Islamic Scholars with Fists Firmly Clenched Meet in Istanbul to Plot Murder

Middle East • Views: 3,849

Over the weekend, more than 200 of the top clerics and scholars of the Religion of Peace™ met in “moderate” Istanbul to call for murdering lots more Jews, and to promise their support to the terrorist gang Hamas.

At a weekend meeting in Istanbul, 200 religious scholars and clerics met with senior Hamas officials to plot a new jihad centred on Gaza.

The BBC’s Bill Law was the only Western journalist at the meeting.

In a hall crowded with conservative Sunni Muslim sheikhs and scholars, in a hotel close to Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport speaker after speaker called for jihad against Israel in support of Hamas.

The choice of Turkey was significant. Arab hardliners were keen to put aside historic differences with the Turks.

As one organiser put it: “During the past 100 years relations have been strained but Palestine has brought us together.”

Many delegates spoke appreciatively of the protest by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who stormed out of a Davos debate on Gaza two weeks ago. …

Mohammed Nazzal, a senior Hamas leader based in Damascus, challenged Arab governments to “open their borders and allow the fighters to come.”

Delegates from all over the Middle East, and from Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan and Indonesia applauded as he stabbed the air with a raised finger and declared: “There will be no agreement with Israel… only weapons will bring respect.”

Mr Nazzal told his audience: “Don’t worry about casualties.”

More importantly, this conference represented something of a coup for Hamas. They were promised weapons, money and fighters.

I don’t get it. Didn’t Obama just reach out to the Muslim world? Weren’t they listening to his message of hope, change, and unclenched fists?

Bad, Bad, Sick. This one has done it for me: Turkey is over the mill dam. Wave goodbye to tolerance, say hello to sharia. I wish this were not true but I fear that it is.

Just keep repeating this to yourself until this doesn't concern you anymore.

"Tiny minority, tiny minority, tiny minority, tiny minority..."

As usual, if just repeating this phrase doesn't work, I recommend doing it after taking a mild sedative. You might also ask a friend to help you bury your head in some sand.

Mr Nazzal told his audience: "Don't worry about casualties."

The 23 days of bombardment of Gaza, in which some 1,300 people, many of them civilians and nearly 300 of them children, are believed to have died, was "just the beginning" of the struggle, Mr Nazzal said.

To laughter in the audience, another speaker noted that twice as many babies were born as children were killed during the war.

Every death, I was told, was a martyrdom on the road to liberation.

Foucault's Pendulum was very good. But you can't read it as just a novel.. It is almost like a biography of the characters, all leading up to the last 50 pages where the "action" really starts. Some of the chapters could be read as stand alone essays, but they all have a textual connection to each other.

And you really can see what the point is if you can make it to the end. But, I suspect a lot of people don't make it all the way through.

re: #22 Perpetua

I don't understand why the Arabs are screwing around with rinky-dink numbers like this. The media will automatically repeat everything they put forth. If you're gonna just make stuff up, why not go with this:

During the 23 days of Israeli attacks, over 800,000 Palestinians were killed, and every one of them was an innocent civilian. More than 90% of the dead were children under the age of ten. In addition, some nine million Gazans were injured by a secret new Israeli ray gun that causes men's testicles to shrink, and causes women's eyeballs to leap out of their heads and explode. IDF soldiers were seen scraping the exploded eyeball goo off of the ground and spreading it on matzohs, which they then ate.

This was the first Eco I have read, although I had heard of the book. I saw the movie "The Name of the Rose" but didn't connect it with Eco until I picked up the book and read the list of other works.

I was tickled with two main concepts. One, that it has to be "true" because everyone keeps repeating it, such as the theories about the Templars.

And, it has to remain a secret, even if the secret is that there is no secret, because otherwise, no one wants to know the secret.

Two simple observations, but the foundation of so much misunderstanding throughout the ages.

Turkey has made a big mistake to allow this conference to take place in Istanbul. Considering the international implication of those involved: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Palestine. This act is amplified by the fact that Turkey is a NATO member.

This puts their additional membership in the European Union doubt even though in my opinion, Turkey should never have even been considered to become an EU member.

"... only weapons will bring respect."

respect from whom?

How, exactly, are they defining respect?

Well, if you doft your hat after Israel decimates them, that would be respect, but if you leave your hat on after you bury the dead, it shows contempt for them and their cause.
So assuming you worked up a sweat, and paused to wipe your brow, that would be construed as respect because you removed your hat, if only to wipe away sweat.

They're unclenching! They're unclenching!

Assad urges U.S. to rebuild diplomatic road to Damascus

Referring to Obama's call for countries to "unclench their fists" , Assad said he believed the new US president had been referring to Iran. "We never clenched our fist," he declared. "We still talked about peace even during the Israeli aggression in Gaza." ... Later this week, Assad will see Senator John Kerry, the influential chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee and the most senior American to visit Damascus in years. Kerry has been advocating the swift return of a US ambassador, which was withdrawn in 2005 after the murder of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri. The killing was widely blamed on Syria, despite strenuous denials from Damascus.

Of course, Syria will continue supplying weapons to genocidal terrorists while making all these peaceful overtures. And that reminds me of another faux Arab proverb: "While the left fist unclenches, the right fist raises a dagger."

re: #88 Walter L. Newton

Try reading the Island of the Day Before. . Just thinking about that one makes my brain hurt.

While trying to digest Foucault's, I was constantly reminded of a marketing principle I was taught when I used to organize direct mailers. I can't write about it well. It had to do with putting your name in front of the customer 12 times. The more mailers, over time did translate into more business. Then, for a while, my mind wandered to the "self-fulfilling prophecy" & the old adage "Tell a lie often enough and people will believe it is true."

This is how my mind works while reading Ecco. I never get a chance to sort it all out.

In case you were wondering how the Democratic Party plans to explain the fact that the great stimulus of 2009 didn't work: it's because it wasn't big enough!

The economy has been deteriorating at such an accelerating rate in recent months that the administration had to expand the size of the stimulus package far beyond what they originally envisioned. If the economy continues to sink - and signs around the globe point in that direction - even this package will not be big enough. And economists of almost every stripe complain that its impact was weakened during the political wrangling.

Hunted down? Perish the thought. They're being invited into the country as persecuted refugees (persecuted because they're members of illegal terrorist groups). They're being given a free house, relocation expenses, and a grant to start their own business. And they're being given a few hundred grant anytime they feel like wearing a jihadist T-shirt onto an airplane, getting kicked off, and then suing the airline.

But Anderson Cooper was right when he said

Nobody knows the answers to all the questions just over the horizon. What insiders do recognize is that President Obama will need the political skills of an FDR and the tenacity of a Lincoln to help the country navigate through the storms that are coming.

And unfortnately all we have is Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

re: #233 So? So? With respect, a lot of muslims here have family in Muslim or Islamic lands. I have two Pakistani friends who, after being friends for a couple of years, would speak to me about it. They know that if they are identified here in the USA, the headchoppers in Pakistan will kill their mothers, fathers and sibilings. How, you might ask, do they know that? Because they were warned that that's what would happen if they didn't shut up.
Who told them? The Immans in their Mosque (and each attends a different Mosque down here).

That's no lie and no fucking joke either.

Diabetic neuropathy. Ouch. Hope the pain goes away quickly.

Sweet dreams, Nana, and have a great day tomorrow.

Does this MD look like he would blow anyone up?

G'nite, all. Diabetic neuropathy has really been getting to me all day and even now, for the first time in ages. Going to try to sleep. And my blood tests are all excellent.

Sweet dreams!

You can see I didn't say all. He looks like a very fine fellow. Take care.

266 So?  Tue, Feb 17, 2009 11:00:48pm

In the past I have had many left wing lib friends whose argument went something like this: I have muslim friends and they're nothing like those terrorists or imams. They're good people and eat American pie and they don't agree with the Jihadi terrorists. To which I would always ask, so what are they doing about it? Why are they allowing a few barbarians to tarnish their heritage? To usurp their religion.

Answer: SILENCE.

The thing that kills me is that many of the so-called moderates who are so friendly and likable marched in recent rallies where fellow muslims held signs saying "Jews are our dogs" and were dressed as Hamas waiving Hamas flags. And I don't have to mention the other placards in other cities around the world. So, the so-called "moderates" speak up, when they want to. The last few months have truly shown me what is a "just cause" in their eyes. Not all, as only X percent participated in these hate fests which were supposed to be peace rallies. So the normally silent ones DO come out. They come out and get into a frenzy over Israeli brutality.

Uh, could you remind me of the educational backrounds of the 9/11 hi-jackers?
There have been Muslim Doctors, Engineers etc.plotting, and blowing themselves
up in this world. So please spare me the educated crap.

My point exactly. Do you misread what I wrote?

Then the police or FBI should go and investigate the imams in their mosques. Come on, there are 1 billion muslims! Maybe some sacrifice needs to be made to cleanse their religion of the filth. Democracy was won here though spilt blood. You're talking about 2 friends. There are a billion muslims. And the majority are sane and intelligent, at least that's what is claimed.

That means 90% aren't. Your turn to Do the math. And the sooner they speak up and round up the head choppers the sooner this bloody messy will be over. There needs to be a concerted campaign, effort by all western nations or democracies. Even countries like Russia and China need to step up to the plate, as they are always let off the hook. If it isn't stopped now, your 10% will soon blossom into 15%. Throughout history, Freedom was never achieved without the spilling of blood, unfortunately.

So keep sarc-ing away every time one of these articles appear. The cute comebacks and facetious remarks will really solve the problem. Monthly Townhall meetings, debates, TV and university forums, should be a regular occurrence. And the kinds articles and videos which appear here on LGF should be what "is" debated amongst muslims in America. Not the Israeli/Palestine issue. Because that is a cop-out. We need solutions. Not sarc comments. And the solutions aren't going to come from any government or politician.

There is nothing they can do or say that will convince me that they're ready to join civilization.

May Allah have mercy on their souls. They have yet to convince me that they deserve such mercy.

Charles, my apologies. Delete this comment if you must... but I was under the impression that this needed to be said.

The true tragedy here is that they cannot admit that their attitudes are what his holding them to the 7th century. Once they evolve beyond that point, I'm sure that we can talk to them.

I look forward to that day, but I do not expect them the abide by it.

Mohammed Nazzal, a senior Hamas leader based in Damascus, challenged Arab governments to “open their borders and allow the fighters to come.”

Delegates from all over the Middle East, and from Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan and Indonesia applauded as he stabbed the air with a raised finger and declared: “There will be no agreement with Israel... only weapons will bring respect.”

Mr Nazzal told his audience: “Don’t worry about casualties."

This sounds to me like a warm-up exercise for Durban II - which (even though the agenda has long been set) BHO seems to naively believe the US can "influence" by its presence at planning meetings.

Incidentally, in a pre-Canada-visit interview tonight on CBC, your noble pres said (re Taliban, Afghanistan etc): "I am absolutely convinced that you cannot solve the problem of Afghanistan, the Taliban, the spread of extremism in that region solely through military means. We're going to have to use diplomacy, we're going to have to use development, and my hope is that in conversations that I have with Prime Minister Harper, that he and I end up seeing the importance of a comprehensive strategy ..." [transcript is here

Yes, that's the ticket ... "a comprehensive strategy". Now why didn't I think of that?!

When you "reach out" to these thugs you risk having the extended appendage lopped off. The ever repeating cycle goes on as a new generation of idiotic politicians try their luck. These cycles will end when the bad guys win once which is all they need.

293 Dom  Wed, Feb 18, 2009 4:54:12am

Who first decided to call Islamist extremists "conservative scholars"? What a smartass trick.

294 marsl  Wed, Feb 18, 2009 5:30:49am

Mr Nazzal told his audience: “Don’t worry about casualties.”

Then why all that cry about genocides, massacres and so on when Americans and Israelis kick your asses?

Ok, now I get it: don't worry about Israeli (Jews) casualties.....

295 blangwort  Wed, Feb 18, 2009 6:13:29am

Mohammed Nazzal: "Don't worry about casualties."

Lord Farquaad (from Shrek): "Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make."

The latter was intended to be parody. The former? I really don't know what to think any more. With friendly support like that, the Israelis are the least of Gaza's worries.

In a perfect world (RIIIIGHT!) we would pull funding from any country that had a sanctioned member present at this farce. Unfortunately, "The One" will not have the guts to step up... that would require testosterone which I think he is lacking.

297 gatorbait  Wed, Feb 18, 2009 6:29:27am

Has it not occurred to anyone in our administration that we are at war here? When will the left learn that conciliatory words spoken to the enemy provokes a bellicose response? Shimon Peres today acknowledged that Israeli evacuation of Gaza was a grievous mistake. At least one hapless fool seems to have woken from slumber. Obama, Rahm, Axelrod, Pelosi, Reed, and Frank ought to follow suit. I am not optimistic about this, however.

And they wonder why we are becoming Islamophobic, just because they do want to kill us all. I think we must contact our dhimmi legislators and let them know we are for cutting off Islamic emigration to our shores. Just the other day I was shopping and saw a woman with her head scarf and it was all I could do not to tear it off her head and trample it. But instead I just gave her a disapproving, malevolent stare. They are making me think of doing bad things!

Agreed. Turkey has made its choice, now we should start imposing consequences for that choice.

Good luck with that. Bambi's probably got some "special envoy" over there right now offering the Turks the sun and the moon if they'll provide Bambi a good photo-op surrounded by a group of smiling, turbaned men.

The anti-Semitism of the Muslims has nothing to do with how backward they are. The Germans were one of the most advanced cultures on the face of the earth, and look at what they did to the Jews.

The problem is values, values, values. Muslims, in general, have very bad values, just like the Germans used to have.

Agreed. I can't see how this ends with anything but a major conflict of civilizations.

It's too bad there can't just be an Islamic Iron Curtain and they can all go to hell behind it. Sadly though it seems they MUST visit their hell upon the rest of us.

More gloom and doom, Global Warring verbiage from a mere 200 of the very highest leaders within the RoP and the band plays on in Titanic pentameter!

Any reasonable non-RoPer one should think something big this way and Israel's way comes. How many times and ways do they have to shout it at us. Evidently, the 'free' world is in dire need of a functioning hearing aid as well as new specs...I know there's no vision down there, but how well does sound travel beneath sand?
