IIRC, we started out the week with a $30K pledge and by the end of the event, it had swelled to around $130K, with about $20K grassroots from us 'little guys' wanting to do something a bit more for those young athletes. I don't think that there was a dry eye in the event when those athletes came on stage, with their innocence, joyfulness, enthusiasm and courage (YOU try standing in front of about 5K people from around the world and not shake in your boots).
