'Operation New Hope' will allow the local and provincial governments to begin projects focusing on restoring essential services to the citizens of Mosul," said Major Ramona Bellard, a U.S. military spokeswoman in northern Iraq.

While Bellard described it as a joint operation between U.S. and Iraqi forces, Abdullah said local troops would call on their U.S. counterparts for backup "only when required."

Good news.

No , the MSM can't allow that. BHO framed Iraq as the bad war & Afghanistan as the good war. I expect them to spin it, that Obama achieved the best possible outcome, but that the entire effort makes us less secure.
Obama will be made to look heroic on Afghanistan & if things go South, they'll just blame Bush.

Here's WHERE YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE GOING.
Jizyah to murderers and terrorists.

/have a nice day.

Sad, but not really as surprise. It's that "Spends money like a drunken sailor" syndrome.

No offense to any drunken sailors out there reading this post... you are different... aren't you?

Are the women in that culture allowed to wag?

I figured that was another men-only directive from Alan.

Maybe they can walk briskly to and fro, to and fro.

Don't know, but I think he did in chrissy matthews.

Well, Obama's a-spendin', and CNN's a-spinnin':

Dow and S&P at '97 lows

The Dow and S&P 500 tumbled to levels not seen in nearly 12 years Monday, as investors continue to worry that the government's efforts to slow the recession won't be sufficient.

That's right, CNN. Investors love the porkulus -- their only fear is that it might not be big enough. What they're asking for, begging for, really, is an even bigger spending package.

"Yet these days, al Qaeda in Iraq is like a piranha fish with no scales; it's still alive and flopping around on shore, but the dwindling piranha school cannot be happy. The villagers have been helping to net them up and scale them."

I love this imagery. Go villagers!

All the aQ piranha need do is standby because soon Obama will provide plenty of fresh water for them to operate in...everyday as Obama gets more and more zombieotic support from his fellow Dems and a few swooning Republicans watch as our troops leave Iraq quickly for the flesh-eating fish to resume their terrorist ways.

I suspect a Clintonesque "Black Hawk Down" number (contingent) of handcuffed troops will be left for the murdering scum to feed upon. After this, we will be as gone as our Somali forces were during Clinton's admin. De-assing, retreat, capitulation, military failure, defeatism and shame are Democrats' ultimate wet dreams...Viet-Nam is their centerfold!
