Feds: Chelsea court clerk offered hooker favors for sex

A Chelsea court clerk has been accused of trading sexual favors with a prostitute who allegedly gave him oral sex in the city courthouse in exchange for his efforts to get her case dropped, according to a federal affadavit.

James Burke, 41, was charged today in U.S. Federal Court in Boston with one count of attempted deprivation of rights under the color of law and one count of deprivation of rights under the color of law, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He made his initial appearance this morning in federal court. He was released on a $10,000 personal surety bond, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The prostitute, identified in court papers as the “cooperating witness,” was in Chelsea District Court in December 2008 with her attorney when she saw Burke, and told her lawyer that she had given him oral sex in the courthouse in 2005.

I don't think so, even though Bonamassa is apparently sponsored by Gibson. His signature model is some kind of Les Paul variant.

This guitar is a hollowbody Fender Telecaster clone with an red and yellow iridescent sunburst finish.

I've put the You Tube vid into high-def and blown it up on my monitor, but I can't quite make out the brand name on the guitar headstock. Still, it doesn't appear to be "Gibson".

It might just be a custom Fender, though label on the headstock is NOT the usual Fender logo either.

I'd rather a bottle of Scotch.

Danny Gatton and BB let him play with them when was a teenager. Ever hear Danny? Danny... Joe is what a bluesplayer is; All of what he listens to and admires. Joe plays the smaller spots now. That will change.

don't know about the SRV influence, but the ending is lifted straight off peter frampton's 'do you feel like we do,' live version. king crimson's in there as well - '21st century schizoid man.' killer playing, and good taste too.

I saw this post, and remembered that I gave up blues shredding for Lent, but c'mon, we're talking Joe here. Couldn't resist. Downed a whole bag of Kettle-cooked Cape Cod BBQ potato chips and a Sam Adams cherry wheat during the 9:12 performance. I needed the energy to keep up with Joe.

Last time I saw Joe, he was throwing in some Zeppelin and ZZ Top riffs in the extended versions of JB songs. Just Got Paid, Dazed and Confused... Joe is the real deal.

Jeff Beck and Frank Zappa were in a car, and ran over ZZ Top and Pete Frampton ... and it still sounded better than this. He's tryin' too hard, and singin' too little.

My old beater Tele in the corner has been saying 'practice you lazy idiot' for a long time. This is all I need now. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya.

I have seen this guy 4 times and am ready for more. The first time very rock influenced - the rest blues (glad of that). I took some photos and sent one to a friend in Chicago. He was going to see him and I wanted it signed. My friend "sig-other" took a picture of the signing. He sent that to me and Joe signed that one after the explanation.

He ROCKS!

BTW he has a collection of about 600 guitars!

Another BTW - he doesn't have that bass player with him anymore - artistic differences I suppose!

Good tune- what a great looking guitar! Even though I'm a Robin Trower fan from 1973 onward, I didn't really get the Trower vibe from this. However, "Waitin' for the Bus" makes a clear appearance at the 7:15 mark (more or less) and in fact that is one of the song's main licks. The Frampton thing at the end is more obvious. In general this is much more Joe Satriani than SRV, imho. The ZZ top reference reminds me of the way Johnny Winter used to throw in Stones licks in the middle of his songs (probably still does, but I can't say for sure).

That was awesome!

He's got a real "outside" thing going on from about 1:19 to 1:30. I never heard SRV play like that.

I didn't hear Trower in there at all, but I got a kick out of the ZZ Top and Peter Frampton cameo appearances in there. Loved every second of it!

i used to watch "Rockpalast" when I lived in Germany and recorded a Rory
Gallagher concert.
This guy is quite good but still needs more practice and more originality to
reach standards set by Jeff Beck or Robin Trower;still I hope he does; we need
youngsters to challenge the old maestros.
Just listened to a David Gilmore concert(with David Bowie,Graham Nash et al).
Now that lad can really play and has an individual style and sound signature
which is almost immediately identifiable.
BTW he's pinched a bit of Peter Green(Oh Well)in his opening riff.

Joe may not like this, but in my opinion he is the next ambassador for the blues. So many of the Mississippi to Chicago blues men are leaving this world. Buddy Guy and B.B. are still with us and shall be cherished forever. Joe has the vocals and guitar mastery to carry the movement forward. I have seen him several times and he never gets old. His new CD coming in March is entitled "The Ballad of John Henry" I will add it to my collection. God Bless the great men and women from the Delta that have given us this truly American treasure.

Its great right up untill he opens his mouth. Guitar players should just shut the hell up and play.
