Here are some of the ‘factual errors’ that on its website AMW has tried to correct:

The ‘myth that Hamas is out to destroy Israel
The ‘myth that Palestinian rockets are a grave threat to Israeli civilians’
The ‘myth that five Arab armies tried to wipe out Israel in 1948: ‘Strictly speaking, therefore, the Arab states did not launch a war against Israel, but undertook an armed intervention which was both lawful and justified.’

Disgusting. The MSM is the enemy!

Its a bit like that 'secret' leftie journalists' online group, which tells the members what to write.

This group is certainly not known to the public - we only get to read their propaganda as filtered by the BBC and the LLL press.

A three-course dinner was then served, with Arabic music in the background, quotes from the night's speakers projected on screen, and a raffle and auction which included five-star holidays, paintings by renowned Arab artists, and antique Arab furniture.

What ethics?

Obama gets list of top Muslim Americans

In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation's most qualified — Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and public servants, all carefully vetted — has been submitted to the White House.

The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was bumped up two weeks because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, who sifted through more than 300 names.

"It was mostly under the radar," Williams said. "We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn't know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community."

In many companies, accepting a gift or entertainment beyond a certain dollar value is considered unethical and grounds for firing. In my company, $25 is considered the limit of what you can accept before your judgment is considered 'compromised'. It doesn't take much over the limit to get your butt canned, either.

To some extent AMW has filled the gap left by the failures of the Palestinians and Arab governments to state their case as effectively as they could and should've done.

Translation:

They lie very poorly. Let us show you how it is done.

31 wrenchwench  Sat, Mar 28, 2009 11:43:40am

There was entertainment.

A performance by comedian Ian Stone was followed by the presentation of AMW's annual award for excellence in journalism

Here's Wikipedia on Ian Stone:

Ian Stone
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Ian Stone is a British stand-up comedian, mainly famous for appearing as a guest on shows such as the comedy panel show Mock the Week. He's also a regular guest on BBC Radio 5's Fighting Talk. Stone was born in North-West London, the first son of David Bowie.[1]

[edit] Career

Stone began his career as a stand-up comedian in 1991, after being persuaded to get on stage by his girlfriend.[1] He first performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 1996, in a tour controversially called, A Little Piece of Kike. The organisers forced Stone to asterisk the word, "Kike," as it is considered racist. Stone commented about the term at the time saying, "I saw a description of it. ‘It said low-class, ill-mannered Jew,’ and I thought, ‘That's me!’"[1]

Stone later appeared on several television shows, including The 11 O'Clock Show, The Late Edition, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Mock the Week. He also interviewed fellow Jewish comedian Jackie Mason on BBC Radio 4's arts programme Front Row.[1]

There is indeed an identifiable fifth column of pro-Israel U.S. citizens -- I have described them here and elsewhere as Israel-Firsters -- who have consciously made Israel's survival and protection their first priority, and who see worth in America only to the extent that its resources and manpower can be exploited to protect and further the interests of Israel in its religious war-to-the-death with the Arabs. These are disloyal citizens in much the same sense that the Civil War's disloyal northern "Copperheads" sought to help the Confederates destroy the Union. The Israel-Firsters help Israel suborn U.S. citizens to spy for Israel; they use their fortunes and political action organizations to buy U.S. politicians with campaign donations; and most of all they use their ready access to the media to disguise their own disloyalty by denigrating as anti-Semites or appeasers fellow citizens who dare to challenge them. The Israel-Firsters are unquestionably enemies of America’s republican experiment and will have to be destroyed...

Israel Firsters looks to be defined as any supporter of Israel.

So you're asking why am I posting a rant from some Nazi site. Is this from David Duke or another known hater?

No. This is from a man who is regularly interviewed in the media, someone who held a crucial position- where by the way he failed miserable (must have been the Israel Firsters' fault).

These are the opinions of Michael F. Scheuer, ex CIA, now Professor , Georgetown University.

This is not surprising. Why investigate and have to report real facts if you have a website and a group of people to do your "fact checking" for you?

This group makes it so much easier for the press than actual reporting, which can sometimes be hard work when done right. Sometimes the facts are so obvious, but that may get inconvenient too.

Interesting. A quick google of Ian Stone turned up his name in some nazi-type literature from a site: radioislam.net
Also, from a comedy review site Comments on Ian Stone:

I saw Ian Stone at Jongleurs in Camden. He was thoroughly offensive making jokes about rape and Muslim people. Not my idea of intelligent humour...and who cares if he has a big nose? He must have spent a quarter of his routine talking about it.

I saw him recently in a small venue in Hampstead where he was doing a preview of his Edinburgh show. While it is true he did make fun of other groups he certainly upset this Jew personally. He was clearly insensitive to what might be offensive to his own. Surprisingly despite the fact that it was a Edinburgh preview he appeared to be just doing a normal stand-up ie largely unscripted and responding to those in the audience. May I suggest that someone can do that for 20 minutes - but for an hour! ulgar brand of narrow-minded criticism borders on nazism; how dare he insult whole cultures like he has the right as a comedian to shit on others. He is a repulsive, tallentless creep

As a first step, he should be asked about the actual numbers: how many 'Israel-Firsters' are actually around, in real life, not in his imagination.
and then he should be asked to provide the actual number of 'Ummah-Firsters' ...

Looks like they picked the perfect entertainment. Ian Stone also defends this sort of comedy that jokes about the Holocaust:
link

An emotional row has broken out at the Edinburgh Festival over whether comedians should be allowed to make jokes about the Holocaust.
Nearly a quarter of the audience walked out of a show by the gay American comedian Scott Capurro on Tuesday night after he caused uproar with a gag that finished, "Holocaust Schmolocaust, can't they find something else to whine about?"...
Ian Stone, the Jewish comic whose show title has been amended to A Little Piece of K*** in the festival programme, defended Capurro's right to "walk that fine line". He said: "I know Scott and he is a compassionate guy, and people should understand that this is comedy.

"His comedy is about challenging prejudices. He sees himself as an outsider and thinks Jews should reclaim words that have been used against them, as gays have done.

"The 'Schmolocaust' line will be offensive to a lot of people, although I would have laughed because of the shock. No one has ever really said that on stage before; it's off limits even for Jews."

Stone, whose own routine is much gentler in tone, has still run into problems for joking about the need of Jews to "marry out" for the sake of their looks.

It's pretty disgusting that people can become so jaded they have to resort to joking about the Holocaust just so that they can feel like they're being "edgy".

What strikes me is that no one challenges him.

By the way, the Washington Post today published Saeb Erakat espousing the mantra that will become de rigueur for the foreseeable future - that the election of Netanyahu proves Israel is against peace.

No one is asking, nor is Erakat addressing in his piece, why no peace was accomplished with Olmert, who pretty much was willing to give up everything but midtown Tel Aviv.

There are many lobbies, and those that are anti Israel, including the press who uncritically publish such crap, join the other anti Israel lobbies who in power and funding and influence dwarf anything Israel supporters could ever dream of attaining.

Israel's best lobby is the so far substantially clear thinking American people.

At least this episode of media support of extremists is well documented. Still waiting for a certain vid that the LA Times has of the TOTUS and his Islamist buddies.
