'White Supremacists Seem to Hate an Awful Lot of People'

World | Sun, Jun 7, 2009 at 10:52:22 am PDT

British police say they’ve uncovered a “global plot” by white supremacists, involving the deadly toxin ricin: Police smash global plot to poison non-whites.

Police have smashed a global terror plot by white supremacists aimed at poisoning ethnic minorities with the deadly poison ricin.

They discovered the lethal toxin in a sealed jam jar after a six month investigation ended with dawn raids on two properties in County Durham. Two men were arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 and were yesterday being quizzed by officers over their involvement in a worldwide plot. It is feared they planned to use it as part of a biological weapon against ethnic minorities in the UK.

Officers discovered traces of ricin in a kitchen cupboard of a terraced home in the former mining village of Burnopfield and believe it may have been stored there for up to two years. The two men held by officers – former lorry driver Ian Davidson, 41 and his 18 year old son Nicky – are being held at a secure location in West Yorkshire. Since the former pub DJ’s arrest forensic officers have been examining Davidson’s property.

Nicky was held on suspicion of inciting racial hatred following a swoop at his home in Grampian Court, Annfield Plain. However, he has since been re-arrested and is also now detained under the Terrorism Act in West Yorkshire.

Durham’s assistant chief constable Mike Barton said: ‘This shows that the terrorist threat in the UK is real and present.’ He said he expected further arrests to be made as inquiries spread across Britain - and abroad. ‘The tentacles of this are worldwide,’ he said.

‘We believe the people involved to be white supremacist extremists and one of our lines of inquiry was that they were going to target people from ethnic minorities. White supremacists seem to hate an awful lot of people.’

What's so special about the whites? Aren't all supremacists like that?

FBI searches Everett [WA] house for deadly ricin
Everett home searched; no link to terrorism suspected
By Noah Haglund, Diana Hefley and Jackson Holtz
Herald Writers

EVERETT -- An FBI hazardous-materials team scoured an Everett home Thursday for traces of ricin, a deadly toxin.

A declaration filed in court Wednesday suggested that the poison may be in the home as part of a murder plot.

A woman discovered a suspicious substance in her husband's home office on Wednesday morning and called police, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said. Officers who responded to the home in the 1200 block of 50th Street SW suspected that the substance was ricin, which is derived from castor beans, and contacted the FBI.

Ricin doesn't seem to me to be a common murder weapon; the protestations of not terror related come off as strained. VERY strained.

This does not bode well, especially in light of what looks to be a shift to the right in the EU elections.

In and of themselves, that's scary enough. The kooky kicker is the multiculturalism driving British society that let a lot of the Islamofascism grow unfettered. I'm hoping there's no disproportionate response to the white supremacists driven by political correctness that seems to have a firm hold in that society.

They weren't. They were just an easier target (some rich and affluent families in Germany, the old blood myths of eastern Europe and the tsarist propaganda, the jewish intellectuals involved in early communism and so on. Plus enough people had a deeply ingrained antisemitism - thanks catholic church, especially in countries like Spain - that they didn't really care).

Wait, where was I going with this? Ah right. Any group that is sufficiently easy to target as "The Other" (religion, especially religion coupled with dress codes, is always a good factor) will be vulnerable to fear mongerers.

Police have smashed a global terror plot by white supremacists aimed at poisoning ethnic minorities with the deadly poison ricin.

If it's a global plot, at some point they're going to have to notice that whites are the minority, globally speaking. But I guess critical thinking skills are not strong in this demographic.

I have been thinking for years that it was only a matter of time before someone decided to fight fire with fire and that there's things worth killing for.

It does not matter whether the belief is good or evil, or true or false: only the intensity of the perception.

It comes from castor beans.

Ricin is easily purified from castor-oil manufacturing waste. The aqueous phase left over from the oil extraction process is called waste mash. It contains about 5-10% ricin by weight. Separation requires only simple chromatographic techniques.

A Minnesota man recruited to join an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group overseas may have been assassinated in Somalia by the very terrorist group he went there to help.

One of those men — 17-year-old Burhan Hassan — was killed in Mogadishu on Friday, his uncle, Osman Ahmed, told FOX News.

It's made from castor beans. It's fairly easy to make. The instructions are on the net if you know where to look. The problem is that it's toxic in such small amounts that you're likely to kill yourself with it before you get around to carrying out any diabolical plans with it.

When a government leaves a vacuum any thing can happen.

Regardless of how ridiculously inept our government is, idiots like these would have popped up eventually, no matter who was running the show or how well they were running it.

It has less to do with the government of the day than it does the propensity of some people to be dangerous idiots.

NO! This has nothing to do with terrorism, they may be using it in their propaganda but these groups ALWAYS turn up during economic downturns. Blaming it on terrorism is missing the whole point. These are organisations that (just like NSDAP in it's time) gain support during periods of high unemployment (or where people perceive that there is a risk of high unemployment).

In the Bubble, No Food Is Left Untouched
By TIM WEINER
Published: December 3, 2006

The goal of the Secret Service is “to provide a complete 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year protective envelope” around the president. (This all-enveloping phenomenon, known as “the bubble,” can ward off reality as well as danger.)

They recognize no zone of presidential privacy: “they accompany him to restrooms and other private places.” In public, they seek to “achieve seamless proximity”: they must stay so close as to be able to place their “hands on the hips of a president to move him in a particular direction.”

Deception and disguise are crucial elements: “Agents have dressed as major league umpires, soldiers, engineers, academics and priests.” In 2000, the Secret Service demanded the deployment of a decoy Air Force One on a trip to Pakistan.

Of course, “Secret Service personnel test the food the president eats.” For the last 43 years, every president who has died has done so peaceably, no small achievement in a dangerous world.

Yeah. There would have to be some kind of SOP for handling outside food sources.

I was just reading this article on drudge and rushed over here to see if it was being discussed - its usually faster than google searches with the knowledge we have here! It really doesn't make sense now that I've begun to ponder on it instead of reacting.

2 Scenarios:
a) President is known to be eating somewhere: Secret Service sends advanced teams to stake place out far in advance overseeing perpetration and importation of food. No real need to taste.
b) Unknown drop in- No one knows President will be coming- Advanced Secret Service team shows up hours before and supervises- No real need for taster?

Also we have already been told on the History Channel- if we are to believe it--that Air Force One personal food shop at regular stores for the Plane.

Well, I agree and disagree. The tastebuds and sense of smell of humans (especially of talented humans) are a LOT more sensitive and cover a pretty wide spectra. re: #59 Pass The Moonbaticide

Serious Question - Ricin ain't exactly available on Ebay.

Where ddoes it come from ? Can anybody with malicious intent manufacture it from commonly available materials ?

Any Lizards know ?

It's made from castor beans. They are easily available - the plants are common annual ornamentals that are grown all over the place. You used to be able to buy the seeds at garden centers, but in recent years they have become scarce. Commercial nurseries still sell them, but they keep track of who purchases them and raise an eyebrow if large orders come in. The recent caution, of course, is due to increased awareness of ricin's use as a poison.

In some parts of the world, the mash left over from extracting castor oil is available by the ton. Ricin can be extracted from that, as well, but it isn't processed in the US, at least not much.

Extraction is not exactly rocket science - if you know what you're doing, a kitchen and an accurate scale and thermometer will get you there. But it isn't exactly as easy as following a recipe; there's lots of potential for error that will leave you with a worthless product. And if I recall correctly, one of the agents required, while legally obtainable, is another item that would raise eyebrows if purchased in the quantities required.

Compared to other poisons, ricin is not particularly potent. You need to use a lot of it to kill someone, relative to other poisons. But it's also easier to lay hands on the raw materials and processing components needed to produce it than it is other poisons, making it popular with the home-brew crowd.

177 Altermite  Sun, Jun 7, 2009 12:41:54pm

You'd have to test for many poisons individually. By the time you finished testing for many of the known poisons, the food will have gone bad. A food taster is surprisingly more economical- and in some ways, more effective.

I've noticed.

There was an article on there about Hasan al-Basri (d. 711 CE), taken from the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica, which was nothing but a pile of mediaeval Islamic hagiography. The real Hasan was a rebel against the Umayyads and a believer in human free will.

You'd think (and I think) that would make Hasan one of the 'good guys'; but the Salafis prefer their saints to be Salafis like them.

When I rewrote the article according to some work that's been done since 1911, one of Wiki's local Salafis upended that. Second time around, another "wikipedian" got involved, who had never posted on anything else before then or since then. Seems Wiki's got more socks than Michael Jordan...

I've often wondered why some people will do that. Why not verify an assumption before making an accusation. This is especially questionable considering the medium we are using here, the internet. It took me less then a minute to find an article indicating that "food tasting" is common practice for the past 40 years. Criticizing is fine as long as it's based on facts. Always verify information and then try and verify the source or find another source to use as a second opinion or report.

I wish I could say that this story surprises me, but of course it doesn't. Every nation has its subset of ultra-nationalists and racists, but in times of economic and cultural upheaval, they become more popular. This past year, with the economic maelstrom swirling about, and the election of BHO as President, we may have a perfect storm of motivators which has mainstreamed the extreme. I just purchased a new book, but haven't read too much yet, called Blood and Politics by Leonard Zeskind. It's about the mainstreaming of white nationalism over the last forty or so years. The cast of characters for anyone who has followed their activities, is familiar. Sadly, even though the book just came out, it doesn't deal with anything after 2004. Obviously this past year has seen these types become much more vocal and more, as in the nut in Pittsburgh and these British butt-heads. We'll definitely be seeing more of this in the months and years to come. Oh, and btw, apparently Jews aren't immune to this behavior either. Oy gevalt!

What are oppressed white kids supposed to do, aside from drown their misery in religion, adopt wiggerism, or join the counterfeit renaissance?

What use would foreign intelligence make of the presidential bowel movement?

The CIA arranged for a collection of a Foreign Government leader in order to determine medicines and certain health factors, to see if he was going to last a long time in office, using narcotics, etc.

Exactly that. I'm looking for supporting cites but this is the best I've found so far:

I know I heard it on some TV documentary though.

OK but really more than I need to know.

If Nobama is God, why bother "testing" the food. The French must be very offended!

And that still doesn not really address the main point of my comment, that the dissemination of information on chemical weapons makes anyone with a belief strong enough to kill for it able - at least in theory - to commit mass-murder.

Some of the main disseminators have been muslims extremists themselves.

It's SOP regardless of the POTUS's popularity back at least to Reagan. It only takes one person that does not like the guy.

See? And Jews think they're so special.

Yeah, but it's the easiest job in the Secret Service. After all, if you believe the news media, Obama's shit doesn't stink.

The entire premise of the article is BS. "Police have smashed a global terror plot by white supremacists aimed at............". Then it turns out the two are a father in son someplace in the UK. There is no followup to say why this is "global" and that is because, once again, these are two individual nut cases.

There is no evidence of an "al queada" on the right with a mastermind leader. There are a few nut cases but the real threat from the outside is still radical islamists and from the inside it is the marxists.

re: #118 Conservative Moonbat

Daifallah, who had fantasies about biological weapons to cause public alarm, was also found guilty of having an offensive weapon, namely a catapult with marbles.

I'm pretty sure that in UK English, "catapult" refers to what we in the U.S. would call a wrist-mounted slingshot, aka "Wrist Rocket" -- in other words, the guy wasn't in trouble with the police because he'd used Legos and popsicle sticks to build a scale model of an ancient Roman siege weapon.
