Dead Man Talking

Released through Al Jazeera, the terror-friendly Arab network that continues trying to gain a foothold in the US, here’s another tedious rant from “Osama bin Laden” calling on all Muslims to kill Jews, take over Iraq, take over Jordan, and wipe out Israel. Same old same old.

And of course, the Gaza offensive was a ‘holocaust’.

“It was clear that some of the Arab leaders have collaborated with the Crusader-Zionist alliance against our people, those whom America calls the moderate leaders,” said bin Laden. “We must disown ourselves from all those” governments. …

It was bin Laden’s second audio message on the Gaza offensive since January, when he urged Muslims to launch a jihad against Israel. It was not possible to verify the message’s authenticity. A spokesman for Al-Jazeera refused to say how the network obtained the recording.

“The Gaza holocaust, amid this prolonged embargo, is an important historic event and a catastrophe that shows the necessity of distinguishing Muslims from hypocrites,” he said. “It is not right that our situation after Gaza will be as it used to be before. There should be serious work and preparation for jihad to fulfill righteousness and defeat evil.”

Bin Laden called on faithful Muslims to support militants in Iraq and said that country should be used as a departure point for attacks on Israel. He suggested fighters use a route from Iraq through Jordan and into the West Bank. He said supporting fighters in Iraq was a “rare and precious chance” for ultimately taking control of Jerusalem. After taking control of Iraq, he said, fighters should then head to neighboring Jordan.

“Jordan … is the best and widest front, and from Jordan the second launching will be toward the West Bank and the borders will be forcibly opened,” he said.

I expect Obama to send Osama a "reset button" giftbox any day now.

Hillary Clinton will airkiss the recipient, just like she did during the go-go Clinton years.

I'll thank you not to utter the names Osama and Generalissimo Franco in the same breath. Keep your former enemy combatants straight!

For example, Franco let the US build military bases all over Spain for 40 years, whereas subsequent socialists effectively kicked the US military out of Spain.

Franco was pro-USA during his dictatorship--foreigners were welcome to move to Spain, invest, & enjoy the place. So long as you kept your bikini top on!

I think I'll just have to wait this one out.

What worries me is that I just uploaded a series of Mo-toons to the Mo Archive which had recently caused a major uproar in Indonesia, and brought calls for the cartoonist to be killed. The cartoons were taken offline, and the cartoonist went into hiding, but [through means which shall not be named] I got the orginals and uploaded them.

I fear (probably paranoaically) that Indonesian Islamo-hackers in anger are attacking my site.

I can't show you the cartoons, obviously (my site's down), but here's a link about the case:

Indonesia Abuzz Over Cartoons Belitting Prophet

JAKARTA, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Indonesia was abuzz Thursday over cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad which appeared on an Internet blog, and Islamic organisations protested vehemently against the belittling of the prophet and called for the blogger to be arrested and penalised.

Police have appealed for calm while they investigated the appearance of the cartoons on the blog in Batak, one of the local Indonesian languages.

A police spokesman said it had yet to be proven that the cartoons were the work of someone of another religion who wanted to belittle Islam and that the server and blog were not hosted in Indonesia.

Communication and Information Minister Muhammad Nuh said his ministry would track the blogger and impose appropriate action under the law.

Muhammad Ismail Yusanto, spokesman of the Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia Islamic organisation, said the cartoonist should be sentenced to death.

I am now the only site on the Web with those cartoons.

Probably unrelated to my site going offline, but the fear keeps me on my toes.

Charles Freeman Orchestrated His Own Fall
By Frank R. Wolf [Republican member of the House from Virginia.] [and not a Jew]

After Freeman abruptly withdrew from consideration Tuesday evening, he and some in the media pointed to the so-called Israel lobby to explain the congressional uproar over his appointment. Freeman's charges of an elaborate conspiracy to derail his nomination are disingenuous. The "Israel lobby" never contacted me. For me, the warning flags about Charles Freeman went up when I learned of his questionable associations and inflammatory statements about China and Tibet.

This message is definetly pre surge circa 2004-2006 when there was a real chance that the sunni insurgency would succeed. Can you Imagine any AQ leader talk about

After taking control of Iraq

and then threaten Jordan and Israel now.

re: #73 rwmofo My guess is he sustained a fatal wound at Tora Bora, largely based on various intelligence agencies reporting his death there, but also because literally up to a day or two before Tora Bora you couldn't get him out from the video-cams - fucker was making video tapes left and right. Since Tora Bora, just audio tapes which in fact can be staged or imitated.
If he was still around, he'd have appeared on a video tape while the fight for Iraq was still in doubt and Al-Q had thousands of (live) fighters there. And if he died in the fighting at Tora Bora, then he would have been a martyr for Al-Q to use forever. Dying from kidney failure, not so much!

That's a label that tells the browser to "jump" to a certain part of the page, in this case, I believe Charles calls the beginning of the comment section on a page "ctop."

So, after the page loads, it will "page down" to that label in the page code, in this case "ctop" (which I suspect is Charles' way of naming the beginning of the comments "comment top.")

This should have nothing to do with your error message, I don't think.

I think that only applies to 'premium' music whatever that is. I can certainly still access all the other music vids in my favourites.

Clamwin is open source and free. There is one caveat, though:

Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

Interesting read from Leslie Gelb.

It appears our new strategy in Afghanistan will be to talk to the "moderate" Taliban and threaten to blow up their poppy fields if they do not play nice.

There has to be something better than this.....but, even if there is, I think Obama will take the path of least resistance and "cut our losses".

I wonder how hard it will be to come back into Afghanistan and Pakistan after we pull out and let it fester for a few years?

Despite its importance to economic growth, environmental protection, and global health and energy issues, scientific literacy is currently low among American adults. According to the national survey commissioned by the California Academy of Sciences:

* Only 53% of adults know how long it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun.
* Only 59% of adults know that the earliest humans and dinosaurs did not live at the same time.
* Only 47% of adults can roughly approximate the percent of the Earth's surface that is covered with water.*

Forgetting Iran for the moment, did you notice that this time the US is not allowing for Israeli Avionics to be installed during assembly of the JSF's to be purchased by the IAF. Since more or less giving up their ability to build their own airframes, the Israelis have concentrated on avionics more suited to their needs, generally simpler and lighter than our stuff. Unless I am wrong, the F-16-I is built with the Israeli stuff pre-installed during assembly.
I suspect the Israelis COULD Retro-Fit after delivery - AND - it would significantly increase the cost of an already expensive airframe to the IAF.
Question is "WHY?"

There are things in this world I will never understand.

The line I have to edit when I upgrade versions of linux is:

Luckily we have the right man on the job to handle the situation. Obama has a track record. Presidential office transparency, Cabinet appointments, Banks, Markets, Bi-partisanship, Human Embryos, and strengthening ties with our top allies.

This track record allows me to extrapolate exactly what is going to happen when dealing with the enemy on foreign policy issues.

God help us. (find the "reset button" that is)

I love that this is in the news, because it gets the hamster wheel spinning in everyones small minds on capitol hill that this problem is not going away. Osama, dead or alive, is an ideologue with throngs of fervent supporters waiting to saw our heads off (literally!). We shall see what the outcome will be, I suspect it will be some babbling rhetoric of the policies of the past being unsound, another straw man knocked down, hope, change, nothing done. Disco Dewds go down in Iowa

The bill was introduced by Rod Roberts, a Republican legislator, in early February. By mid-February, the faculty at Iowa institutions of higher learning launched a petition that eventually gathered some 240 signatories from about 20 colleges, universities, and research institutions in Iowa.

Glenn Branch of the National Center for Science Education told the Chronicle of Higher Education (February 25, 2009) “that the new Iowa statement is apparently the first organized response to such a bill by college faculty members throughout a state.”

They used to do a lot of retrofitting when they were flyin' those Frenchified planes back in the late 60's and early '70's, IIRC, they used to pull the French engines out and replace them with American ones, not to mention any avionics upgrades they might have done.

NOT

I wonder if this plan will be like Sec. Geitner's plan.....made up as they go along....

Her initial plan is to tell border agents to work harder. So they can check every car and truck going into Mexico while the Mexican Government in turn makes a conciliatory response to make sure that their citizens obey U.S. immigration laws.

What? That's not happening? Well never mind. Keep letting the guns and cash into their country until they do.

My guess is that Turkey wouldn't have had that kind of pull since they were only Level 3 partners in the development. If any country had a veto, besides the US, it would have been the UK which was a Level I Partner ( 2.5 billion ) or 10% of the development cost.

re: #166 jcm

No cervical control, with that blood in the nose and mouth airway should be a concern, it didn't appear to be.

If that blood is the result of the canister hitting is forehead, he's in serious trouble.
However I wonder if he took a full face hit and it's maxillofacial damage as to opposed to a depressed skull fracture.

?

After St. Pancake, do we have a St. Canister?

And no, I don't have a hell of a lot of sympathy for that dope.

OBL doesn't matter. This Hate is spreading without him. Mind you, I'd love to see him swinging from a noose on a stage built right in front of the WTC. Conferring justice to him is a separate issue than dealing with fundie Islam.

To deal with the whack jobs, we first have to remove their source of funding. That means making the oil in the middle east irrelevant. Without it, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the other "moderate" states will have to find something else to do, besides selling their resources.

I look forward to that day. I hope I live to see it.

Odd that he doesn't mention Obama or the economic collapse. It's almost as if he never said it in previous recordings and now there's nothing new to splice in.

An American Congress-person wakes up to genocidal efforts by Iran...

But he 'cannot understand' why Iran would DO this, attempting to systematically murder 250,000 people...

Here

Biden is mentioned. Transcript does not seem to match headline.
Nothing we think we know about this seems to match this transcript.

I heard a brief news blurb on the radio yesterday about this. While the gist of the news report was the usual mention of Holocaust against Gaza but the highlight of the report said "Osama put down Arab states for not trying to end the violence". (So now Osama is a peacemaker?)

re: #21 EmmmieG

Do you suppose the grubs and worms he's eating in that cave taste better with hot sauce?

Just wondering.

Everything is better with hot sauce. Even chocolate cake.
