Twitter has a limit of 140 characters for a post. If the post is longer than that and contains a URL, Twitter automatically converts the URL to use tinyurl, so the post will fit within the limit.
Tinyurl takes an address like:
littlegreenfootballs.com/article/33085_Another_Secret_Left-Wing_List_Surfaces
and converts it to:
tinyurl.com/djac2z

I've never used it, but it appears to be a service that you can use to post a pretty short URL (a link) as a substitute for the very long URLs that are found in many locations. It comes in handy when posting links in forums with limited space or that don't otherwise handle the sometimes enormous URLs found all over.

'Condoms increase problem of Aids'
He told reporters on the plane that Aids 'is a tragedy that cannot be overcome by money alone, and that cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which even aggravates the problems.' He said the Catholic Church was leading the fight against Aids, but that sexual abstinence and fidelity within marriage were the answer. There are echoes here of Cardinal Trujillo, who said in 2003 that condoms advanced the spread of Aids because they had holes in them.

CoE: Muslims Spiffy, Atheists stink....
Secularism threatens British Christianity, says bishop
People quite often suggest to me that the presence and growth in England of Islam should be a major concern for the Church of England, as if the presence of Muslim people was the main threat, even the main opposition, to the Christian Faith in this country – can Islam bear not to be the dominant religion in the State? Will not England and the UK in the 21st century go the way of North Africa in the 8th and following centuries? My own sense – though I recognise that I am far from expert in these questions – is that Islam in this country is much more a puzzle and a challenge to itself (a very recent survey, for instance, found that 95% of the UK's Imams were born and educated abroad), and to the government's understanding both of Islam itself and of the place of 'faith communities', and especially of the Church of England, in English society, than it is to the Church of England. I continue to see 'non-faith' as by far the most insistent challenge to Christian faith in this country

Hi Dianna, My very best wishes with that. Same here with my boss, but at least we are nearing the end of the scary stuff. If it is bad news, the good news is is that the liver teams today are very special people. They are good at what they do, and they get a lot of great results these days. There are several places around the Country that specialize. Hope he will be OK.

OT - (and I suspect that most have already seen this, but I have to rant anyway).
Senate committee to explore taxing AIG bonuses.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced on the Senate floor Tuesday that the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee will pursue a legislative fix in such a way that the "recipients of those bonuses will not be able to keep all their money -- and that's an understatement."
[Link: www.cnn.com...]
I really don't like any of the stimulus, the bailouts, the money being given away, both in handouts and in bonuses, but, the bottom line is the above is just plain wrong.
This is actually a case of a member of Congress who is literally strong-arming a sector of American citizens.
I cannot remember a time when anyone in Washington has made such a blatant, outright nazi-like threat of this nature.
I am really pissed off.

He's taking some much deserved heat as lawmakers are realizing that the AIG bonuses should have been noticed before the initial bailout. It's one of those "Hey, wait a minute" moments. I especially like the mention of Dodd putting language in the stimulus package to provide an "exception for contractually obligated bonuses agreed on before Feb. 11, 2009.

Israel's visiting chief of staff finds doors closed in Obama's Washington
On his current trip to Washington, Ashkenazi sought to meet the administration of President Barack Obama, but most officials were unavailable.
Diplomatic sources said Ashkenazi failed to obtain access to any Cabinet member, including Defense Secretary military chief, who sought to discuss the Iranian nuclear threat, won't even meet his counterpart, Adm. Michael Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"The Obama administration believes that Israel is as much or more of a problem as it is an ally, at least until Israel's disagreements with its neighbors are resolved," former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, said.

Note the smoke trails, they are using low grade fuel. This produces the smoke, degrades performance, engine life etc... it also increase the visibility of the aircraft with a giant smoke trail pointing to it.
The landing show evidence of lack of flight for the crew, sink rate was too fast and recovery was over corrected.

More info on bonuses at WSJ (the last one on the list is interesting)
* New York Attorney General Cuomo provided details of bonuses awarded at AIG. Here are the details he provided. See the letter.
* The top recipient received more than $6.4 million;
* 22 individuals received bonuses of $2 million or more, and combined they received more than $72 million;
* 73 individuals received bonuses of $1 million or more; and
* Eleven of the individuals who received "retention" bonuses of $1 million or more are no longer working at AIG, including one who received $4.6 million

It gest worse.
At the bottom of that link, see this:
'"Ashkenazi sees this U.S. refusal as what has been undermining Israeli deterrence toward Iran and boosting the confidence of the Teheran regime," the source said. "The mullahs in regime have concluded that America has dropped the military option and won't allow such an option to Israel."
Israel has not just been thrown under the bus, the bus has rolled over Israel a few times, back and forth.
I pray the Obamaholes will come to regret this, deeply!

As much as I think it is wrong to award bonuses to many of these people, I think it is worse for the government to come in and invalidate the contracts on a whim, or attempt to take back what was legally paid out.

All the outrage in DC is smoke and mirrors.
They've knew about it all along.
Dodd put an amendment in exempting the AIG bonuses.
The Fed approved the bonuses as legal contracts.
The entire controversy is DC bullshit to distract the plebes from the budget, the spending and porkulus.
Don't fall for it.
If the government can start rewriting contracts business in this country will suffer the most devastating blow ever.
