TidBITs has a detailed summary of the new features announced in the iPhone 3.0 Software.

At a special press event at its headquarters today, Apple previewed the new iPhone 3.0 software, which adds the long-awaited push notification capability, support for subscriptions and purchases within applications, and copy and paste, among much else.
