DUly noted.
It's curious how several of those "highly rated" blogs just happen to be NYT blogs - Krugman and Freakonomics and then the excitable Andy Sullivan.
Who exactly pays attention to what Sullivan says or does these days? After all, he's hot on the trail of Trig's birth certificate. At least Krugman and Freakonomics might have a kernel of information and useful information - or at least provide the basis for a good fisking. Sullivan isn't even worth that much.

It doesn't mean anything. If LGF was on their list, do you think it would mean anything to the Lizards? These kind of polls are only as strong as the weakness of the people they are targeting and I doubt that this is going to drive people away from KOS.

Time is obviously trying to shift back to a more mainstream centrist position, e.g.; its sales are down and now the election is over, it has to appeal to a broader base again. In order to do it, they have to denigrate/deprecate the more radical parts of the left--i.e.; Daily Kos. This is nothing new.

Rating blogs is fundamentally a matter of opinion. I don't care what Slime --I mean Time-- thinks.
Whether they say Kos is teh Winz0rs or Kos is teh Luz0rs, it wouldn't matter one bit to me. What matters is that I think the Kos is a waste of time. And Time is a waste of Kos.

“They keep getting more and more personal,” Martha Holland said. “It’s really getting deep.”She was surprised by the question asking her how many toilets are in her home and how much her water bill was. The ACS also asks in-depth questions about subjects such as family dynamics, education, ancestry, employment and disability.

The Hollands received a phone call from the Census Bureau nearly two weeks after receiving the survey asking them why they had not filled it out and returned it yet.
[...]
Anyone who refuses to answer the ACS could be fined up to $100 and receive phone calls and possibly even a home visit to get the answers. Those who willfully give false answers could be fined up to $500, according to Title 13 of the United States Code.

I disagree with this lack of faith in enlightening others.
It is very promising that Time on-line has thrown Kos under the bus.
Walter, do you honestly also think that all the exposures that Charles posts here on the fascists and anti-semitics and troofers, and scum of the Discovery Institute, and media bias and fauxtography, and the list of exposures goes on ...... do NOT help enlighten the minds of those that read it and brings about change in their thinking and reasoning on these subjects or people?
This is the OLD MEDIA dumping on the NEW MEDIA. It has nothing to do with fact or politics or any more than BUSINESS.

Screw them...I'll only answer the basic questions, the rest will get the standard "none of your damn business" line...like I did last census.
Last census I got the long form, I filled in only the how many in the house and sent it in. I got a visit later from a census worker asking for the rest of the information. I told him to get a subpoena and come back.

This bill is stimulating Wall St, all right; it is stimulating people to SELL.
Commodities like gold are getting snatched up.

I'll say it again IMHO... this is the OLD MEDIA dumping on the NEW MEDIA. It has nothing to do with fact or politics. It only has to do with BUSINESS. TIME is trying to draw readership away from these sites. It's a hit list.
Gosh, does anyone really think TIME is being reasonable? If you do, you really have been fooled. Just like TIME wants to you be.

Most people don't have the sense of mind to know what is required by the Constitution and what isn't. That is how people who don't want terrorists wire-tapped due to privacy concerns can garner dossiers on Americans and their private lives.

There were protests in denver yesterday against the bill. I don't know about today.
Yes today too.
Here's a Question, will George Soros (or a bunch of other rich Dems) start a stock rally at signing time to make it look like a Porkulous Rally? I wonder.

Most of their Top 25 are crap, with the exception of Lileks, and maybe the Pioneer Woman blog (hmmm... recipes), and Detention Slip.

Of course he was lying. Geraghty over at NRO says, repeatedly, that all Obama promises come with an expiration date.

Yes, Walter- it's business. And sadly, people still buy the crap the media pushes off on them as being news or talent. Some people are "celebrities" simply because the media promotes them to that status. Paris Hilton, anyone? So when the media dumps on someone- it can have an effect. And I'm fine with that in this case, because really- screw them.

Time has lost its mission, and its increasingly pointless articles read like talking points from the Democratic National Committee.

Oh, you mean they did it separately.

Babalu Blog is another good Cuban-American, anti-Castro blog. He's the guy who confronted Carlos Santana about wearing a Che shirt on stage.

I think the influence of political blogs is generally overblown. Most people I know can't name one political blog, and they do surf the 'Net so it's not that they are computer challenged. I'm one of the few people I know who actually visits such blogs.
That might explain a lot in my case. Maybe I just need to get a life. ;-)

The Daily Kos is good...... FOR ME TO POOP ON.
Anotehr example of the leftists turning on each other. Just goes to show that KOS is another useful idiot in the socalist party.

Still-- TIME and Newsweek are part of the Obama campaign.
152 | teleskiguy Tue, Feb 17, 2009 10:17:28am |
Right after the election, Kos was barking orders at the new administration, it was good to go to that site to see what the lefties were demanding of their annointed one. Now, as Time says so succinctly, it's just a list of talking points from the DNC. Besides, the DNC, Time, Kos and all the rest of the moonbats that deal in unconstrained visions are so detached from reality that they don't deserve our attention.
153 | Wendya Tue, Feb 17, 2009 10:30:44am |
It's the same Kos as it was before the election.... only now, they're not needed and they're a distration from the adoration demanded by the messiah and his followers.

Even they aren't going to stand in the way of this train (wreck)....
Still, maybe they can file "hate crime" charges against individual traders who dared sold shares today, thus embarrassing The One. Call them "counter-revolutionary short-sellers who are non-believers of The Plan."
(oops, hope I didn't give the Obama-led SEC an idea)

Speaking of Sullivan's blog, I wonder if the choice of graphic for his TIME entry was a silent little protest by the art editor, or just delightful synchronicity?
(The headline on the screenshot of The Daily Dish by Andrew Sullivan reads "Mental Health Break" -- hyuk, hyuk!)

Does anyone know where one could find traffic volume to Kos and other such sites? It may be interesting to see if they are getting less traffic to the website then in the previous years.

Screw them...I'll only answer the basic questions, the rest will get the standard "none of your damn business" line...like I did last census.
I did the same in 2000. I got the "extra intrusive form" and freaked out. I marked the number of occupants, left the rest blank and sent it back. They sent a census worker to my door three times. Each time I told them I would provide information required for a population count and nothing more. I was never fined and eventually they gave up on me.

If they're in order, then Daily Kos is the #1 most overrated blog.
Or #5, if they're in reverse order.
In any event, if I were ever put into the same bag as Jim Cramer, I might have to shoot myself.

I especially liked the "talking points" thingy.
What is that Markos guy going to do now? ShamWow?
