CAIR's Chairman Larry Shaw Responds To American Citizen, Then Bans Him

Online Radio host Gary Rice, of "The Rice Report and Radio Show" contacted CAIR Chairman Larry Shaw on March 19, 2009 to invite Shaw onto his program and get his reaction to Anti-CAIR's recent article titled: CAIR’s Chairman Larry Shaw; Useful Idiot or Co-conspirator?

Mr. Rice, who is not a member of Anti-CAIR, was subsequently banned from any further contact with Larry Shaw, by Larry Shaw, who used his official legislative email account to respond.

--------------------

Senator Shaw,

Below is the article sent out world wide by Anti-CAIR

Will you respond on my Radio Show?

--Gary Rice

[---Anti-CAIR Article---]

Mr. Rice continues:

Dear Mr Shaw,

I have a simple straight forward online Radio show and I invite you to
either allow me to tape you or come live via phone and answer some questions
from my listening audience. My live studio audience is limited to 200 people
from just about every nation on the planet, but my radio show is broadcast
all over the planet and also on Short Wave Radio on some continents. Please
consider doing my show in the near future.

Regards.

Gary Rice

RICESKI

The Rice Report and Radio Show

--------------------

Larry Shaw took the opportunity to respond to Rice's request, and issued the following email:

--------------------

From: Sen. Larry Shaw [mailto:Larry.Shaw@ncleg.net]
Sent: Friday, March 20, 2009 2:33 PM
To: Gary Rice
Subject: RE: ANTI-CAIR

Good Afternoon Mr. Rice:

I pray these words find you blessed in God's favor. Thank you for your
thoughts, however, as you may know this is a public e-mail domain and
anything that you send is public knowledge. Allow this missive to serve to
my response to Anti-Cair.

The fact that you are Anti-Cair shows that there is a very frozen, bias and
prejudice mentality; I could go on with other adjectives in line with this
rationale. Speaking of the fact that the word "idiot" was used creates the
appearance of some form of mental illness among the group. To expect a
civil dialogue when they are entirely locked into their anti-position would
be radioactive. It is clear, no meaningful dialogue can occur, and to
expect anything else would be an exercise of futility. I am sure you have
heard the old saying "you can not argue with a fool," this speaks for
itself. I respectfully ask that you do not waste my time, the taxpayers of
North Carolina public domain space, or any other public or my personal
resources devoted to this issue.

Therefore, it is in the best interest of North Carolina's taxpayers that I
block your e-mails. Any further communications that you send to this domain
will not reach me, but will be automatically deleted.

Again, thank you for your thoughts and I will keep you and your family in my
prayers.
May God be with you always.

Larry Shaw

There was an ANSWER rally in SF today, too, but I didn't go (raining, family, busy, etc.)

But according to the SF Chronicle:

The protest remained peaceful until the main group arrived at Civic Center Plaza. There, a couple hundred pro-Israel protesters waving Israeli flags were waiting for the larger contingent, which included many pro-Palestine protesters.

The pro-Palestine group broke off from the larger demonstration to confront the Israel supporters, who were carrying signs including "Hamas, stop using children as human shields." Both sides yelled angrily at each other and some protesters got into a physical fight, shoving each other. Police arrested at least two people.

I don't have details yet, but I'm sure to get them soon!

I think it is important to point out something we can all agree on - free speech is an important right in this country.

And I am also sure that moderate people like Avanti would agree that these are just ordinary Americans wanting to be heard on some pretty middle of the road positions.

This is in stark contrast to the abhorrent, irresponsible and reckless abuse of speech we witness whenever one of those Vast Right Wing Conspiracy orchestrated "Tea Party" protests is held.

Feinstein: Don't Spoil Our Desert With Solar Panels

California's Mojave Desert may seem ideally suited for solar energy production, but concern over what several proposed projects might do to the aesthetics of the region and its tortoise population is setting up a potential clash between conservationists and companies seeking to develop renewable energy.

Nineteen companies have submitted applications to build solar or wind facilities on a parcel of 500,000 desert acres, but Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Friday such development would violate the spirit of what conservationists had intended when they donated much of the land to the public.

Feinstein said Friday she intends to push legislation that would turn the land into a national monument, which would allow for existing uses to continue while preventing future development.

You know - Dianne has a good point.

Part of my energy plan is a Smart Grid, which is a boondoggle visionary project that will convey green energy across this great country.

Now some people complain about how ugly wind farms and solar farms are. Well the Smart Grid solves that problem - we will be sticking these butt ugly contraptions in Red states and moving the energy they produce to Blue states. That way metrosexuals like myself can waste this energy in good conscience. And the fact that this ugly equipment will litter the Red state landscape really doesn't present much harm - these hicks really have no sense of style anyway and will probably adorn them with chili pepper Christmas lights and other red neck kitsch stuff and say they like it.

Everyone wins! At least that is how Rahm and I see it, which is pretty much all that matters.

Well, this is interesting.
I have an e-mail from a Mr. Bama Yousuf, who says he is the "bill and Exchange manager in African Development Bank"

Right below it, I have a second e-mail from a Mr. Hassim Issa, asking me to "Please Try and Do This With Me", in which Mr. Issa ALSO claims to be the "bill and Exchange manager in African Development Bank".

Which one to answer? Such a difficult choice.

Speaking a fascist convergence, here's an editorial supporting Chas. Freeman in the Lyndon Laroche newspaper "Executive Intelligence Review".

[Link: www.larouchepub.com...]

Note the following passage:

In a post-mortem interview with The Nation, Freeman himself drew a careful distinction between what is too often over-generalized as the "Israel Lobby," and the specific Lieberman-centered extreme right-wing apparatus and its American fellow-travelers that led the charge against his appointment.

The editorial quote the Left-wing The Nation. And who wrote that article in The Nation? One Robert Dreyfuss. And who is Robert Dreyfuss? Why, he writes for the Nation and...Executive Intelligence Review.

Today's Left. Supporting Muslim fanatics, Jew-haters, fascists, and terrorists.

Yes indeed, they have the free speech right, but part of that right means we have to listen to moon bats like that, to protect the responsible protests like the tea parties.

I'm repeating myself but in 1970s Spain I experienced communists & socialists marching through neighborhoods & knocking on doors threatening to take away people's middle class houses.

These were Stalinists who had fled to the Soviet Union & then came back to Spain after Franco died, to try to reignite communism in Spain after an absence of 40 years.

These Spanish neo-Stalinist communists were as bitter & crazy & violent as they must have been during the Spanish Civil war when their side lost.

In Italy the communists tried to say they were communists with a human face, but they were still kleptocratic thugs with totalitarian goals.

Teach your children to think critically, not to swallow what their community organizing teachers & professors try to plant in impressionable brains.

Sixty-five House Democrats said Wednesday that they would oppose any attempt by the Obama administration to revive a ban on military-style weapons that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1994 and President George W. Bush let expire.

The pro-gun Democrats, led by Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., wrote Attorney General Eric Holder that they would "actively oppose any effort to reinstate the 1994 ban, or to pass any similar law."

Now if some Repubs will stay stood up on this, the Obamanation can just seethe.

Arlen Specter to cross aisle for 2010 Senate run

News fairly unbalanced. We report. You decipher

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, who last month almost single-handedly passed President Barack Obama's $819 billion stimulus package, today confirmed rumors that he would switch party affiliation for his 2010 reelection bid.

"I plan to run as a Republican," said Specter. "I know this switch will upset the balance of power in the Senate, but my conscience compels me."

An unnamed spokesman for the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) said the move "throws the whole race into a chaotic state" as the Democratic party now faces the daunting challenge of finding a candidate to attack Specter from the left.

"There's not a lot of room to maneuver on that side of Arlen," the DSCC source said. "But we've already phoned the Philadelphia Bar Association and local union leaders for recommendations."

Mwaha!

Well, we survived the counter-demonstration against Intl Answer in San Francisco today. The SFPD did a superb job of keeping the crazies at bay and even made some arrests. AT one point a mob rushed on section of barricades and the SFPD moved in quickly with police vehicles and riot gear and added extra protection for us (there were about 70 or so on our side). Then Richard Becker of Intl Answer and a few other speakers began whining on the megaphone to the police to, now get this, "cease the occupation of the Civic Center." They called the cops pigs and accused them of fostering a riot. Way to go International Answer, way to go.

On the negative side, four of our own people were followed into BART(2 past the age of 60) and were surrounded by 8 wannabe jihadis who threatened them with violence. Fortunately the police were nearby and 5 of the jerks were arrested and are sitting in jail as I type. One of the persons involved said that passerbys did nothing to help while the 8 assailants tried to separate them into two groups - she said it was like wolves surrounding prey. The jihadi kids are getting bolder.

I mentioned in comment #34 above that the SF Chronicle reported "Both sides yelled angrily at each other and some protesters got into a physical fight." I KNEW there was a "real" side to the story! Shootings leave 4 Oakland police officers in critical condition

After 'extensive manhunt' for suspect who shot two motorcycle officers, SWAT officers raid east Oakland building. In the ensuing shootout, two officers are hit and the suspect killed, officials say.

Reporting from San Francisco and Los Angeles -- Four Oakland police officers were shot and critically injured and a suspect was killed during two related shootings this afternoon, Oakland authorities said.

Two motorcycle officers were shot during a traffic stop at 1:16 p.m. in the 7400 block of MacArthur Boulevard. After the shooting police launched a "very extensive manhunt" for the suspect, said Oakland Police spokesman Jeff Thomason.

Police received an anonymous tip that a possible suspect was barricaded inside a nearby building.

About 3:20 p.m., officers tracked the suspect down at a building a few blocks away, along the 2700 block of 74th Avenue. SWAT officers entered and the suspect fired, striking two officers.

"The officers returned fire in defense of their lives," said acting Police Chief Howard Jordan. The suspect was killed, he said

The S&W was a tight group low and right, and H&K was even better. But the H&K was $350 more.

I know there are no words, also, that can ease the burden of grief for the families of those young men. Likewise, there are no words to properly express our outrage and, I think, the outrage of all Americans at the despicable act, following as it does on the one perpetrated several months ago, in the spring, that took the lives of scores of people at our Embassy in that same city, in Beirut. But I think we should all recognize that these deeds make so evident the bestial nature of those who would assume power if they could have their way and drive us out of that area that we must be more determined than ever that they cannot take over that vital and strategic area of the Earth or, for that matter, any other part of the Earth."

You have a similar problem to mine.

Every freakin' time I take one step out my door, I come back with pictures of some insane moonbat atrocity. My hard drive is littered with pictures of every imaginable type, and I simply don't have the time to turn most of them into reports. So they "rot on the vine," so to speak. What a tragedy! I need about 15 assistants, 24 hours a day. What with your two reports backed up, you're starting to get the same problem. Now, imagine that before you could publish either of those reports, you hear of a new event and run out to cover it, and come back with more photos, and they just keep piling up.

Now, I look at the camera the way an addict looks at the hypodermic needle on the nightstand.

The recent Stalinesque show trials clearly demonstrate that we now have a "political class" of aging hippies and 60's Aquarian flower children who are on a permanent LSD-flashback cum power-trip who have warped the representative American system to become NOT servants (employees if you will) of we-the-people, but an Uber-class of Masters of the people....our new Tsars ruling over we-the-serfs!

Monetary and currency policy is only ONE of the weapons now being used to wage war on America and reshape its ideology and political course into a sick and twisted dystopia of Chicago politics infused with Marxism. Ergo: Communists Gone Wild.

Good read.

Here is Buckcat's link: Barack Obama is a terrible bore

It's by Vanity Fair columnist Michael Wolff.
Excerpt:

Sheesh, the guy is Jimmy Carter.
...
The guy just doesn’t know what to say. He can’t connect. Emotions are here, he’s over there. He can’t get the words to match the situation.
...
You can see the fundamental mistake he’s making. Having been so successfully elected, he’s acting like people actually want to hear what he thinks. He’s the great earnest bore at the dinner party. Instead of singing for his supper, he’s just talking—and going on at length. The real job of making people part of the story you’re telling, of having them hang on your every word, of getting the tone and detail right, the hard job of holding a conversation, he ain’t doing.

He’s cold; he’s prickly; he’s uncomfortable; he’s not funny; and he’s getting awfully tedious.

He thinks it’s all about him.

Yeah, the graph showing the recent spike in monetary supply is unreal. I can't imagine it's going to mean anything except unbelievable inflation when a recovery finally comes. And if they get "cap and trade" through it will be kind of tough to blame Bush for $8/gal gas.

Classic example of somebody getting something they didn't work for and never earned. And talk about a helluva prize - most powerful position on the goddammed planet. His previous elected positions were gained more by technical elimination of his opponents than anything else. The November election is testament to the power of the goddammed MFM, not anything he did.

They seemed to be getting ready for something. Then a few guys show up in orange jumsuits. I had my camera with me so I sat on a bench and waited. After about 10 minutes they staged the lamest anti-war protest I've ever seen. The scattered themselves around on the busy promenade and at exactly the same moment they all froze. Yes, they stood perfectly still, all 15 or so of them. Almost no one noticed. After about 5 minutes of standing perfectly still, they all yelled "Don't Bomb Iran!, Don't Bomb Iran!".

did you get photos?

well done!

I got some photos, but I didn't embed myself with the other side. AT the beginning of the formal rally, sometime around 12:30PM, a parade of them marched in (from Embarcadero) and immediately rushed to the far end of the perimeter and began taunting us with multiple bull horns, sieg heils, the middle finger, calling us dogs in Arabic, the usual. It was there that I blended in with the folk from our side and got some decent photos. One idiot went out of his way to give me a sieg heil salute. I was more than happy to capture that shot. A number of the shots taken were captured for the purpose of documenting the haters on the anti-Israel side. It's a good idea to keep track of specific faces in the mob. Most of them appear to be young - twenties or so.

An interesting note is that the Answer rally had considerably less than 1000 participants, and a good half of the ones there were preoccupied with our mere presence across the street. I could visually see the organizers trying to get their people back to the rally to no avail. The fact that a fair number were more willing to clash with the SFPD than hear what the speakers had to say is also very telling. International ANSWER is losing its popularity. We've watched their numbers drop and honestly, they don't have too much to whine about now that Bush is no longer in office, and Operation Cast Lead is over.

Yet another interesting note - we embedded one of our own on the other side for the entire rally. This person noted via observation and conversation that ANSWER is rife with communists who want a violent overthrow of the US govt. Choice photos were also procured.

re: #340 Iron Fist

That is the operative question. Of course, if they were to attack you, you would be able to respond in self-defense. They talk a big game about being counter-cultural anarchists, etc. Do you remember the riots during the WTO talks back in the late '90s? I daresay that some of the business owners who's stores were trashed could have responded harshly without John Law getting too overly concerned about it.

There is a time and place for everything.

It never made the papers but a couple store owners stayed with there stores and had a 12ga visible. Their stores went untouched.

Under WA law, if I believe a thug intended to throw that cinderblock at me, the thug is fair game.

re: #339 eclectic infidel

Good job! Sorry I couldn't make it. But your on-site report is much appreciated.

I have to admit that I wonder how they would react if someone showed up to one of their rallies in a Sturmabteilung or Schutzstaffel uniform....

350 Steffan  Sat, Mar 21, 2009 11:17:30pm

I also have to wonder if those idiots would recognize the Horst Wessel if they heard it.

Could be an entertaining prank if the pranksters had a quick way to get out of there if the prank went sour....

re: #220 zombie

I mentioned in comment #34 above that the SF Chronicle reported "Both sides yelled angrily at each other and some protesters got into a physical fight." I KNEW there was a "real" side to the story! I'm very glad you posted the actual version of events here! As usual, the Chronicle obscures the facts.

Ah, the Chronicle.
Just like KPFA.

re: #6 rightwinger3

What is it about U.S. Communists, Socialists, etc. that draw them to terrorists? Do they expect to be spared from Jihad?

Honest to God answer to that question? No. They expect that, come the revolution, either the Jihadis will get over their superstitious mumbojumbo, or they will be, er, reeducated. Or otherwise neutralized.

They do not see these people as a threat, since they themselves plan to control the situation.

re: #34 zombie

There was an ANSWER rally in SF today, too, but I didn't go (raining, family, busy, etc.)

But according to the SF Chronicle:

I don't have details yet, but I'm sure to get them soon!

I had to work. WHIIIIIINNE.
