FBI Searches Office of Obama’s Chief Technology Officer

US News • Views: 2,999

Yes, it’s another scandal involving an Obama appointee: FBI raids office of D.C. CTO, Obama appointee.

Federal agents this morning are searching the office of Washington, D.C.’s Chief Technology Officer.

The search of the office at 1 Judiciary Square is part of “an ongoing investigation,” said a spokeswoman for the FBI’s D.C. Field Office, Lindsay Gotwin, said. She said two men, Yusuf Acar and Sushil Bansal, had been arrested.

Acar is an information security officer who was also, according to online requests for proposals, responsible for contracting. Bansal is listed on the city’s procurement website as the CEO of the Advanced Integrated Technologies Corporation, which was awarded two technology contracts last year worth a total of $350,000.

Arrests made, searches still ongoing. Obama's appointment of Vivek Kundra to his chief information officer may be thrown in doubt, but I doubt whether his vetters could have learned of the bribery scheme and the federal investigation prior to now without damaging the investigation in the first place. He probably got blindsided on this one. So far, no evidence of Kundra's own wrongdoing, but the stench of wrongdoing is evident.

Again, from down thread:

Sorry, missed that, but we discussed the CBO list of options last month. The report listing that option was released before BHO was POTUS (early Jan) and prepared last year. It was one of dozens of options to be considered and I'm confident neither GW,BHO or Congress would choose it. You can call me on it, if it is, but the CBO just submits budget options, none of which need to be approved.

Budget.

A thought expiriment to ponder: Imagine If today were the end of this administration....through impeachment, perhaps. How would honest historians rate his Presidency? No doubt, they would have to say it was a failure and very possibly the worst start for any admin. in history.

If Obama keeps this up, he will certainly be one of the least successful Presdidents ever.....This man-child Obama was, and is, not up to the job. From my inbox:

The election is over. It is time to repair friendships with the other party. Governor Sarah Palin is doing her part to do just that.

The rest of the world cannot understand how, after bitter election campaigns, American politicians can kiss and make-up.

For instance, Gov. Palin has invited, to her great state of Alaska, the men who defeated her, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. She has set up a moose hunting trip for their enjoyment and hired three prominent experts in their field to assist them.

Dick Cheney will lead them on the hunt, Ted Kennedy will drive them back to their cabins each evening, and Bill Clinton will entertain their wives and daughters.

Obama official not a target in FBI raid: spokesperson

The FBI raided the former office of Obama administration official Vivek Kundra in a corruption probe on Thursday but Kundra is not a target of the investigation, a spokeswoman for Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty said.

The FBI was searching the offices of the District of Columbia's chief technology officer, a position formerly held by Kundra, as it investigates employees for corruption there, spokeswoman Mafara Hobson said.

President Barack Obama named Kundra to be the federal government's chief information officer last week.

Sushil Bansal, a father of two, runs a company in Washington, DC. Thanks to technology, he can take care of much of his business while spending time with his daughters Antara and Saranga. The broadband service on his smart phone keeps him connected with his office and that is how he is able to manage most of his work with the help of his laptop. "These gadgets help me stay connected with my business even though I am outside the office," he told us.

Yet, I could see incompetence more with Carter and Clinton, but this guy seems radically different (wolf in sheeps clothing kind)... there is a clear history with his associations. While I really want to believe there is no conspiracy, there is no big plan to take down capitalism, there are sure red flags, things that could have been avoided even by the most incompetent of players...

Sushil Bansal, President & CEO
Sushil is an energetic leader and manages a fast growing IT consulting firm, AITC, located in the District of Columbia. He truly believes in understanding the needs of customers and to provide innovative business solutions to enable the customers to meet business objectives more effectively and efficiently. He also worked with AMS-CGI and SAIC and provided IT consulting and project management services to the Department of Defense, US Navy, Department of Homeland Security, the Commerce Department, the Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Agriculture, the Federal Communications Commission, and several other civilian federal agencies. He holds MBA and MA in Economics from SUNY, NY. He also attained ABD status in the Economics Ph.D. program at SUNY, Stony Brook, New York. His special interests are reading, tennis, swimming, golf, skiing, ice-skating and playing with children. "According to the two posted responses to a very similar question, the short answer is that the mark is a "tika" (which, when circular is also known as a "bindi") and is meant to signify that a woman is married. The traditional tika were made of vermilion paste, ash, or sandalwood, whereas now they are usually created with more conventional liquids or powders (or even stickers!). Apparently, the symbolism of the bindi is no longer strictly followed and they are largely used as "beauty accoutrements."

and

"The red dot is called 'Pottu' in the south and 'Bindhi' in the north (of India). It represents the point where the soul is. Men and women use to apply the red dot on the forehead. When one looks at another, he/she is reminded that a soul resides in the body, thus treating the soul with dignity and respect. It also represents a married woman if the dot is applied in 'saffron' (powder made of tumeric and lime). Revolution has seen lesser men and women adorning this red dot. New and 'modern' forms of this red dot has emerged in the form of stickers, glitters and in all shapes and sizes.
Sometimes ash is worn on the forehead too, this symbolizes. 'To ash we return' Meaning, that we will all one day return to ash. (Hindu's are cremated) This ash is applied after praying, either in one's home or in the Temple. It also reinforces the belief that nothing is permanent in this world. Hope this answers your question. Thank u."

Well, well, well...I've been waiting for Obama pull this one...

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance. …

No official proposal to create such a program has been announced publicly, but veterans groups wrote a pre-emptive letter last week to President Obama voicing their opposition to the idea after hearing the plan was under consideration.

The groups also cited an increase in “third-party collections” estimated in the 2010 budget proposal — something they said could be achieved only if the Veterans Administration started billing for service-related injuries.

Asked about the proposal, Shinseki said it was under “consideration.”

“A final decision hasn’t been made yet,” he said.

Even that NY senatorship would likely have been more difficult had Bill not pardoned the Puerto Rician terrorists for her.

But now it goes 1. First Lady of Arkansas 2. First Lady of America 3. NY Senator 4. Sec. o' State 5. potential VP 6. POTUS

Why not? How well we remember the many and varied legislative accomplishments in her career. There was...uh...errm...well, anyway, it's about time we had a female President, don't you think?

Speaking from personal experience, the military is not a constituency that President Obama has a great deal of pupularity with. Sure, there are a few folks who supported him but the vast majority of us were anti-obama (3 of 60 pilots at my unit supported Obama).

I'm sure this is a calculated move. He knows he won't pick up many votes no matter what he does for the military so why not throw them under the bus and give healthcare to illegals who he knows will vote for him in droves. This is nothing more than a vote buying trick, save money by making the military pay and give healthcare to a constituency who will reward him with votes. Obama hates the military and this is just his first salvo against them.

He has to know that no one in Congress would tolerate it - on either side of the aisle.

And the fact a lot of these attacks emanated from women makes it just that much more disgusting. I think too many people think of misogyny as a male on female phenomenon, when the fact is women can be horribly cruel to each other. Women don't even want to consider the issue of their own misogyny. And somehow I'm supposed to think in a climate like this that it's possible for a woman to achieve the heights of elected power? I just don't think it can happen. They are truly rabid when it comes to Governor Palin and they know all the buttons to push. They sway people from left to right and everyone in between. They've got her labeled a 'Creationist' so 'moderates' won't vote for her. The articles they're writing about this recent judicial appointment scream the Planned Parenthood theme, so the socons are throwing her under the bus. They find a couple of pigs from the McCain camp to make up some stuff (that they won't go on record with and no one can back up) and leftists, snobcons and 'moderates' jump up and down saying she's an idiot. Heck, Dana Milbank gave a completely personal, unverifiable accounting of someone yelling 'kill him' at one of her rallies and that was picked up hook, line and sinker.

It's sad, but people of all political stripes are easily manipulated by the media. And the MFM knows it and isn't ashamed to use it.

It's an obvious message. I wouldn't want any of my family members to go through that. Good women will hesitate, and those who love them will talk them out of running for office. I hope I'm wrong, but unless something changes, I don't see a lot of hope for women breaking through the political glass ceiling in the near future.

I don't think you're completely wrong- they were motivated by political expediency, but the culture didn't blink in the face of it. It was accepted political tactics apparently. Because it was accepted and not widely condemned, we'll see more of it. Again I ask- what woman wants to deal with that?

I don't care whose idea it was. Obama shouldn't be "considering" it.

I don't think he's supposed to just toss the CBO's idea's in the trash. He'll consider, and reject it and even if he was dumb enough not to, Congress will. There are equally as dumb options in that report, that will be tossed. If you want to get upset, how about the cutting of millions of Vets from the report put togeather last year. Comments about the Jan report:

"In an interview, Edwards dismissed the CBO cost-cutting ideas aimed at raising veterans' out-of-pocket costs or bouncing two million vets from the VA health system because they suffer from no service-related conditions.

"Some of these don't have the chance of a snowball in hell of being passed by Congress," Edwards said. "CBO was simply doing its job to outline what the options are. But a number of those are dead before arrival."

Now I know were related, Cousin Fist. That was very well put. As a woman who considers herself a feminist, the organized groups of women are not something I'm interested in joining because they have so politicized the issue that I just can't be a party to it. I believe in a woman's right to self determination, and thy believe in leftism. It's not the same thing. And I'm sure they're not interested in having me anyways because I would demand a return to the real principle of feminism. In the rare cases they stand up for that, I applaud them. That they don't do it consistently or even frequently is exactly why we still have many of these issues- because they took their eye off the ball. Shame on them.

WABC radio is kind of strange, no?

Makes all its $ from conservative talk shows, and when it cuts to the news, it's absolutely moonbattery.

You noticed that too. The excessively breathy chick is the worst. It's as if the 'newspeople' feel it necessary to pull out all the noonbat stops to combat Limbaugh.

re: #238 pbird

I often sleep while listening to the radio. I started that right after 9-11. Now I often have weird dreams about Rush Limbaugh. Sad, really.

I do that.
Often drift off to "Coast to Coast" and end up dreaming about aliens, Bigfoot, and The Philadelphia Experiment, etc.
