UC Irvine Muslim Student Union Antisemitic Hatefest, Featuring Cynthia McKinney

I’ve posted many times about the radical Islamic group calling itself the Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine; well, they’re at it again, with another anti-Israel extravaganza featuring hate speech and conspiracy theories from the likes of the notorious Cynthia McKinney and the completely insane Abdel Malik Ali: Amir Abdel Malik Ali, a UCI Muslim Student Union Fave, an Anti-Semitic, Homophobic Coward.

A representative of this hate group has posted dozens of videos of the event at Youtube. What’s going on at UC Irvine is almost beyond belief.

Let’s cut into McKinney’s speech, just as she really gets going into her “Jews control Washington” rant:

The Honorable Gus Savage, on the day he was defeated in a primary election for Congress, blamed the "white racist press and the racist, reactionary Jewish misleaders" for his loss, comparing himself to the slain Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X. He was defeated by a young, bright African-American reformer and future BadBoy, Mel Reynolds.

SNIP

Gus wouldn't talk to the press, saying that most of the press is "racist" and includes too many Jews. He called "historically, culturally and politically accurate" Louis Farrakhan's statement that "Hitler was a great man" and that Judaism is a "gutter religion." He's been know to respond to reporters questions by calling them "faggots" and asking "Are you still messing with little boys?"

Savage got in trouble (not the first, nor the last time) because of what happened on a trip to Africa. The House Ethics Committee concluded that he made improper "sexual advances" to a young female Peace Corps volunteer during a trip to Zaire in 1989. Savage sent a letter of apology: "While in Zaire earlier this year," it said in part, "if you felt personally offended by any words or actions of mine, I apologize, because I never intended to offend and was not aware that you felt offended at the time."

So what went on? The Peace Corps volunteer, a 28-year-old female, was invited to have dinner at the U.S. ambassador's residence, with Savage and others in attendance. She was to brief Savage, a few days later, on the work of the Peace Corps in Africa. After the dinner, she agreed to accompany Savage and several others on a tour of Kinshasha's night life. Savage insisted that he and the woman ride alone in the chauffeured limousine. According to the woman, Savage, "aggressively and repeatedly fondled her in the back seat of the embassy car despite her strong spoken protests and physical resistance." "As soon as the . . . cars pulled off from the ambassador's residence, he grabbed me," she said. "He tried to force me to have sex with him." Finally, an information officer from the U.S. embassy escorted her from Savage's car and took her home. The woman had to be medically evacuated back to the U.S. and underwent six weeks of intensive therapy given to victims of sexual assault. The U.S. ambassador later chewed out Savage for his improper conduct.

The Peace Corps volunteer, who has not been identified, was called "a traitor to the black movement" by Savage.

Did you read that story in the Lancet's "blog," claiming that Israel was using a powerful new weapon against the Gazans? This weapon supposedly caused large numbers of Arabs to be instantly vaporized, without a trace, while leaving all the surrounding buildings, trees, etc. unharmed. They couldn't provide any proof of this, of course, because (obviously) all of the vaporized Arabs had vanished without a trace. Just how the Jooos planned it.

Lancet was, historically, Britain's most prestigious medical journal. The equivalent of the New England Journal of Medicine in America.

Well, yes!
And he "appears" under the aegis of so many different group names, that it would be difficult, I think, for folks getting involved in something to know what exactly it is they've signed on to.

It seems he has piece-mealed his issues, so that there's a separate group for each issue, and separate groups for a grouping of issues that will appeal to certain folks (like these young 'uns).

Have I gone crazy, or is that what's happening?

Didn't the Lancet also claim that coalition forces killed more than a million Iraqis?

Yes. Well, they published a paper that claimed that. And that wasn't in their online "blog," that was in the actual journal, where some of the most significant peer-reviewed medical studies in the world are published. Many scientists later spoke up, criticizing that paper's research methodology, and asking to review the raw data. As I recall, the authors wouldn't allow review of their data, as is but the Lancet stood by the paper.

The "blog" thing is different. It's not peer-reviewed. And eventually Lancet retracted the ridiculous vaporizing weapon story. I found a link to another blog's discussion of that issue. Apparently I remembered it wrong. The secret vaporizing weapon not only vaporizes humans, but in fact "all objects and living things are vaporized with minimal trace." Which makes it all the more bizarre that it was published in the first place. It there were huge swaths of Gaza that had been turned into flat, barren wasteland, couldn't someone take a photo or something?

Anti-Semitism at UC Irvine

Posted: June 8, 2007

The Muslim Student Union at the University of California at Irvine organized a series of anti-Israel events in May 2007 featuring lectures by anti-Semites and Israel bashers. The presentations, as well as literature distributed by the students and a large display set up on campus grounds, delivered a mix of hateful messages, anti-Semitism, conspiracy theories and support for terrorist groups.

Two of the more extreme events were called "Holocaust Memorial Week" and "Israel: Apartheid Resurrected." These featured Imam Abdul Alim Musa and Imam Amir Abdul Malik Ali, the anti-Semitic leaders of the Sabiqun movement, and Mohammed al-Asi, a radical DC-based Islamist known for his pro-Iranian and pro-Hezbollah positions. Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, a spokesman for the Neturei Karta anti-Israel fringe Jewish sect, was another of the participants...

Senate Judiciary Committee Recognizes UC Irvine Anti-Semitism

n an interesting turn of events, the US Senate Judiciary Committee has now decided to weigh in on the issue of antisemitism at UC Irvine. In a letter to the US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings (signed only by Republican Senators Jon Kyl, Sam Brownback, and Arlen Specter) , certain members of the committee demand that the Office of Civil Rights pursue their investigation into claims of antisemitic harassment at UCI in part because the incidents on campus fall under Title VI, of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, that is, the prohibition of national origin discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal assistance. Despite prior policy statements from the Department of Education and the United States Commission on Civil Rights, the investigation narrowly tailored the negative use of "Jewish" as a critique of religious faith rather than national origin discrimination. The dually defined term "Jewish" is also in fact supported by case law. It was affirmed by the Supreme Court as both religion and national origin in Shaare Tefila Congregation v. Cobb, 481 U.S. 615 (1987).

The letter also notes that the Department of Education failed to interview claims of antisemitism from witnesses in the report sent to them from the Zionist Organization of America.

Nevertheless, the Muslim Student Union did in fact invite speakers who targeted Jewish involvement in politics, business, and culture. Absent was a scholarly debate on religious faith.

Documentation:

2. Here is the original Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights Report in question.

Considering that those Sixties "college radicals" are, for the most part, the leaders of the modern"progressive' movement, I've long suspected it was more along the lines of "I'm right, everybody else is wrong, and one day I'll be the one giving all the orders." Condemn Anti-Semitism at UC Irvine

To: UC Irvine Chancellor Michael Drake
We, the undersigned, call on you to speak out and publicly condemn the annual Israel-bashing event on campus that is being sponsored by UC Irvine’s Muslim Student Union from May 5-21, 2009. The title alone – “Israel: The Politics of Genocide” – reflects that this event, like previous Muslim Student Union events, will demonize Israel and make false and hateful accusations against Israel and Jews. Individuals scheduled to speak at this event have a record of making hateful and vilifying statements about Jews, Zionism and Israel. A program like this one can promote violence against Jews on campus and beyond.

In addition to publicly condemning this event that will promote hatred of Jews and Israel, we call on you to condemn the Muslim Student Union, the perpetrators of the anti-Semitic bigotry. This group continues to violate the values and principles of the UC Irvine community that specifically call for “a learning climate free from expressions of bigotry.”

As an American, you have the right to speak out and explicitly denounce anti-Semitism, especially when it occurs on your campus. As an educational leader, you have the moral obligation to speak out.
Sincerely,

I will never again be a Democrat. I will never again be a Republican. Two sides of the same coin borrowed from my grandchildren.

I've had similar experiences. But I've never been a Republican. Or a Democrat. I've identified myself as a Conservative for years, though, and for the most part the Republicans have gotten my vote as a result. Lately, though, whenever I've mentioned that Conservatism is completely opposed to the sort of government interventions demanded by the religious right, and that such an imposition of one particular religious doctrine on the populace flies in the face of both Conservatism and the Constitution, I've been called...well, all sorts of unpleasant things.

re: #156 opnion

Totally of topic movie review, The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Apparently Keaneau Reeves peaked in Bill & Ted, really bad acting.
Aliens come here to kill the human race to save the Earth from us, cause you know, like we pollute & stuff.
Reeves is the head Alien but with a heart. People keep saying, "but we can change" I expected to hear Hope & Change.
This is an Al Gore wet dream of a movie.

The original's message was; "You may do as you wish here on Earth, but if you threaten other worlds you will be reduced to cinders". In short, we were given a chance to "clean up our act".

The new version is more like, "Your very existence threatens a planet we want- yours. Time's up."

It's not so much a "remake" of the original as a slightly-less-deliberately-obtuse version of Independence Day.

/I didn't bother seeing it. I'll stick with the good movie from 1951.

Oh that's the really good part. These aliens identified only about six planets fit for habitation & wouldn't you know Earth is one of them.
Now these aliens fouled their original planet & were now stewards of the remainig six, so Earth belonged to them.

I'm still calling myself a Conservative - I still believe in smaller, non-intrusive government that stays the hell out of my business as much as possible. Given the reception I've been getting at some so-called "right wing" blogs, however, it doesn't seem likely that the GOP will be receiving my help, if this is what they're going to morph into.

From Reut Cohen:

UC Irvine's sponsorship of antisemitic, anti-Israel events
Every year the Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine hosts events demonizing the State of Israel. The events often cross the line into antisemitism. The group is certainly within their rights to hosts events, no matter how theatrical and repugnant. This year is no different.

What is concerning, however, is that thousands of student tuition dollars subsidize these programs which promote ethnic hatred and lies regarding the State of Israel. Last year student government allocated over 5,000 dollars to the group for their May events which only serve to propagate antisemitism and ethnic hatred against Israelis.

Considering that those Sixties "college radicals" are, for the most part, the leaders of the modern"progressive' movement, I've long suspected it was more along the lines of "I'm right, everybody else is wrong, and one day I'll be the one giving all the orders." Not so much joining a "movement" as looking for a way to "optimize their personal influence" (translation; shopping for just the right club to beat everyone else into submission with).

re: #148 karmic_inquisitor

FYI and kinda OT -

I just got a call from a newly formed PAC of Newt Gingrich's.

I have given money to such PACs in the past and am used to getting such calls.

The call involves hearing the recorde pitch from Newt and then someone coming on afterward, asking a loaded question that should lead you to give money.

Newt's pitch was about fiscal conservatism and controlling government and individual liberty.

I told the guy after the call that I agreed with Newt 100% and that we do indeed need people in Washington that will reverse the growth of government and deficit spending.

"Great! How much can we count on you to give to help us bring this about?"

"Nothing" I responded. I then told him that I have zero confidence that if the current Republican Party took control of the congress that there would be any substantive action on fiscal issues. We had control 4 years ago and managed to expand government for political favors and pushed the social agenda while ignoring the fiscal one.

I then told him that I will only support people who will put fiscal conservatism ahead of the social conservative agenda. I want an explicit pledge that efforts on abortion, teaching creationism, school choice, gay marriage, and stem cell research will be placed on hold until after republicans have achieved permanent cuts in the size of the government and a budget law that forces an end to deficit spending.

They guy's response? "You are a RINO and we don't need your help" and he hung up.

These assholes will ride fiscal conservatism back into office and then whip up the frothing masses over abortion and creationism while they sell away your children's future just as fast as any Democrat would.

I want to thank Newt Gingrich for providing me with the cathardic experience that allows me to say the following: I am done with the Republican Party

I will never again be a Democrat. I will never again be a Republican. Two sides of the same coin borrowed from my grandchildren.

Thank you! . . . for this script for the next call or mail-in request for a donation that I get.

One or two freakin' beheadings, for a start.

Hellooo, Mr Godwin.

Snark aside: you're being imprecise. We already have a separate judicial system, like Iran's Council of Guardians; and we already compel moral virtue under that system, in the form of criminal justice. We don't incorporate very much moral virtue in the Constitution, but there is some: copyright law and prohibition of slavery come to mind.

Your heart may or may not be in the right place, but it rubs me the wrong way to see a debate over where the line is drawn tagged with the whole agenda of social conservatives. I don't like it when creationists do it, proclaiming that the Bible equals righteousness and that deviation from it amounts to a sin and a borderline crime. But you're doing the converse: proclaiming that morality is fungible and that insisting on standards makes us Iranian fanatics.

Was this the worst acting, or what?

What, you thought Keanu Reeves was an actor?

He's the opposite of Johnny Depp. Depp is a supernaturally-talented mimic and "chameleon" who can play almost anything. (His turn as "Raoul Duke" in Terry Gilliam's Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas is the definitive screen portrayal of Hunter S. Thompson, no matter what Bill Murray did in where The Buffalo Roam.) Reeves, by comparison, seems never to bother to even read the script, or ask himself "What's the character about?"

He made the (already stupid) Matrix trilogy unwatchable, and the film adaptation of Constantine actually painful. (If you want to see how John Constantine, the Hellblazer, should have been played, check out either Ewan MacGregor in Trainspotting or Bruce Willis in Sin City.) Let's not even get into how badly he bilged it in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

When I heard that 20th was going to remake The Day The Earth Stood Still in a way more closely based on Harry Bates' original story, "Farewell To The Master", I sort of envisioned Liam Neeson as Klaatu. With Reeves picked for the role', I then suspected that the final product would (a) have little or nothing to do with either the original short story or the original film, and (b) would most likely be an unwatchable mess. Sadly, I was correct on both counts.

cheers

I don't think so, but if they'd written a part for Cynthia, she would no doubt have claimed it was owned by Jews.

And he only played Jonathan Harker- more colorlessly than usual for a Dracula movie, which is an accomplishment in itself.

Bill Campbell, as Quincy Morris, was really horrid. Oldman as Dracula was almost good... by comparison.

Even Sir Anthony Hopkins looked embarrassed as Van Helsing- and his was about the best performance in the movie.

re: #148 karmic_inquisitor

FYI and kinda OT -...Newt's pitch was about fiscal conservatism and controlling government and individual liberty.

Okay, I now see where you are coming from. This guy got your dander up and now you're non-inclined to draw the lines I'd like you to. And why not? You got a call from a jerk-head who refused to draw the same lines. I can't blame you for extrapolating from that miserable experience.

If I'd been the caller I might have responded, "I agree with you totally on creationism; and in part on some of those other issues. Would it be okay if I brought this up with the people who sent me to you, and get back with you on what I find? Would you like to compose an email that I can forward?"

"...bomb, and there's a BLAST!" [accompanied by a hop and a large gesture] "And as a result of that blast there is TOTAL BODY DISPLACEMENT!" [her emphasis, along with another hop and wild gesture] "And what I would like to liken our political system today is this... total. body. displacement." [gesturing with a flourish - accompanies by more mindless droning]

When Paleo suicide bombers blow up pizza parlors and buses, "total body displacement" will now be the sanitized and emotionally-neutral euphemism for human carnage.

What an asinine response - they called you, and then the guy passes such a mind-bogglingly stupid, childish value judgement on you because you dared to suggest that their priorities are misplaced? Even from a basic customer service viewpoint, that response boggles the mind. Good enough for fisticuffs, even, were it delivered in person.

Why is it that people believe the story that the all-powerful, globe-ruling Zionists have been perfectly content with a country the size of New Jersey, and have given back the Temple Mount and the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip? They do not think much of the far-sightedness of their evil, world-controlling Jewish cabal.

/ is this needed?

297 David Simon  Sat, May 16, 2009 6:31:17pm

Good grief. She invokes Gus Savage. This Gus Savage:

Savage also gave a speech where he listed the names of all of the Jewish donors living outside of Chicago area who donated money to his opponent's campaign. This led to a backlash and claims that only white people could be racist. The press claimed that Savage made statements against both white and Jewish people that were considered to be racist and antisemitic. In 1989, Savage was accused of trying to force himself on a female Peace Corps worker in Zaire. Savage denied these allegations and blamed it on the "racist press." In January 1990, the House Ethics Committee decided that the events did occur, but it did not take disciplinary action because Savage wrote a letter of apology to the woman.

Savage had long been controversial even in his own district, never winning a primary election with more than 52% of the vote, and usually facing multiple challengers. Before the 1992 election, his district was extended further into Chicago's south suburbs due to redistricting, and Savage faced Mel Reynolds in the primary election; Reynolds had previously challenged Savage in 1988 and 1990. Savage claimed that "racist Jews" were donating to Reynolds, and that Reynolds was involved in a drive-by shooting, which some aides claimed happened due to Savage's remarks. Savage accused Reynolds of staging the shooting, but lost the election by a margin of 63%-37%.

[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

I remember reading a Chicago Magazine profile of Savage way back; he dismissed the sexual harrassment charge by saying, "ain't nothing wrong with a grown man makin' love to a woman, is there?" He also referred to Chicago reporter Mike Flannery as a "faggot."

As a longtime UC Irvine student, graduate, employee, I've been telling people about the radicalism there for years--deep in the heart of conservative OC. OC conservatism is a true belief in economic freedoms for everyone as the one uniting philosophy.

On another note, you should have seen Ron Kovic and Oliver Stone speak in 1989. They had some opinions that would make Zombietime's hall of fame look tame.
