned him, while the silent Western establishment gets a pass on Qaradawi.

The world is oh-so-brave to excoriate Williamson, which in fact costs nothing, but chickenshit yellow about calling out Qaradawi.

Geert Wilders denied entry into Great Britain
Tuesday February 10 2009
"Great Britain sacrificing freedom of speech"

Geert Wilders has been denied entry into Great Britain. The leader of the PVV had been invited by a member of the British House of Lords to show Fitna in Parliament on Thrursday. However, today he received a letter from the British embassy in which he is denied entry into the UK.

According to Wilders "Great Britain is sacrificing her freedom of speech".
"This is the sort of thing you expect in Saoudi-Arabia, not in Great Britain. I think this cowardly attitude of the British government is really awful. I have simply been invited by a member of the British Parliament."

In the meantime Fitna has been shown in a number of countries, including Israel. Next week the film will be shown in the Italian Parliament and in a couple of weeks in the United States. Wilders is not sure whether he will resign himself to this state of affairs.

"I seriously consider putting the matter to the test by simply getting on a plane. Then I'll find out what happens. But I'll keep my options open because I first want to find out what the procedures are."

Text translated from the PVV website at Your text to link...

re: #549 Occasional Reader

She was, first of all, into the Kenysian "stimulus" idea to begin with... which I'm skeptical about. She thought the infrastructure spending was not "stimulus" per se, but not necessarily a bad idea, either. Surprisingly, she did NOT think the tax cuts would do much of anything in terms of "stimulus".

Classical Keynsian stimulus would include wisely directed spending AND broad based tax cuts. The Kensian cycle consists of cut spending and raise taxes when the economy is booming, & then cut taxes and raise spending when the economy is in recession. The thinking is that kind of intervention will even out the economic cycles.

The problem in practice has been that nearly every gov't gots it wrong. The Democrats raise spending and taxes during boom times, and then try to raise spending even more duirng recession. The Republicans cut taxes during boom times, which over heated the economy, and they never really cut spending all that much either.

So now the gov't has no cash in the bank to draw upon for spending, & no room to cut taxes by much. That leaves printing money for spending, which means inflation is coming our way in a year's time. But we won't be any further out of the economic recession, because the so-called "stimulus" bill isn't. A year from now we will be looking at Carteresque "stagflation" - inflation driven by currency devaluation, not by economic growth. The next step is hyper-inflation. Tax revenue will be falling, because there will be no growth, the Tresury will be out of money to fund another spending bill, the Chinese won't be willing to foot the bill again by lending anymore money. Is that bad enough? But were not done yet...

The Iranian problem will have reached a crisis point. Ether the Israelis will have bombed the Iranian nuclear facilities, which will drive the price of oil sky high, or the ISraelis didn't bomb the Iraninas, but the mullahs test a weapons, fears of a nuclear war mount, and the price of oil goes sky high.

Oh, btw did I mention the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq? How about how Obama deals with the Russians when the occupy eastern Ukraine? What about an imploding Norht Korea?

You get the picture.

No wonder, we witness American media relentlessly broadcasting false reports portraying Israel to the world as a state oppressed by the Arabs who are trying to uproot Israel. On the other hand, when Israel perpetrates unabashed massacres against the Arabs in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria or Egypt, they would be justified as acts carried out in self-defense to fend off uprooting threats. Israel manages to escape international punishment because it has the full support of some big powers led by superpower America who invariably reject the majority decisions of the UN Security Council if and when they condemn the inhuman practices of Israel against the Arabs.

Wow, I guess he has never heard of the UN and their one sided biases towards the Zionist people or address the anti-Semitic aspect of their agenda.
On another topic, I guess he doesn't know how all the Islamic states censor what they show in the media so they can manipulate the public to think in a one dimensional view... The extremists view.
