Wall Street Journal Expels Paul Belien’s Fascist Website

Blogosphere • Views: 4,015

I don’t know when it happened, but the Wall Street Journal quietly removed Paul Belien’s Eurofascist website Brussels Journal from their OpinionJournal Federation page.

This LGF post might have had something to do with it: Brussels Journal Advocates Tribal Nationalism, White Separatism.

IIRC, the WSJ still employs for real journalists. They saw this BS and tossed it to the curb.

Yes, indeed. LGF would make a fine addition to any blog role.

James Taranto of the Opinion Journal, is the best!
He's written so lovingly of his Turkish Jewish relatives' experiences.
Thank you Charles for exposing bad actors.

13 Sharmuta  Thu, Apr 23, 2009 7:23:40pm

I'm very happy to see this as the trashy, racist, homophobic brussels journal and it's little desk dropped the mask very quickly on Charles and Bruce Bawer too, when Charles published an email from Mr Bawer stating these parties at the infamous "counterjihad conference" were indeed fascist parties. It should be noted- Paul Belien is married to a VB politico.

The bj really stinks, and this kick to the curb by the WSJ was well deserved.

Brussels Journal, et al, have made their choices.

If Paul Belien and Donald Douglas want to shock me, they'll need to try harder. Their sites have potential - as the softcore S&M gay pr0n clearinghouse of Europe. Given what we've learnt about Jorg Haider, I doubt they'd lose much traffic; and they'd open up a whole new avenue ... of readership.

Speaking of things that go boom, this really doesn't surprise. Two sons of a Gitmo detainee died playing with a hand grenade in their house. The explosion killed the two, and one has to wonder why a businessman would have hand grenades in his house.

Racist parties such as the BNP and antisemites such as Jean Marie LePen's National Front are not welcome and have not been invited.

Last year the BNP wasn't only invited they were featured speakers.....
Communists Riot so German Police Stop Anti-Islamification Rally in Cologne (Google chache)

Extremist Communists rioted in the streets of the German city of Cologne this morning, attacking police, vandalising property and setting fire to rubbish bins.

This scandalous behaviour gave the German police the excuse they needed to ban the anti-Islamification rally due to be held in the city, at which the BNP’s Richard Barnbrook was to have been a guest speaker.

What a difference a year makes, eh?

Als Redner sind ua vorgesehen der FN-Vorsitzende Jean-Marie Le Penn, der Vlaams Belang-Fraktionsvorsitzende Filip Dewinter, der FPÖ-Chef HC Strache sowie Harald Neubauer, der auf Vorschlag der DVU auf Platz 2 der Landesliste der NPD Sachsen zur Bundestagswahl 2005 aufgestellt wurde. Because "Palin" is synonymous with "freakshow" on the left side of the aisle. Moose-hunting? Lots of kids with goofy names? Strange accent? Loud and scary? Republicans like her? re: #101 JacksonTn

The photos are apparently not as shocking as the photographs from the Abu Ghraib investigation that became a lasting symbol of U.S. mistakes in Iraq. But some show military service members intimidating or threatening detainees by pointing weapons at them. Military officers have been court-martialed for threatening detainees at gunpoint.

"This will constitute visual proof that, unlike the Bush administration's claim, the abuse was not confined to Abu Ghraib and was not aberrational," said Amrit Singh, a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, which obtained the agreement as part of a long-running legal battle for documents related to Bush-era anti-terror policies.

If these 44 pictures are not as shocking as the famous ones, they would not have even made the news in 2004. Obama's just using them to stoke up more hate against Bush and the Republicans.

And to do it now when Pakistan is about to become Khmer Rouge II... this does not help the national interest one bit.

Just in time for yawm al-jum'at! I hope no-one here lives near any mosques, things could get unpleasant after tomorrow evening's rant...

It will be used for years both nationally and internationally. You know, I'm trying to "remain calm" but this is such an outrage. Obama is insulting the efforts of the previous 8 years that kept us safe. What purpose does it serve to release the memos, threaten prosecution, and now release 44 photos?

This is as someone has suggested an attempt to "throw a bone" at his base. But it's also a political move to smear the Bush administration and thus the Republican Party. It is a political move no doubt endorsed by the political hacks Emanuel, Axelrod and Dean.

And what of the possiblity of congressional hearing which may come? Reid is "looking into it" and Pelosi is game. Once that begins it will turn into a media and political circus once again motivated to not only bash Bush but to insult the efforts of our efforts to stem the tide of terrorism.

[Interviewer]- Whoever is born here is not a guest. That is their land just as well as it's yours

DEWINTER: I always think that a cat born in a fish shop is not a fish just because of that - to express it plastically. It takes maybe a few generation before people are completely assimilated. But that is the intention in the end: Be a Fleming among Flemish. But than we should also make an effort on our side to make it clear to them . And we don't do that

Defense Department to Release Photos Showing Detainee Treatment in Iraq, Afghanistan

I wonder if this is the stuff that Rumsfeld, Cheney, or someone, called "Radioactive"?

The Department of Defense -- on the heels of the firestorm over the release of Bush-era memos on CIA interrogation techniques -- said Thursday it plans to make public at least 44 photos depicting potentially abusive treatment of detainees at prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The decision to release the photos was announced Thursday in a letter filed in a federal court in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union in 2004.

I don't know. The only thing I can think of is that the motivation behind Obama is to attempt a "confessional" of sorts to lay things out to the international community. The only strategy I've seen from Obama thus far amounts to photo-ops and rhetorical advances to antagonistic and undemocratic nations. This also includes that video he had made for the "Iranian people." You can almost say it's an MTV strategy in which he thinks if he presents himself as a cowering smiley faced American to our enemies they will love us.

Right now the focus has shifted to these enhanced interrogation techniques and former bush officials. The terrorist villain is off the radar and the message from the Obama administration is the United States played a villainous role in the war on terror. Perhaps that is part of his strategy which is as I stated previously a confessional (which also has political value for the Democrats) which will help improve the perception of the United States across the world.

I knew from his campaigning that he was a socialist and feared that since socialism has failed in every single nation in which it has been tried - indeed it's not too much of a stretch to say that without the United States bearing virtually ALL of the burden of defending Freedom around the world, most European nations could never have afforded to try socialism the way they have. They would have had to spend waaaay too much of their respective GNP's on defense to allow anything close to 40% (I believe its higher in France) of their populations on the dole.
BUT, I was still willing to give our new President the benefit of the doubt; he is, after all, OUR President too. re: #191 karmic_inquisitor
Hey karmic_inquisitor - from your link:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday endorsed the establishment of a formal truth commission to investigate Bush administration anti-terrorism policies, including an examination of former top Justice Department lawyers who crafted the legal justifications for what critics say was torture.
Such a probe could target UC Berkeley law Professor John Yoo, a former deputy assistant attorney general in the Bush Justice Department who was instrumental in crafting the interrogation memoranda, and his former boss, Jay Bybee, now a judge on the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

Pelosi's endorsement follows President Obama's signal Tuesday that he was open to the idea. Obama's shift, in tandem with last week's release by the administration of past memos describing brutal interrogation techniques on terror suspects, has touched a match to the seething controversy over whether there should be a public or legal accounting for Bush administration policies on torture and detention.

The Obama administration had initially downplayed any suggestion of prosecutions, provoking an outcry from the left. Now the outcry is coming from the right, with even moderate Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania warning that such investigations, without evidence of criminal acts, smack of a banana republic.
In a sit-down with reporters in her Capitol Hill conference room, Pelosi, a San Francisco Democrat, said the advantage of such a commission would be that "it removes all doubt that how we protect the American people is in a values-based way." She also said she knew several years ago that Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County), was overheard on a wiretap, a controversy that erupted early this week.

Liberal Democrats have been pressing the issue for months with little traction, given the Obama administration's reluctance and fierce Republican resistance, but now are re-energized. Republicans moved to dash what they called a retrospective tribunal that would unfairly target officials who followed legal guidance at the time and intimidate officials going forward.

A furor has also erupted over Obama National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair's statements last week that "high-value information" came from the interrogations, indicating divisions within the administration.

[emphasis realwest]
Even if they do investigate what did PELOSI know and WHEN did she know it, this is nothing more than an attempt to mug Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et.al., it is also, I believe, an attempt to totally discredit our intelligence agencies and our military. And that move is indeed a calculated one, although other than political payback, I can fathom no reason to do that.

Of Course, Islamabad ISN'T the big deal city the MSM would have you believe; it's mostly unoccupied except when the locals have to get together - frequently with emissaries from the real government, but still what's poor Obama to do?
He CAMAPAINED on the idea of INVADING Pakistan should we need to, to capture or kill the Taliban. This conveniently overlooked the fact that Pakistan does have nuclear weapons and missile delivery systems to take those nukes to almost anyplace in India AND has at least one mutual defense treaty with China.

Well I think you'd have to break down that crew somewhat. What is motivating Pelosi, near as I can tell, is sheer evil - she wants to KILL the Republicans (not literally, politically) - she's gonna get re-elected from her district the way a Kennedy would in Massachusetts, so she's NOT doing it for her own re-election chances. Maybe she wants to show that the Speaker of the House can make things happen. Strangely enough, I think the only real brake on her political ambition/greed/need is Pesident Obama. There will be NO HEARINGS, NO INVESTIGATIONS by Holder or by any congressionally mandated commission if Obama says "NO". What bothers me more than anything else is that so far at least Obama is saying "go for it."
Why HE would want to do that I have no idea - he'll only be President until 2016 (only being a relative term here) and the same crap will be pulled on him when he's out of office. But he is INCREDIBILY IMMATURE and that fact may not yet have sunk in.

Hell they don't even use the one I suffered from the worst in the 8thSFG Recondo training: forced to kneel on a stick of bamboo, with my arms tied tightly behind me (usually with a bamboo rod inserted between my arms) - the pain of which was FAR WORSE than any of at least 8 of those 10. I've never been waterboarded, but - at the same place - had my head forced face first into a bucket of water and held there for what seemed like eternity. I can understand the complaints about waterboarding that lasted more than 10 seconds or so, and if the insect appeared deadly, that woulda given me a heart attack, but I respectfully submit THAT WHAT The Ten tortures used were not unusual nor, on reflection of my own experiences, really inhumane either.
BTW, my kneecaps still have "bursitis" like lumps on 'em.

Given the threat we face here in America, I'm willing to let the Germans evaluate how much of a fascist threat Rouhs and Reitz pose to Germany, and I'm willing to let Pamela Geller decide which conferences she does and does not attend.

How much of fascist threat? Can he be any more flippant regarding the background of these two miscreants? That in itself reveal a great deal about Robert Stacy McCain than anything else. In the end his diatribe is a weak vehicle for a feeble claim that Geller is sacrificing herself for immigration reform.

Are you shitting me? Leaving waterboarding to one side - and maybe the "deadly insect" those are all fairly common interrogation techniques (like sleep derprivation, face slapping NOT hard enough to hurt but to surprise and shock the prisioner).
Crap, the way the LEFT is dealing with this makes it sound like we used electrodes to genitals, made prisioners stand barefoot on a water soaked floor while a little electricity was touched to the floor, and that sort of thing.

Which is why I finished my blog thread with McCain as an example and a link to some truly horrible examples of REAL torture.

This, again, is an example of the left using terms in order to minimize the words and make the issue at hand sound worse than it is. Such as referring to Gaza as a concentration camp.... that sort of thing.

Outstanding column, Obama's Mideast Myopia

...
4. Said Obama: "I am a strong believer in a two-state solution. I think there are a lot of Israelis who also believe in a two-state solution." This is a not-so-veiled slap at Prime Minister Netanyahu for not embracing Obama's mantra to put Palestinian statehood at the head of the line. And why did Obama fail to say anything about how many Palestinians favor a two-state solution? Why is it only important that Israelis do? Why not admit that many Palestinians reject a two-state solution and want a single Palestinian state from the river to the sea? After all, Hams iron rule of Gaza and as a sizeable political presence in the West Bank isn't exactly chopped liver. If Obama were really serious about playing the role of impartial, honest broker, he'd have to, at a minimum, spell out how Abbas can negotiate for the Palestinians as long as he can't speak for half his people.

Those who call themselves "conservative".

There is no universally accepted definition of "conservative", and perhaps there can't be (as it is locale dependent to some extent.)

I also use that because in the blogosphere the past few years there has been lots of heat generated by some who lament that so-and-so is not a "true" conservative. (We saw lots of that with McCain.)

Noted. I guess it's like pornography; hard to define, but recognizable when seen? ;-)>

Wolcott's not nearly as cuttingly funny as he thinks he is: "[Pamela Geller is] blogdom's Sarah Palin of High-Decibel Disassociation".

Also not as smart. The word he's groping for is "dissociation":

Psychiatry split off (a component of mental activity) to act as an independent part of mental life.

But I agree with him in that I have as much use for Sarah as I do for Pam.

Here we see Manfred Rouhs speaking at Pro-Koeln rally in Cologne, Germany.

The man on his left is Mario Borghezio.

According to Wiki Borghezio has the following record:

In 1993, he was fined 750,000 lire for beating a Moroccan child. Later, he obtained some notoriety for spraying seats where Nigerian prostitutes had been sitting on the Turin-Milan train, in order to sanitize them.

In September 2005, Borghezio was found guilty of arson, for having set fire to the belongings of some immigrants sleeping under a bridge in Turin during a vigilante raid, and fined 3,040 Euros.

An odd collection of Mario Borghezio images can be found on Google including some of him holding up signs of the PDN.

I believe that is a symbol for Movimento Giovani Padani. The leader is Umberto Bossi who has called for the Italian Navy to open fire on asylum seekers.

The more I look into European politic the more I realize how hypocritical the European media is towards the United States. Europe is full of stark raving crazy politicians.

Europe is full of stark raving crazy politicians.

And this is new how? Outside of the UK, most of continental Europe has always had many fringe parties. Germany was like that in the 20's and 30's when there were more than a dozen parties, each polling almost a million votes.

No I saw it in LGF Spy. Odd how it vanished.

It's new to me since I've been ignoring European politics. Oddly enough Umberto Bossi is a form Communist party member that called for the shooting of "fascists." Yet he is a fascist himself -- allegedly.

Spencer:

"Pro-Köln, he says, is a neo-Nazi group, and he has a photo of some guy who is not involved with Pro-Köln but is wearing a Hitler-style overcoat to prove it. And if Pamela, Paul and I are speaking there, well, we must be Nazis too, right?."

Once again Spencer has to resort to using the strawman argument that he is being accused of being a fully fledged Nazi. It's stupid, but what the heck, it's easy to refute, and his crowd seem to love it, so why not?

He continues:

In reality, the fact that we were invited to speak indicates in itself that Pro-Köln is not a neo-Nazi group

Reading the article here, I see that Charles called out Pro-Koln as a far-right group with neo-nazi links, not as a neo-nazi group outright. One thing that isn't liked over at Jihad Watch is nuance. It's becoming clear that part of the whole attraction of Jihad Watch generally is the distorted 'simplification' of the world he offers his readers.

From [Link: www.blokbuster.be...]

"Among the guests of honor at the demonstration of Pro Köln were Bart Debie of the Vlaams Belang, but Reinhard Günzel, a supporter of the Nazi Hermann Göring.”. Günzel is a former military troops who are sometime held that the same discipline as the day had put the Spartans, the Romans or the Waffen-SS."

"Pro Cologne has always maintained friendly ties with known neo-Nazis. Alex Reitz is one of the most well-known neo-Nazis in Germany. In 1999 he offered assistance for the election of Pro Köln. Below you see a picture of Reitz together with the leader of Pro Cologne, Manfred Rouhs."

But none of that matters - according to Robert Spencer, Pro Koln assuaged any concerns over their neo-nazi links simply by inviting Robert Spencer.

Conclusion - Spencer is full of shit, and doesn't seem to be thinking before he opens his mouth these days, perhaps because his uncritical followers are so ready to accept any account of his no matter how weak.

[RS McCain]: I'm willing to let the Germans evaluate how much of a fascist threat Rouhs and Reitz pose to Germany.

How about if we let the Pushtuns evaluate how much of an Islamist threat the Taliban pose to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Or if we let Gazans evaluate how much of a terrorist threat Hamas poses to Gaza?

Our issue is NOT the threat they pose internally; our issue is the threat they pose to us.

But then, RS McCain knows that. RS McCain is a liar and a coward.

re: #223 Outrider

What is a "self proclaimed "Conservative"?

He means the American equivalent of what Muslims call "the takfiri". They're the kind of true-believer who specialises in weeding out deviants from their own ranks. "He's not a real Muslim! He's a crypto-kafir! Takfir!"

I must stress that there is a place for takfir in any movement; certainly the umma has a right to eject a weirdo like, say, al-Hallaj from their ranks (or else "Islam" would be a meaningless term). And we do have honest-to-God RINOs in the party, like Olympia Snowe, who do more harm to the economy than help.

But someone who yells "RINO, RINO" at non-creationists, neo-cons, and the like - someone like RS McCain - has headed off into Wahhabi territory.

261 Land Shark  Fri, Apr 24, 2009 7:51:37am

To me, the real reasons these "white nationalist" types have to be avoided have nothing to do with what the Left or Mainstream Media would say. In spite of Charles' considerable efforts to distance LGF from these fascist white supremacists, the Left continues to smear this site and the people who post here as racists, white supremacists, you name it. And notice their MSM buddies only talk about Charles when he's criticizing Conservatives who associate with these fascists, never when he criticizes Islamofascism or Obama or the Left in general. No matter what Conservatives do to separate themselves from the white supremacist types, all of us will still continue to be lumped in with the fascist / white supremacist slime.

The real reason Conservatives should stay away from alliances with those slugs is that they are piss poor allies in any fight for freedom. These people have a fundamental hatred of Jews they can only temporarily suppress. And they hate any non-whites like Hindus with whom we should be making common cause with against Islamic totalitarians. They are using the legitimate fear of Islamic supremacy as a vehicle to increase their influence and push their agenda. There's probably many with great sympathy for Islam due to it's strong anti-Jewish character, let's not forget the admiration with which Hitler is viewed in many parts of the Muslim world and Hitler's own admiration for Islam for it's militancy and anti-Semitism. Plus these white supremacists take a dim view of anyone who doesn't agree with their agenda, if you're white and oppose their white supremacism, you're their enemy as well.

The fight against Islamofascism is a fight for freedom. To make common cause with people who would suppress the freedom of certain groups isn't just morally wrong, it's suicide. They will turn against you sooner or later, or against our Jewish and other allies. It's only a matter of time. Too bad so many in the anti-Jihad movement seem unable to grasp this.

So? When Reagan left office, he was 77.

And was already suffering the early symptoms of Alzheimer's by then...

I have to agree, the mid 70s are a dangerous age to be effective as a President. Medical science will come to our rescue but I think until then, there should be an upper limit of age 75 for the executive - and judicial - branches.

re: #261 Land Shark

Good post, but I will nitpick here. The Euro-fascists love Hindutva. They think that if you have to have a diverse country, like India (or America, or maybe even Italy), then it is right and good that the lighter-skinned brahmins and warrior-caste (kshatriya, iirc) ought to lord it over the darker castes.

I think if you plunge into some of the archives of these blogs for their comments about the Gujurati massacre a few years back, you'll find excuses for the Hindus carrying it out...

264 Land Shark  Fri, Apr 24, 2009 8:18:37am
