Obama Bars Press from Press Award Ceremony

Politics • Views: 4,282

You couldn’t make up stuff like this.

Barack Obama was elected commander in chief promising to run the most transparent presidential administration in American history.

This achievement and the overall promise of his historic administration caused the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. to name him “Newsmaker of the Year.”

The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon.

The Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.

UPDATE at 3/20/09 11:25:09 am:

The National Newspaper Association, despite its innocuous name, is actually an association of far-left publications that includes “Final Call” — the paper published by Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam: NNPA - Article - member papers.

And that explains why Obama doesn’t want the mainstream press at this award ceremony.

I saw this, and thought to myself: Is this going to be the incident that causes the scales to fall from the eyes of Obama’s sychophants in the MSM? I see no difference between the blindness of the Obots, and the loveblindness of a teenager in an abusive, dangerous relationship.

I have known people who have allowed themselves to stay in abusive relationships and you just have to marvel at the continued Self-deception in the face of overwhelming evidence of the worst-case scenario unfolding.

Hey you media people: How does it feel to be lied to, and shut out, and dissed?

After doing some dumpster diving, I’ve come across Obama’s backstage rider.

It includes the following:
Munchies for the teleprompter.
Masseuse on premises at all times for teleprompter - to alleviate and ameliorate tiredness.
Suitable electrical systems to power teleprompter and lighting that gives hero effect in all photos at all times.
Battery backup and WiFi.
Plaster columns, which can be fitted in traditional colonial styles. Doric and Ironic preferred.
Basketball court and regulation basketball.
Restraining order on Coach K.
Bowling experts are restricted from being within 500 yards.

I am sorry to go OT this early, but I made this comment at the end of the thread on Obama/Iran after, I fear, everyone had left and wanted to repost it:
I’ve mentioned before out here how I had the distinct privilege of meeting one of the former Iranian hostages (I cannot reveal his name) in a group of six people all of whom he KNEW were friendly to him and would literally have done anything at all to help or protect him.
And yet, throughout the entire meeting - lasting over an hour, his entire body shook like a leaf in a light breeze. Every Single Day one of his captors would come in and put a pistol against the back of his blindfolded head and say “Is today the day?” and pull the trigger on the empty chamber so he just heard the metallic “click”.
I read the transcription above and couldn’t watch the video.
I can’t imagine how badly this fellow - and his surviving fellow hostages - feel this day. I’d guess
“let down” by the President of the United States and indeed their whole country for electing him would be too weak a description by far.
President Obama, you may have won the election, but I know you’re not that former hostage’s President, nor are you mine, in my heart.
And while I know it’s not my place to do so, I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to all of those former hostages and to their families for the actions and words of Barack Hussein Obama this day.

35 Sharmuta  Fri, Mar 20, 2009 10:36:06am

It makes perfect sense, you see. Having the press around for a press award ceremony would give the press the idea they’re allowed to ask 0bama questions, and that just really dampens the mood of him winning awards and hanging out.

Reaction from Dubai to Iran video (From Tapper’s blog):

“I spoke to Sadjadpour here in Dubai, where the significant Iranian population has been loudly cheering Obama’s message. Across the water, every ordinary Iranian I have spoken to has expressed warm excitement for Obama’s message. Karim and other Iranian analysts stress the important of the following significant points in Obama’s message:

” * Obama was smart to put it his message on the web, circumventing the potential censorship of a purely televised address. Iranians are heavy internet users and will have access to the message in full.

” * Past presidents have issued Nowruz messages, but only aimed at the Iranian people. Obama’s message addressed the people and the government, without drawing an antagonistic difference between the two.

” * Quoting the poet Saadi at the end of the address is hugely significant — invoking the wisdom Persian poetry is a powerful cultural symbol in Iran and an integral part of serious political dialogue. He quoted a poem that many Iranian children learn in school, one that deeply resonates.

” * As mentioned in Trita Parsi’s analysis, use of the term ‘Islamic Republic’ is a concrete sign that the U.S. is changing its approach to Iran. That is not necessarily supporting or legitimizing the regime, but he’s recognizing it and acknowledging it’s the regime he has to deal with.”

When you consider yourself King of the World you can do anything.

Of course, Steely Dan’s song King of the World was about the end of the world:

Hello one and all
Was it you I used to know
Cant you hear me call
On this old ham radio
All I got to say
Im alive and feeling fine
If you come my way
You can share my poison wine
Chorus:
No marigolds in the promised land
There’s a hole in the ground
Where they used to grow
Any man left on the Rio Grande
Is the king of the world
As far as I know

I don’t want your bread
I don’t need your helping hand
I can’t be no savage
I can’t be no highwayman
Show me where you are
You and I will spend this day
Driving in my car
Through the ruins of Santa Fe

Chorus

Im reading last years papers
Although I don’t know why
Assassins cons and rapers
Might as well die

If you come around
No more pain and no regrets
Watch the sun go brown
Smoking cobalt cigarettes
There’s no need to hide
Taking things the easy way
If I stay inside
I might live til Saturday

Chorus

To this day, they end the official Friday prayers with a “Death to America” chant. They have vowed to wipe Israel off the map…and Obama wants to treat them like they are Switzerland or something?

Obama’s 129

Not to beat this one to death, but it appears that President Obama’s high bowling score of 129 wouldn’t get him a medal in the Special Olympics.

According to a quick scan of Google results, one well-known Special Olympian, Loretta Claiborne, reportedly bowled a high of 178 in 1995. Rachel Register of Virginia bowled a 212 in 2006. Team Kentucky’s top bowler, Keith Cotrell, boasts a 150 average.

Tim Shriver also noted on GMA this morning that a Detroit Special Olympian has bowled three perfect games.

CNN’s rating have collapsed. They come in 4th in cable news for March.

Through March 17, CNN trailed not only Fox News and MSNBC but also its own sister network, Headline News, on nine out of 17 days. On one day, March 13, CNN even drew fewer 25-to-54 viewers than CNBC — the first time that’s happened since November 2007. And of the eight days it finished higher than fourth in the demo, five were either Saturdays or Sundays, typically the lowest rated nights for the news networks.

Why include only black reporters? So he can have a friendly suck-up audience and not face any hostile questions. It is a supremely racist decision.

The award is being presented by a black newspaper group. Since no press is invited, it’s between the presenters and the president. There’s nothing “racist” about it. If it were being given by an Iceland newspaper group, you wouldn’t say boo.

1. waterhead
a retarded person without the mental capacity to ever do more in the working world than push shopping carts badly. usually loved by the managers cuz they feel sorry for him.
The waterhead usually thinks he is the best worker and that he has a really nice smile. He drools a lot. He will try to get his nonretarded coworkers fired.

waterhead
someone who lacks common sense and intelligence

waterhead
THe entire kennedy klan
although they are rich and don’t have to play the same rule as the common people those kennedy’ies are inbread waterheads
waterhead
Originaly slang for someone who is Hydrocephalic , but which has now come to refer to any severe idiot or retarded individual

a blundering idiot. a dork who knows everything and still only makes 9 dollars an hour at age 34. a retard who guns it after every stop, every time no matter what. buys everything from a 7-11. has a beacon score of 2. never loses an argument.

Yawn…

Who cares? It’s probably a five-ten minute presentation. Getting press in and out, making a speech, taking questions, posing for photographs, all that would take a lot more time.

Why should the president waste more time than necessary on something this trivial?

It’s a good decision. And we need to lighten up.

I think we are just reveling in the thick irony everytime Obama does something like this. Is this “award ceremony” a big deal? Of course it is not. But, it seems to be a pattern of Obama to say one thing and then do the opposite. This is just one more example to add to his list.

If you run on a platform that boasts how transparent your administration will be, and then once you’re in, cloak things in secrecy, that is not only not right, it’s dishonest. All politicians promise the moon and the stars, but Obama laid it on so thick and with such passion, that when he does stuff like this, it tells you a great deal about his character. He would have said anything to get elected it appears….and that is pathetic.

Obama wants to give citizenship to ‘law abiding’ illegal aliens

On his very full plate, immigration was one issue that President Obama had yet to take on - until yesterday, when he discussed it with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

At a town hall meeting in southern California yesterday, Obama renewed his support for comprehensive reform, including a possible path to citizenship for law-abiding people who entered the country illegally, along the lines of the bill that stalled in Congress in 2007.

According to the White House account of yesterday’s one-hour closed session, it was “a robust and strategic meeting” in which Obama announced he will go to Mexico next month to meet President Calderón and discuss, among other issues, effective, comprehensive immigration reform.

What is a law abiding illegal alien?

In reference to the “waterhead” comment from Leno last night, I give you Urban Dictionary. NOTE* Some of these apply to Obi himself.

1. waterhead
a retarded person without the mental capacity to ever do more in the working world than push shopping carts badly. usually loved by the managers cuz they feel sorry for him.

I’m sure there are more people that know what “Waterhead” means than people who what “Macaca” means. Even after the fake macaca outrage publicized the word.

Crap. What’s “secret” about it? He’s getting an award and anyone can read about it. So he’s not making it into an “event” with Helen Thomas! Be grateful.

Final Call has prominently displayed a 2004 speech by Farrakhan:

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said to us, “One day, you will see the rich lighting their cigars with $1,000 bills because the currency will have no more value.” When the currency goes down, the government goes down behind the currency.

You may think that all of the construction on highways is to build the city’s infrastructure, and it is. But as I travel in cities across America, and as you do too, you may notice the great Highway Construction Program. You may notice, especially around the major cities, they are digging up asphalt roads and putting up concrete and steel.

If you follow the construction, you will see an armory nearby, filled with tanks and anti-personnel carriers. You may think that what we see happening in Gaza and on the West Bank in Palestine and Israel is something just happening over there. My poor, poor, poor foolish brothers and sisters.

When we were coming up, we never carried guns. The best we could get was a switchblade. We would threaten people like we were going to do something, but we didn’t want to cut anybody. We just wanted to hold them off from whipping us, so we would pull out the blade. Today, the switchblade is gone and my young brothers and sisters are carrying weapons.

The Seattle Skanner has this, supporting the Irish Republican Army:

Here, we have a fact-based bio-pic recounting the suicide by fasting of Bobby Sands (1965-1981), a latter-day revolutionary who led an Irish Republican Army (IRA) hunger strike at Long Kesh Prison located in Northern Ireland.

I forgot to mention Illinois’s Muslim Journal, but their site is down.

Atlanta Daily World, which I also didn’t mention, is calling for mass collective action:

Just as in the campaign, our president needs our long-term assistance now. He needs millions of supporters to actively push for the legislative agenda we voted for just a few short months ago.

He needs active engagement on the state level to force governors to not sabotage a plan that our citizens need, not only for their own personal survival today, but for this nation’s economy to finally turn the corner towards a better tomorrow. He needs phone calls, e-mails, and letters to Congress to remind legislators that voters are watching and will remember who helps and who stands in the way of the new direction that this nation so urgently requires.

Unity!

Black Press Week to Celebrate, Salute Obama Family, Civil Rights Champions
Excerpt:

The Lifetime Achievement Award will go to civil rights icon the Rev. Joseph Lowery, co-founder and former president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, who recently rendered the benedictory prayer at the presidential inauguration.

Two Outstanding Community Service Awards will go to Xernona Clayton, president and CEO of The Trumpet Foundation, and the Rev. Al Sharpton, president and CEO of the National Action Network, and radio talk show host.

A special Political Leadership Award will be given to U. S. Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who, as House majority whip, is an example of the “wisdom and influence that has been so closely intertwined with the Black Press over centuries of activism and accomplishment,” says Leavell.
America’s first Black newspaper, Freedom’s Journal, was founded by Samuel Cornish and John B. Russwurm in 1827 in New York City.

During the Black Press Week celebration, held this year March 18-20, publishers from around the nation also visit with congressional leaders - Democrats and Republicans - in the spirit of the first editorial printed on the front page of the journal.

Rights Group Protests U.S. Pullout of Durban

(Special to the NNPA)-A top civil rights organization expressed its anger and disappointment over the United States’ pullout of the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, which ended last week.

The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, a coalition of civil and human rights organizations, said America “squandered an opportunity to participate in important issues facing the country and the world.”

“The government’s withdrawal deprives advocates from the United States of formal representation and makes it extremely difficult to advance our aims for equal justice,” it added.

The United States and Israel left mid-way in the meeting when negotiations over removing resolution language branding Israel an apartheid-like state failed.

Many African American leaders said they believe the United States used the Israeli-Palestinian issue as a way to back out of discussions dealing with reparations for the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

This is in reference to DURBAN.

If you click on the link below you can see other news articles from this organization.

NNPA Op-Ed Spotlight

The Disturbing U.S. Absence At Durban

By Jesse Jackson

When the World Conference Against Racism convened in Durban on Aug. 31, 15 heads of state and leaders from around the world were there-but not U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. Powell was ordered to stay home as President Bush decided to send a low-level delegation instead. The Bush administration didn’t want to discuss reparations for slavery and didn’t approve of the anti-Israeli statements and sentiments in the documents leading up to the conference. But the U.S. shouldn’t spurn the conference just because it disagrees with part of an international program or with many of the participants. The U.S. should lead-and Powell should have gone to Durban.

The U.S. has a story to tell about racism and, as Secretary of State, Powell is the right man to tell it. Think of the past of the nation. Founded in slavery that it took the bloodiest war in our history to end. Scarred by legal apartheid-segregation-that took another 100 years and too many martyrs to end. Still burdened by unequal treatment, racially biased profiling and sentencing, mortgage lending and more. Yet we have come a long way-and we have an experience with a multi-racial society that others should hear…

re: #34 realwest

We need to get some of them on video stating how stupid Obama’s policy is.

More Leftist propaganda from NNPA:

American ‘Arrogance’ Could Prompt New Attacks
by George E. Curry and Benjamin Todd Jealous

WASHINGTON (NNPA) – A prominent African-American lawyer who has recently represented an Islamic former terrorist says United States arrogance has caused the nation to be hated by many people around the world, hatred that could lead to more violent incidents like those that shocked the nation this week.

“We, as Americans, know that these people, these groups hate us and we are so arrogant that we don’t even worry why,” states David Baugh, a criminal lawyer who once represented convicted terrorist Muhammed Al-Owhali in connection with bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa. “We just assume they are crazies and we don’t even spend one minute wondering why they hate us.”
Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, says she observed anti-American sentiment at the recently concluded international conference in Durban, South Africa.

I’m done with trolling the archives of the NNPA and its associated ‘zines. I believe I’ve made my point. When the sites were up at all, they featured pro-terrorist material and Alinskyite agitprop. On to analysis: what does Obama hope to gain by showing up?

Obama is, I think, here to rile up his base, that base being the far Left and various black nationalist groups. His plan is to progagate the (socialist) economic programme he’s laid out via community action (i.e. Mao through Alinsky). That is why the Atlanta Daily World’s article which I excerpted is so important.

I expect a number of loud street demonstrations coming up demanding “responsibility” of the government, that is us being responsible for their government pensions and paychecks. I also expect most major cities to buckle, and for the cities to demand their state governments not stand in their way (from the Daily World, again). State taxes are going to skyrocket in the purple states; income taxes will be introduced in states like Texas; and the feds will try pillaging the more rural states like Alaska.

What, you think investigating the NNPA isn’t worth our time? They presented the award and Obama was there, giving his seal of approval to what they do. We do exactly the same thing to “anti-jihad” conferences which European politicians attend. But Obama gets a pass from accepting an award from what is basically a hate-media convention?

No. Thanks.

re: #246 Cato the Elder

I wasn’t commenting on the people he’s getting the award from, but on the way he’s handling the presentation.

And now that we know that the reason he’s handling the presentation that way is because he’s getting an award from a group of hard left and/or bigoted “newspapers”.

Does that make it more of a scandal, or less?

re: #58 Desert Dog

It’s not just the former hostages. What about the families of the Marines in Beirut? Khobar Towers? Iran has been AT WAR with the USA since 1979 and we are either too stupid to notice, or, we just do not care. What Obama is doing is nothing short of obscene.

To this day, they end the official Friday prayers with a “Death to America” chant. They have vowed to wipe Israel off the map…and Obama wants to treat them like they are Switzerland or something?

I help to manage an online group of about 1000 Marine Moms. This message was posted to our group about an hour ago… It seems a fitting place to share it with LGF. (it was originally posted on Sgt Grit’s newsletter)

Sgt. Grit:

I just finished reading your most recent news letter. In response to “Taking Chance,” I did watch it…..I shouldn’t have, but I did. I thought it was exceptionally well done, as they made the main focus of this piece about the respect that both young Chance was given, as well as his escort. I really did fine until the last half hour and then had to sit next to a box of Kleenex!

My son is currently serving over in Iraq and I would suggest that anyone who has a loved one currently deployed to wait until they are safely home to watch this extremely moving film.

I’d like to tell you of an experience I had a little while back. I was at work and as I was looking out the window when I noticed a car pull into our parking lot. A Marine stepped out of the car, dressed in his blues, very crisp looking.
At that moment, I thought, why is he here…is he here to see me; to tell me that something happened to my son. My heart sank into my stomach, I felt all the blood rush from my face and I couldn’t move from my chair (I couldn’t feel my legs at that point). I don’t even know if my phone rang or if anybody came up to me, all I could do was stare out at this Marine.

As I watched him, he lit up a cigarette, and all I could think of is he needed one before he had to tell me some bad news. He finished his cigarette and got back into his car and drove away——THANK GOD.
It took me a minute to regain my focus and realized it was Veteran’s Day and they were having a parade down Main St., which was right around the corner from my office.

I simply got up from my chair and went to the ladies room and cried my eyes out…in relief. I then
realized that, if something did happen to my son, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t come to my place of employment to deliver such news, but I was hardly thinking clearly at that time.

Who would’ve thought…why my parking lot? He just wanted a cigarette…..he just wanted a cigarette.

I just want to let everyone know that to all that have served and are serving, you have my deepest thanks and prayers. To those families who have had a loved one make the ultimate sacrifice, God Bless you for they did not die in vain!

Semper Fi
New England Marine Mom

Possibly. Here’s more that I found:

Photo Gallery for the Week of Septrember 3, 2001

NNPA Editors: We are rec’ing. a few b/w images from Durban. These are US protestors—all kinds of people—demonstrating against the US policies at WCAR. Please caption them accordingly but you can use:
Throughout the week in demonstrations such as this one, demonstrators took to the streets of Durban to voice their frustration over US policy at the World Conference Against Racism held there.

The “durban why not” pix: A protestor at the World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa wears a t-shirt which reads US NGO here, “US Gov not, why not?” while another demonstrator holds placard targeting the U.S. Anti-U.S. sentiment continued to grow at the conference when it was perceived by many attending delegates that the U.S. did not want to discuss issues of racism at a world conference.

Let’s not forget the tune that follows (if I remember the tape running order correctly, which was different from the LP/CD)

Show Business Kids by Steely Dan

You’re goin’ to lost wages, lost wages
You’re goin’ to lost wages, lost wages
You’re goin’ to lost wages, lost wages
You’re goin’ to lost wages, lost wages
You’re goin’ to lost wages, lost wages

With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

After closing time
At the Guernsey Fair
I detect the El Supremo
From the room at the top of the stairs
Well, I’ve been around the world
And I’ve been in the Washington Zoo
And in all my travels
As the facts unravel
I’ve found this to be true

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

They got the house on the corner
With the rug inside
They got the booze they need
All that money can buy
They got the shapely bods
They got the Steely Dan t-shirts
And for the coup de grace
They’re outrageous
So honey let me tell you

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

Show business kids making movies
Of themselves you know they
Don’t give a fuck about anybody else

You know you’re gonna

While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
With the shade on the light
While the poor people sleepin’
All the stars come out at night

While the poor people sleepin’

Cato, your distaste for Palin is obvious. Her associations have been cited as problematic, & out of touch.

The one aspect in all of this, and I truly can’t get it out of my head at all, is the palpable disdain for her not just by the left, but some people here as well.

Fair enough.

But to pull the lever for a guy who did more than just pal around with another guy who was the head of a domestic terror organization, unrepentant to this day, and in black and white (thank you Zombie) was contemplating the potential need for culling 25 million people who might not fall in line with the groups aspirations, I can’t fathom that.

How in the hell do you rationalize one, but not the other?

Russia quote:

PALIN: And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor.

GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

That’s what she said. Tina Fey’s parody was only a little bit more idiotic.

When talking about what she says is her foreign policy experience, Sarah Palin told ABC news “…you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”

That quote made us want to go to that island.

So we did.

The island is called Little Diomede. It looks like a rock plopped into the Bering Strait. Only about 150 Alaskans live on the whole island. And just about two miles away; in full view of every single house on the island is the nation of Russia. Specifically, it is the Russian Island of Big Diomede which sits about 25 miles from the Russian Siberian mainland (which you can also see from the American island.) Most everybody on Little Diomede had relatives who lived on Big Diomede.

Bullshit end of story.

This guy served on a board, had very intimate ties with, and proposed legislation with Ayres.

I bet we could go through previous posts, and find where she was held in contempt for her church, creationist ties, or some other unsavory association.

There is no way you can be intellectually honest, and say somehow just because Ayres was not running on a ticket, this information is not relevant.

That has got to be one of the weakest arguments I think I have ever heard.

Again, you can’t see this contradiction. He is close to a guy who was willing to commit murder against our own police departments, official buildings, and espoused efforts similar to Stalin’s trains to Siberia?

Come on man.

318 hihoherman  Fri, Mar 20, 2009 12:34:45pm

Gee, why make this such a hard call? Obama doesn’t have you “in” for a mostly Black event; because he doesn’t want a “photo-op” to rip into his popularity.

Now, if Dubya had been this smart? He’d have gone to see Maliki. But he would never have given Maliki the control needed, to see to it that a journalist toss two shoes at Bush. Where this guy got to “shoot the shoes” as if he was put into position to toss a basketball straight into the basket. You could call them, “two free throws.”

Yes, there’s a lot of anger “out there.” Reminds me of Barry Goldwater; (who couldn’t stand Reagan). And, who actually lost in 1964 for being such a negative guy. Oh, yeah. He was good at licking his own wounds, too.

While Obama is getting much smarter about the press than Bill Clinton ever was. So there must be “lessons” imbedded there, somewhere.

Personally, I find Palin to be extremely likable and capable, but she was a horrible choice for Veep. Speaking of ACORN, it reminded me of the upcoming census (which it seems they will get more of OUR money to “help” conduct). Now as I understand it, there is no legal definition of our various ethnic categories or even sexual preferences. That is to say, that anyone can claim to be African-American or Hispanic or whatever and one’s declaration cannot be legally challenged.

So, how about, as a form of protest against race-based laws, preferences, whatever, that all of us declare ourselves to be African American. For myself, I heard my Dad say once that his great-great-grand dad had some African blood in his veins. So I guess I’m black. How about the you folks? Funny thing for someone like me. If someone would just freakin level with me as an honest voter deciding on the issues, and made the case that we needed mass “legal” immigration for fiscal, or competitive purposes, I could buy that, and you would garner my serious consideration.

Damn Cato you really stepped in it this time.

Whatever Palins faults may or may not be, they are utterly insignificant to the wholesale destruction of the ability of the US military to defend this nation, that you voted for.

Yes, you did.

Cato of Palin. It puzzles me this Palin hate when mirrored to the Obama love. Palin’s integrity index is higher.

re: #22 DistantThunder

I saw this, and thought to myself: Is this going to be the incident that causes the scales to fall from the eyes of Obama’s sychophants in the MSM? I see no difference between the blindness of the Obots, and the loveblindness of a teenager in an abusive, dangerous relationship.

You mean we’re doomed, doomed, I say, if we can no longer waterboard people?

Crap.

It’s far more complex than that, as I’m sure you’re aware.

re: #378 Cato the Elder

183 F-22’s are going to replace over 600 aging F-15’s? Cutting the F-35 budget by one third even as almost half of the F-16’s are reaching their service life expectancy? Canceling both the DDG-1000 (so much for the off-shore fire support law) and the new production DDG-51 at the same time? Floating plans to cancel the Ford class carriers even as they’re already reducing the active carrier fleet? Canceling the Virginia class SSBN. Halting the LCS (too weak for littorals, too unarmed for combat, and almost too small to qualify as a ship) at just two ships. Canceling ballistic missile defense. Failure to fully re-open the Lima tank plant to full production capacity. Canceling the Marines EFV. Slowing production of the V-22. Failure to fund a replacement for tens of thousands of worn out Humvees, large numbers of which are literally being given away.

Increasing the military manpower authorization while not increasing the military budget to match. Insisting on a surge into landlocked Afghanistan in spite of knowing full well that there is no MSR into Afghanistan and the logistical system is strained to its maximum just to resupply the troops that are already there. Threatening to invade Pakistan. A four week lull in Predator strikes on al-Q/Talib leadership targets, during which the Shadow Army came out in broad daylight in Swat province, where it defeated a Pakistani Army column that had tanks, artillery support, helicopter gunship support and jet fighter bomber support, and it did so in full view of al-Jazeera’s cameras…

The list just goes on and on.

Not many seem to have noticed outside of a few blogs, but the US Navy just recently announced that it will not venture within 25 nautical miles of an enemy coast. Which pretty much rules out the concept of amphibious landings - which rules out the need for off shore fire support - which pretty much rules out the entire Marine Corp, doesn’t it? The Ayers/Alinsky plan rolls on…

===

Water boarding? It was used three whole times in the five years it was authorized, on three people who deserve to have far worse done to them, on a regular basis. You deserve only mockery for even mentioning it here (among other things).

So, now that Barry Big Ears has been royally punked by the Persian Nuclear Midget, what’s the plan? And who came up with the bright idea to ask the Iranians for permission to move US supplies for Afghanistan through Iran? Izzat why Barry Big Ears was bending over and gripping his cheeks for the Persian Nuclear Midget? Somebody up there not get the “Big Satan” memo? Somebody you voted for?

It’s the war, stupid.

The point is not that you can’t see Russia from Alaska. Of course you can.

The point is that Palin the Dim thought that was a qualification for dealing with Putin on foreign policy.

Enjoy your Obama Derangement Syndrome, folks. After being unemployed for a year (mostly under Bush) I’ve got a job to do.

Cheers!
