New LGF-Related Blog: Defending the Defensible

Here’s a new blog that will be of interest to LGF readers: Defending the Defensible.

"Savage_nation," by the way, was banned from LGF after he posted several ugly ranting comments about how he was going to murder his daughter's boyfriend.

Then he sneaked back in with the name "cutestguy," and started up again. At "LGF2," he has posted more than one comment fantasizing about assassinating President Obama.

This person is seriously deranged, and should be in a psychiatric hospital. Instead, he's a blogger. And Robert Spencer links to him.

Most of the people mentioned in this blog post have also tried to re-register numerous times at LGF -- Rodan (real name: Jay Pagan) has done it at least five times, once posting a series of ranting, obscene comments before the sock puppet account was blocked.

About 6 weeks ago in the middle of the night..about fruitcup time I ws cruising some blogs when I came across somebody that claimed he was banned by Charles for no reason at all..Just out of the Blue..

BTW - nodrog has gone into hibernation mod again (I only visit these blogs every 6 months or so - like I said: bad karma black holes).

Anyway, for those who remember Nodrog lecturing people on Muslims and our intrinsic racism, you have to read his paean for Robert Spencer getting "blocked and banned" here.

Great site. As a physican and a scientist I choose not to debate pseudoscience with Creationists. I admire Charle's interest in helping to debunk these and other nutjobs; i.e., anti-vaccines. If they call it a bully pulpit, so be it. I have never detected a hint of any sort of bias, religious or otherwise on Charle's part.

The FBI suspects that serial killers working as long-haul truckers are responsible for the slayings of hundreds of prostitutes, hitchhikers and stranded motorists whose bodies have been dumped near highways over the last three decades.

I tried to explain to one of these anti-LGF loons (on Harry's Place, of all places) that LGF is not a public institution that has been charged with the responsibility to air whatever crap comes out of their head. His response was essentially to try to say that yes it is, and his rights had been trampled on when Charles shifted the focus of his blog. What can you say to idiocy of that order?

I think they tortured small animals. Some went on from there to even less tasteful hobbies.

In a way, it's good that they have a place to vent, and where someone can keep an eye on them. On the other hand, the anonymity the Internet provides gives them a forum where their views can't be seriously challenged, as they would be in a face-to-face discussion, and where they even get reinforcement for their delusions from the like-minded screwballs scattered thinly across the landscape.

There's a guy in one of the threads downstairs tiptoeing up on calling for genocide of all Muslims.

One of the reasons I like it here is that there is a distinct absence of such nutjobs. On far too many right-wing (and left-wing) blogs, they are far too numerous, vocal and tolerated.
