Tannhauser gate was the main clue. In some of the CGI shots on the junk work, they included vehicles and debris from Blade Runner in the clutter

It seems as though the interest is returning. With the return of the moon mission and the subsequent Mars mission I think kids are becoming interested once again. The current mission has garnered a great deal of interest.

What they alway failed to mention was that NASA is one of the most efficient government programs to be found. If not THE most efficient and one that provides a great deal of RD for both technology and science. It also provides an inspiration not only for America's youth but adults in the challenges and accomplishments that are inherent with space exploration.

I'm studying for an exam to renew a industry certificate I have. So I'm taking these practice tests from software on my laptop.

The simulator says "configure this that and the other thing on this router A and some other stuff on router B." So I do it. Click to finish and it says "incorrect" followed by the list of commands you are supposed to type in. Which is exactly what I typed. Bugs like this are infuriating especially considering how much all this crap is costing me.

Just a couple of random thoughts...Look for information on the proximity of Mars later this year. It is going to be closer than anytime in anyone's lifetime, and it won't be closer for another eon. An exciting event for skywatchers. Probably happening to commemorate for all time the reign of the new Messiah.
Also, I hope all of you heard ex VP Cheney's speech this morning. I was terribly impressed. It put Obama in the shadows. We need more people with Cheney's attributes.
Temporary gains in stock market are misleading. The reason is that there is no place else for cash-rich investors to get decent returns. There are many signs that the economy could become much, much worse than it is now. But, if you are able to devote enough time to investments, actually, a daily task, you can more or less safely make money by buying on apparent upswings, but selling as quickly as you perceive the indices dropping during the day. I suggest you own only a few stocks at any one time so you can act quickly if selling. I find it best to center on only three or four stocks at a time. View them dispassionately. They are only things, not sweethearts. Learn all you can about the companies, their products, their finances, everything. Everything you need to know can be found on the internet. I, personally, like MSN and YAHOO. Takes time and nerve, but is doable. This is "day-trading". With the small cost of trades at discount brokers, ( I use Scottrade because they are near me, and the Boss graduated from the same Engineering college I attended. ) and the rapidity of effecting the trades, even a small investor can make it worth while. I would caution you to set a reasinable percentage number, say six percent, and when a stock declines that much during the day, sell it at once. No sell point is needed as a stock gains, but generally-bad news might make it advisable to sell everything at some point, say a repeat of 9/11.
I don't mean to bore you, I rambled a bit, but some readers might beneficially reflect on these matters.

I never followed the series, but typically Japanese animation has always blended traditional Japanese artistic elements with whatever other style strikes their fancy. The artists are extremely adept at emulating, and then combining elements in very unexpected ways.

It all sounds pretty artsy until you remember Speed Racer, which was actually one of my favorite cartoons.

It's odd...the version of Read or Die I saw was only three episodes- all CGI or cel-shaded CGI. It was a mish-mash of genres (espionage, thriller, supernatural, steampunk, etc) that should've been a god-awful train wreck but the finished product was actually quite entertaining despite some cringe-worthy moments, such as the White House getting blown up in the very opening, an oversized paper airplane being launched from one of the WTC towers, American warships and attack helicopters getting picked off by the bad guys as a demonstration of their badassery and a running gag featuring the President pissing his pants in terror- to say nothing of the suicide symphony.

Go for it...it's only three episodes, so if you think it sucked so badly that not even light could escape from the suck, you've wasted maybe 90 minutes.

But if you're like me, there are parts you'll go back to so you can see them again (i.e. Apache attack helicopters versus steam-powered glider versus giant paper airplane dogfight over Manhattan).
