This is the second hour of Rush I'm listening to today (I don't listen to him that much, don't care for him), and he's still putting down politicians and voters who's social conservatism is geared to being a "bigger tent."

He says they are just trying to get reelected, and that's all. It appears that there is no stopping the whole GOP from moving about as far right as they can.

I'm glad that the newspaper story finally said what has been obvious to most of us for a long time. It is almost painful to watch Leno's monologues these days. He's still peddling lame jokes about Bush's child-like stupidity (yawn) or Clinton's infidelity (bigger yawn). I've yet to hear a single joke about any defect or shortcoming of Obama. Occasionally there's a joke about someone in Obama's cabinet, but never about Obama himself. And speaking of humor, I find a decided lack of it produced by the President. In your first post you implied that the President's impact on the market is analogous to the impact a cheerleader has on a football team (i.e., little or none) - from which I would infer that neither his success nor his failure would have a major impact on business and the markets.
