Obama the Werewolf Killer

What’s got into the Associated Press today? They’re actually criticizing Obama for using a teleprompter in his press conference.

WASHINGTON – What kind of politician brings a teleprompter to a news conference?

A careful one.

President Barack Obama took no chances in his second prime-time news conference, reading a prepared statement in which he took both sides of the AIG bonus brouhaha and asked an anxious nation for its patience.

“There are no quick fixes,” he said, “and there are no silver bullets.”

Is Obama trying to fix the economy or kill a werewolf?

Maybe someone at the AP realizes that if Cardin's newspaper bailout goes through, their income stream dies with it?

Someone at AP took the red pill? /

There are no quick fixes and there are no silver bullets, so that's why Obama demanded passage of the porkfest $800 billion package, which doubles the deficit, demands passage of a bloated appropriations bill that again adds to the deficit, and yet Obama wants people to think that any improvements in the economy to date are based on his policies?

Sorry to break it to him, but the economy is improving despite Obama's policies and that of the leftists (or statists as Mark Levin would call them). Housing is going to improve because interest rates remain low and foreclosures are bringing home prices closer in line to actual values that reflect the current market conditions without the inflationary influences of unqualified buyers flooding the market - driving up prices and makes homes LESS affordable.

There's still something to it, because if you have an Ivy League degree, it still opens doors that are tough for other grads to get through.

It doesn't take into account those who don't deserve to have those degrees though. It just means everyone else has to work that much harder to get to the same place.

While everyone has ridiculed Chris Matthews for his lapdog tingle, a more insidious Obama sycophant gets a pass.

All during the campaign and after every Obama appearance- like last night- ABC appoints the Democrat apparachik and former Clinton aide, George Stephanopoulos, to grade Obama.

To everyone surprise, I'm sure- he gave Obama last night an A-

In a Communist and/or totalitarian state, ABC and Stephanopoulos would easily be recognized for the [Obama] Government propagandists that they are.

Maybe it's a California thing, but I've always heard "silver bullet" as a generic term for a magical fix. I believe the point he was trying to make is that there are no quick, magical fixes for the situation (if there were, then Bush would have fixed them). Wikipedia seems to agree with me:

"The metaphor of the silver bullet applies to any straightforward solution perceived to have extreme effectiveness. The phrase typically appears with an expectation that some new technology or practice will easily cure a major prevailing problem."

But again, maybe it's just a regional term, and Wikipedia certainly isn't the most reliable source.

But speaking of gaffes, now it looks like the left-wing media is trying to deny the Irish teleprompter mix-up gaffe first reported (as far as I know) by LGF:

An often bumbling, verbally stumbling, stammering, unprepared, uninformed, uncertain, insecure, void of substance, issue clueless, opinion vacant, empty suit reading a script and last but surely not the least on the list, a stupid One which defines Mr. T to a capital T!
The real tragedy is that those who asked questions were more than likely spoon-fed the questions before the show and called upon in pre-determined fashion so as to facilitate the proper reading of the answers on the mega teleprompter by President T. It is absolutely scandalous how deeply and thoroughly anchored the MSM is up Barack X Obambi's ass.

I met a traveler from the Potomac
Who said, two vast and countless piles of debt
Stand in the Congress. Near their bursting sacks
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose set
Uncomprehending expression of slack
Shows that the sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on that lifeless pan
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed.
On the pedestal these words are arranged;
"My name is Obamandias, Historic Man!
Look on my works, for I bring Hope and Change!"
Nothing beside remains. 'Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level Mall stretches away.

A trillion updings for that!

While the teleprompter might let Mr. Obama blame someone else whenever the answer turns out to be wrong, we would like to have a president who occasionally comes across as more than a TV anchor reading a script.

Geez, I really hate to disagree with you, but I must. I don't think Obama is "brilliant" or anything more than "bright".
His academic achievements - such as they are, we've never been privy to his grade/course transcripts the way we were with Kerry and Bush - mean he was a good student. That doesn't equal a "brilliant" person.
Moreover, his rapid rise is I think rather clearly due to the assistance of others - starting with Mayor Richard "King" Daley - and moving up from there to include the MSM, ACORN and all of those unidentified campaign contributors who enabled him to disavow his pledge to take public financing and thereby outspend John McCain by 7-1.
His actions while POTUS thus far have indicated to me that he is a man of extreme political cunning - using Bush and class-warfare to enable him to get us to the point where we are nearly a banana republic.
According to LGFer Juante, there are over 300 critical jobs at the Treasury Department - to date, Obama has managed to fill only 75.
I'd think an awful lot of the best and brightest would want to work for the Obama administration and what we have so far is Geithner and Panetta.

I find him to be an arrogant, ignorant, shady, untrustworthy person that associates with criminals and racists and he must rely on his electronic machines to assist him when speaking in public. He is a stuttering fool without his teleprompters. I also think that those Americans who voted for the guy are ignoramuses and I hope that they get what they deserve, it looks like they already are.

There was a TV program in the 1950s about confidence games and con men. It used real cases and showed the public the danger of confidence schemes and damage to peoples lives it caused. Every opening to the show started with "These are people who will pat your back with one hand and pick your pocket with the other". It sure reminds me about President Obama's speeches during his press conferences and rambling TV interviews.

I agree totall with everything you write except one small thing. I do not think he has acted as POTUS with extreme political cunning as you write. Instead he has acted precisely like a community organizer preaching gloom and doom to his base of brown shirts, riotous speech focused on the haves vs. have nots battle and played the bash-Bush-hand he has constantly been freely dealt by the MSM at every opportunity like they do. He is simply playing the Parrot and speaking / organizing a much larger community or nationwide brown-shirt, Acornish base which takes no cunning. He has simply moved his 'community organizer' tent or HQ from Chicago to Washington on the saddled backs of the MSM with both stirruped-feet on our necks. He will continue to take the easy free-ride.

More of this stupid teleprompter crap propaganda. You all act like he's the first president to ever use a teleprompter in the history of politics. The truth is all presidents use either a teleprompter or have what they are going to say on paper in front of them for these kinds of speeches.

Just as a sample of how much this constantly-repeated nonsense is a right-wing/media distortion of reality, consider the story a few days ago about Obama supposedly "thanking himself" in the press conference with the Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen. The truth of what happened is that after the teleprompter malfunction caused Cowen to start into the intro of Obama's speech, and Cowen realized he was repeating what Obama had just said, Obama made light of the situation by getting on stage and saying "I'd like to thank President Obama..." to much laughter from Cowen and the audience in the room. In other words, he was joking, making light of the mistake by Cowen, not demonstrating that he's "lost without a script" as a post here a few days ago asserted. But the truth of this incident won't stop the right from using the distorted report as a stitch in the fabric of the "teleprompter mythology" they are weaving.

Mr. Sandman, what you say is not true. No other president in US history has relied on teleprompters as much as Obama has. For small speeches, medium speeches, large speeches, you name it. Obama does not leave home without one.

Obama turning into a stuttering idiot without his multiple teleprompters is not a myth, it is a fact.

150 mad mullah  Wed, Mar 25, 2009 12:05:18pm

Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual — not only because he is famous for his oratory, but because no other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small.

After the teleprompter malfunctioned a few times last summer and Obama delivered some less-than-soaring speeches, reports surfaced that he was training to wean himself off of the device while on vacation in Hawaii. But no such luck.

Wrong. He is not a good speaker. After the first sentence he is lost and can't seem to remember what he just said. The teleprompter is not the real issue. His off-the-cuff answers are just not that good. Yes, he can read a speech with a lot of style; but, it is just style over substance.

Sadly, none of his tales are any good, so he gets whacked anyway.

No, WE have to help ourselves. (You could argue "Heaven" sent us an alternative, who LOST by 7 or 8% of the vote on November 4)

By "an alternative" do you mean that old guy that just pretended to run for president? The alternative who said "fight, fight, fight" and then quit in several states? Is that the alternative you mean?

My Male wouldn't let me watch the press conference, because we can't afford a new TV.

I've installed a windshield wiper on my TV set because, every time B-HO appears on TV, my mother spits at the screen.

He's treating the economy like it was a werewolf! Not satisfied with having drained it of it's life blood (aka stimulus), he wants to put a silver bullet between it's eyes (aka his budget plan).

re: #3 buzzsawmonkey

No, it's not a matter of werewolves. The Lone Ranger used silver bullets.

Obama is the Loan Arranger.

I like it . :-)

171 DeathtotheSwiss  Wed, Mar 25, 2009 3:11:13pm

This article isn't criticizing Obama at all. In fact it's so full of propaganda and subjective pro-Obama talk that it literally makes me sick to read it. Obama's numbers are steady? He passed the opportunity to "demonize Washington"?

Is Charles being sarcastic here?

re: #138 Mr. Sandman

More of this stupid teleprompter crap propaganda. You all act like he's the first president to ever use a teleprompter in the history of politics. The truth is all presidents use either a teleprompter or have what they are going to say on paper in front of them for these kinds of speeches.

How many presidents take a teleprompter to a rodeo?

Werewolf There Wolf

174 DrNaughty  Wed, Mar 25, 2009 6:03:24pm

Clearly Obama is doing his best to vote "present" and take no sides in any debate.

175 The False God  Wed, Mar 25, 2009 6:21:35pm

No, no. He meant what he was saying:

Capitalism = Werewolf
His Cure = Silver Bullets

Right?

176 sffilk  Wed, Mar 25, 2009 8:23:18pm

Actually, Charles, a silver bullet is used to kill a vampire.

re: #99 Fred72

Maybe it's a California thing, but I've always heard "silver bullet" as a generic term for a magical fix.

I just tried a bunch of quick Google searches using either "silver bullet" or "magic bullet" in combination with keywords like "cure," "drug," "medicine" "cancer," "AIDS," "malaria," etc. Overall, "magic bullet" seemed to be the more commonly occurring phrase, but not by a really huge margin.

In my mind, "magic bullet" sorta connotes a broad-spectrum effectiveness against multiple kinds of problems, whereas a "silver bullet" will perhaps solve only one specific kind of problem, but against such a problem it works 100% of the time.

re: #138 Mr. Sandman

My seach of youtube would suggest that you are correct. If anybody has a clip indictating otherwise, please post it. Clips about the disputed incident are not the same as an actual clip of the president "thanking himself". We do not gain stature by mindlessly repeating badly spun propaganda. If we have the video anywhere, please post.

Whenever you encounter a werewolf, just throw money against it.

No academic history; at schools across the globe but FMSM has no interest in this record.
No employment history; at least nothing of any consequence.
No experience history; this is becoming more evident each day.
Never owned a business; but he's working his way toward 'owning' numerous business.
Never ran a business; take your pick of his foul-ups ... oh, and it is NEVER his fault.
A year or so as a Wall Street 'lawyer' ... in which he did not excell.
Odd, Bush had a 25 year old DWI and it is front page news the week before the 2K election and yet there is NO trail of any kind on the ObamUH and his druggie years.

I keep my dear Dad's assignment of those who deserve it alive by saying about the Teleprompter President:
He is a COMPLETE and UTTER FRAUD.

You stole my post. >_

 Frank says:

It began with lyrics, but even looking at the PMRC fund raising letter in the last paragraph, at the bottom of the page, it starts looking like it's branching into other areas when it says 'We realize that this material's pervaded other aspects of society' and it's like 'What, you gonna fix it all for me?'
