Galloway Threatens to Sue Canada

World • Views: 1,995

Malevolent, terror-supporting British MP George Galloway has been barred from entering Canada, and now he’s threatening to sue.

OTTAWA — An outspoken British MP who’s opposed to the war in Afghanistan says he intends to take legal action against the federal government over its decision to refuse him entry to Canada.

George Galloway, an MP for the U.K.’s Respect party, says he learned Friday he would not be allowed into this country for a speaking tour that’s scheduled to bring him to Toronto and Ottawa later this month.

A former Labour MP, Mr. Galloway is a contentious figure whose public support for Hamas and Hezbollah has led to accusations he is a terrorist sympathizer.

“Accusations?” Yes, personally handing over thousands of dollars in cash to Hamas might tend to lead to “accusations” of that type.

Galloway Hands Cash to Hamas.

UPDATE at 3/22/09 12:22:02 pm:

And please note…

Mr Galloway is due to make a speech in Toronto on March 30, following a US lecture tour, but will be turned away if he tries to enter Canada.

You'd think a government official would know that a sovereign country has the right to allow or reject people from entry.

The minister will not "provide special treatment to a man who brags about giving ‘financial support' to Hamas, a banned terrorist organization in Canada, or who offers sympathy for Canada's enemies in Afghanistan," Velshi wrote in an e-mail. "I'm sure Mr. Galloway has a large Rolodex of friends in regimes elsewhere in the world willing to roll out the red carpet for him. Canada, however, won't be one of them."

I wish our President had balls like this.

While traveling on a British Passport (that is how they got Lord haw Haw) former MP Galloway announces that he is defying British Law and funding people that HMG have declared to be terrorists. Remember it isn't a matter of insulting Israeli or American law here that matters, what he did broke British Law. Then another of Her Majesties Dominions, fully independent under the Statute of Westminster, refuses him entry. He then threatens that government. At this point he could be brought up on charges by the UK, Canada, Egypt, and Israel. Perhaps the ICC could declare him a threat to the peace and pop him into a cell.

BTW he renounced his British Passport and took a Palestinian Passport while he was in Gaza. Probably meant it as a publicity stunt but, 1) it doesn't get him legally off the hook in the UK because he traveled on the UK passport, 2) if he presents a UK passport to enter the US it could be grounds to refuse entry.

"Lord Haw Haw"

He was tried on three counts of high treason:

* William Joyce, on the 18th of September, 1939, and on other days between that day and the 29th of May, 1945, being a person owing allegiance to our Lord the King, and while a war was being carried on by the German Realm against our King, did traitorously adhere to the King's enemies in Germany, by broadcasting propaganda.
* William Joyce, on the 26th of September, 1940, being a person who owed allegiance as in the other count, adhered to the King's enemies by purporting to become naturalized as a subject of Germany.
* William Joyce, on the 18th of September, 1939, and on other days between that day and the 2nd of July, 1940, being a person owing allegiance to our Lord the King, and while a war was being carried on by the German Realm against our King, did traitorously adhere to the King's enemies in Germany, by broadcasting propaganda.

Joyce was executed on 3 January 1946, at Wandsworth Prison, aged 39. He was the second-to-last person to be hanged for a crime other than murder in the United Kingdom. (The last was Theodore Schurch, who was executed for treachery the following day at Pentonville. In both cases, the hangman was Albert Pierrepoint.)

I'm talking about cases like this Galloway thing, or those cases where inmates claim emotional distress because their prison sandwich had chunky peanut butter instead of smooth.

Chunky peanut butter ?

Sick of hearing about the AIG bonuses? Don’t worry, Newsweek has dished up a fresh helping of outrage:

Follow the Bailout Cash

Members of Congress are raking in the campaign cash from banks and firms that have taken in billions through the Troubled Asset Relief Program. A few bailed-out banks, including Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase, have cut back on campaign donations, Newsweek reports, but “others are quietly doling out cash to select members of Congress, particularly those who serve on committees that oversee TARP.” Among the recent donations: Bank of America gave $24,500 to Rep. Steny Hoyer, and Citigroup dished out $2,500 to Rep. Eric Cantor. While Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Financial Services chairman Barney Frank “both said recently they won’t take donations from TARP recipients…House Democratic fundraisers have quietly passed the word that the party’s campaign committee will resume accepting them,” the magazine reports.

Muslim Council of Britain Out in the Cold, Again

The Government has severed relations with the country’s leading Muslim organisation, saying a senior member is a supporter of Hamas, the Palestinian military organisation.

A letter leaked to The Independent on Sunday shows that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears, wrote to the Muslim Council of Britain, calling for Dr Daud Abdullah to resign.

She alleges he was one of 90 Muslim leaders from around the world who signed a public declaration of support for Hamas, the elected government of the Gaza strip in Israel, and military action against Israel.

A spokeswoman for the department said: “We are concerned that the statement calls for direct support for acts of violence in the Middle East and beyond. We are also aware that a senior member of the MCB may have been a signatory to this statement. If it is proven that the individual concerned had been a signatory, we would expect the MCB to ask him to resign and to confirm its opposition to acts of violent extremism.”

Upon being denied entry into Canada, George Galloway quickly announced that he would sue any other Jew loving nation that would infringe upon his rights as a citizen of the United Kingdom to speak freely and give as much money as he can to anyone he wants to. George quickly adds, " Who do they think they are to actually add it up?"
Drop the puck and punch this asswipe in the face.

Nice quote from that article:

Isn’t it time for the MCB to drop its attempts to partner with the Government, and for the Government to cut the MCB loose for good? Like oil and water, pro-terrorist politics and democracy will never mix. The best those who attempt such a synthesis can hope for is an emulsion.

Like a spoilt hollandaise sauce, that emulsion has now separated.

226 formercorpsman  Sun, Mar 22, 2009 1:30:43pm

I really think this is a truly disturbing trend we are seeing as it relates to fatalities of our city police forces.

Philadelphia is having a major problem with officers being killed in the line of duty.

Somehow, the tide has turned in this country. There has always been monsters, and monstrous acts. What appears to be happening now though, is the act of martyrdom wit these criminals.

I know what my short answer is, but that is not a long term solution. Plus, in a sense, this animal achieved that objective on his own.

Totally OT,
I was just reading the message board of a MA newspaper. Someone asked the moonbat columnist who wrote a "what's the big deal?" piece on Obama's "Special moment" if she thought it was as bad as "nappy-headed-ho's" was? Or if we could expect to see the U.S. Special Olympics Bowling Team on Oprah tearfully describing how hurtful the remarks were.
I thought it was a good question.
Where's Oprah?

The 10 most outrageous prison inmate lawsuits of all time

1. Inmate claimed $1 million in damages for civil rights violations because his ice cream had melted. The judge ruled that the "right to eat ice cream was clearly not within the contemplation" of our forefathers.

2. Inmate alleged that being forced to listen to his unit manager’s country-and-western music constituted cruel and unusual punishment.

3. Inmate sued because when he got is dinner tray, the piece of cake on it was "hacked up."

4. Inmate sued because he was served chunky instead of smooth peanut butter.

5. Two prisoners sued to force taxpayers to pay for sex-change surgery while they were in prison.

6. Inmate sued for $100 million alleging he was told that he would be making $29.40 within three months, but only made $21.

7. Inmate claimed that his rights were violated because he was forced to send packages via UPS rather than U.S. mail.

8. Prisoner sued demanding LA Gear or Reebok pump athletic shoes instead of Converse.

9. Prisoner sued 66 defendants alleging that unidentified physicians implanted mind-control devices in his head.

10. Death-row inmate sued correction officials for taking away his Gameboy electronic game.

No wonder my country, the UK, is in the mess it is in when misfits like Galloway is elected to the highest chambers of office. If you look at the ruling Labour party it is full of ex communists. The other side, the Tories, aren't much better but would be an improvement than this rotten corrupt shower.

Make no doubt about it, the British people will make it's verdict on the shambles of government we have later on polling day at the Euro elections in June, and if the rumours are to be believed, at the general election towards the end of this year.

238 Wm T Sherman  Sun, Mar 22, 2009 4:27:15pm

Galloway tried to stop visit by far-right French politician

George Galloway, the British MP who's been declared persona non grata by the Harper government, once demanded that Britain's Labour government block a visit by far-right French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen.

Galloway, an outspoken opponent of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, was informed Friday he won't be allowed into Canada for a scheduled four-city speaking tour because he led a convoy that delivered humanitarian aid to Hamas officials in Gaza earlier this month.

Canada considers Hamas a terrorist organization. In a letter, Robert Orr, the immigration program manager at the Canadian High Commission, told Galloway his "material support" for Hamas makes him inadmissible under Section 34 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Galloway has vowed to fight the ban in court.

"That's the way the right-wing, last-ditch dead-enders of Bushism in Ottawa conduct their business," he sneered in an article he wrote in Saturday's Guardian.

In the article, he described Jason Kenney, the minister of citizenship and immigration, as a "gay-baiter, gung-ho armchair warrior, with an odd habit of exceeding his immigration brief."

The irony in post #238.

Much like the US, Canada can stop anyone we want from entry(except citizens). So I'm happy to say so far the system is working(as long as something doesn't get stuck in the gears). I'm not sure how this would work anyway, it's federal law. I'm sure it could hit the supreme court in about 6 years however...and by then it wouldn't matter.
