he problem is when it is X years to life, they never serve the "to life" part. I have a problem with that when murder is involved.

I was just investigating the "Wall of Sound" recording technique.

I am not going to pretend to know anything about the subject, but it would appear Spector was a genius.

If he had a fatal car wreck, OD, or died of AIDs or something he would have been revered.

Very Sad.

I don't think he'll live long enough to see freedom. So many powerful people think they can just do anything they want and get away with it. Because so many of them do.

I was looking at that line a lot yesterday. My Porter Cable router sports that label.

Finally, after 6 longs years this monster has been sentenced. 19 years is not long enough but if he serves the full sentence in his cage he will be 88 years old when released.

The family of Lana Clarkson has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit which has yet to go to trial and hopefully they will win an award that will bankrupt this monster's estate.

No just read about it online from time to time as well as looking at the image of his ugly mug along with the crazed hairstyles. He seemed so arrogant at the beginning of the trial too. 6 years for this to finally end -- that's a long time. It would have been nice if they added those 6 years to the 19 and made it 25 years to life.

Yeah. I don't know much about it but I have heard that the isolation unit is sometimes rougher on these creeps. Less human contact. Of course that reduces the possibility of having to socialize with the rest of the prison population which removes the chances of him getting the "social" razing he deserves.

Right.

In so many of these cases, the victim is an afterthought.

The nature of her shooting, with a bullet through the back of her head while the barrel of the gun was in her mouth, suggests that Spector was a malformed sadist. That this was an accident is defeated soundly by robust sworn testimony that Spector seemed to enjoy gunplay with unaccompanied, single females in places of his choosing, notably, his home.

A b-film actress/model and past her prime, pushing 40 and hostessing in a Sunset Blvd. hotspot. She should have married some guy and lived in the suburbs raising a few kids. Been a grandma.

But no.

The saddest part of the story is the Clarkson family's loss. Phil Spector was lost long ago.

IN seperate news...
Phil's S's hairdresser was also sentenced to 19 years for
Disturbing the "(hair) Piece"

I found a reason for the hairpiece.

As the seventies progressed, Spector became increasingly reclusive. The most probable and significant reason for his withdrawal, recently revealed by biographer Dave Thompson, was that Spector was seriously injured when he was thrown through the windshield of his car in a crash in Hollywood. According to a contemporary report published in the New Musical Express, Spector was almost killed, and it was only because the attending police officer detected a faint pulse that Spector was not declared dead at the scene. He was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center on the night of March 31, 1974, suffering serious head injuries which necessitated several hours of surgery with over 300 stitches to his face, and more than 400 stitches to the back of his head. His head injuries, Thompson suggests, were the reason that Spector began his habit of wearing outlandish wigs in later years.

hey ! lay off of yoko ! she was involved in the earliest experiments in what we now call 'looping' and 'sampling', no small feat considering that she was working with pre-computer technology. she have proven to be an artist ahead of her time whose influence is evident in the work of many others. her 'walking on thin ice' is arguably one of the greatest singles of all time (alongside spector's 'river deep, mountain high' with ike and tina turner) and her free-form vocalizing performed with her husband and a host of other talented musicians is only now being appreciated for its radical approach. phil spector's last important work was done with lennon (and yoko).
sadly, spector's personal disintegration mars his musical legacy in, coincidentally, much the same way that ike turner's genius has been lost under the barrage of sordid tales from his personal life...although ike never actually killed anybody (as far as we know.)

87 elclynn  Sat, May 30, 2009 7:29:51am

Spector abused and kept his first love (Ronnie) a virtual prisoner. None of his psychopathic crap is new. Ronnie was held at gunpoint and never allowed any personal freedom. Spector was and is a control freak and a major sicko. Should have gone to jail years ago. It would serve justice if some of that abuse was given back to him in prison.
