Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shakes a finger at North Korea, and apparently the world is supposed to believe this absurd charade.

Tehran - Iran said Monday it opposed the nuclear test conducted Monday by North Korea and called for international efforts toward global denuclearization. “Iran basically opposes nuclear weapons and favours international efforts for global denuclearization,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a press conference in Tehran.

“We recommend all countries not to waste the people’s national resources on moving toward nuclear proliferation and making weapons of mass destruction,” Ahmadinejad said.

The Iranian president also denied that Tehran had any nuclear cooperation with North Korea and said Iran’s civil and nuclear programme were solely conducted with local know-how and experts.

This is clever on Iran’s part, because there’s a certain breed of leftist (both here in the US and in Europe) who will actually swallow this line whole and take it as evidence that Iran is coming around and being reasonable.
