Gitmo Inmates to Be Released in US, Given ‘Assistance’

US News • Views: 3,857

President Barack Obama is not only planning to release Guantanamo Bay inmates into the United States—he’s going to give them welfare.

President Barack Obama’s intelligence chief confirmed Thursday that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on US soil and receive assistance to return to society.

“If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life,” said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.

“You can’t just put them on the street,” he added. “All that is work in progress.”

They’ll get to work in mosque schools. There seems to be a shortage of instructors for courses on Jihad in the US.

Again we see who Obama considers worthy of being supported and defended, just wish it were the American people instead of terrorists wanting to kill us all.

20 BlueCanuck  Fri, Mar 27, 2009 8:49:19am

Can’t turn them out on the street? I agree with that. But for different reasons then they are saying. Why do we need these scum here with easy access to cause us even greater harm?

21 lawhawk  Fri, Mar 27, 2009 8:49:20am

No, you can’t put them on the streets. You can, however, put them on the dole.

Part of this relates to the Uighurs, who have been held at Gitmo, but can’t be released back to China because of fears of persecution, and no one else wants to take them in either.

The problem is that the language being used is so expansive that anyone, up to and including KSM, could be given the royal treatment, regardless of their acts of war against the US, taking up arms and being caught on battlefields attempting to kill American forces, or captured and admitting to carrying out or plotting/planning terrorist attacks, including 9/11.

Words have meaning, and the Administration has gone down the rabbit hole claiming that we’re now in Overseas Contingency Operations dealing with man-made disasters when they’re realing describe the battle against the jihadis waging jihad against the West using all tactics available in an asymettrical manner, including terrorism directed at civilians.

Then I read a NYT article about how one of the released detainees is now some high up commander in the Taliban and started to appreciate just how wise the Bush administration was to setup Gitmo. ok. I feel realy sorry for these Uighurs.
theres no evidence they really are hardcore baddies and they REQUESTED they be kept at Guantanamo. They BEGGED. we wanted to send them home almost as soon as we picked em up. So we kept them there, because they were desperate to stay. (that will tell you about the “inhuman conditions” at GITMO.) So i think theres prolly no ill will from their stay. They didnt want to go back to China to be shot. BUt turning them loose here on welfare is , well, crazy. Totally crazy. Like “are you on crazy pills? type crazy…
its a PR Nightmare.
And its just plain nuts. i wish some other nation wanted them. Most of the time, Uighurs are not the same kind of muslim terrorists that we are dealing with tho the chinese would like us to thinks so. helps with their genocide thing goin on. They are harder on them even than the Tibetans, tho we feel less sorry for them, cuz they fight back and are muslim. So they are muslim terrorists.
That said….
I wish they could have been placed in Toronto. or Moscow. Moscow would have been great actually. but keeping them here?
not good. JUst one more reason to think this admin is freakin nuts.
(yeah i study these people and so i kinda HATE what the chinese do to them. Ethnic cleansing started long before they started resisting. Seems since they arent Mahayana Buddists they are as amenable to genocide by the Han Chinese as the Tibetans. They asked us for Help. we said no. The Taliban said ok. WE have been manipulated by china on this one top tolerate the intolerable in this case.)

Whenever I read stories like this I’m always reminded of the words of Winston Churchill who said that in a democracy, the people get the government they DESERVE.

It is easy to blame Obama, or Pelosi, or any of the other myriad leftist 5th columnists who are working so continuously for the destruction of our nation and its reforging as a socialist dystopia.

But what you have to remember is that these people were elected. They didn’t just show up one day on the steps of the capitol and the white house and demand the keys. It is the failure of the American people to perceive them for what they are and to say NO that has led us to where we are today.

So the next time you’re tempted to blame the symptom, remember the root cause.

OT-A Clear Danger to Free Speech

…Deputy Solicitor General Malcolm Stewart has gone before the Supreme Court arguing that McCain-Feingold gives the government the right to ban books and films.

At issue is a film called Hillary: The Movie, a documentary produced by the nonprofit group Citizens United, which did not wish to see Senator Clinton elected president. Because McCain-Feingold prohibits so much as mentioning a candidate’s name in pre-election communications paid for by certain disfavored groups — unions and “corporations” — the filmmakers were informed by a federal judge that showing their work would constitute a crime.

So hypothetically, a jihadist whose goal was to kill and maim as many non-believers as possible, and does kill and maim, gets caught, held in a cushy prison with all his archaic needs met, can fling poo and pee and the Marines in charge of guarding them, claim false “torture” (by becoming too fat) and whining to his lawyers how unfair life is; can be gleefully escorted to America, again coddled and given room and board and a little spending cash from the same taxpayers he wants to maim and kill and the White (and black) House calls this O-tay?

Tangential topic -
Upon arriving in the United States in 1949 with her two teenage sons, my paternal grandmother nervously asked her husband, “Are you sure the communists won’t attack us here?” My grandfather replied, “Yes. Unfortunately this country will be destroyed from within.”
Most of my ethnic friends’ families also sought refuge in this bastion of liberty. That is what makes the betrayal of this country and its principles by a majority of them on November 4, 2009 all the more maddening. My repeated calls of “The emperor has no clothes!” fell on deaf ears and I am sure that I was painted as anything but patriotic in my absence. I can understand the Uighurs wanting to have their independence from China. But what does that have to do with fighting Americans in Afghanistan?

they were caught there at the beginning of the war. they diodnt go there to fight americans. Uighurs at that point were generally not hardcore islamists either, they are partial shamanists. and therefore sorta Kefir. they keept that part to themselves got training and got home most of the time, up till that point.
generally uighurs arent interested in fighting us. Chicoms are their enemy. not us. Some will now. Im not saying they wont
and im not saying we should take em
or that taking them isnt stupid
im just saying this a wrong we shouldnt right this way.
and i think its hypocritical, cuz we havent done anything to help these people before. Dont intend to help in the future.

I was called alarmist, because I warned of coming socialism and was basically told that I didn’t actually know what was heading our way and maybe, just maybe it would turn out that whatever did come might be good for me. Ha! “I was told that I didn’t actually know…” Isn’t that telling? That means all of these people voted for someone about whom they knew nothing and cared not that they didn’t. This photo from election eve put a chill up my spine nearly five months ago and still does. I cannot begin to describe my father’s reaction. The real laugh line is that the ones who apparently even might be innocent, the Uighurs, will be returned to China, on the Chinese government’s “assurances” that they will not be mistreated.

From what I’ve seen of The One and his minions, they’ll believe whatever the old men in the Forbidden City say- and after it turns out that they were (as usual) lying through their teeth, will claim that either (A) they are shocked- shocked!- by the results, or (B) claim that it never really happened at all.

I can not think of anything I am comfortable with saying, here, in public, or frankly anywhere, that describes my utter and complete contempt for this bunch of brainless, self-absorbed, narcissistic a$$holes.

Wise decision; he’s clearly shallow and provincial. Your brother clearly needs to get out a great deal more.

I remember a thread here years ago where we compared the different cultural quirks in America (a country) to Europe (a continent). California alone could be its own country; its size is a benchmark to at least two: Japan (former enemy/current commerce partner) and (newly-liberated!)Iraq.

All he has left to do to make it a Platonic essence of a fuck up is bring up gun control and try to ram-rod it through the Senate. And it is not out of the question he’ll do just that.

He has his propaganda machine on it already. They are saying that virtually ALL of the auto and semi auto weapons being used by the drug cartels in Mexico are coming from the US…they will use this to bring back the “assault” weapons ban, and will then move on to handguns.

They have the talking heads on TV pushing this lie, just watch gretta van cesspool and her reports form Mexico this week…She had hillary on there talking up the gun ban, stating that the weapons are coming from the US, and that the drug cartels are also using grenades and rocket launchers…
The TRUTH is, the majority of of the weapons being used by the cartels come from south of Mexico’s border, or are provided by the corrupt police/ military.

It is all part of the zero’s plan, and the sheep are eating these lies and propaganda up.

I am reminded of a classic scene in “a bridge too far.” Gene Hackman and Sean Connery, playing polish and british generals respectively, were listening to a presentation on a planned air drop behind german lines. the plan was for them to quickly take a nearby bridge (forgot which one). the RAF man tried to show them the landing site on the map and ended up finding it was so far it was actually off the map, about 8 miles away (which is a long way to go in enemy territory). Hackman stands up and approaches him and look him over very carefully in an angry and somewhat intimidating way. The RAF man says, puzzled, “can i help you?”

“I just wanted to get a good look at you,” Hackman says, “to make sure you are on our side.” and then he walks out.

(mind you these are paraphrases, but i got the gist at least).

Anyway, that’s how i feel increasingly. is he just incompetant or on the other side? i am being a little facetious, but really, how could he be so clueless?

Btw, when he tries to push this plan through, is it okay to hope he fails?

Back about a decade ago in Denmark Banditos and Hell’s Angels were fighting, mostly over drug territory. Denmark has heavy regulations on purchasing firearms. IIRC, one side shot up the others clubhouse with a freaking RPG. Nice to see gun control work so splendidly.

You know, if the Mexicans were really concerned about guns coming in from the United States, then they would work with the Boder Patrol to seal the fucking border. No illegals coming north, so there won’t be illegals in America to buy any guns and ship them back to Mexico.

Problem solved. Of course, they would never do that. It’d be like racist ‘n shit. I don’t know who would howl louder, the Mexicans or the Democrats, but howl they would. Guaranteed.

The Republicans need to (Gawd, how many times will I see or type that) take the Hillary “message” and run it ALL OVER the MSM THIS WEEKEND.

Message: Hillary says US gunz evil, flow to Mexico.
Solution: Seal the border, stop evil gunz.*

Message: Hillary says drugz bad, US demand forces drugz cartels to import

Let’s write the NYT story in advance for the day one of these crazies goes jihad and kills someone:

“He was captured on the battlefield with a machine gun while on his way to buy a pack of cigarettes and imprisoned at Gitmo for several years. He was forced to eat 3 square meals a day. I give the Kennedy family or the Shriver family thanks for telling Obama off about making fun of Special Olympians.

Hope decent Democrats felt shame over his showing his intolerant attitude. He wouldn’t want his daughters burdened with “differently abled” children.

Dennis Blair made this announcement.

This is the same Dennis Blair that chose Charles Freeman and went as far as defending him in congress:

National Intelligence Director Admiral Dennis Blair, who chose Freeman for the council position, had defended him in Congress earlier on Tuesday as a man of “strong views, of an inventive mind and the analytical point of view.” Blair said he preferred that to “precooked pablum judgments.”

Dennis Blair previously went as far as seeking the nomination of Charles Freeman on his own.

I don’t know, perhaps. Could have been sea sickness that led to a permanent inner ear disorder which spread to other parts of his brain. //

Here’s some another highlight on Dennis Blair from Wiki:

Reports of disobeying orders

According to journalist Alan Nairn, Blair disobeyed orders from civilians in the Clinton Administration during the 1999 East Timorese crisis during his tenure as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Command. Amid growing international concern over violence against the independence movement in Indonesian-occupied East Timor, Blair was ordered to meet with General Wiranto, the commander of the Indonesian military, and to tell him to shut down the pro-Indonesia militia. According to Nairn, two days after the Liquiçá Church Massacre, Blair failed to deliver this message; instead he presented Wiranto with an offer of military assistance and a personal invitation to be Blair’s guest in Hawaii.[5] Consequently, Wiranto’s “forces increased the Timor killings”.[6] During his confirmation hearing as Director of National Intelligence, Blair responded to the accusations: “In our conversations with leaders of Indonesia, both military and civilian, we decried and said that the torture and killing that was being conducted by paramilitary groups and some military groups in East Timor had to stop”; “those who say that I was somehow carrying out my own policy or saying things that were not in accordance with American policy are just flat wrong.”[7]

Wesley Clark is another good example of previous Clinton administration crackpots. In my estimation Dennis Blair represents a sample of whom Obama will replace Secretary of Defense Gates. Another might be Michele Flournoy who is another dreg from the Clinton administration.

I’m late to the party and have to return to work. But, my thoughts:

Why can’t these 17 Chinese Uighurs be returned to the exact spot that they were detained? If they were captured on a field or hill in Afghanistan, take them back and drop them off with rations for a week and some local cash.

They survived there before, they can try do it again. If that’s not satisfactory, then return them to a low security Afghan prison/jail for a time period before they are permitted to just walk out the door.

Just don’t turn them loose here. That makes no sense at all.

When I tried to get temporary help last year after I severly broke my ankle, was laid up for 4 months unable to work, used up all the money I had to pay off what medical bills I could because I had no insurance, tried to get temporary help from medicaid just to pay off the rest (about $4000) and nothing more, even offering to pay it back when I was able to have a job again, I was turned down?

Did I take a wrong approach somewhere? Was offering to pay it back the problem? Can I yell discriminaton against non terrorists?

President Barack Obama’s intelligence chief confirmed Thursday that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on US soil and receive assistance to return to society.

“If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life,” said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.

“You can’t just put them on the street,” he added. “All that is work in progress.”

This, along with the Administration and Congress’ complete ineptitude of everything else that matters, shows the whole Jackass process is run by a group of fucking idiots.
